Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for removing invasive plant species from soil. Such invasive plant species could for example be Japanese knotweed, hogweed, or any other unwanted species of plants present in a quantity of soil. The method comprises the steps of transferring soil from a first location to a second location, wherein the soil comprises at least one invasive plant species; spreading soil at the second location such that a layer is formed that has a predetermined thickness after spreading; and letting animals roam around in or on the layer of soil to feed upon the invasive plant species in the soil.
