Abstract

To provide a machine tool motor that can achieve high output relative to its size. [Solution] The motor is installed in a holding section of a machine tool that holds a tool or workpiece, and rotates the tool or workpiece around its axis. The motor comprises a housing supported by the holding section, a stator fixed within the housing, a shaft rotatably supported by the housing around the axis of the stator, a metal rotor core formed integrally with the shaft, and a rotor having magnets disposed on the outer circumferential surface of the rotor core and being rotatable coaxially with the stator.
