AI Technical Summary
Current methods for transmitting electricity from offshore renewable energy projects, such as floating solar and wind turbines, rely on expensive submarine cables, which are costly to install, maintain, and can harm marine ecosystems due to corrosion and wildlife interactions, and lack flexibility in transmission.
The development of floating power transmission towers, composed of prefabricated metal truss structures and concrete blocks anchored to the seafloor, allowing for overhead high-voltage power line transmission across seas and oceans, reducing costs and environmental impact.
This solution provides a cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and easily maintainable method for transmitting electricity over long distances, enabling efficient power distribution between countries and islands while minimizing ecological harm.

Abstract
Description
Floating transmission power tower
[0001] This is a floating power transmission tower invention that connects power distribution networks through seas, oceans and lakes. This is a new method for transferring electricity from one region to another through global waters.
[0002] 1- The electricity transmission column is mainly used for high pressure electricity transmission inside and outside the towns.
[0003] 2- By the fast development of floating structures such as floating solar projects, floating wind turbine projects to produce renewable energy in the sea, the need to transfer the electricity produced from these projects to the coast became a vital need. For the time being, submarine cables is the only way to transmit electricity to the shore (if these projects are offshore).
[0004] 3- If the floating solar projects are onshore, the power transmission will be sent to the shore through cables which are connected to plastic floating buoys.
[0005] 4- If we want to transfer electricity from one country to another through sea, the only available way will be through submarine cables. Since these cables are so expensive, if we want to use 1000 meters of submarine cable, it will cost 5 million dollars. This method has high costs for countries.Summary
[0006] The main goal of this invention is to produce a new generation of floating power transmission tower through the sea and oceans, which enables the transmission of electricity from one place to another. In addition to its easy and rapid implementation, it increases the reliability factor and also lowers the cost of electricity transmission.
[0007] These floating power towers are a combination of concrete and metal structures that are prefabricated in the factory and are fixed to each other by bolts and nuts, quickly at the project site.Tech Problem
[0008] 1- In offshore areas, the only technic of electricity transmission in renewable energy projects is submarine cables.
[0009] 2- The cost of producing and implementing submarine power transmission cables is so high.
[0010] 3-Repairing and maintaining submarine cables costs a lot
[0011] 4- There is a possibility of corrosion through injury
[0012] 5- There is a possibility of submarine cables being chewed by sharks and whales
[0013] 6- Since there are electric frequencies and radiation around these cables, there are many harmful environmental effects on the marine ecosystem.Solution
[0014] Floating power transmission towers are long metal structures that are produced as truss structures as prefabricated metal parts in the factory. They also have many floating pontoons .On the other hand, the rigging of these rigs is connected to the prefabricated cement blocks by cables or chains, placed on the sea floor.
[0015] A floating power transmission tower transmits electricity from one area of the sea to another through the air. In power networks, these masts can be used to transmit high voltage power lines. Electric poles are used to support low voltage transmission and distribution sub-lines that transmit power from substations to clients.
[0016] Many island countries have a special position to produce and export electricity. For example, Australia has the potential to produce electricity through offshore projects that can launch solar projects and floating wind turbines, and the electricity produced in this way also meets its demands. Also, it can export electricity to neighboring countries like Singapore through sea.Advantageous Effects
[0017] 1- These rigs have very light weight
[0018] 2- Fast production, installation and implementation
[0019] 3- It does not cause an environmental risk to the sea ecosystem
[0020] 4- After installation, they can be moved for whatsoever reasons.
[0021] 5- The cost of production, installation and implementation is lower
[0022] 6- According to the opinion of clients, construction and design are available in different sizes & for different uses.
[0023] 7- It is very easy to repair and maintain them.
[0024] Fig.1
[0025] In this picture, you can see a number of floating Transmission power towers that are anchoring by cable No 10 to concrete block .
[0026] Fig.2
[0027] In this picture, you can see two floating power towers, each of which is individually braced to the sea floor by cable number 10, as you can see, these towers get their electricity through power transmission cables number No 9 They transfer to each other.
[0028] The floating power transmission tower is a new solution for the power transmission system, which makes transfer power from one country to another through seas and oceans possible and greatly reduces the cost of those projects. Nowadays, the new government policy is to create and complete the global electricity distribution network between different countries. This means that some countries consume more electricity in some seasons of the year and need to import electricity, but in low consumption months they can export their excess electricity through this global network.
[0029] Since 70% of the world is covered by water, in order to transfer electricity, this operation must be completed by sea. Therefore, this invention helps the global electricity transmission network a lot so that this important matter can be completed with less cost and more speed.
[0030] In Fig.1, you can see a side view of the floating power tower with the details given below:
[0031] No 1: In power systems, electrical insulators are used to prevent unwanted currents from passing to the ground. Insulation plays an important role in electrical systems. In fact, it is a highly resistant path that virtually no current passes through. In the transmission and distribution system, overhead conductors are generally placed on masts or poles. Masts and beams, both, are grounded on occasion. Therefore, the insulator must be placed between the mast or the beam and the current-carrying conductors to prevent the current from the conductors to the ground (through the body of the masts or beams). In fact, they become high pressure conductors to maintain high voltage electrical conductors that have very large voltages.
[0032] No2: In this picture, you can see the different components of the main structure of the power tower, which are truss-shaped and are connected to each other by bolts and nuts.
[0033] No3: In this image of the main column of the superstructure, you can see that there are usually 4-6 columns around the four sides of the main structure of the superstructure.
[0034] No4: In this picture, the connecting columns of the floating pontoon and the superstructure are usually 4-6 in number and are on the four sides of the superstructure.
[0035] No5: This restraint part is the metal straps of the superstructure that prevent buckling and twisting of the main structure and are around the superstructure.
[0036] No6: This part is the floating pontoon, which is responsible for the flotation and balance of the entire structure, and usually the number of floating pontoons can be 4-6 around and under the superstructure, depending on the size of the power tower.
[0037] No7: This part is the sub-beams of the superstructure structure and they exist around the structure. They are responsible for connecting the different columns in the structure to each other.
[0038] In Fig.2 the number of two floating electricity masts has been shown in order to better determine how to connect the masts to each other.
[0039] No8: In this section, you can see the water level lines.
[0040] No9: In this section, it shows the power transmission cable, the number of which depends on the size, dimensions and capacity of the power tower.
[0041] No10: In this section, the mooring (Anchoring system) of the entire structure is shown. The restraints are made of cables or chains that limit the movements of the entire structure in different waves.
[0042] No11: In this part, there are prefabricated concrete blocks that are placed on the sea floor. These blocks are usually placed 4-6 around the structure on the sea floor and the harness cables are tied to them. This part is an important part of It is a bracing system.
[0043] No12: This part is sea bed.Examples
