The airflow management blanket device is a device formed by a blanket or a sleeping with breathing channels or conduits integrated within the blanket which are filled with breathing exhalation valves. The airflow management blanket device creates an air inlet / outlet conduit between the inside of the enclosure formed by the blanket or sleeping bag around a user and the outside of the enclosure. FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates generally to blankets and sleeping bags. More specifically, the present invention is a piece of fabric in the shape of a blanket or sleeping bag with conduits built in system to improve the dissipation of gases inside a semi-closed environment while protecting the user from external elements.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] For centuries, man has used blankets as tools to preserve body heat in cold environments and to try to isolate his body from undesirable external conditions (cold, insects, dust, bacteria, viruses, light, wind, among others). Despite the fact that over the years the types of fabrics, materials and designs have been improving, the function they have has remained almost unchanged over the centuries.

[0003] The blankets (sheets), despite being efficient to cover users from the neck down, have not allowed users to cover themselves from head to toe, despite the fact that a large amount of the heat that users lose is through the head and that users leave their main resource (the head) exposed to environmental conditions, since if users try to cover themselves with it, given that users exhale a large amount of CO2, the environment becomes suffocating due to the increase in the amount of CO2 and other gases in a semi-closed environment.

[0015] The present invention is a device designed to maximize the benefits that a blanket or sleeping bag can offer to the user by creating a pleasant semi-enclosed environment for the user while isolating the user from external / environmental conditions.

[0016] The present invention is a device formed by a sheet layer 1, wherein the sheet layer 1 further comprises a plurality of channels 12. The sheet layer 1 is one piece of fabric which functions as a blanket or a sleeping bag that can be made in any size, shapes, thickness, material, fabric or color. The plurality of channels 12 are breathing channels integrated into the sheet layer 1, wherein as many as possible may be used as required by the user. Furthermore, the plurality of channels 12 may utilize various types, in any kind of sizes, locations on the sheet layer 1 which can be filled with breathing exhalation vents 121 or not, with the objective of creating an air inlet / outlet conduit between the inside of the enclosure created by the sheet layer 1 and the outside of it, which can ultimately lead to several benefits, as the reduction of harmful gases inside of a semi-closed environment, increase protection against external / environmental conditions while increasing the comfort of the user and even giving the possibility of reducing energy consumption to achieve a pleasant environment for the user.

[0017] In reference to FIG. 1-8, the present invention comprises a sheet layer 1. The sheet layer 1 is a layer of fabric such as a blanket or sheet. The sheet layer 1 comprises a plurality of channels 12. Thus, the plurality of channels 12 enables air to pass through the sheet layer 1. The plurality of channels 12 is integrated within the sheet layer 1. As a result, the plurality of channels 12 connects the air from one side of the sheet layer 1 to the other side of the sheet layer 1. Each of the plurality of channels 12 comprises a vent 121. The vent 121 is designed with plastic, rubber or any other flexible material that does not create irritation on contact with the skin. The vent 121 is configured to filter the air passing through the plurality of channels 12. Further, the plurality of channels 12 traverses through the sheet layer 1.

[0018] Furthermore, the plurality of channels 12 is situated equidistant from each other as seen in FIG. 3. Consequently, this enables the plurality of channels 12 to cover most of the width of the sheet layer 1. The plurality of channels 12 is situated in line to form at least one row 122. This enables the plurality of channels 12 to provide more coverage along the sheet layer 1 with multiple rows if needed.

[0019] In reference to FIG. 1, the vent 121 is positioned along a top side 2 of the sheet layer 1. The top side 2 of the sheet layer 1 is the side of the sheet layer 1 opposite the user. As the user can be covered by the sheet layer 1 from head to toes, reducing the felling of suffocation, it reduces the amount of body heat being wasted and preserves some of that heat in the inside of a semi closed environment which is very beneficial in case of cold weather, leading to a reduction in the amount of heat needed to create a comfortable environment for the user, and therefor, reducing the amount of energy needed to create such environment. The vent 121 is coupled to each of the plurality of channels 12. The vent 121 is bonded to the sheet layer 1 with reinforced thread to prevent 121 ripping of the sheet layer 1. The sheet layer 1 forms a sleeping bag enclosure 3. The sleeping bag enclosure 3 may form a semi-closed environment created by the user when using the sheet layer 1 trying to be covered from head to toes can be polluted by volatile organic compounds. These volatile organic compounds like formaldehyde, or HCHO are one of the many substances that make up total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) formed by natural processes and released during metabolism, as well as CO2, among others, the present invention reduces the concentration of CO2, TVOC and HCHO present in that semi closed environment (the inside of the blanket or sleeping bag), improving the quality of the air being breathed which makes a more comfortable environment for the user.

[0020] The present invention also allows more privacy for the user within the sleeping bag enclosure 3 which is a semi-closed environment. The present invention reduces the amount of light emitted and / or received from the inside / outside of the sheet layer 1, which is especially useful when sharing a bedroom with other people. The user can use different portable devices that emit light restricting it in its semi-closed environment, without interfering with other people around them and vice versa. Further, the present invention reduces the unpleasant odors from the outside and / or from the inside to the outside of the sleeping bag enclosure 3 formed by the sheet layer 1.

[0021] Furthermore, the sleeping bag enclosure 3 comprises a cavity. The cavity is the open area within the sleeping bag enclosure 3 wherein a user may rest within. The cavity further comprises an opening. The opening is a non-vented opening along the front end of the sleeping bag enclosure 3 wherein the user may have a portion of their body positioned.

[0022] In reference to FIG. 2, the sheet layer 1 forms a rectangular shape. The sheet layer 1 may be configured to fit various sized beds. The sheet layer 1 forms a curved shape in an alternative embodiment. Furthermore, the sheet layer 1 forms a shape that conforms to the body shape of the user in yet another alternative embodiment.

2. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 1 wherein the plurality of channels traversing through the sheet layer.

3. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 2 comprising:the plurality of channels being situated equidistant from each other; andthe plurality of channels being situated in line to form at least one row.

4. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 1 wherein the vent being positioned along a top side of the sheet layer.

5. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 1 wherein the vent being coupled to each of the plurality of channels.

6. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 1 wherein the sheet layer forming a sleeping bag enclosure.

7. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 6 comprising:the sleeping bag enclosure comprising a cavity; andthe cavity further comprising an opening.

8. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 1 wherein the sheet layer forming a rectangular shape.

9. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 1 wherein the sheet layer forming a curved shape.

10. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 9 wherein the sheet layer forming a shape that conforms to the body shape of the user.

An airflow management blanket device comprising:a sheet layer;the sheet layer comprising a plurality of channels;the plurality of channels being integrated within the sheet layer;each of the plurality of channels comprising a vent;the plurality of channels traversing through the sheet layer; andthe plurality of channels being situated equidistant from each other.

12. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 11 wherein the plurality of channels being situated in line to form at least one row.

13. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 11 comprising:the vent being positioned along a top side of the sheet layer; andthe vent being coupled to each of the plurality of channels.

14. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 11 comprising:the sheet layer forming a sleeping bag enclosure;the sleeping bag enclosure comprising a cavity; andthe cavity further comprising an opening.

18. The airflow management blanket as claimed in claim 17 wherein the vent being coupled to each of the plurality of channels.
