[0012] In an embodiment, the present invention improves a cooking appliance having a housing and a cooking appliance cavity liner disposed in the housing to form a cooking chamber.

[0013] In an embodiment the present invention provides a cooking appliance as described herein wherein the mounting hole disposed in each of the mounting tabs is in the form of an elongated hole, a longitudinal axis of the elongated hole extending in a depth dimension of the cooking appliance, which depth dimension extends from a front of the housing toward the mounting wall, and the respective corresponding elongated holes, mounting holes, and cavity liner mounting elements being configured to match each other in such a way that in a state of non-use of the cooking appliance and in all states of use of the cooking appliance, the respective cavity liner mounting element is positioned away from both of the ends that bound the elongated hole in the depth dimension. Thus, each of the mounting tabs can be force-transmittingly connected to the mounting wall by means of a single cavity liner mounting element or with a plurality of cavity liner mounting elements, each cavity liner mounting element corresponding to a mounting hole in the mounting wall and to a mounting hole formed as an elongated hole in the mounting tab that is associated with this cavity liner mounting element.

[0014] An advantage provided by the invention is, in particular, that a cooking appliance having a housing and a cooking appliance cavity liner disposed in the housing to form a cooking chamber is improved. The cooking appliance according to the invention allows the cooking appliance cavity liner to expand along the depth dimension of the inventive cooking appliance in all states of use of the cooking appliance without causing undesirable and detrimental mechanical stress between the cooking appliance cavity liner on one side and the housing, namely the mounting wall, on the other side. This is because the mounting holes formed as elongated holes in the mounting tabs allow the cooking appliance cavity liner to be floatingly mounted relative to the housing along the depth dimension of the cooking appliance according to the invention. Accordingly, the above-described chipping of the enamel of an enameled cooking appliance cavity liner, for example, is effectively prevented. Thus, the cooking appliance cavity liner of the inventive cooking appliance can be sufficiently fastened to the housing along the depth dimension without impairing the proper functioning of the inventive cooking device due to mechanical stresses, either in the state of non-use or in any of the states of use.

[0015] The cooking appliance according to the invention can, in principle, be freely selected within wide suitable limits in terms of type, function, material, and dimensions. For example, the inventive cooking appliance may be in the form of a baking oven, a steam cooker, a microwave oven, or a combination appliance having a plurality of different types of heating. Furthermore, the cooking appliance according to the invention may be designed both as household appliance or as an industrial cooking appliance; i.e., a cooking appliance for professional use. The properties of, for example, the cooking appliance cavity liner of the cooking appliance may vary correspondingly, so that the cooking appliance cavity liner does not necessarily have to be designed as an enameled cooking appliance cavity liner. Merely by way of example, reference is made here only to stainless steel cavity liners.

[0016] An advantageous refinement of the inventive cooking appliance provides that the two mounting tabs are each disposed on a respective side of the cooking appliance cavity liner, and that the mounting wall has correspondingly shaped lateral tabs, preferably, that the lateral tabs are each formed as a flange of the mounting wall, which flange is provided with the mounting hole, preferably, that a trough provided with the mounting hole is formed in the respective flange of the mounting wall. In this way, the invention can be implemented in a particularly simple and thus cost-effective manner in terms of design and production. This applies particularly to embodiments of the inventive cooking appliance where the housing is assembled using a mounting wall, a housing top wall, and a housing bottom wall that are separate from each other, because in this case, the joining of the individual housing parts mentioned above and the attachment of the cooking appliance cavity liner to the mounting wall do not compete, for example, for reasons of space limitations or the like. The preferred embodiment of this refinement also has the further advantage that, for example, lateral tabs configured as separate lateral tabs do not have to be connected to a remainder of the mounting wall. Instead, the lateral tabs are formed from the mounting wall. The preferred embodiment of this refinement additionally has the further advantage that the trough firstly stiffens the flange and secondly brings the holed portion of the flange closer to the corresponding mounting tab provided with the mounting hole in the form of an elongated hole. Thus, due to the smaller distance between the flange on one side and the mounting tab on the other side achieved in the aforementioned manner, it is possible to use shorter and therefore less expensive cavity liner mounting elements. Also, the flange with the trough and the corresponding cavity liner mounting element may be configured to match each other in such a way that an exposed surface of the flange facing away from the corresponding mounting tab is elevated above a free end of the cavity liner mounting element corresponding to the flange. The cavity liner mounting element is thus recessed into the flange by means of the trough.

[0017] The mounting wall is preferably a wall-like structure of the housing and is disposed behind the cooking appliance cavity liner relative to a loading opening of the cooking appliance cavity liner in the depth direction of the cooking appliance cavity liner. In particular, the mounting wall is disposed between a rear wall of the housing and the cooking appliance cavity liner.

[0018] In an alternative embodiment, the mounting wall forms the rear wall of the housing.

[0019] One aspect is that the mounting wall is a flat, panel-like and wall-shaped body, which is preferably disposed perpendicular to a housing top wall or a housing bottom wall.

[0020] One aspect is that the mounting wall is disposed perpendicular to the plane of the loading opening of the cooking appliance cavity liner and perpendicular to the rear wall of the cooking appliance cavity liner. A further advantageous refinement of the cooking appliance according to the invention provides that the respective mounting tab is connected to a remainder of the cooking appliance cavity liner in a form-fitting manner and / or by a material-to-material bond. In this way, a functionally reliable and thus robust force-transmitting connection is provided between the cooking appliance cavity liner and the two mounting tabs. The form-fitting connection could be implemented, for example, by means of at least one mounting bolt and / or at least one mounting screw. In the case of the aforementioned material-to-material bond, it is conceivable, for example, to weld or adhesively bond the mounting tabs to the cooking appliance cavity liner. One skilled in the art will select the appropriate connection technology depending on the requirements of the individual case.

[0021] Another advantageous refinement of the inventive cooking appliance provides that the respective cavity liner mounting element is in the form of a mounting bolt or a mounting screw, preferably, that the respective mounting hole in the mounting wall is formed as a circular mounting hole configured to correspond to an outer diameter of a shank of the cavity liner mounting element, while the respective mounting hole in the mounting tab has a width of this elongated hole configured to correspond to the aforementioned outer diameter, preferably, that the respective cavity liner mounting element is suitable for blind assembly. In this way, the respective corresponding components, namely the mounting hole in the mounting wall, the mounting hole in the mounting tab, which is configured as an elongated hole, and the cavity liner mounting element are configured in a particularly practical and suitable manner. This applies to the preferred embodiment of this refinement. The present refinement substantially reduces the heat conduction from the cooking appliance cavity liner toward the mounting wall in the desired manner, since the respective cavity liner mounting element contacts the mounting wall and the corresponding mounting tab only via a very small contact area. Irrespective of the further development of this step, the mounting hole in the mounting wall may be formed, for example, as a drilled hole or a punched hole, while the mounting hole in the mounting tab, which is configured as an elongated hole, may be formed, for example, as a plunged hole. However, other forms of mounting holes known to those skilled in the art and suitable for the respective individual case are also possible.

[0022] An advantageous refinement of the cooking appliance according to the invention provides that the respective mounting tab has, in addition to the mounting hole formed therein, a plurality of further holes to reduce heat conduction from the cooking appliance cavity liner toward the mounting wall, preferably, that at least some of the further holes are arranged along an axis perpendicular to the depth dimension, particularly preferably, that all further holes are arranged along the aforementioned axis. In this way, heat conduction from the cooking appliance cavity liner toward the mounting wall is further reduced in the desired manner. This applies to the preferred embodiment of this refinement. These further holes can be designed and produced analogously the mounting holes mentioned above.

[0023] Another advantageous embodiment of the cooking appliance according to the invention provides that the respective mounting tab has a raised edge, preferably, that the raised edge is at least partially disposed in an overlap region of the mounting tab with the mounting wall in such a way that the mounting wall contacts the mounting tab only via the raised edge or not at all. In this way, the stiffness of the mounting tab is significantly improved in a simple manner in terms of design and production. For example, the raised edge may be formed as a folded edge of the respective mounting tab. The first variant of the preferred embodiment of this refinement additionally has the further advantage that, firstly, the aforementioned overlap region improves the transmission of force between the respective mounting tab on one side and the mounting wall on the other side. Secondly, the contact area required for this between the respective mounting tab and the mounting wall is very small, so that the contact-area-related heat conduction from the cooking appliance cavity liner toward the mounting wall is very limited. In contrast, the second variant of the preferred embodiment of this refinement has the advantage that, due to the aforementioned overlap, no heat conduction occurs between the cooking appliance cavity liner and the mounting wall.

[0024] A further advantageous refinement of the inventive cooking appliance provides that the cooking appliance has a fan disposed on a rear wall of the cooking appliance cavity liner, as well as a fan motor, with the mounting wall and fan mounting elements for mounting the fan to the cavity liner rear wall being configured to match each other in such a way that in the state of non-use and in all states of use of the cooking appliance, the fan mounting elements are positioned such that they do not contact the mounting wall. Fans are very often used in cooking appliances having cooking chambers for a variety of operational reasons. By means of the present refinement, the mounting of the fan motor to the cooking appliance cavity liner via the fan mounting elements is decoupled from the mounting wall both mechanically and thermally, so that this fan mounting can have no adverse effect either with respect to unwanted mechanical stresses or with respect to unwanted thermal bridges between the cooking appliance cavity liner and the mounting wall.

[0025] When using a fan as in the present refinement of the invention, it is advantageous that the two mounting tabs are each disposed on a respective side of the cooking appliance cavity liner, and that the mounting wall has correspondingly shaped lateral tabs. This is because, in this case, the mounting tabs are not directly within the area covered by the fan, so that heat transported in an airflow of the fan is not transferred via the mounting tabs to the mounting wall in an undesirable manner. Accordingly, an energy consumption of this inventive cooking appliance is reduced in comparison to a comparable cooking appliance according to the invention where the mounting tabs are disposed in the aforementioned airflow of the fan.

[0026] The fan is disposed inside the cooking appliance cavity liner. The fan motor is usually positioned outside the cooking appliance cavity liner. In particular, the fan motor is disposed on a side of the mounting wall opposite the cooking appliance cavity liner.

[0027] An advantageous refinement of the aforementioned embodiment of the cooking appliance according to the invention provides that holes corresponding to the fan mounting elements are disposed in the mounting wall, preferably, that these holes are each configured as a mounting wall cutout. In this way, the above-mentioned mechanical and thermal decoupling of the cooking appliance cavity liner from the mounting wall is made possible in a very simple manner in terms of design and production. This applies to the preferred embodiment of this refinement. However, the aforementioned holes may be made in any suitable and practical manner. In this regard, see also the above explanations regarding the mounting holes and the further holes.

[0028] One aspect is that at least one of the fan mounting elements penetrates the plane of the mounting wall, in particular the corresponding one of the holes, and thus provides for easier mounting of a fan motor.

[0029] A further advantageous refinement of the cooking appliance according to the invention provides that the cooking appliance cavity liner is form-fittingly supported at the front of the housing in such a way that the attachment of the cooking appliance cavity liner to the housing is only accomplished through interaction of this support with the aforementioned form-fitting connection of the cooking appliance cavity liner to the mounting wall. This allows the cooking appliance according to the invention to be designed and manufactured in a simple manner.

[0030] Further, another advantageous refinement of the cooking appliance according to the invention provides that the housing is designed as a multi-part housing, preferably that in a disassembled condition of the cooking appliance, the housing has a separate housing front frame and / or a separate mounting wall and / or a separate housing bottom wall and / or a separate housing top wall, preferably, that the housing has at least one housing cover for covering the housing. In this way, the manufacture of the cooking appliance according to the invention is significantly simplified. This applies to the preferred embodiment of this refinement. The preferred embodiment of this refinement additionally has the further advantage that, firstly, the aforementioned housing parts can be designed, manufactured, and joined together independently of a desired overall aesthetic appearance of the cooking appliance according to the invention. Secondly, the housing cover also allows the inventive cooking appliance to have an overall aesthetic appearance that is independent of the aforementioned housing parts.

[0031] In FIGS. 1 through 5, an exemplary embodiment of the inventive cooking appliance is illustrated in purely schematic form.

[0032] Cooking appliance 2 is in the form of a household baking oven and includes a housing 4 with a cooking appliance cavity liner 6 disposed in housing 4 to form a cooking chamber, the cooking appliance cavity liner 6 having two mounting tabs 8 for form-fitting connection to a mounting wall 10 of housing 4, and the respective form-fitting connection being formed by a cavity liner mounting element 14 engaging in a mounting hole 12 in mounting wall 10 and in the respective mounting tab 8. In each of FIGS. 1 through 5, only one of the two mounting tabs 8 is shown. This mounting tab 8 shown in FIGS. 1 through 5 is also exemplary for the mounting tab. The same applies to its interaction with a remainder of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 different from mounting tabs 8 and with mounting wall 10. Accordingly, the following explanations apply equally to both mounting tabs 8. The two mounting tabs 8 are identical in design.

[0033] According to the invention, a mounting hole 16 disposed in each of mounting tabs 8 is in the form of an elongated hole, a longitudinal axis of the elongated hole extending in a depth dimension of cooking appliance 2, which depth dimension extends from a front of housing 4, depicted on the left in the plane of FIG. 1, toward mounting wall 10, depicted on the right in the plane of FIG. 1, and the respective corresponding mounting holes 16, mounting holes 12, and cavity liner mounting elements 14 being configured to match each other in such a way that in a state of non-use of cooking appliance 2 and in all states of use of cooking appliance 2, the respective cavity liner mounting element 14 is positioned away from both of the ends that bound the elongated hole, i.e., mounting hole 16, in the depth dimension.

[0034] The two mounting tabs 8 are each disposed on a respective side of cooking appliance cavity liner 6, and mounting wall 10 has correspondingly shaped lateral tabs 18, the lateral tabs 18 each being formed as a flange of mounting wall 10, which flange is provided with mounting hole 12, namely, in such a way that a trough 20 provided with mounting hole 12 is formed in the respective flange of mounting wall 10. The aforementioned sides of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 each extend parallel to the plane of FIG. 1. In FIG. 1, only one of the two sides of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 is visible, namely the side that lies in the plane of FIG. 1. The other side of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 is located behind the plane of FIG. 1. In FIG. 2, the two sides of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 are located on the left and right in the plane of the paper.

[0035] In the present exemplary embodiment, the respective mounting tab 8 is connected to a remainder of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 by material-to-material bonding, namely, by spot welding. In this regard, see also the spots 22 shown, for example, in FIG. 4.

[0036] The respective cavity liner mounting element 14 is here in the form of a mounting screw, the respective mounting hole 12 in mounting wall 10 being formed as a circular mounting hole configured to correspond to an outer diameter of a shank of the respective cavity liner mounting element 14, and the respective mounting hole 16 in mounting tab 8 having a width of the elongated hole configured to correspond to the aforementioned outer diameter. Furthermore, the respective cavity liner fastening element 14 is suitable for blind assembly and configured, for example, as a self-tapping sheet-metal screw. Alternatively, other types of cavity liner mounting elements suitable for the respective individual case, such as mounting bolts, are in principle also conceivable of course. Merely by way of example, reference is made here to rivets or the like.

[0037] The respective mounting tab 8 has, in addition to the mounting hole 16 formed therein, a plurality of further holes 24 to reduce heat conduction from cooking appliance cavity liner 6 toward mounting wall 10, at least some of the further holes 24 being arranged along an axis perpendicular to the depth dimension. In other embodiments of the invention, it may additionally be provided that all further holes are arranged along the aforementioned axis.

[0038] In order to stiffen mounting tab 8, the respective mounting tab 8 has a raised edge 26, the edge 26 not contacting mounting wall 10 in an overlap region of mounting tab 8 with mounting wall 10. However, in other embodiments of the invention, it may be provided that the raised edge is at least partially disposed in an overlap region of the mounting tab with the mounting wall in such a way that the mounting wall contacts the mounting tab only via the raised edge.

[0039] As usual, cooking appliance 2, which is configured as a household baking oven, has a fan 30 disposed on a cavity liner rear wall 28 of cooking appliance cavity liner 6. Mounting wall 10 and a total of three fan mounting elements 32 in the form of mounting brackets for mounting fan motor 31 to cavity liner rear wall 28 are configured to match each other in such a way that in the state of non-use and in all states of use of cooking appliance 2, fan mounting elements 23 are positioned such that they do not contact mounting wall 10. For this purpose, holes 34 corresponding to fan mounting elements 32 are disposed in mounting wall 10, namely, in such a way that these holes 34 are each configured as a mounting wall cutout. In this regard, see in particular FIG. 2.

[0040] In the present exemplary embodiment, cooking appliance cavity liner 6 is form-fittingly supported at the front of housing 4 in such a way that the attachment of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 to housing 4 is only accomplished through interaction of this support with the aforementioned form-fitting connection of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 to mounting wall 10.

[0041] Furthermore, housing 4 is here designed as a multi-part housing. In a disassembled condition of cooking appliance 2, housing 4 has a housing front frame, and mounting wall 10 has as a separate mounting wall 10 and a separate housing bottom wall 36 and a separate housing top wall 38. At the end of the manufacture of cooking appliance 2, housing 4 is covered by at least one housing cover of housing 4.

[0042] In the following, the functioning of the inventive cooking appliance according to the present exemplary embodiment will be described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 1 through 5.

[0043] Initially, the cooking appliance 2 is in a disassembled state.

[0044] For the purpose of manufacturing cooking appliance 2, the above-mentioned components of cooking appliance 2, among others, are produced and joined together in a manner generally known to those skilled in the art. In this regard, see also the relevant explanations in the introductory part of the description.

[0045] After assembly of these components, cooking device 2 is in the assembled state shown in FIGS. 1 through 4. As already explained above, cooking appliance cavity liner 6 is form-fittingly supported at the front of housing 4 in such a way that the attachment of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 to housing 4 is only accomplished through interaction of this support with the aforementioned form-fitting connection of cooking appliance cavity liner 6 to mounting wall 10. The respective cavity liner mounting element 14 is positioned away from both of the ends that bound mounting hole 16, which is formed as an elongated hole, in the depth dimension, both in the state of non-use of cooking appliance 2 and in all states of use of cooking appliance 2.

[0046] In the aforementioned states of use of cooking appliance 4, cooking appliance cavity liner 6 heats up so that cooking appliance cavity liner 6 expands and thus moves relative to housing 4. As a result, in the prior art, unwanted mechanical stresses can occur between the cooking appliance cavity liner and the housing of the cooking appliance, which can impair the proper functioning of the cooking appliance or even damage the cooking appliance, i.e. the cooking appliance cavity liner and / or the housing. For example, in the case of a cooking appliance cavity liner in the form of an enameled cavity liner, the result may be unwanted chipping of the enamel. This problem is remedied by the invention in accordance with the present exemplary embodiment.

[0047] The inventive design of cooking appliance 2 allows cooking appliance cavity liner 6 to expand along the depth dimension of cooking appliance 2 in all states of use of cooking appliance 2 without causing undesirable and detrimental mechanical stress between cooking appliance cavity liner 6 on one side and housing 4, namely mounting wall 10, on the other side. This is because the mounting holes 16 formed as elongated holes in mounting tabs 8 allow cooking appliance cavity liner 6 to be floatingly mounted relative to housing 4 along the depth dimension of cooking appliance 2. Accordingly, the above-described chipping of the enamel of an enameled cooking appliance cavity liner, for example, is effectively prevented. Thus, cooking appliance cavity liner 6 of cooking appliance 2 can be sufficiently fastened to housing 4 along the depth dimension without impairing the proper functioning of the inventive cooking device 2 due to mechanical stresses, either in the state of non-use or in any of the states of use. Furthermore, the per se undesirable heat conduction from cooking appliance cavity liner 6 toward mounting wall 10 is greatly reduced by the above-described configuration of cooking appliance 2, so that an associated undesirable heat dissipation from cooking appliance cavity liner 6 is effectively prevented. Consequently, this also results in a higher energy efficiency of cooking appliance 2 as compared to the prior art. This is in particular also because mounting tabs 8 and the corresponding lateral tabs 18 are disposed laterally of the cooking appliance cavity liner 6 and thus outside of an airflow generated by fan 30.

[0048] However, the invention is not limited to the present exemplary embodiment.

[0049] In this regard, see also the explanations on alternative or optional features of the invention in the introductory part of the description as well as in the description of the specific exemplary embodiment.

[0050] Accordingly, the invention can also be advantageously applied to other types of cooking appliances. Furthermore, the mounting holes, the further holes, and the holes of mounting wall 10 that correspond to the fan mounting elements can be selected within wide suitable limits in terms of type, production, dimensions, and number. The same applies analogously to the cavity liner mounting elements and to the other connections mentioned above. Thus, one skilled in the art can choose the appropriate technical solution depending on the requirements of the individual case.

[0051] FIG. 5 illustrates the disposition of mounting wall 10 as a part of housing 4. Shown here are bottom wall 36 and rear wall 37 of housing 4. In the embodiment shown, mounting wall 10 is disposed behind cooking appliance cavity liner 6, in particular between cavity liner rear wall 28 and housing rear wall 37.

[0052] In an embodiment of the invention, rear housing wall 37 is configured as the mounting wall 10.

[0053] Analogously to FIG. 2, the sectional view of FIG. 6 clearly shows that a fan 30 is disposed on cavity liner rear wall 28 of cooking appliance 2, which is configured as a household baking oven. A total of three fan mounting elements 32 in the form of mounting brackets are provided on fan 30 for mounting fan motor 31 to fan 30 and thus to cavity liner rear wall 28.

[0054] In the embodiment shown, fan motor 31 is disposed on a different side of mounting wall 10 than cooking appliance cavity liner 6.

[0055] Mounting wall 10 and fan mounting elements 32 are configured to match each other in such a way that in the state of non-use and in all states of use of cooking appliance 2, fan mounting elements 32 are positioned such that they do not contact mounting wall 10. For this purpose, holes 34 corresponding to fan mounting elements 32 are disposed in mounting wall 10, namely, in such a way that these holes 34 are each configured as a mounting wall cutout. In this regard, see also FIG. 2.

[0056] One aspect is that, for example, one or more of the fan mounting elements 32 penetrate(s) the corresponding hole(s) 32 in mounting wall 10. This makes it particularly easy to mount fan motor 31 to fan mounting elements 32.

[0057] While the invention has been illustrated and described in detail in the drawings and foregoing description, such illustration and description are to be considered illustrative or exemplary and not restrictive. It will be understood that changes and modifications may be made by those of ordinary skill within the scope of the following claims. In particular, the present invention covers further embodiments with any combination of features from different embodiments described above and below.
