A battery diagnostic device according to an embodiment of the present invention is a battery diagnostic device located in a battery system, and includes at least one processor; and a memory for storing at least one instruction executed by the at least one processor. Here, the at least one instruction may include an instruction to diagnose whether or not an abnormality exists in the battery based on a battery state value during charging / discharging of the battery; an instruction to generate a first diagnostic result when an abnormality occurs in the battery; an instruction to verify the validity of the first diagnostic result based on opening / closing of a door provided in a container that accommodates the battery; and an instruction to output the first diagnostic result as a final diagnostic result when the first diagnostic result is determined to be valid.
