Abstract
This invention provides a single-shaft shredder that can achieve both high shredding efficiency and stable operation while suppressing overload by appropriately understanding the load conditions during shredding and effectively controlling the pusher's movement according to those conditions. [Solution] The single-shaft shredder 100 includes a hopper 1 for containing the material to be shredded 12, a rotor 2 positioned facing an opening at the bottom of the hopper 1, a rotating blade 3 attached to the rotor 2 and a fixed blade 4 fixed to the housing, and a pusher 5 for pressing the material to be shredded 12 against the rotor 2. It also includes a load detection unit that detects the rotor load based on the current value or power value of the drive source that rotates the rotor 2, and a drive control unit that controls the actuator that drives the pusher 5 to perform an intermittent reversing operation that alternately repeats reversing and pausing when the rotor load exceeds a predetermined high load threshold.
