AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing 3D printing technologies face challenges in producing laminated structures with multiple layers of different materials, leading to difficulties in recycling and material separation during disposal.

Method used

A three-dimensional additive manufacturing apparatus that uses an extrusion device to create laminated structures with layers of varying densities and voids by controlling the diameter of thermoplastic resin through airflow, allowing for a single material to be used across multiple layers.

Benefits of technology

Enables the production of laminated structures with layers of different forms made of a single material, facilitating easier recycling and reducing waste by eliminating the need for layer separation during disposal.

Abstract

To provide a three-dimensional additive manufacturing apparatus that is capable of producing a laminated structure made of a single material and having a plurality of layers with different aspects.SOLUTION: A three-dimensional additive manufacturing apparatus 10 that is configured to produce a laminated structure 1 made of a single material and having a high-density layer 2 with no voids and low-density layers 3 and 4 with voids, comprises: a discharge device 11 that discharges a thermoplastic resin in a molten state; and a molding table 30 disposed below the discharge device 11 to receive the thermoplastic resin discharged by the discharge device 11. A blower 22 for blowing air onto the falling thermoplastic resin discharged in a string shape from a nozzle 12 of the discharge device 11 is provided above the molding table 30 and a diameter of the falling thermoplastic resin can be reduced by the air blown by the blower 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
