Abstract
Description
3D printer cartridges
[0001] The present invention relates to a 3D printer cartridge, and more particularly, to a detachable 3D printer cartridge for supplying liquid materials to a 3D printer for producing a 3D object.
[0002] 3D printing technology has developed and is being utilized in many industrial fields. In particular, 3D printers that use photocuring can be used to easily produce precise 3D objects.
[0003] A typical photocuring 3D printer creates a 3D object by continuously repeating the process of placing a photocurable liquid material inside a tank, irradiating light onto a work plate, and adjusting the height of the work plate.
[0004] However, the 3D printer of the above-described type has the disadvantage of taking a lot of time because the liquid material remaining inside the tank after producing a 3D object cannot be reused, and the tank and the liquid material remaining inside the tank must be cleaned in order to produce the next object after producing one object.
[0005] In order to solve these problems, the applicant has applied for and received registration of a 3D printer (Patent No. 10-2378863) comprising a liquid material supply unit (10), a liquid layer forming unit (20), and a 3D forming unit (30), as shown in Fig. 1.
[0006] The above liquid material supply unit (10) is a unit that supplies a liquid material (R) for manufacturing a three-dimensional object, the above liquid layer forming unit (20) is a unit that forms a liquid layer (L) for forming each layer of the three-dimensional object, and the above three-dimensional forming unit (30) is a unit that hardens the liquid material (R) by irradiating the liquid layer (L) with a forming beam (UV-L) in a pattern corresponding to the shape of the three-dimensional object.
[0007] The above liquid material (R) has a predetermined viscosity, and the cartridge (11) is configured so that the lower part is open and the liquid material (R) can be filled and used.
[0008] However, in order to charge the liquid material (R) into the cartridge (11), there was a problem in that air bubbles were generated in the liquid material (R) having a predetermined viscosity during the process of inverting the cartridge (11) after charging the liquid material (R) with the open lower portion of the cartridge (11) facing upward, and there was a disadvantage in that a long stabilization time was required to completely discharge the air bubbles.
[0009] Prior art document: Patent No. 10-2378863 (registration date: March 22, 2022)

[0082] The above cartridge (100) is configured to include a housing (110) and a cover (130), as shown in FIG. 5.
[0083] The housing (110), as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, is configured to include a chamber (111a to 111e) in which a liquid material (R) is filled, a piston (112) that seals the lower portion of the chamber (111a to 111e), a discharge port (113a to 113e) formed at the upper portion of the chamber (111a to 111e), and a discharge groove (114a to 114e) formed on the upper surface to be connected to the discharge port (113a to 113e), and the cover (130) is configured to be in close contact with the upper surface of the housing (110).
[0084] Accordingly, the liquid material (R) filled in the chamber (111a to 111e) is discharged through the discharge port (113a to 113e) and then can move through the flow path formed between the discharge groove (114a to 114e) formed on the upper surface of the housing (110) and the lower surface of the cover (130).
[0085]
[0086] First, the configuration of the housing (110) will be described in detail.
[0087] As shown in FIGS. 5 to 7, the housing (110) is configured to include a plurality of chambers (111a to 111e) in which liquid material (R) is filled, a plurality of pistons (112) that seal the lower portions of the plurality of chambers (111a to 111e), a plurality of discharge ports (113a to 113e) formed on the upper portions of the plurality of chambers (111a to 111e), and discharge grooves (114a to 114e) formed on the upper surface and connected to each of the plurality of discharge ports (113a to 113e).
[0088] In this embodiment, a case in which the first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e), the first to fifth discharge ports (113a to 113e), and the first to fifth discharge grooves (114a to 114e) are configured is described as an example, and the number of chambers, discharge ports, and discharge grooves can be changed and applied in various ways.
[0089] The above housing (110) is formed to have a body having a roughly square box shape, and the inside of the body is configured with first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e) filled with a liquid material (R).
[0090] The first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e) are each formed in a shape with an open bottom, and a piston (112) is individually provided at the bottom of each of the first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e).
[0091] The piston (112) is configured to seal the open lower portions of the first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e), and as illustrated in FIG. 11, as the piston (112) is slidably pressed toward the inside of the chambers (111a to 111e), the liquid material (R) filled in the first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e) can be discharged through the discharge ports (113a to 113e). The liquid material (R) discharged through the discharge ports (113a to 113e) flows into the discharge grooves (114a to 114e).
[0092] The pistons (112) individually provided in the open lower portions of the first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e) are operated up and down by the operating parts (12.1, 12.2, 12.3), and each piston (112) can be operated alone or multiple pistons can be operated simultaneously.
[0093] Meanwhile, the piston (112), as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, may be configured to include a pair of extension parts (112-1) extending downward from both sides of the lower surface and a pair of catch parts (112-2) extending from the ends of the pair of extension parts (112-1) toward the center, and an O-ring (O) may be provided on the outer periphery.
[0094] Accordingly, when the pusher unit (12.3) is inserted between a pair of extensions (112-1) of the piston (112), the piston (112) can also move up and down when the reciprocating movement unit (12.2) moves up and down.
[0095] The piston (112) operates to discharge the liquid material (R) filled in the chambers (111a to 111e) when moving upward, and operates to return to the original position after all of the liquid material (R) in the chambers (111a to 111e) has been discharged.
[0096] Meanwhile, the O-ring (O) is made of a hard material, and in order to facilitate the installation of the O-ring, as shown in (b) of FIG. 8, the piston (112) may be configured to be separated into an upper part (112P1) and a lower part (112P2) so that they can be assembled, and O-rings (O1, O2) may be provided between the upper part (112P1) and the lower part (112P2) corresponding to the circumference of the piston (112) and between the lower surface of the upper part (112P1) and the upper surface of the lower part (112P2), respectively.
[0097] Accordingly, when the upper part (112P1) and the lower part (112P2) are separated and the O-rings (O1, O2) are installed, the upper part (112P1) and the lower part (112P2) can be assembled to form one piston (112).
[0098] Meanwhile, as illustrated in Fig. 5, a first discharge port (113a) is formed connected to the upper portion of the first chamber (111a), and a first discharge groove (114a) is formed connected to the first discharge port (113a). When the piston (112) provided in the open lower portion of the first chamber (111a) moves upward, the liquid material (R) filled in the first chamber (111a) is discharged through the first discharge port (113a) and then moves through the first discharge groove (114a).
[0099] In addition, a second discharge port (113b) is formed connected to the upper portion of the second chamber (111b), and a second discharge groove (114b) is formed connected to the second discharge port (113b). When the piston (112) provided in the open lower portion of the second chamber (111b) moves upward, the liquid material (R) filled in the second chamber (111b) is discharged through the second discharge port (113b) and then moves through the second discharge groove (114b).
[0100] In addition, a third discharge port (113c) is formed connected to the upper portion of the third chamber (111c), and a third discharge groove (114c) is formed connected to the third discharge port (113c). When the piston (112) provided in the open lower portion of the third chamber (111c) moves upward, the liquid material (R) filled in the third chamber (111c) is discharged through the third discharge port (113c) and then moves through the third discharge groove (114c).
[0101] In addition, a fourth discharge port (113d) is formed connected to the upper portion of the fourth chamber (111d), and a fourth discharge groove (114d) is formed connected to the fourth discharge port (113d). When the piston (112) provided in the open lower portion of the fourth chamber (111d) moves upward, the liquid material (R) filled in the fourth chamber (111d) is discharged through the fourth discharge port (113d) and then moves through the fourth discharge groove (114d).
[0102] In addition, a fifth discharge port (113e) is formed connected to the upper portion of the fifth chamber (111e), and a fifth discharge groove (114e) is formed connected to the fifth discharge port (113e). When the piston (112) provided in the open lower portion of the fifth chamber (111e) moves upward, the liquid material (R) filled in the fifth chamber (111e) is discharged through the fifth discharge port (113e) and then moves through the fifth discharge groove (114e).
[0103] Meanwhile, when the liquid material (R) moves through the first to fifth discharge grooves (114a to 114e), the upper portions of the first to fifth discharge grooves (114a to 114e) are blocked by the cover (130), so the liquid material (R) flowing into the first to fifth discharge grooves (114a to 114e) moves through a flow path formed between the first to fifth discharge grooves (114a to 114e) and the lower surface of the cover (130).
[0104] Meanwhile, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, a joining groove (115) may be further formed on the upper surface of the housing (110) where the ends of the first internal fifth discharge grooves (114a to 114e) all join, and an island-shaped protrusion (116) protruding to the upper height of the joining groove (115) may be formed in the center of the joining groove (115) for the purpose of distributing discharge pressure.
[0105] Accordingly, the liquid material (R) moving through at least one or a plurality of discharge grooves (114a to 114e) of the first internal fifth discharge grooves (114a to 114e) can be discharged to the discharge port (130h) of the cover (130) in a state where the discharge amount is distributed by joining the joining groove (115).
[0106] Meanwhile, an air vent hole (h1) for discharging air bubbles generated when filling the liquid material (R) into the first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e) may be formed in at least a portion of the first internal fifth discharge groove (114a to 114e).

For example, the second to fifth discharge grooves (114b to 114e) may be configured such that they join the first discharge groove (114a).
[0122] Accordingly, the liquid material (R) in the first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e) is discharged through the first to fifth discharge ports (113a to 113e) respectively connected to the first to fifth chambers (111a to 111e), and the liquid material (R) discharged from the second to fifth discharge grooves (114b to 114e) joins the liquid material (R) passing through the first discharge groove (114a).
[0123] Meanwhile, a buffer groove (117) is further formed at the end of the first discharge groove (114a), and the liquid material (R) that has joined the first discharge groove (114a) is collected in the buffer groove (117) and then discharged through the discharge port (130h).
[0124] The connecting portion of the buffer groove (117) communicating with the discharge port (130h) is formed corresponding to the shape of the slit-shaped discharge port (130h), and an island-shaped protrusion (116) protruding to the upper height of the buffer groove (117) may be formed in the center of the buffer groove (117) for the purpose of distributing discharge pressure.
[0125] Meanwhile, the second to fifth discharge grooves (114b to 114e) joining the first discharge groove (114) may be configured to join each other alternately.
[0126] According to the configuration described above, the liquid material (R) that reaches the buffer groove (117) through one discharge groove (114a) is discharged through the island-shaped protrusion (116) to the discharge port (130h), thereby enabling effective discharge pressure distribution.
