AI Technical Summary
Conventional bass reflex-type speaker devices face issues with peak dips in sound pressure-frequency characteristics due to constant waves, which can reduce sound quality and hinder low-range audio enhancement when using sound-absorbing materials inside the cabinet.
The speaker device incorporates a cylindrical bass reflex port with one end located outside the cabinet and the other end inside, dividing the internal cabinet space into three regions to minimize pressure changes, with the bass reflex port's other end positioned in the region with the smallest pressure changes, thereby suppressing peak dips and improving sound quality.
This configuration effectively suppresses peak dips in sound pressure-frequency characteristics and enhances sound quality by optimizing the placement of the bass reflex port, allowing for improved low-range audio reproduction without compromising high-range sound absorption.

Abstract
Description
Speaker device
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a bass reflex speaker device.
[0002] A bass reflex speaker device for enhancing the reproduction of low-frequency sounds is known. This bass reflex speaker device includes a cabinet, a speaker unit, and a bass reflex port. The cabinet is hollow and is arranged to cover the back surface of the diaphragm of the speaker unit. The bass reflex port is cylindrical and connects the inside of the cabinet to the outside of the cabinet. One end of the bass reflex port is arranged in an opening formed in a side surface of the cabinet, and the other end of the bass reflex port is arranged inside the cabinet.
[0003] When sound is output from the back of the speaker unit's diaphragm toward the inside of the cabinet, Helmholtz resonance occurs inside the bass reflex port, causing low-frequency sound to be output from one end of the bass reflex port toward the outside of the cabinet in phase with the sound output from the front of the speaker unit, thereby enhancing the reproduction of low-frequency sound.
[0004] In this bass-reflex speaker system, unwanted standing waves in the mid- to high-frequency range generated inside the cabinet are output from one end of the bass-reflex port toward the outside of the cabinet. When this happens, the standing waves output from one end of the bass-reflex port interfere with the sound output from the front of the speaker unit, causing peaks and dips in the speaker system's sound pressure-frequency characteristics. To solve this problem, a technology has been proposed in which sound-absorbing material is placed inside the cabinet to absorb the standing waves generated inside the cabinet (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
[0005] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 6-237498
[0006] The present disclosure provides a speaker device that can improve sound quality while suppressing the occurrence of peaks and dips in sound pressure-frequency characteristics that are caused by standing waves.
[0007] The speaker device of the present disclosure comprises a speaker unit that outputs sound by converting an electrical signal into vibrations, a hollow cabinet having an opening formed on the side and arranged to cover the back of the speaker unit, and a cylindrical bass reflex port that connects the inside of the cabinet to the outside of the cabinet, with one end located in the opening of the cabinet and the other end located inside the cabinet, wherein pressure is generated inside the cabinet due to air vibrations of a standing wave frequency generated by sound output from the back of the speaker unit toward the inside of the cabinet, the inside of the cabinet having a first region, a second region, and a third region located between the first and second regions, the range of pressure change in the third region being smaller than the range of pressure change in each of the first and second regions, and the other end of the bass reflex port is located in the third region.
[0008] According to the speaker device of the present disclosure, sound quality can be improved while suppressing the occurrence of peaks and dips in the sound pressure-frequency characteristics due to standing waves.

[0010] (Findings that Form the Basis of the Present Disclosure) The present inventors have found that the following problems arise with the techniques described in the "Background Art" section.
[0011] In the speaker device disclosed in the aforementioned Patent Document 1, the frequency range of sound absorbed by the sound-absorbing material arranged inside the cabinet is wide, so not only standing waves in the mid- to high-frequency range but also sounds in the mid- to high-frequency range that are actually necessary other than standing waves are absorbed by the sound-absorbing material, which can degrade sound quality and affect the resonance of the bass reflex port.As a result, although it is possible to suppress peaks and dips caused by standing waves in the sound pressure-frequency characteristics, it is not possible to strengthen the reproduction of sounds in the low-frequency range, which can degrade the sound quality of the sound output from the speaker device.
[0012] Therefore, the inventors of the present invention have conducted extensive research and have devised a speaker device that can improve sound quality while suppressing the occurrence of peaks and dips in the sound pressure-frequency characteristics that are caused by standing waves.
[0013] Hereinafter, embodiments will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, more detailed explanation than necessary may be omitted. For example, detailed explanation of well-known matters or redundant explanation of substantially the same configuration may be omitted. This is to avoid unnecessary redundancy in the following explanation and to facilitate understanding by those skilled in the art.
[0014] The inventors provide the accompanying drawings and the following description to enable those skilled in the art to fully understand the present disclosure, and do not intend for them to limit the subject matter described in the claims.
[0015] (Embodiment 1) [1-1. Configuration of speaker device] First, the configuration of a speaker device 2 according to embodiment 1 will be described with reference to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2. Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing the appearance of the speaker device 2 according to embodiment 1. Fig. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the speaker device 2 according to embodiment 1 taken along line II-II in Fig. 1.
[0016] 1 and 2, the left-right direction (width direction) of the speaker device 2 is defined as the X-axis direction, the front-rear direction (depth direction) of the speaker device 2 is defined as the Y-axis direction, and the up-down direction (height direction) of the speaker device 2 is defined as the Z-axis direction. The positive side of the X-axis is defined as the "right," the negative side of the X-axis is defined as the "left," the positive side of the Y-axis is defined as the "rear," the negative side of the Y-axis is defined as the "front," the positive side of the Z-axis is defined as the "up," and the negative side of the Z-axis is defined as the "down."
[0017] 1 and 2, the speaker device 2 is a bass reflex type speaker device that includes a cabinet 4, a speaker unit 6, and a bass reflex port 8. In this embodiment, the speaker device 2 is a so-called bookshelf type speaker device that is placed on, for example, a shelf board or the like.
[0018] The cabinet 4 is a housing (enclosure) arranged to cover the back surface 6b (an example of the back surface of a speaker unit) of a diaphragm 28 (described later) of the speaker unit 6. The cabinet 4 is formed in a hollow, approximately rectangular parallelepiped shape and includes a front panel 10 (an example of a side surface), a back panel 12, a right side panel 14, a left side panel 16, a top panel 18, and a bottom panel 20. The front panel 10 and the back panel 12 are arranged opposite each other in the front-to-back direction (Y-axis direction). The right side panel 14 and the left side panel 16 are arranged opposite each other in the left-to-right direction (X-axis direction). The top panel 18 and the bottom panel 20 are arranged opposite each other in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction). An internal space 26 is formed inside the cabinet 4 and is surrounded by the front panel 10, the back panel 12, the right side panel 14, the left side panel 16, the top panel 18, and the bottom panel 20. In this embodiment, of the dimensions of the cabinet 4, width W (size in the X-axis direction), depth D (size in the Y-axis direction), and height H (size in the Z-axis direction), depth D is the largest.
[0019] A circular opening 22 is formed in the front panel 10 for disposing the speaker unit 6. The front panel 10 also has a circular opening 24 for disposing one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8. The opening 24 is located below the opening 22. The diameter of the opening 24 is smaller than the diameter of the opening 22.
[0020] The speaker unit 6 has a cone-shaped diaphragm 28, and outputs sound by converting an electrical signal supplied from an amplifier (not shown) into vibration of the diaphragm 28. The speaker unit 6 is disposed in an opening 22 in the front panel 10 of the cabinet 4. A front surface 6a of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6 (i.e., the concave side of the diaphragm 28) faces the outside of the cabinet 4 through the opening 22. A back surface 6b of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6 (i.e., the convex side of the diaphragm 28, the surface opposite the front surface 6a of the diaphragm 28) faces the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4 through the opening 22.
[0021] The bass reflex port 8 communicates the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4 with the outside of the cabinet 4. The bass reflex port 8 is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape and extends while bending in a substantially L-shape as a whole. One longitudinal end 8a of the bass reflex port 8 is flared so that its diameter gradually increases toward its opening end, and is disposed facing forward (on the negative side of the Y axis) in the opening 24 of the front panel 10 of the cabinet 4. The other longitudinal end 8b of the bass reflex port 8 is flared so that its diameter gradually increases toward its opening end, and is disposed facing upward (on the positive side of the Z axis) in the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4. That is, the bass reflex port 8 extends from the opening 24 of the front panel 10 of the cabinet 4 rearward (on the positive side of the Y axis) toward the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4, and then extends upward (on the positive side of the Z axis) while bending in a substantially vertical direction. In this embodiment, the one end 8a and the other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8 are each formed in a flared shape, but this is not limitative and they may be formed in any shape, such as a cylindrical shape.
[0022] In the bass reflex speaker device 2 described above, sound of frequencies ranging from low to mid-high ranges is output from the front surface 6a of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6 toward the outside of the cabinet 4. Sound of frequencies ranging from low to mid-high ranges is also output from the back surface 6b of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6 toward the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4, and a portion of this sound is introduced into the bass reflex port 8 from the other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8. At this time, due to Helmholtz resonance inside the bass reflex port 8, low-frequency sound is output from the one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8 toward the outside of the cabinet 4 in phase with the sound output from the front surface 6a of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6. This enables the reproduction of low-frequency sound to be strengthened.
[0023] Here, due to sound being output from the rear surface 6b of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6 toward the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4, unnecessary standing waves in the mid-to-high range (i.e., sound waves that do not contribute to the output of low-frequency sound from the one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8) are generated in the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4. As a result, pressure is generated in the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4 due to air vibrations at the frequency of the standing waves.
[0024] As a result of the standing waves being generated in the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4 in this manner, the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4 is divided into three regions according to the magnitude of the range (amplitude) of the pressure change. Specifically, the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4 is divided along the front-rear direction of the speaker device 2 into a first region 30, a second region 32, and a third region 34 disposed between the first region 30 and the second region 32. Each of the first region 30 and the second region 32 is a region where the range of the pressure change is relatively large, and the third region 34 is a region where the range of the pressure change is relatively small (compared to the range of the pressure change in each of the first region 30 and the second region 32). Furthermore, the polarity of the pressure in the first region 30 and the polarity of the pressure in the second region 32 are opposite to each other. 2, the first region 30 and the second region 32 are each marked with relatively dark dots, and the third region 34 is marked with relatively light dots, indicating that the darker the dots, the greater the range of pressure change in that region. The pressure distribution in the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4 can be analyzed by, for example, CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) or the like.
[0025] Here, the positions of the antinodes and nodes of the standing wave generated in the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4 are arranged side by side in the direction (Y-axis direction) along the depth D, which is the largest dimension among the dimensions (width W, depth D, and height H) of the cabinet 4. As a result, the first region 30, the second region 32, and the third region 34 are arranged side by side in this order in the direction along the depth D of the cabinet 4. The first region 30 is arranged on the side closer to the front panel 10 of the cabinet 4, and the second region 32 is arranged on the side closer to the back panel 12 of the cabinet 4. The third region 34 is arranged between the first region 30 and the second region 32.
[0026] The third region 34 also includes a minimum position 36 (the position indicated by a black circle in FIG. 2) where the range of pressure change is smallest among the first region 30, the second region 32, and the third region 34 (in other words, where the particle velocity of air vibrations at the frequency of the standing wave is greatest).
[0027] The bass reflex port 8 extends across the first region 30 and the third region 34 inside the cabinet 4. Specifically, the bass reflex port 8 extends rearward from the opening 24 in the front panel 10 of the cabinet 4, crossing the first region 30, and then extends upward in the third region 34 while bending approximately vertically. The other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8 is located at a minimum position 36 in the third region 34.
[0028] The other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8 does not necessarily have to be positioned exactly at the minimum position 36, but may be positioned in the vicinity of the minimum position 36 (for example, about 1 to 2 cm away from the minimum position 36).
[0029] [1-2. Effects] Here, the configuration of the speaker device 100 according to the comparative example will be described with reference to Fig. 3 and Fig. 4. Fig. 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the speaker device 100 according to the comparative example. Fig. 4 is a graph schematically showing the sound pressure-frequency characteristics of the speaker device 100 according to the comparative example and the speaker device 2 according to the first embodiment. In Fig. 3, the same components as those of the speaker device 2 according to the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and their description will be omitted.
[0030] 3 , in the speaker device 100 according to the comparative example, the bass reflex port 102 extends rearward from the opening 24 in the front panel 10 of the cabinet 4, crossing the first region 30, the third region 34, and the second region 32. One end 102a of the bass reflex port 102 is disposed in the opening 24 in the front panel 10 of the cabinet 4. The other end 102b of the bass reflex port 102 is disposed in the second region 32.
[0031] However, with this configuration, standing waves of relatively large pressure in the second region 32 of the cabinet 4 are introduced into the bass reflex port 102 from the other end 102b of the bass reflex port 102 and are output from one end 102a of the bass reflex port 102 toward the outside of the cabinet 4. At this time, the standing waves output from the one end 102a of the bass reflex port 102 interfere with the sound output from the front surface 6a of the diaphragm 28 (see FIG. 1) of the speaker unit 6, causing peaks and dips due to the standing waves in the sound pressure-frequency characteristics of the sound output from the speaker device 100, as shown by the dashed line graph in FIG.
[0032] More specifically, if the standing waves in the mid-high range output from one end 102a of the bass reflex port 102 and the mid-high range sound output from the front surface 6a of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6 are out of phase, the two waves cancel each other out, causing a dip in the sound pressure-frequency characteristics due to the standing waves. On the other hand, if the standing waves in the mid-high range output from one end 102a of the bass reflex port 102 and the mid-high range sound output from the front surface 6a of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6 are in phase, the two waves reinforce each other, causing a peak in the sound pressure-frequency characteristics due to the standing waves.
[0033] To solve such a problem, the speaker device 2 according to the first embodiment has the following features.
[0034] The speaker device 2 includes a speaker unit 6 that outputs sound by converting an electrical signal into vibrations, a hollow cabinet 4 having an opening 24 formed in a side surface and arranged to cover a rear surface 6 b of a diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6, and a cylindrical bass reflex port 8 that communicates an internal space 26 of the cabinet 4 with the outside of the cabinet 4, with one end 8 a located in the opening 24 of the cabinet 4 and the other end 8 b located in the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4. In the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4, pressure is generated due to air vibrations at a frequency of standing waves generated by sound output from the rear surface 6 b of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6 toward the inside of the cabinet 4. The interior of the cabinet 4 has a first region 30, a second region 32, and a third region 34 located between the first region 30 and the second region 32. The range of pressure change in the third region 34 is smaller than the range of pressure change in each of the first region 30 and the second region 32. The other end 8 b of the bass reflex port 8 is disposed in the third region 34 .
[0035] According to this, since the other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8 is disposed in the third region 34 of the cabinet 4, standing waves of a relatively low pressure in the third region 34 are introduced into the bass reflex port 8 from the other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8 and output from the one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8 toward the outside of the cabinet 4. This makes it possible to suppress interference between the standing waves output from the one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8 and the sound output from the front surface 6a of the diaphragm 28 of the speaker unit 6. As a result, as shown by the solid line graph in FIG. 4, peaks and dips caused by standing waves in the sound pressure-frequency characteristics of the sound output from the speaker device 2 can be suppressed. Furthermore, unlike the speaker device using the conventional sound-absorbing material described in the Background Art section, it is possible to suppress absorption of the high-frequency sound other than the standing waves by the sound-absorbing material, thereby improving the sound quality of the speaker device 2.
[0036] The third region 34 includes the minimum position 36 and its vicinity. The other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8 is disposed at the minimum position 36 and its vicinity.
[0037] According to this, the other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8 is disposed at or near the minimum position 36 in the third region 34, so that the sound quality of the speaker device 2 can be improved more effectively.
[0038] The bass reflex port 8 extends over either the first region 30 or the second region 32 and the third region 34 inside the cabinet 4 .
[0039] This allows the other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8 to be easily positioned at or near the minimum position 36 in the third region 34, even if one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8 is located away from the third region 34.
[0040] [1-3. Modification 1] The configuration of a speaker device 2A according to Modification 1 of Embodiment 1 will be described with reference to Fig. 5. Fig. 5 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the speaker device 2A according to Modification 1 of Embodiment 1. Fig. 5 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along the line corresponding to line II-II in Fig. 1. In this modification, the same components as those of the speaker device 2 according to the above-described Embodiment 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0041] As shown in FIG. 5 , the speaker device 2A according to Modification 1 differs from the speaker device 1 according to Embodiment 1 in the arrangement of the bass reflex port 8A. Specifically, one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8A is disposed facing backward (on the positive side of the Y axis) in an opening 24 formed in the back panel 12A (an example of a side surface) of the cabinet 4A. The bass reflex port 8A extends forward (on the negative side of the Y axis) from the opening 24 in the back panel 12A of the cabinet 4A while crossing the second region 32, and then extends upward in a substantially vertical direction in the third region 34 while bending. The other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8A is disposed at a minimum position 36 (or a position nearby) in the third region 34. Unlike the speaker device 2A according to Embodiment 1, the front panel 10A of the cabinet 4A does not have an opening 24.
[0042] Even with this configuration, the same effects as those of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0043] [1-4. Modification 2] The configuration of a speaker device 2B according to Modification 2 of Embodiment 1 will be described with reference to Fig. 6. Fig. 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the speaker device 2B according to Modification 2 of Embodiment 1. Note that Fig. 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along the line corresponding to line II-II in Fig. 1. In this modification, the same components as those of the speaker device 2 according to Embodiment 1 and the speaker device 2A according to Modification 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0044] As shown in Fig. 6 , in a speaker device 2B according to Modification 2, the arrangement of the bass reflex port 8B is different from that of Embodiment 1. Specifically, one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8B is arranged facing downward (toward the negative side of the Z axis) in an opening 24 formed in a bottom plate 20B (an example of a side surface) of the cabinet 4B. The bass reflex port 8B extends linearly upward from the opening 24 in the bottom plate 20B of the cabinet 4B in a third region 34. The other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8B is arranged at a minimum position 36 (or a position nearby) in the third region 34.
[0045] That is, the bass reflex port 8B extends only over the third region 34 inside the cabinet 4.
[0046] This allows the other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8B to be easily positioned at or near the minimum position 36 in the third region 34 when one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8B is located close to the third region 34.
[0047] (Embodiment 2) [2-1. Configuration of speaker device] The configuration of a speaker device 2C according to embodiment 2 will be described with reference to Fig. 7. Fig. 7 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the speaker device 2C according to embodiment 2. Note that in this embodiment, the same components as those of the speaker device 2 according to embodiment 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0048] As shown in FIG. 7 , the speaker device 2C according to the second embodiment is a so-called tallboy speaker device that is placed on, for example, a floor. Therefore, of the dimensions of the cabinet 4C, which are width (not shown), depth D, and height H, height H is the largest. In relation to this, the positions of the antinodes and nodes of the standing waves generated in the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4C are aligned in a direction (Z-axis direction) along the height H, which is the largest dimension of the cabinet 4C. As a result, the first region 30, the second region 32, and the third region 34 are aligned in this order along the height H of the cabinet 4C. The first region 30 is positioned closer to the top plate 18 of the cabinet 4C, and the second region 32 is positioned closer to the bottom plate 20 of the cabinet 4C. The third region 34 is positioned between the first region 30 and the second region 32.
[0049] In the speaker device 2C according to the second embodiment, the opening 22 is disposed at a position offset upward from the center in the longitudinal direction of the front panel 10 of the cabinet 4C, i.e., at a position corresponding to the first region 30 on the front panel 10. In addition, the opening 24 is disposed at the center in the longitudinal direction of the back panel 12C (an example of a side surface) of the cabinet 4C, i.e., at a position corresponding to the third region 34 on the back panel 12C.
[0050] Furthermore, in the speaker device 2C according to the second embodiment, the arrangement of the bass reflex port 8C is different from that of the first embodiment. Specifically, one end 8a of the bass reflex port 8C is arranged facing backward (toward the positive side of the Y axis) in the opening 24 of the back panel 12C of the cabinet 4C. The bass reflex port 8C extends linearly from the opening 24 of the back panel 12C of the cabinet 4C toward the front (toward the negative side of the Y axis) in the third region 34. The other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8C is arranged at the minimum position 36 (or a position nearby) in the third region 34.
[0051] Even with this configuration, the same effects as those of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0052] [2-2. Modification 1] The configuration of a speaker device 2D according to Modification 1 of Embodiment 2 will be described with reference to Fig. 8. Fig. 8 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the speaker device 2D according to Modification 1 of Embodiment 2. Note that in this modification, the same components as those of the speaker device 2C according to the above-described Embodiment 2 are denoted by the same reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0053] 8 , in a speaker device 2D according to Modification 1, the arrangement of the speaker unit 6 is different from that of Embodiment 2. Specifically, the opening 22 is arranged in the center in the longitudinal direction of the front panel 10D of the cabinet 4D, i.e., at a position on the front panel 10D corresponding to the third region 34. As a result, the speaker unit 6 is arranged at a position on the front panel 10D of the cabinet 4D corresponding to the third region 34. In other words, when the front panel 10D of the cabinet 4D is viewed from the front, the speaker unit 6 is arranged at a position overlapping with the bass reflex port 8C.
[0054] Even with this configuration, the same effects as those of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0055] [2-3. Modification 2] The configuration of a speaker device 2E according to Modification 2 of Embodiment 2 will be described with reference to Fig. 9. Fig. 9 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the speaker device 2E according to Modification 2 of Embodiment 2. Note that in this modification, the same components as those of the speaker device 2C according to the above-described embodiment 2 are denoted by the same reference numerals, and description thereof will be omitted.
[0056] As shown in FIG. 9 , the speaker device 2E according to Modification 2 differs from the speaker device 2E according to Embodiment 2 in the arrangement of the bass reflex port 8E. Specifically, the opening 24 is located below the longitudinal center of the back panel 12E (an example of a side surface) of the cabinet 4E, i.e., at a position corresponding to the second region 32 on the back panel 12E. One end 8a of the bass reflex port 8E is located facing rearward in the opening 24 of the back panel 12E of the cabinet 4E. The bass reflex port 8E extends forward from the opening 24 of the back panel 12E of the cabinet 4E through the second region 32, then bends upward approximately vertically, and extends upward through the second region 32 to the third region 34. The other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8E is located at the minimum position 36 (or a position nearby) in the third region 34.
[0057] Even with this configuration, the same effects as those of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0058] (Embodiment 3) The configuration of a speaker device 2F according to embodiment 3 will be described with reference to Fig. 10. Fig. 10 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the speaker device 2F according to embodiment 3. In this embodiment, the same components as those of the speaker device 2 according to embodiment 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will be omitted.
[0059] As shown in FIG. 10 , in the speaker device 2F according to the third embodiment, the cabinet 4F is formed in an egg shape having a substantially elliptical cross section. Of the dimensions of the cabinet 4F, namely, the length L in the major axis direction (Y axis direction) and the length S in the minor axis directions (X axis direction and Z axis direction), the length L in the major axis direction is the largest. In relation to this, the positions of the antinodes and nodes of the standing wave generated in the internal space 26 of the cabinet 4F are aligned in the direction (Y axis direction) along the length L in the major axis direction, which is the largest dimension of the cabinet 4F. As a result, the first region 30, the second region 32, and the third region 34 are aligned in this order along the length L in the major axis direction of the cabinet 4F. The first region 30 is positioned closer to one end of the cabinet 4F in the major axis direction, and the second region 32 is positioned closer to the other end of the cabinet 4F in the major axis direction. The third region 34 is positioned between the first region 30 and the second region 32.
[0060] The opening 22 is disposed at one end in the longitudinal direction of the cabinet 4F, and the opening 24 is disposed at the other end (an example of a side surface) in the longitudinal direction of the cabinet 4F.
[0061] One end 8a of the bass reflex port 8F is disposed facing backward (on the positive side of the Y axis) in the opening 24 of the cabinet 4F. The bass reflex port 8F extends linearly forward (on the negative side of the Y axis) from the opening 24 of the cabinet 4F, through the second region 32, to the third region 34. The other end 8b of the bass reflex port 8F is disposed at the minimum position 36 of the third region 34 (or a position nearby).
[0062] Even with this configuration, the same effects as those of the first embodiment can be obtained.
[0063] (Other Embodiments) As described above, the embodiments have been described as examples of the technology disclosed in this application. However, the technology in this disclosure is not limited to these, and can be applied to embodiments in which modifications, substitutions, additions, omissions, etc. are made as appropriate. Furthermore, it is also possible to combine the components described in the above embodiments to create new embodiments.
[0064] Therefore, other embodiments will be exemplified below.
[0065] In the above embodiment, the speaker devices 2, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, and 2E are bookshelf or tallboy type speaker devices, but are not limited to this and may be speaker devices that are suspended from the ceiling, for example.
[0066] As described above, the embodiments have been described as examples of the technology in the present disclosure, and for that purpose, the accompanying drawings and detailed description have been provided.
[0067] Therefore, the components shown in the accompanying drawings and detailed description may include not only essential components for solving the problem, but also components that are not essential for solving the problem in order to illustrate the above technology.
