AI Technical Summary
Existing self-centering chucks for lathes have a narrow adjustment range and lack constancy in the intermediate spatial position of moving parts during adjustment, limiting the functionality of automatic control systems.
A clamping cam system with a slider, a working part containing a piezoelectric plate package, a prefabricated wedge lock, and an electromagnet, ensuring stable intermediate spatial positions through piezo motor control and electromagnet fixation.
Expands the adjustment range and maintains stable positions of moving parts during clamping, enhancing the functionality of automatic control systems on lathes.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to machine tool manufacturing, and more specifically, to devices for centering and clamping workpieces on the spindle of a lathe and can be used as an actuator in automatic part position control systems. The following are known: a self-centering wedge lathe chuck according to the USSR Accordance System No. 1585088, IPC B23B 31 / 00, published in BI No. 30, 1990, a lathe chuck according to the USSR Accordance System No. 1734961, IPC B23B 31 / 28, published in BI No. 19, 1992, a self-centering wedge lathe chuck according to the USSR Accordance System No. 1814998, IPC B23B 31 / 28, 31 / 36 published in BI No. 18, 1993, a clamping chuck for a lathe according to the USSR Accordance System No. 1816552, IPC B23B 31 / 36, published. in BI No. 19, 1993, wedge-type lathe chuck according to USSR A.S. No. 1825673, IPC B23B 31 / 28, published in BI No. 25, 1993, lathe chuck according to USSR A.S. No. 1834111, IPC B23B 31 / 117, published in BI No. 19, 1995, wedge-type lathe chuck according to USSR A.S. No. 1839364, IPC B23B 31 / 28, published in BI No. 16, 1995, lathe chuck according to provisional patent of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 11954, IPC B23B 31 / 02, published. in BI No. 9, 2002, self-centering wedge lathe chuck according to Patent RK No. 11400, IPC B23B 31 / 10, published in BI No. 11, 2004 and others. The designs of all known chucks can be used as an actuator in automatic precision control systems for lathes. Their common disadvantage is a narrow range of adjustments, which significantly limits the functionality of the automatic system of which they are a part. The closest in technical essence to the proposed one is the clamping cam of a self-centering lathe chuck according to Patent RK No. 11399, IPC B23B 31 / 16, B23B 31 / 28, published in BI No. 11, 2004. This technical solution is accepted as a prototype for the proposed one. The clamping jaw of a self-centering lathe chuck contains a slide and a working part consisting of a housing with a movable insert-jaw placed in it coaxially with each other in the form of a hollow cup with a mover located in it from a package of piezoelectric plates. The disadvantages of the known technical solution include the following. The known device has a small adjustment range and does not ensure the constancy of the intermediate spatial position of the moving parts of the clamping cam achieved during adjustment. The technical result of using the proposed invention consists in improving the functional and technical characteristics of the device, in particular, in expanding the range of adjustment and ensuring a stable position of the intermediate spatial states of the moving parts of the cam during the entire adjustment procedure. The specified technical result is achieved due to the fact that the clamping jaw of a self-centering lathe chuck, which contains a slider and a working part consisting of a housing with a movable insert-jaw placed in it coaxially with each other in the form of a hollow cup with a mover located in it from a package of piezoelectric plates, additionally includes a prefabricated wedge lock, consisting of a wedge, plates, a spring and an electromagnet, and a ring pressing the insert-jaw, wherein the insert-jaw interacts from above and below, respectively, with the wedge of the wedge lock and the pressing ring. The invention is further illustrated where Fig. 1 shows a view of the end of the chuck with a section along the axis of the piezo motor of the upper cam; Fig. 2 is a top view of the chuck cam; Fig. 3 is a section along A-A in Fig. 2; Fig. 4 is a view along D in Fig. 1; Fig. 5 is a section along G-G in Fig. 3; Fig. 6 is a view along E in Fig. 1; Fig. 7 is an isometric image of the chuck cam with a partial section. Three prefabricated clamping jaws comprise a self-centering wedge-type lathe chuck. Each of the three jaws has a ram (Fig. 3, pos. 1, shows only the chuck 1 attached to the ram) and a working section consisting of a housing 2 housing a prefabricated adjustment mechanism. The prefabricated adjustment mechanism itself includes a piezoelectric motor 3, secured to the housing with a nut 4, a hollow cup 5, compressed by a ring 6 incorporated into the ram structure and resting on a cover 7, and a prefabricated wedge lock incorporated into the structure. The lock consists of a wedge 8, plates 9 and 10, a spring 11 and an electromagnet 12. The electromagnet 12 is attached to the body 2 using a casing 13 and screws 14 and 15. On the other side, the wedge lock is covered with a casing 16. A soft cam 18 is attached to the cup 5 using a T-shaped groove and a screw 17. The lower cover 7 is attached to the body with 2 screws 19. The cam, in turn, is attached to the cracker 1 of the slider using screws 20 and pins 21. The proposed cam operates as follows. When power is applied to the electromagnet, plate 9, along with wedge 8 and plate 10, connected to it by screws 22 and 23, are attracted to its core by spring 11. Under the action of pressure ring 6 and piezo motor rod 3, cup 5 is set to the mid-position. If it is located closer to the center of the chuck, it is acted upon by ring 6; if it is located further from the center, it is acted upon by piezo motor rod 3. Soft cam 18 is also set to the mid-position. When a self-centering lathe chuck with the proposed clamping jaws is used as an actuator in, for example, an automatic workpiece position control system, if the adjusted workpiece axis position misaligns with the spindle rotation axis, an automatic readjustment procedure is performed. During this process, the machine's CNC system sends a signal proportional to the magnitude and direction of its piston rod movement to each of the three piezomotors 3. After the readjustment procedure, the relative positions of the spindle and workpiece axes are again compared. If the discrepancy is within the permissible tolerance, power is removed from electromagnet 12, and wedge 8, under the action of spring 11, locks the cup in the preset position. The piezomotors are then de-energized.
