Method of producing an actinomycete-based biocontrol agent against fusarium wilt

Abstract

The present invention relates to the process of producing a biocontrol agent against Fusarium wilt-causing Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc TR4) in banana composed of a mixture of actinomycetes using an alternative low-cost media and formulated with soil and charcoal as carrier. The process is comprised of media preparation, streaking of actinomycete biomass, inoculation and incubation of actinomycete in broth media, recovery of actinomycete cells, preparation of carrier, packing and sterilization of carrier, drying of carrier, and inoculation of actinomycetes in the carrier.
