Abstract

A process for the preparation of deodorized kerosene from kerosene has been developed using commercial concentrated sulphuric acid aS the extracting agent of sulphur compounds which make an unpleasant odour in kerosene. The kerosene to sulphuric acid ratio used in the process is 1:2. The deodorized kerosene is used as a solvent in the paint, cosmetics, and chemical industries as well as in the formulation of insecticides and pesticides. The product is more economical and save valuable foreign exchange.
