Abstract

In a load-bearing wall having two diagonal braces arranged in a Σ shape, a high-strength load-bearing wall is provided by using an inexpensive central connecting fitting with a simple L-shaped cross-section. [Solution] This is a load-bearing wall in which a first diagonal member 14 and a second diagonal member 15 are installed in a rectangular space enclosed by a lower horizontal member 10, a first column 11, a second column 12, and an upper horizontal member 13. The lower end of the first diagonal member 14 and the upper end of the second diagonal member 15 are abutted together and fixed to a mounting piece of a central connecting hardware 30 located in the center of the second column. The central connecting hardware 30 is screwed to the side of the second column 12 using fixing holes 37 and 38 provided in the upper and lower regions in the longitudinal direction of the fixing piece 33. The central connecting hardware 30 allows for the installation of diagonal members without impairing the function even in load-bearing walls of different heights, and by appropriately using the mounting position and screws of different lengths, it prevents damage to the diagonal members and improves the strength of the load-bearing wall.
