Abstract

Provided, inter alia, is a metal plate for a container having a resin coating layer that satisfies the physical properties required of a resin coating layer when being processed as a metal container, and has a satisfactory appearance even when subjected to a molding process and a heat treatment. The metal plate for a container has a resin coating layer provided on at least one surface of the metal plate. The resin coating layer includes a polyester resin and is obtained by laminating a plurality of resin layers. The resin coating layer has a complex viscosity at 280°C of 31 to 100 Pa·s. The plurality of resin layers have a pigment layer containing a white pigment and a lubricating layer containing 0.01 to 1.35 mass% of a lubricating component. The lubricating layer is disposed on the outermost side of the plurality of resin layers. The ratio of the film thickness of pigment layer to the film thickness of the lubricating layer disposed on the outermost side of the plurality of resin layers is 1.0 / 1.0 to 16.0 / 1.0. The lubricating component of the lubricating layer includes a wax containing a polar group.
