Compound microscope

Abstract

A compound microscope comprising an optical system configured to provide both low magnification and high-resolution magnification, a specimen stage for supporting a sample, and a dual illumination system including an upper light source arranged above the specimen stage and a lower light source arranged below the specimen stage. The microscope further comprises a portable power source configured to supply electrical energy to the illumination system. The microscope is configured as a compact and portable unit suitable for both field and laboratory use.
