It should be noted that in the embodiment of the present application, only the base station in the NR system is used as an example for introduction, and the specific type of the base station is not limited.
[0064] The following first describes the technologies related to the embodiments of the present application.
[0065] 1. Near Field
[0066] In 5G New Radio (NR) systems, user equipment (UE) is assumed to always be in the far field of the base station. Signal propagation between the base station and the UE can be approximately modeled using a plane wave model. In this model, the propagation path between each base station antenna and the UE is identical, resulting in the same path loss and phase. Based on this model, the base station's beam angle can be controlled by controlling the phase difference between the base station's antennas.
[0067] In the near field, the propagation paths from each base station antenna to the UE can no longer be assumed to be identical, and a plane wave model cannot be used to model signal propagation from the base station to the UE. Instead, a spherical wave model is required. Near-field and far-field communications differ in many ways: the first is the nonlinear variation in the phase of the received signal across the array. In the far field, the phase of the array steering vector scales approximately linearly for different elements, making mathematical analysis tractable. However, this property does not hold true in the near field. Second, as the array aperture increases, the amplitude / path loss variation across the entire array must be considered. This is because the distance between a user and the center of the array can differ significantly from the distance between the user and the edge of the array. Third, in the near field, the tilt angle of the incident wave varies significantly from the center to the edge of the array, resulting in variations in the effective projected aperture of different antennas in the array. Another change faced by users in the near field is channel nonstationarity. Due to the large array size, different antenna elements in the array experience different propagation environments, resulting in spatially nonstationary channels. For array antennas, clusters have a partially visible feature, that is, some clusters are visible to the entire array, while some clusters are only visible to some array elements. This leads to the non-stationary characteristics of the near-field channel.
[0068] 2. Network Energy Saving
[0069] Traditional base station energy conservation measures primarily rely on on-site power-off, timed switching, and cell blocking. However, these methods are relatively crude and fail to address user perception. In the 5G era, 5G base stations utilize large-scale 64T64R array antennas, supporting greater bandwidth and other factors, resulting in higher energy consumption than 4G base stations. Furthermore, due to the high frequency band and the limited coverage of a single station, 5G base station deployments will require two to three times the scale of 4G base stations to achieve the same coverage as 4G networks. The higher power consumption of equipment and the greater number of sites inevitably lead to greater power consumption. Excessive 5G power consumption has become a pain point for current network operations, making research into energy-saving technologies for 5G base stations imperative.
[0070] Base station energy saving can be divided into symbol shutdown, carrier shutdown, channel shutdown and deep sleep technology according to the implementation principle. Technical background of airspace energy saving: Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) consumes more energy due to the large number of antennas and the corresponding number of RF devices. When the number of UEs in a cell is small, the capacity / coverage gain brought by mMIMO will be redundant. At this time, the network side can shut down some transceiver units (TxRU) to achieve the purpose of network energy saving. As shown in Figure 2, the TxRU corresponding to some antenna units can be shut down to serve a small number of users. For example, the antenna units in the dotted box in Figure 2 are shut down. After shutting down some TxRUs, the coverage range of the beam will be weakened and the beam width will be increased.
[0071] As the array scale increases, the power of a user's transmitted signal in the near field may be primarily received by a portion of the array due to variations in the amplitude and angle of the incoming wave to each antenna element. This characteristic can be exploited to reduce the computational overhead of signal detection and estimation at the terminal, thereby reducing latency and energy consumption.
[0072] However, in current protocols, the entire array serves end users. Even in discussions of network energy-saving scenarios, all users are served by the activated panels, without distinguishing which subarrays serve which users. Reducing the number of service panels will lead to a decrease in beam coverage and an increase in beam width. Furthermore, powering down some panels to achieve network energy savings is only considered when throughput is low. Under normal throughput conditions, powering down antenna subarrays that are not participating in transmission is not considered.
[0073] The measurement feedback method, apparatus, and communication device provided in the embodiments of the present application are described in detail below with reference to some embodiments and their application scenarios in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
[0074] As shown in FIG3 , an embodiment of the present application provides a measurement feedback method, including:
[0075] Step 301: A first communication device detects a reference signal sent by a second communication device.
[0076] Step 302: The first communication device determines a target area based on the detection result of the reference signal;
[0077] Step 303: The first communication device sends first information to the second communication device, where the first information is used to indicate the target area.
[0078] Optionally, the detection result includes at least one of the power value, signal quality, path loss, channel rank, and channel matrix eigenvalue of the reference signal.
[0079] It should be noted that the power referred to in the embodiments of the present application refers to the Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP). The signal quality can be Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ), Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR), Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), Signal to Interference Ratio (SIR), etc.
[0080] Optionally, the embodiment of the present application is applicable to one of the following situations:
[0081] Case 1: The first communication device is a terminal, and the second communication device is a network-side device;
[0082] It should be noted that, in this case, the target area is the first area, and the first area is a partial antenna area of the second communication device;
[0083] This situation refers to the terminal measuring the downlink reference signal sent by the network side device, obtaining a measurement result (ie, the above-mentioned detection result), and then determining which antenna areas of the network side device can provide services for the terminal based on the measurement result.
[0084] Optionally, the first area includes an antenna area of the second communication device corresponding to the reference signal whose detection result meets the target condition.
[0085] Optionally, the first area can be understood as the visible area, that is, a part of the antenna area in the network side device that can provide services to the terminal; that is, as the scale of the network side antenna array continues to increase, most of the energy sent by the terminal user in the near field area is received by a part of the antenna subarray, and the set of subarrays where these signal energies are concentrated is called the visible area of the terminal.
[0086] Case 2: The first communication device is a network-side device, and the second communication device is a terminal;
[0087] It should be noted that, in this case, the target area is the second area, and the second area is a partial antenna area of the first communication device.
[0088] This situation refers to the network side device measuring the uplink reference signal sent by the terminal, obtaining the measurement result, and then determining which of its own antenna areas can provide services for the terminal based on the measurement result.
[0089] Optionally, the second area includes the antenna area of the first communication device corresponding to the reference signal whose detection result meets the target condition
[0090] Optionally, the second area can be understood as a visible area, that is, a part of the antenna area in the network side device that can provide services to the terminal.
[0091] It should also be noted here that the antenna area mentioned in the embodiment of the present application can be understood as the distribution area of the antenna units on the antenna panel of the network side device, and can also be understood as the area occupied by all antenna sub-arrays; each sub-array occupies a part of the antenna area.
[0092] It should also be noted that the above target conditions include at least one of the following:
[0093] A11, the ratio of the power value to the total received power is greater than or equal to the power detection threshold;
[0094] For example, if the ratio of the RSRP value of the reference signal of a particular subarray to the total received power is greater than or equal to the power detection threshold, then the subarray satisfies the condition. Alternatively, if the ratio of the sum of the RSRP values of the reference signals of several subarrays to the total received power is greater than or equal to the power detection threshold, then these subarrays satisfy the condition.
[0095] A12, signal quality is greater than or equal to the quality detection threshold;
[0096] For example, if the RSRQ of the reference signal of a certain subarray is greater than or equal to the quality detection threshold, then the subarray is a subarray that meets the condition.
[0097] A13, path loss is less than or equal to the path loss threshold;
[0098] For example, if the path loss of the reference signal of a certain subarray is less than or equal to the path loss threshold, then the subarray is a subarray that meets the condition.
[0099] A14, the channel rank is greater than or equal to the channel rank threshold;
[0100] For example, if the channel rank of the reference signal of a certain subarray is greater than or equal to the channel rank threshold, then the subarray is a subarray that meets the condition.
[0101] A15. The eigenvalue of the channel matrix is greater than or equal to the eigenvalue threshold;
[0102] For example, if the eigenvalue of the channel matrix of the reference signal of a certain subarray is greater than or equal to the eigenvalue threshold, then the subarray is a subarray that meets the condition.
[0103] It should be noted that the target conditions used in Case 1 and Case 2 can be the same or different, and the specific threshold values can be the same or different. For example, Case 1 uses A11 as the target condition, while Case 2 uses A15 as the target condition. For another example, Case 1 and Case 2 both use A13 as the target condition, and the path loss threshold value used in Case 1 is a first value, while the path loss threshold value used in Case 2 is a second value, and the first value is not equal to the second value.
[0104] Optionally, in one implementation, the first communication device determines, based on the detection result of the reference signal, a specific implementation of the target area, including:
[0105] If the reference signal whose detection result satisfies the target condition includes multiple target subarrays, the first communication device determines a target area in the multiple target subarrays according to the maximum number N of serving subarrays.
[0106] It should be noted that if there are multiple target subarrays selected based on the target condition, and if there is no maximum number of service subarrays or the number of target subarrays selected based on the target condition is less than or equal to the maximum number of service subarrays, the first communication device may notify the second communication device of all of these target subarrays. If the number of target subarrays selected based on the target condition is greater than the maximum number of service subarrays, some subarrays need to be selected from the multiple target subarrays. Optionally, in one implementation, determining the target area from the multiple target subarrays specifically includes at least one of the following:
[0107] B11. Randomly select N target subarrays from the multiple target subarrays, and use areas corresponding to the N target subarrays as target areas.
[0108] B12. Sort the detection results of the reference signals corresponding to the multiple target subarrays in descending order, select the top N target subarrays, and use the areas corresponding to the N target subarrays as the target area;
[0109] This situation can be understood as selecting the N target subarrays with the best detection results.
[0110] It should also be noted that, in the above case 1, the target subarray refers to the subarray in the antenna array of the second communication device; in the above case 2, the target subarray refers to the subarray in the antenna array of the first communication device.
[0111] The specific applications of the embodiments of the present application are described in detail below under the different situations mentioned above.
[0112] 1. The first communication device is a terminal, and the second communication device is a network-side device
[0113] Optionally, in one implementation, the method further includes:
[0114] The first communication device obtains first configuration information;
[0115] Optionally, the first configuration information may be configured by the second communication device or agreed upon in a protocol.
[0116] Specifically, the first configuration information includes at least one of the following:
[0117] C11, mapping relationship between identification information of different subarrays and downlink reference signal resource information;
[0118] Optionally, in one implementation, the downlink reference signal resource information includes at least one of the following:
[0119] C111, time domain resources;
[0120] C112, frequency domain resources;
[0121] C113, airspace resources;
[0122] For example, the spatial resource may be indicated by a beam.
[0123] For example, for a network-side large-scale antenna array consisting of 8 sub-arrays, the mapping relationship is shown in Table 1:
[0124] Table 1 Mapping relationship between subarray number and downlink RS resource information
[0125] It should be noted that each candidate set consisting of {time domain resources, frequency domain resources, spatial domain resources} in Table 1 may include one or more different downlink reference signal resource information combinations, that is, each subarray may include multiple downlink reference signal resource information configuration modes; further, the network side device may configure a certain downlink reference signal resource information combination in the candidate set to the user, for example, the network side device configures configuration 1 of the downlink reference signal resource information under subarray #1 for the terminal; further optionally, different resource candidate sets may include the same time domain resources, frequency domain resources, and / or spatial domain resources.
[0126] C12, a resource set, wherein the resource set includes: a mapping relationship between subarrays and downlink reference signal resource information;
[0127] For example, the resource set in the embodiment of the present application is defined as a set of {time domain resources, frequency domain resources, spatial domain resources, subarray index}, and different resource set indexes correspond to different sets of {time domain resources, frequency domain resources, spatial domain resources, subarray index}, which are used to indicate the subarray index for sending a downlink reference signal and the corresponding time domain resources, frequency domain resources, and / or spatial domain resources; for example, a list containing 8 resource sets is shown in Table 2:
[0128] Table 2 Mapping relationship between resource set sequence number and subarray downlink RS resource information
[0129] It should be noted that each set of {time domain resources, frequency domain resources, spatial domain resources, subarray index} in Table 2 may include a combination of a subarray index and one or more downlink reference signal resource information. Furthermore, the network may configure a certain downlink reference signal resource information under the resource set index to the user, for example, configuration 1 of the downlink reference signal resource information under resource set #1, configuration 2 of the downlink reference signal resource information under resource set #1, and so on. Furthermore, optionally, different resource sets may include the same time domain resources, frequency domain resources, and / or spatial domain resources.
[0130] Optionally, in one implementation, the first information includes at least one of the following:
[0131] C21, identification information of subarrays within the first area, each of the subarrays occupying part of the antenna area;
[0132] Optionally, the identification information may be a number or index of a subarray.
[0133] C22, service status indication information of all sub-arrays of the second communication device;
[0134] It should be noted that the service status of a subarray indicates whether a subarray is serving the terminal. In this case, the service status of each subarray can be indicated separately through a bitmap; for example, it can be represented by binary characters, such as 0 for no service and 1 for service; or vice versa, 0 for service and 1 for no service.
[0135] C23. Feature information of the first region, where the feature information is used to indicate a region shape of the first region;
[0136] It should be noted that the shape of the region is used to characterize the shape features of the constituent region. Optionally, the first region may include one or more shape features, and the shape features may be standard shapes (for example, circles, rectangles, etc.) or non-standard shapes (for example, irregular shapes); for example, the non-standard shape may be represented by a sub-array identification information set, and the identification information set is used to indicate one or more sub-arrays.
[0137] For example, when the terminal identifies the first area as a rectangular area, combined with the subarray configuration information, a preconfigured format can be used to feedback identification information (e.g., subarray index) of the four corner subarrays. For example, in FIG4 , mode1-[1,3,9,11] can be fed back, where mode1 represents a rectangular area and [1,3,9,11] represents the feedback format.
[0138] For example, when the terminal identifies the first area as a circular area, combined with the subarray configuration information, a preconfigured format can be used to feedback the identification information (e.g., subarray index) and radius of the center subarray. For example, in FIG4 , mode2-[6, r] can be fed back, where mode2 represents the circular area and r represents the radius of the first area.
[0139] For example, when the terminal recognizes that the first area can be split into multiple preconfigured area shapes, it can simultaneously feedback the area range corresponding to each split area shape; or, when the terminal recognizes that the first area contains preconfigured area shapes and irregular shapes, it can feedback the preconfigured area shapes and directly feedback the sub-array index corresponding to the irregular shape.
[0140] It should be noted that the mode and feedback format corresponding to different area shapes are configured by the network side device to the terminal or agreed upon by the protocol.
[0141] It should be noted that after determining the target area, the terminal can combine the characteristics of the array and the target area to feedback the subarray set corresponding to the target area in a preconfigured format, thereby further reducing feedback overhead. For example, for a 3*4 rectangular area, the terminal's feedback amount is reduced from 12 indices to 4 indices (corresponding to the four corners of the rectangle), thereby reducing feedback overhead.
[0142] C24, identification information of a resource set corresponding to the reference signal associated with the first region;
[0143] It should be noted that, since resource sets correspond to sub-arrays, when the terminal reports identification information of the resource sets to the network device, the network device can determine which sub-arrays provide specific services based on the identification information.
[0144] Optionally, in one implementation, the method further includes:
[0145] The first communication device receives second configuration information sent by the second communication device;
[0146] The second configuration information includes: a mapping relationship between subarrays and antenna subarray physical topology information.
[0147] Optionally, the antenna subarray physical topology information includes at least one of the following:
[0148] C301, formation information of the sub-array of the antenna array;
[0149] Optionally, the formation information may indicate, for example but not limited to, at least one of the following: a linear array, a rectangular array, a circular array, or a cylindrical array.
[0150] C302, sub-array topology of antenna array;
[0151] It should be noted that the subarray topology structure can be understood as the number of horizontal subarrays and the number of vertical subarrays included in the antenna array.
[0152] C303, horizontal dimensions of the antenna array;
[0153] C304, vertical dimensions of the antenna array;
[0154] C305, horizontal size of subarray;
[0155] C306, subarray vertical size;
[0156] It should be noted that the units of the horizontal and vertical dimensions may be length units such as centimeters, meters, decimeters, and millimeters.
[0157] C307, antenna unit topology of subarray;
[0158] It should be noted that the antenna unit topology of the subarray can be understood as the number of horizontal antenna units and the number of vertical antenna units included in the subarray.
[0159] C308, horizontal and vertical spacing of antenna elements within the subarray;
[0160] C309, horizontal and vertical spacing of antenna elements between subarrays;
[0161] C310, number of antenna units;
[0162] The number of antenna units refers to the total number of antenna units included in the antenna array.
[0163] It should be noted that the second configuration information can be understood as subarray configuration information, which can assist the terminal side in MIMO perception; further, after the terminal knows the physical topology information of the antenna subarray, it can also reduce the bits occupied by the feedback information when performing target area feedback.
[0164] Optionally, in one implementation, the method further includes:
[0165] The first communication device acquires the position coordinates of the target parameter and the reference point position;
[0166] The target parameter includes one of the following: a subarray, and a subarray corresponding to a downlink reference signal.
[0167] Optionally, in one implementation, the reference point position is indicated by the second communication device. That is, the reference point position is explicitly indicated to the terminal by the network side device.
[0168] Optionally, the reference point position may be indicated by an antenna element index at a designated position such as an edge, an end, or a center.
[0169] Optionally, in one implementation, obtaining the position coordinates of the target parameter includes at least one of the following:
[0170] C31. The first communication device receives the position coordinates of the target parameter sent by the second communication device;
[0171] It should be noted that, in this case, it can be understood that the location coordinates of the target parameter are explicitly indicated to the terminal by the network side device.
[0172] C32. The first communication device determines the position coordinates of the target parameter according to the second information sent by the second communication device and the reference point position;
[0173] It should be noted that, in this case, it can be understood that the location coordinates of the target parameter are implicitly indicated to the terminal by the network-side device.
[0174] The second information includes at least one of the following:
[0175] C321, antenna array subarray topology, antenna array horizontal dimensions, antenna array vertical dimensions;
[0176] For example, the sub-array topology structure may include the number of sub-arrays in the horizontal direction and the number of sub-arrays in the vertical direction.
[0177] C322, antenna array subarray topology, subarray horizontal size, subarray vertical size;
[0178] C323, subarray topology of antenna array, antenna unit topology of subarray, horizontal and vertical spacing of antenna units within a subarray, horizontal and vertical spacing of antenna units between subarrays.
[0179] It should be noted that, as shown in FIG4 , X in FIG4 represents the horizontal size of the antenna array, Y represents the vertical size of the antenna array, X0 represents the horizontal size of the subarray, and Y0 represents the vertical size of the subarray.
[0180] Optionally, in one implementation, the method further includes:
[0181] The first communication device sends the detection result within the target area to the second communication device.
[0182] It should be noted that the detection result and the first information can be sent in the same message or in different messages.
[0183] Optionally, the subarray on the second communication device side may decide whether to be turned on or off according to the detection result of the first communication device. If no user needs to be served, it only needs to be activated periodically to send downlink RS and can be turned off at other times.
[0184] It should also be noted that, in one case, the second communication device transmits downlink reference signals to the first communication device via each subarray in an orthogonal manner; that is, when each subarray of the second communication device transmits downlink reference signals simultaneously, different downlink reference signals are mutually orthogonal, that is, the second communication device configures mutually orthogonal resource information candidate sets or resource sets for different subarrays, thereby improving downlink measurement efficiency.
[0185] In another case, the second communication device sequentially transmits downlink reference signals to the first communication device via each subarray in a time division multiplexing (TDM) format. That is, when each subarray of the second communication device transmits downlink reference signals in a time division format, different subarrays may multiplex the same reference signal on different time domain resources, and downlink reference signals of the same subarray may be orthogonal to each other. That is, the resource information candidate sets or resource sets configured by the second communication device for different subarrays may include the same frequency domain resources and / or spatial domain resources. In this manner, the number of orthogonal reference signal resources for each subarray may be reduced, thereby saving reference signal resources.
[0186] Correspondingly, the first communications device detects the downlink reference signal of the corresponding subarray on the corresponding time domain resources, frequency domain resources and / or spatial domain resources according to the configuration information of the resource position corresponding to the downlink reference signal.
[0187] It should also be noted that the first communication device may periodically measure the downlink reference signal of the subarray to update the target area; wherein the measurement period may be configured by the second communication device or agreed upon by a protocol.
[0188] In summary, in this case, after determining the target area, the terminal sends uplink signals on the uplink time domain resources, uplink frequency domain resources and / or uplink spatial domain resources associated with the sub-array within the target area; and receives downlink signals on the downlink time domain resources, downlink frequency domain resources and / or downlink spatial domain resources associated with the sub-array within the target area.
[0189] It should be noted that the downlink reference signal in this case can be a synchronization signal / physical broadcast channel signal block (or synchronization signal block) (Synchronization Signal and PBCH block, SSB), a channel state information reference signal (Channel State Information Reference Signal, CSI-RS) and other signals.
[0190] Optionally, in one implementation, the method further includes:
[0191] The first communication device sends fourth information to the second communication device based on the first configuration information, the second configuration information and / or the detection result.
[0192] The fourth information includes at least one of the following:
[0193] C41, perceptual measurement quantity;
[0194] Optionally, the perceptual measurement quantity can be divided into the following four categories:

[0225] 2. The first communication device is a network-side device, and the second communication device is a terminal
[0226] It should be noted that, in this case, the terminal sends an uplink reference signal to the network side device, and the network side device performs detection to obtain a detection result.
[0227] Optionally, the terminal may send an uplink reference signal on a specified time-frequency resource according to the configuration of the network-side device;
[0228] Accordingly, the network-side device needs to explicitly notify the terminal of the time-frequency resources for sending the uplink reference signal, or the uplink reference signal time-frequency resource position is associated with the network-side downlink reference signal;
[0229] Among them, the downlink reference signal may include SSB, CSI-RS and other signals;
[0230] The association relationship between the uplink reference signal and the downlink reference signal may be configured by a network-side device or agreed upon by a protocol.
[0231] Optionally, the terminal may periodically send an uplink reference signal, wherein the sending period may be configured by a network-side device or agreed upon by a protocol.
[0232] Accordingly, the subarray of the network-side device can decide whether to turn on or off based on the detection results. If no user needs to be served, it only needs to be activated periodically to detect the uplink reference signal and can be turned off at other times.
[0233] Optionally, in one implementation, the first information includes at least one of the following:
[0234] D11, identification information of subarrays within the second area, each of the subarrays occupying part of the antenna area;
[0235] D12, service status indication information of all sub-arrays of the first communication device;
[0236] It should be noted that the service status of a subarray indicates whether a subarray is serving the terminal. In this case, the service status of each subarray can be indicated separately through a bitmap; for example, it can be represented by binary characters, such as 0 for no service and 1 for service; or vice versa, 0 for service and 1 for no service.
[0237] D13, characteristic information of the second area, where the characteristic information is used to indicate the area shape of the second area;
[0238] It should be noted that the shape of the region is used to characterize the shape features of the constituent region. Optionally, the second region may include one or more shape features, and the shape features may be standard shapes (for example, circular, rectangular, etc.) or non-standard shapes (for example, irregular shapes); for example, the non-standard shape may be represented by the identification information of the subarray.
[0239] D14, identification information of a resource set corresponding to the reference signal associated with the second region;
[0240] It should be noted that, since resource sets correspond to sub-arrays, when the network-side device sends identification information of the resource sets to the terminal, the terminal can determine which sub-arrays specifically provide services based on the identification information.
[0241] D15. Resource information corresponding to the reference signal associated with the second region, the resource information including at least one of the following: time domain resources, frequency domain resources, and spatial domain resources;
[0242] It should be noted that, since the reference signal is associated with a subarray, when the network side device sends resource information corresponding to the reference signal to the terminal, the terminal can determine which subarrays specifically provide services based on the resource information.
[0243] Optionally, in one implementation, the method further includes:
[0244] The first communication device sends third configuration information to the second communication device;
[0245] The third configuration information includes: a mapping relationship between subarrays and antenna subarray physical topology information.
[0246] Optionally, the antenna subarray physical topology information in this case may include at least one item among the above C301 - C310.
[0247] Optionally, in one implementation, the method further includes:
[0248] The first communication device sends a reference point position, a position coordinate of a target parameter and / or third information to the second communication device;
[0249] The target parameter includes one of the following: a subarray, a subarray corresponding to a downlink reference signal;
[0250] The third information includes at least one of the following:
[0251] The sub-array topology of the antenna array, the horizontal dimensions of the antenna array, and the vertical dimensions of the antenna array;
[0252] The subarray topology, subarray horizontal dimensions, and subarray vertical dimensions of the antenna array;
[0253] The subarray topology of the antenna array, the antenna unit topology of the subarray, the horizontal and vertical spacing of the antenna units within the subarray, and the horizontal and vertical spacing of the antenna units between subarrays.
[0254] It should be noted that the network side device can assist the terminal in determining the specific information of the subarray that can provide services by sending the reference point position, the position coordinates of the target parameter and / or the third information to the terminal, thereby facilitating the terminal to send and receive signals.
[0255] Optionally, after determining the second area, the terminal sends an uplink signal on the uplink time domain resources, uplink frequency domain resources and / or uplink spatial domain resources associated with the sub-array within the second area according to the network side equipment or protocol configuration; and receives a downlink signal on the downlink time domain resources, downlink frequency domain resources and / or downlink spatial domain resources associated with the sub-array within the second area.
[0256] It should be noted that the embodiments of the present application can achieve the following beneficial effects:
[0257] On the terminal side, after determining the target area, the terminal only needs to detect the signals on the time-frequency domain resources associated with the subarrays within the target area, and process and demodulate these signals. It does not need to detect the signals of all subarrays. This can reduce the complexity of signal processing and calculation on the terminal side, and reduce the time and energy consumption of signal detection.
[0258] On the network side, after determining the target area for each terminal, the network only needs to keep the subarrays that serve the terminals open and can dynamically shut down subarrays that do not serve any terminals, thereby better achieving energy conservation on the network side. In particular, when terminals are unevenly distributed, idle subarrays can be shut down, reducing power consumption on the network side.
[0259] For the communication system, after the first communication device determines the target area, it indicates the target area to the second communication device through the first information, so that the first communication device and the second communication device have a consistent understanding of the target area, thereby better reducing system energy consumption.
