Abstract

To provide a treatment liquid that inhibits the formation of foreign materials during storage or when loaded into an inkjet recording device.SOLUTION: A water-based treatment liquid is used for recording together with an ink jet ink. The ink jet ink is a water-based ink composition. The treatment liquid contains: a polyvalent metal salt; a resin selected from an acrylic-based resin and a maleic acid-based resin; and a compound selected from an organic acid and an organic amine. The content of the resin is 1 mass% or less with respect to the total mass of the treatment liquid. The treatment liquid has a pH of 5.5 or more to 7.5 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
