Abstract
Description
System and method for providing information on temporary parking spaces in parking lots
[0001] The present invention relates to a system and method for providing temporary parking space information in a parking lot.
[0002] Due to the recent rapid increase in the number of vehicles, indoor and outdoor parking lots have become increasingly crowded. When a parking lot is full, drivers typically wait in the parking lot or try to find another parking space. However, if the parking lot is their home or office, they often double-park in that lot instead of parking elsewhere.
[0003] While apartments and officetels with low floor-to-area ratios are less likely to have full parking lots, recently built buildings often have higher floor-to-area ratios but smaller parking spaces. Furthermore, unlike in the past, there's a sharp increase in households owning two or more vehicles, with separate weekday and weekend vehicles, or even individual family members having their own vehicles. This has led to a corresponding increase in the number of double-parked vehicles in parking lots.
[0004] Typically, information about fixed parking spaces within a parking lot, i.e. the number of vehicles that can be parked in the fixed parking spaces within the parking lot and the location of the available fixed parking spaces, is provided through various means such as an interface within the parking lot, sensors, or user terminals to provide drivers with parking convenience.
[0005] In contrast, double parking does not provide any information regarding the number of vehicles eligible for double parking or the locations where it is permitted. Consequently, drivers are forced to determine whether double parking is possible and where to park each time they need to, which is inconvenient. Furthermore, the lack of information regarding double parking significantly increases parking lot congestion as the number of double-parked vehicles increases.
[0006] The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a system and method for providing temporary parking space information in a parking lot, which can improve the convenience of parking for drivers by creating temporary parking space information for areas where double parking is possible in addition to fixed parking space information in the parking lot and providing the information to a user terminal.
[0007] However, the problems to be solved by the present invention are not limited to the problems described above, and other problems may exist.
[0008] A method for providing temporary parking space information in a parking lot according to a first aspect of the present invention for solving the above-described problem includes the steps of: generating temporary parking space information in which a vehicle can be temporarily parked in the parking lot based on information of the parking lot including fixed parking space information generated by a predetermined method; and providing the temporary parking space information to a user terminal.
[0009] In some embodiments of the present invention, the step of generating temporary parking space information may include the step of extracting double parking information of a vehicle from past parking data collected within the parking lot; and the step of applying the double parking information to a predetermined artificial intelligence algorithm to generate optimized temporary parking space information.
[0010] In some embodiments of the present invention, the double parking information may include location information of a double-parked vehicle, vehicle spacing information, direction information of a double-parked vehicle, road width information within the parking lot, and exit time information of a double-parked vehicle and a fixedly parked vehicle.
[0011] In some embodiments of the present invention, the vehicle spacing information may include spacing information between double-parked vehicles and spacing information between double-parked vehicles and vehicles parked in fixed parking spaces.
[0012] In some embodiments of the present invention, the step of generating temporary parking space information may generate variable temporary parking space information corresponding to parking information of a vehicle double-parked in the parking lot.
[0013] In some embodiments of the present invention, the step of generating temporary parking space information may include: a step of confirming the location of a double-parked vehicle within the parking lot; a step of generating a first temporary parking space corresponding to the location and area of the double-parked vehicle; and a step of generating at least one other second temporary parking space in an adjacent area based on the first temporary parking space.
[0014] In some embodiments of the present invention, the step of generating temporary parking space information may include: when a vehicle is double-parked in a part, but not all, of a first temporary parking space in the temporary parking space information generated for the parking lot, a step of checking whether the same vehicle is located in a second temporary parking space adjacent to the first temporary parking space; when the same vehicle is located in the first and second temporary parking spaces as a result of the checking, a step of changing a part of the first temporary parking space and a part of the second temporary parking space to a new first temporary parking space; and a step of updating the temporary parking space information by generating another second temporary parking space based on the new first temporary parking space.
[0015] In some embodiments of the present invention, the step of providing the temporary parking space information to the user terminal may provide the temporary parking space information to the user terminal when at least one of the following applies: when the fixed parking space information in the parking lot is full, when a double-parked vehicle is detected in the parking lot, and when a specific time condition is satisfied.
[0016] In some embodiments of the present invention, the step of generating temporary parking space information may include the step of confirming whether a vehicle is parked in a temporary parking space corresponding to the temporary parking space information generated for the parking lot; the step of performing PTZ control of a camera so that a blind spot is captured when it is confirmed that a vehicle is not parked in the generated temporary parking space; and the step of additionally updating the confirmed new temporary parking space to the temporary parking space information when a new temporary parking space is confirmed through an image captured as a result of the PTZ control.
[0017] In addition, a system for providing temporary parking space information in a parking lot according to a second aspect of the present invention includes a communication module for transmitting and receiving data with a user terminal and transmitting and receiving data with at least one of a camera and a sensor installed in the parking lot, a memory storing a program for generating temporary parking space information where a vehicle can be temporarily parked in the parking lot, and a processor for generating the temporary parking space information based on information of a parking lot including fixed parking space information by executing the program stored in the memory, and providing the temporary parking space information to the user terminal through the communication module.
[0018] In addition, a computer program according to another aspect of the present invention is coupled with a computer as hardware to execute a method for providing temporary parking space information in the parking lot, and is stored in a computer-readable recording medium.
[0019] Other specific details of the present invention are included in the detailed description and drawings.
[0020] According to the present invention described above, it is possible to provide drivers with temporary parking space information including not only the fullness status of the parking lot, but also the number of currently double-parked vehicles, the location of the double-parked vehicles, the expected location and number of temporary parking spaces where double parking is possible, and thereby enable drivers to more conveniently perform double parking.
[0021] In addition, it has the advantage of being able to provide variable temporary parking space information considering the current double parking situation rather than temporary parking space information at a fixed location, and also being able to provide optimized temporary parking space information considering past parking data.
[0022] In addition, it is possible to provide more accurate double parking status information by identifying double parking in blind spots within the parking lot.
[0023] The effects of the present invention are not limited to the effects mentioned above, and other effects not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the description below.

[0035] Hereinafter, a method for providing temporary parking space information in a parking lot according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 7.
[0036] Figure 1 is a flowchart of a method for providing temporary parking space information in a parking lot according to one embodiment of the present invention. While each step illustrated in Figure 1 may be understood to be performed by a system (100) for providing temporary parking space information in a parking lot, described below, the present invention is not necessarily limited thereto.
[0037] A method for providing temporary parking space information in a parking lot according to one embodiment of the present invention first generates temporary parking space information for which temporary parking is possible in the parking lot based on information of the parking lot including fixed parking space information generated by a predetermined method (S110).
[0038] In one embodiment, the information of the parking lot may include a parking lot map, and the parking lot map may include information such as fixed parking space information (number of fixed parking spaces, number of vehicles currently parked in fixed parking spaces), passageways, and the floor on which the parking lot is located.
[0039] At this time, the parking lot information may be generated by a temporary parking space information providing server or may be information received from a separate server.
[0040] FIG. 2a and FIG. 2b are drawings for explaining a fixed parking area and a temporary parking area in one embodiment of the present invention.
[0041] In the description of the present invention, a fixed parking area (210) means an area in a parking lot where a dividing line for parking a vehicle is drawn.
[0042] A temporary parking space (220) is an area other than a fixed parking space (210), and refers to an area where vehicles have previously been double-parked, or an area where double parking is possible. As illustrated in FIG. 2b, a temporary parking space is preferably created in an area adjacent to a fixed parking space, but is not necessarily limited thereto. If vehicle traffic (one-way or cross-traffic) is possible within a passageway, a temporary parking space can be created in a location that takes traffic into consideration, even if it is not adjacent to a fixed parking space.
[0043] In one embodiment, temporary parking spaces may be marked to distinguish them from fixed parking spaces. In the example of Fig. 2a, fixed and temporary parking spaces may be distinguished from each other through line distinctions (e.g., solid and dotted lines), letter distinctions (e.g., the letter "임" in the case of temporary parking spaces), transparency, color, diagonal lines, etc. Alternatively, temporary parking spaces may be marked as parking areas rather than as vehicle-specific parking zone lines, unlike fixed parking spaces.
[0044] In addition, in one embodiment of the present invention, when a vehicle is parked in a fixed parking space or a temporary parking space, the parking space may be marked to be distinguished from an unparked parking space through color, etc.
[0045] Next, temporary parking space information is provided to a user terminal (S120). In one embodiment, the user terminal may be a mobile terminal such as a smartphone or a tablet PC, or may be the vehicle's infotainment system itself. In this case, in the case of a mobile terminal such as a smartphone, temporary parking space information may be received through a pre-installed application. In addition, in the case where the user terminal is a mobile terminal such as a smartphone and the vehicle's infotainment system, the vehicle infotainment system may receive temporary parking space information from the mobile terminal, or may receive it directly from a server through the vehicle's operating system. Meanwhile, the temporary parking space information may of course be provided to the user terminal together with fixed parking space information.
[0046] FIGS. 3A and 3B are diagrams illustrating conditions for providing temporary parking space information in one embodiment of the present invention. FIGS. 4A and 4B are diagrams illustrating an example of providing temporary parking space information to a user terminal in one embodiment of the present invention.
[0047] In one embodiment, the present invention can provide temporary parking space information to a user terminal when a vehicle parked in a fixed parking space within a parking lot is full (320), based on fixed parking space information within the parking lot. That is, if there are empty fixed parking spaces within the parking lot, it is preferable to encourage parking in the fixed parking space instead of double parking, and thus temporary parking space information may not be provided (310). Conversely, even if the fixed parking space is not full, if temporary parking, such as double parking, occurs in front of a specific fixed parking space, the occupancy status of the fixed parking space may be affected, such as changing to occupied.
[0048] In another embodiment, the present invention can provide temporary parking space information to a user terminal when a double-parked vehicle is detected in a parking lot. In this case, the double-parked vehicle can be detected using a camera or sensor installed in the parking lot.
[0049] For example, fixed parking spaces near building entrances within a parking lot are quickly filled, while fixed parking spaces farther away from the entrance are relatively more slowly filled. In some cases, double parking may occur near an entrance even when all fixed parking spaces are not full, or double parking may occur simultaneously with parking in the last remaining fixed parking space. In such cases, when double-parked vehicles occur, the possibility of additional double-parking increases, so it is necessary to provide drivers with information about temporary parking spaces. Therefore, when a double-parked vehicle is detected, temporary parking space information can be provided to the user terminal.
[0050] In another embodiment, the present invention can provide temporary parking space information to user terminals when specific time conditions are met. For example, in apartment complexes, the number of parking spaces increases rapidly after work hours (after 6 PM). Therefore, temporary parking space information can be provided to user terminals between 6 PM and 7 AM, regardless of whether fixed parking spaces are full.
[0051] The three embodiments of providing the aforementioned temporary parking space information to the user terminal can be performed independently, and in some cases, two or more conditions can be applied together to perform the same.
[0052] Referring to FIGS. 4A and 4B , one embodiment of the present invention can provide temporary parking space information through a pre-installed application of a user terminal or a vehicle operating system. Upon execution of the application, parking lots can be automatically displayed based on a user's selection or location information of the vehicle or user terminal. The displayed parking lot information basically includes information on fixed parking spaces, such as the number of parked vehicles (410) compared to the total number of fixed parking spaces, the number of available parking spaces (420), the location of the fixed parking spaces (430), and whether each fixed parking space is available for parking.
[0053] At this time, when the provision conditions for temporary parking space information are satisfied, temporary parking space information is displayed on the user terminal. The temporary parking space information includes information on each location of a temporary parking space set by an administrator or pre-analyzed and generated by a server, whether parking is performed at that location (440), and information on the number of vehicles parked compared to the total number of temporary parking spaces generated (450). This information is displayed on the user terminal.
[0054] In one embodiment, information on the number of vehicles parked compared to the total number of temporary parking spaces may be displayed as a percentage (e.g., 90%, 60%, 30%) or as a number.
[0055] In one embodiment, if a parking lot has a preset area or more, or if the number of fixed parking spaces is a preset number or more, the parking lot map may be divided into each area, and information (fixed parking space information and temporary parking space information) of the detailed parking lot corresponding to the detailed parking lot map divided into each area may be provided. For example, in the case of an underground parking lot of an apartment complex consisting of buildings 101 to 105, the detailed parking lot map may be set up as Zone 1 based on Building 101, Zone 2 based on Building 102, etc., and information of the detailed parking lots may be provided. Alternatively, information of the detailed parking lot based on the area currently displayed on the application may be provided based on the user's input for zooming in / out.
[0056] FIG. 5 is a drawing for explaining the content of generating temporary parking space information using an artificial intelligence algorithm in one embodiment of the present invention.
[0057] In one embodiment, the present invention can collect past statistical data (510) and apply it to an artificial intelligence algorithm (520) to generate and provide optimized temporary parking space information (530, 540).
[0058] That is, double parking information of a vehicle can be extracted from past parking data collected within a parking lot (510), and the double parking information can be applied to a predetermined artificial intelligence algorithm (520) to generate optimized temporary parking space information (530).
[0059] Here, double parking information extracted from past parking data may include location information of double-parked vehicles, vehicle spacing information, direction information of double-parked vehicles, road width information within the parking lot, and exit time information of double-parked vehicles and fixedly parked vehicles.
[0060] For example, temporary parking space information can be generated by extracting location information such as the first and second locations of vehicles that were double-parked in the past and applying this to an artificial intelligence algorithm to include double-parked location information such as the first and second locations. At this time, the information can be generated to include all of the locations where double-parked in the past, but preferably, the temporary parking space information can be generated based on the location information by taking into account the road width information within the parking lot (considering one-way or cross-traffic lanes, width, and length of the lanes).
[0061] As another example, temporary parking space information can be generated by considering the spacing information of double-parked vehicles in the past, i.e., the first spacing information between double-parked vehicles, and the second spacing information between double-parked vehicles and vehicles parked in fixed parking spaces.
[0062] Based on the first spacing information, the total number of temporary parking spaces in the parking lot can be calculated, and the application of temporary parking spaces can be determined by considering the second spacing information. For example, temporary parking spaces can be generated in the remaining area excluding fixed parking spaces by applying the average of spacing information between individual vehicles (such as the overall average or the average for each detailed parking lot). In addition, the second spacing information can be additionally applied to generate temporary parking spaces, and the final temporary parking space information can be determined by excluding temporary parking spaces corresponding to areas that are impassable by considering the road width information within the parking lot according to the fixed parking spaces in the generated temporary parking spaces.
[0063] Additionally, optimized temporary parking space information can be generated by considering the direction information of double-parked vehicles, i.e., the double parking direction such as vertical, horizontal, or diagonal, based on the parking direction of the vehicle in the structure or fixed parking space within the parking lot.
[0064] Additionally, information on the exit times of double-parked and fixed-parked vehicles can be extracted from past parking data and applied to an AI algorithm to generate temporary parking space information that takes into account the expected exit times. For example, considering parking lot entry and exit records, temporary parking spaces adjacent to fixed parking spaces used only on weekends can be marked as areas where double parking is always available on weekdays. Conversely, temporary parking spaces can be excluded for areas adjacent to fixed parking spaces where vehicles are always allowed to exit when the fixed parking space is full or when temporary parking space information is displayed.
[0065] In some embodiments, when a vehicle's exit history within a parking lot has accumulated, an AI algorithm can be used to recommend a temporary parking space optimized for the vehicle with such a history. For example, considering the driver's home address and vehicle entry / exit patterns based on time, a temporary parking space can be recommended to the driver of the vehicle within a sub-parking lot corresponding to the common entrance of the home that does not interfere with, or does not interfere with, vehicles parked in fixed parking spaces or other temporary parking spaces. This allows the driver to double-park and exit the vehicle without, as much as possible, restrictions on the exit of vehicles in adjacent fixed parking spaces and double parking spaces relative to their own double-parked vehicle.
[0066] FIG. 6 is a drawing for explaining the content of providing variable temporary parking space information in one embodiment of the present invention.
[0067] In one embodiment, the present invention can generate variable temporary parking space information corresponding to parking information of a vehicle double-parked in a parking lot (610→620).
[0068] For example, the location of a double-parked vehicle in a parking lot is identified, and a first temporary parking space corresponding to the location and area of the double-parked vehicle is created. Thereafter, at least one other second temporary parking space can be created in an adjacent area based on the first temporary parking space. If temporary parking space information is not previously created before the vehicle is double-parked, the first temporary parking space can be created when the double-parked vehicle is detected, and a second temporary parking space can be created based on the first temporary parking space, thereby generating the entire temporary parking space information for the parking lot.
[0069] In contrast, before a vehicle is double-parked, temporary parking space information is generated in advance according to the aforementioned method, and when a double-parked vehicle is detected thereafter, corresponding first temporary parking spaces and second temporary parking spaces are generated, thereby modifying and updating the previously generated temporary parking spaces.
[0070] That is, if a vehicle is double-parked in part, but not all, of the first temporary parking space in the temporary parking space information generated for the parking lot, it is checked whether the same vehicle is located in a second temporary parking space adjacent to the first temporary parking space. If the result of the check indicates that the same vehicle is located in the first and second temporary parking spaces, part of the first temporary parking space and part of the second temporary parking space can be changed to a new first temporary parking space. In response, another second temporary parking space can be generated based on the new first temporary parking space, and the temporary parking space information can be updated.
[0071] FIG. 7 is a drawing for explaining the contents of generating temporary parking space information for a blind spot in one embodiment of the present invention.
[0072] Parking lots are equipped with multiple cameras to detect whether vehicles are parked in fixed parking spaces and for other purposes. These cameras are primarily positioned to detect fixed parking spaces. Some areas without fixed parking spaces may be blind spots (710). Furthermore, depending on parking lot conditions, all cameras may not be able to cover all fixed parking spaces.
[0073] If a blind spot (710) of such a camera exists, temporary parking space information cannot be generated for the blind spot (710). In other words, past parking data for the blind spot (710) cannot be collected, temporary parking spaces cannot be generated, and it is also impossible to determine whether double parking is currently occurring.
[0074] To address these issues, one embodiment of the present invention verifies whether a vehicle is parked in a temporary parking space corresponding to temporary parking space information generated for a parking lot. If it is determined that no vehicle is parked in the generated temporary parking space, PTZ control is performed so that the blind spot (710') is captured. Then, if a new temporary parking space is identified through the captured image as a result of PTZ control, the identified new temporary parking space can be added to the existing temporary parking space information to update it (720).
[0075] For example, if a fixed parking space is full and the temporary parking space information confirms that several vehicles are parked, and a vehicle entry / exit record exists but the temporary parking space information does not, the vehicle in question cannot be considered a double-parked vehicle in the temporary parking space corresponding to the temporary parking space information. In other words, in this case, it is determined that a blind spot exists, and the blind spot is captured through the PTZ control of the camera to detect the vehicle in question. Then, the double-parked location of the detected vehicle can be added to the temporary parking space.
[0076] Additionally, one embodiment of the present invention may generate first temporary parking space information based on first double-parked vehicle information for a first time period (e.g., one week or one month). Then, second double-parked vehicle information may be acquired for a second time period following the first time period, and second temporary parking space information may be generated based on this information.
[0077] Next, the first temporary parking space information and the second temporary parking space information are compared, and a predetermined positive weight is given to temporary parking spaces (or areas) that match the comparison results, and a predetermined negative weight is given to areas that do not match.
[0078] Subsequently, when generating temporary parking space information for the third time, the temporary parking space can be applied by reflecting each weight. This allows for more accurately predicted temporary parking space information to be generated and provided to drivers by incorporating actual driver double-parking information in addition to the temporary parking spaces analyzed and predicted by the server.
[0079] At this time, after a certain period of time has elapsed (for example, after the 10th hour has elapsed), the temporary parking space or area weight is checked, and temporary parking spaces with a weight below a certain threshold are very likely to be areas that drivers rarely actually use (in other words, areas with a high risk of accidents), so they can be excluded from temporary parking space information to be generated later.
[0080] Meanwhile, in the above description, steps S110 to S120 may be further divided into additional steps or combined into fewer steps, depending on the implementation of the present invention. Furthermore, some steps may be omitted as needed, and the order of steps may be changed. Furthermore, even if other details are omitted, the contents of FIGS. 1 to 7 may also be applied to the contents of the temporary parking space information provision system (100) in FIG. 8, which will be described later.
[0081] Figure 8 is a block diagram of a temporary parking space information providing system (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0082] A temporary parking space information provision system (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a communication module (110), a memory (120), and a processor (130).
[0083] The communication module (110) transmits and receives data with a user terminal, and transmits and receives data with at least one of the cameras and sensors installed in the parking lot. The communication module (110) may include both a wired communication module and a wireless communication module. The wired communication module may be implemented as a power line communication device, a telephone line communication device, a cable home (MoCA), Ethernet, IEEE1294, an integrated wired home network, and an RS-485 control device. In addition, the wireless communication module may be implemented as a wireless LAN (WLAN), Bluetooth, HDR WPAN, UWB, ZigBee, Impulse Radio, 60GHz WPAN, Binary-CDMA, wireless USB technology, and wireless HDMI technology.
[0084] A program for generating temporary parking space information for temporary parking of a vehicle in a parking lot is stored in the memory (120), and the processor (130) executes the program stored in the memory (120).
[0085] Here, memory (120) refers to a general term for non-volatile storage devices and volatile storage devices that maintain stored information even when power is not supplied. For example, memory (120) may include NAND flash memory such as a compact flash (CF) card, an SD (secure digital) card, a memory stick, a solid-state drive (SSD), and a micro SD card, magnetic computer storage devices such as a hard disk drive (HDD), and optical disc drives such as a CD-ROM and a DVD-ROM.
[0086] The processor (130) generates temporary parking space information based on information of a parking lot including fixed parking space information, and provides the temporary parking space information to a user terminal through a communication module (110).
[0087] The method for providing temporary parking space information in a parking lot according to one embodiment of the present invention described above can be implemented as a program (or application) to be executed in conjunction with a computer as hardware and stored in a medium.
[0088] The above-described program may include codes coded in a computer language, such as C, C++, JAVA, Ruby, or machine language, that can be read by the processor (CPU) of the computer through the device interface of the computer, so that the computer reads the program and executes the methods implemented as a program. Such codes may include functional codes related to functions that define functions necessary to execute the methods, and may include control codes related to execution procedures necessary for the processor of the computer to execute the functions according to a predetermined procedure. In addition, such codes may further include memory reference-related codes regarding which location (address address) of the internal or external memory of the computer should reference additional information or media necessary for the processor of the computer to execute the functions. In addition, if the processor of the computer needs to communicate with any other computer or server located remotely in order to execute the functions, the code may further include communication-related code regarding how to communicate with any other computer or server located remotely using the communication module of the computer, and what information or media to send and receive during communication.
[0089] The above storage medium refers to a medium that stores data semi-permanently and can be read by a device, rather than a medium that stores data for a short period of time, such as a register, cache, or memory. Specifically, examples of the storage medium include, but are not limited to, ROM, RAM, CD-ROM, magnetic tape, floppy disk, and optical data storage device. That is, the program can be stored in various recording media on various servers that the computer can access or in various recording media on the user's computer. In addition, the medium can be distributed across network-connected computer systems, so that computer-readable code can be stored in a distributed manner.
[0090] The foregoing description of the present invention is for illustrative purposes only, and those skilled in the art will readily appreciate that the present invention can be readily modified into other specific forms without altering the technical spirit or essential characteristics of the present invention. Therefore, the embodiments described above should be understood as illustrative in all respects and not restrictive. For example, each component described as a single entity may be implemented in a distributed manner, and similarly, components described as distributed may be implemented in a combined manner.
[0091] The scope of the present invention is indicated by the claims described below rather than the detailed description above, and all changes or modifications derived from the meaning and scope of the claims and their equivalent concepts should be interpreted as being included in the scope of the present invention.
