AI Technical Summary
Aqueous suspension pesticide compositions face issues with crystal growth during storage and air bubble generation during dilution, leading to nozzle clogging during spraying, which existing formulations struggle to address effectively.
An aqueous suspension pesticide composition comprising impirfluxam, pesticide active ingredients with a melting point of 50°C or higher, lignin sulfonate, and polyoxyalkylene arylphenyl ether phosphate ester salt, which suppresses crystal growth and bubble generation, ensuring stable storage and spraying performance.
The composition effectively prevents crystal growth and bubble formation, maintaining storage stability and preventing nozzle clogging, thereby ensuring consistent and efficient pesticide application.
Abstract
Description
Aqueous suspension pesticide composition
[0001] This patent application claims priority under the Paris Convention to and the benefit of Japanese Patent Application No. 2022-040499 (filed March 15, 2022), the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
[0002] The present invention relates to an aqueous suspension concentrate pesticidal composition.
[0003] Conventionally, pesticide formulations containing inpirfluxam and another pesticidal active ingredient have been known as agricultural fungicides and have been put to practical use (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
[0004] On the other hand, in order to solve the problem of dusting during preparation of spray solutions, which can occur with wettable powders, aqueous suspension pesticide compositions have been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 2).

[0006] When developing an aqueous suspension pesticide composition, depending on the pesticide active ingredient and formulation adjuvants used, crystal growth may occur during transportation or storage, or a large amount of bubbles may be generated during preparation of the diluted solution, which may cause nozzle clogging during spraying.

Specifically, the present invention includes the following [1] to

The composition of the present invention may be used as it is, or may be diluted with water to use a diluted solution.
[0043] The composition of the present invention can be produced, for example, by a method in which inpilfluxam, the pesticidal active ingredient (b), lignin sulfonate, and polyoxyalkylene aryl phenyl ether phosphate ester salt, as well as formulation adjuvants, are added to water, followed by thorough stirring and mixing with a high-speed stirrer, and then finely pulverizing with a wet grinder such as a bead mill; or by a method in which inpilfluxam and the pesticidal active ingredient (b) are finely pulverized with a dry grinder such as a jet mill, and then the finely pulverized inpilfluxam, the pesticidal active ingredient (b), lignin sulfonate, and polyoxyalkylene aryl phenyl ether phosphate ester salt, as well as formulation adjuvants, as needed, are added to water, and then thorough stirring and mixing with a high-speed stirrer.
[0044] In the composition of the present invention, the pesticidal active ingredient is dispersed in water in the form of fine particles, the particle size of which is typically 10 μm or less, preferably 0.1 to 10 μm, and more preferably 0.2 to 7 μm. The volume median diameter refers to the particle size at which the cumulative frequency in a volume-based frequency distribution is 50%, and can be determined by wet measurement using a laser diffraction particle size analyzer. More specifically, the object to be measured is dispersed in water and measured using the analyzer. A Mastersizer 3000 manufactured by Malvern Instruments is used as such a laser diffraction particle size analyzer.

[0052] Next, test examples will be shown to examine the storage stability of the pesticidal aqueous suspension concentrate of the present invention.
[0053] Test Example 1 The foaming properties of the aqueous suspension pesticide compositions obtained in Production Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Production Examples 1 and 2 were measured. The foaming property measurement procedure was as follows. 0.5 ml of the aqueous suspension pesticide composition was added to a 250 ml stoppered measuring cylinder containing 195.5 ml of standard water H specified by the International Council on Pesticide Analysis (CIPAC), and the measuring cylinder was then stoppered. The measuring cylinder was inverted 180° in one second and then returned to its original position in one second, and this cycle was repeated 30 times. After leaving the cylinder to stand for one minute, the volume of bubbles present on the liquid surface was measured. The results are shown in Table 1. As shown in Table 1, it was found that all of the compositions (1) to (4) of the present invention suppressed foam generation during the preparation of the spray solution.
[0054]
[0055] Test Example 2 The aqueous suspension pesticidal compositions obtained in Preparation Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Preparation Examples 1 and 2 were placed in 50 ml glass bottles, sealed, and stored in an incubator set at 54°C for two weeks. A 10 g aliquot of the aqueous suspension pesticidal composition stored in the incubator for the specified period was then diluted with tap water and passed through a 45 μm mesh sieve. The residue remaining on the sieve was transferred to a glass petri dish by flushing with ion-exchanged water and dried in an oven at 60°C. The weight ratio (%) of the residue to the weight (10 g) of the aqueous suspension pesticidal composition used was calculated using the following formula. The results are shown in Table 2. Sieve residue (%) = (residue weight (g) / 10 (g)) × 100. A high sieve residue (%) indicates the presence of large particles in the measured sample. As shown in Table 2, all of the compositions (1) to (4) of the present invention suppressed the generation of large particles even after high-temperature storage, demonstrating excellent storage stability.

[0057] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an aqueous suspension pesticidal composition in which crystal growth during storage and bubble generation during preparation of a spray solution are both suppressed.
