AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional washing apparatuses for horizontal filter presses face issues such as high manufacturing costs, increased weight, clogged/encrusted spray nozzles, limited effectiveness in lower parts of the filter media, and structural integrity problems due to fixed roller bars, along with high ceiling height and clearance requirements for scrubber structures.

Method used

A movable washing cart equipped with a washing unit that includes spindles, flexible hoses, and a rolling bar system, allowing for flexible hose deployment and retraction to wash filter plate assemblies efficiently, reducing structural stress and manufacturing costs.

Benefits of technology

The solution provides a cost-effective, efficient, and structurally sound method for washing filter media, minimizing nozzle clogging and structural damage while reducing the need for high clearance and ceiling height, thus enhancing the operational reliability and economy of the filter press.

Abstract

A horizontal filter press (100) is provided with a track (105) and numerous filter plate assemblies (101) supported by side bars (104). A washing carriage (2), which is movably supported on the track (105), includes a washing unit (1) for washing the filter plate assemblies (101). The washing unit (1) may include a wash water manifold (11) having a first outlet (13) for supplying wash water to a first spindle (19) and a second outlet (14) for supplying wash water to a second spindle (19). Each of the spindles (19) may include a reel (20) for winding a flexible hose (23), and each is configured to rotate with respect to the washing carriage (2). A first end of a spray bar (25) is seamlessly connected to a first flexible hose (23) held by a reel (20) on the first spindle (19).
