Abstract
A method was developed for producing catalytic ink with a pore-forming agent for depositing the catalytic layer onto diffusers, membranes, or any other substrate for electrode formation. This method employs carbon-supported metallic nanoparticles (of various types), powdered ionomer, a pore generator, and a mixture of different solvents. The catalytic ink is homogenized using ultrasound and deposited by an atomization system. This process is used to manufacture membrane-electrode assemblies for use in alkaline fuel cell technology.
