Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONTechnical Field
[0001] This invention relates to a wig cap and more specifically a secure fitting wig cap that provides extra support to those who suffer from hair loss due to cancer, alopecia, and any other condition that resulted in hair loss. This invention effectively protects the scalp, the hairline and the hair from damaging, thinning, baldness, and breakage as a result of wearing unprotective wig caps and hats. While this invention aims to meet the diverse needs of consumers from cancer patients to those who suffer from hair loss in general, this invention also provides confidence and security to the consumer along with a natural looking finish.Description of the Related Art
[0002] Crochet wig caps are used by people to enhance their appearance with multiple hair styles and to conceal their natural hair or scalp. Crochet wig caps are used for interlocking different types of hair extensions to form a unit that can be secured to a user's natural hair or to cover the scalp. In some cases, people use crochet wig caps to design hairstyles when they are experiencing baldness or thinning of their natural hair. For those experiencing baldness or thinning of natural hair, use of wig caps provide an alternative to use of potentially dangerous hair growth drugs or chemicals, or uncomfortable hair plugs. In other cases, people use wig caps for temporary purposes when they are undergoing medical treatments that result in loss of their hair, such as chemotherapy. Along with interlocking of hair extensions, crochet wig caps provide a user with an alternative to apply hair of multiple colors to improve their appearance, while also providing them the option of changing their hair styles from straight to curly. Just as many people enjoy accessorizing their wardrobe, people who wear wigs enjoy changing and enhancing their appearance.Prior Art
[0003] The problem with crochet wig caps currently on the market is that the foundation for the wig cap isn't stable, especially if you're wearing it with combs or clips. The wig can shift with movement or wind, causing scarring to the scalp, even hair damage, leaving the individual to constantly adjust it while exposing the hairline or scalp. Crochet wig caps currently on the market tend to retreat from the hairline after a few hours of wear due to being stretched out and lack of sufficient stretch memory, thereby exposing the hairline, causing unnecessary breakage or balding of the hairline from constant slipping or movement. People wear wigs for a variety of reasons, including to cover thinning or balding hair, to permit the wearer to look good when the wearer's unable to get their hair styled or unable to style their hair themselves, and to permit the wearer to have a variety of hair styles and lengths without altering their own basic hair length and style. Most crochet caps currently on the market can't provide the wearer with the security they desire when wearing the wig cap due to the crochet wig cap not having a secure snug fit, which can make them feel a bit loose unless you reinforce them with combs, clips, or elastic bands, which results in severe scalp or hair damage.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] The primary object of this invention is to provide a secure fit, comfort, and functionality for individuals experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatments, alopecia, or other medical conditions resulting in hair loss, helping the wearer to maintain dignity and confidence during a difficult time. Another object of this invention is to eliminate the need for traditional weave glues, clips, combs, and tapes preventing discomfort and irritation, providing a natural looking finish for bald wig wearers while ensuring secure and comfortable all-day wear. While originally intended for adults and children struggling with cancer who often experience hair loss, this soft, comfortable, versatile wig cap is also suitable and beneficial for anyone that's seeking a comfortable, reliable base for crochet wig caps, whether for style, convenience, or personal preference and for those who also just want to enjoy a beautiful, natural looking hair style.DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
