Abstract

To provide an authentication system configured to enhance security of iris authentication, an authentication apparatus, an authentication method, and a program.SOLUTION: An authentication apparatus 100 includes: an eyeball motion determination unit 151 which recognizes an eyeball relevant part which corresponds to an eye from captured image data that is obtained by imaging for a predetermined period, to determine whether eyeball motion has been detected in the recognized eyeball relevant part; and an authentication processing unit 155 which executes authentication processing when the eyeball motion determination unit 151 determines that the eyeball motion has been detected, using iris data, which is to be authenticated, based on iris relevant part data that corresponds to a part relevant to iris extracted from the captured image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
