A method to enable a human operator to have a piece of land cultivated, and a method and system for generating a cultivation plan

Abstract

The present invention pertains to a method to enable a human operator to have farmland cultivated, the farmland comprising a first plot of farmland and distinct 5 therefrom a second plot of farmland, which first and second plots are remote from each other and connected via a carriageway, the method comprising providing an autonomous agricultural vehicle that is able to perform one or more agricultural operations, providing a processing unit to generate a cultivation plan for the first plot of farmland, which plan comprises a first set of multiple distinct paths that spatially extend 10 over the first plot of farmland, controlling the autonomous agricultural vehicle such that it autonomously crosses the first plot of farmland by moving over the said first set of multiple distinct paths while performing a first agricultural operation chosen from the one or more agricultural operations in order to cultivate the first plot of farmland, and wherein thereafter the autonomous agricultural vehicle autonomously moves over the 15 carriageway in order to move from the first plot of farmland to the second plot of farmland, wherein in the method, before the agricultural vehicle is controlled to cross the first plot of farmland, the processing unit generates a route for the autonomous agricultural vehicle for the said moving over the carriage way, and the human operator is provided the option to manually determine the speed at which the autonomous 20 agricultural vehicle is to move over the carriageway.The invention also pertains to a method and system for generating a cultivation plan for such an autonomous agricultural vehicle. 25 (Fig. 3B)
