Description

Medical waste storage tube with improved sealability

[0001] The present invention relates to a tube for storing medical waste with improved sealing properties.

[0002] Medical waste generated in medical settings such as hospitals is generally classified by law as it contains blood or bodily fluids, so it must be stored in a container specifically for medical waste and then collected by a specialized waste disposal company before being incinerated.

[0003] Publication Utility Model No. 20-2008-0001377 Medical Waste Collection Container (Publication Date: May 27, 2008) discloses a medical waste collection container that is sealed with a lid when filled to prevent it from being opened arbitrarily.

[0004] However, since medical waste collection containers must be incinerated together with medical waste after a single use by law, if all materials, such as the medical waste collection container, are made of synthetic resin, they cannot be recycled and are incinerated after a single use, which causes a waste of resources. In addition, if the medical waste collection container is incinerated, the synthetic resin material is burned, generating a large amount of toxic gas, which causes serious environmental pollution.

[0005] Meanwhile, when medical waste collection containers made of paper were transported for incineration after collection, there were problems such as infection due to the medical waste stored inside leaking out due to opening by external force.

[0006] The object of this invention is to provide a medical waste storage tube with improved sealability, which is made of paper, an environmentally friendly material, so as to minimize environmental pollution caused by incineration, and has excellent sealability to prevent leakage of medical waste.

[0007] In order to solve the above problem, the present invention provides a medical waste storage pipe having improved sealing properties, characterized by including: a body part having a conical body member formed by rolling paper in multiple layers to be hollow, the lower end having a first diameter and the upper end having a second diameter larger than the first diameter, and a hook part protruding in a ring shape along the inner surface at a position spaced apart from the upper end of the conical body member; a bottom part formed of a paper material and blocking the lower end of the conical body member to form a storage space therein; and a cover part formed of a paper material and having a first cover part having a disc shape that is hooked to the hook part and a second cover part that is connected to the first cover part and is in close contact with the inner surface of the conical body member.

[0008] Preferably, a concave groove may be formed on the outer surface of the conical body member corresponding to the hook portion.

[0009] Preferably, a plurality of joints that are joined to the bottom portion at the lower end of the conical body member can be bent parallel to the cover portion.

[0010] Preferably, the second cover member may include a first cover having an annular band shape that is in close contact with the inner surface of the conical body member, and a second cover that is bent from the first cover parallel to the bottom portion and is coupled to the first cover member.

[0011] Preferably, the conical body member is provided with a handle portion formed by cutting in a tongue shape, and an end of the handle portion is in contact with an end of the second cover member to prevent the second cover member from being separated from the conical body member.

[0012] Preferably, a storage bag for storing the medical waste is attached to the conical body member, and an opening / closing member for opening / closing the entrance of the storage bag is formed to prevent leakage of the medical waste, and the storage bag is a paper bag with a synthetic resin coated on the inner surface, and the opening / closing member may include a double-sided adhesive tape.

[0013] The medical waste storage tube with improved sealing properties according to the present invention is made of paper, an environmentally friendly material, by placing a circular paper material cover portion on a hook protruding along the inner surface at a predetermined distance from the top of a conical body member formed by rolling multiple layers of paper to make it hollow, thereby minimizing environmental pollution due to incineration and having excellent sealing properties, thereby preventing leakage of medical waste.

[0019] FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of a medical waste storage tube with improved sealing properties according to another embodiment of the present invention.

[0020] The invention described below can undergo various transformations and have various embodiments, and it should be understood that this is not intended to limit the invention to a specific embodiment, but includes all transformations, equivalents, or substitutes included in the spirit and technical scope of the invention.

[0021] The terminology used herein is intended solely to describe specific embodiments and is not intended to limit the invention. Singular expressions include plural expressions unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Furthermore, where at least two distinct embodiments are described, the components of each embodiment may be combined and used interchangeably, in whole or in part, without departing from the technical spirit of the invention, even if not otherwise specified.

[0022] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 5, a medical waste storage tube (10) with improved sealing according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a body portion (100), a bottom portion (300), and a cover portion (500).

[0023] The body (100) is formed by rolling multiple layers of paper to form a hollow space, thereby forming a columnar shape with an open upper and lower hollow space.

[0024] The body part (100) includes a conical body member (110), a catch (130), a groove (150), and a joint (170).

[0025] The conical body member (110) is manufactured in a conical shape with a lower portion having a first diameter (D1) and an upper portion having a second diameter (D2) larger than the first diameter (D1), thereby forming a top-bottom conical shape.

[0026] In one embodiment of the present invention, by forming a conical body member (110) in a conical shape, it is possible to prevent breakage or deformation of shape even when a large load is applied to the body portion (100).

[0027] A handle portion (111) is formed on the conical body member (110) with the upper portion cut into a tongue shape or a “U” shape.

[0028] At least one handle portion (111) is formed, and the user can put his / her hand into it when carrying the medical waste storage tube (10), and it functions as a catch member to prevent the cover portion (500) to be described later from being accidentally detached. To implement this, the cut-off lower end of the handle portion (111) is formed at a position corresponding to the upper portion of the cover portion (500) to be described later among the conical body members (110).

[0029] The catch (130) protrudes from the inner surface of the conical body member (110) at a certain distance from the top of the conical body member (110) and determines the joining position of the cover member (500) to be described later.

[0030] The catch (130) may protrude in a ring shape along the inner surface of the conical body member (110). In this case, the catch (130) may be formed by manufacturing a paper material in a ring shape and then bonding it to the inner surface of the conical body member (110).

[0031] The catch (130) can be formed by pressing the conical body member (110) in a direction from the outer surface of the conical body member (110) toward the inner surface. In this case, since the catch (130) is formed from the outer surface of the conical body member (110) toward the inner surface, a concave groove (150) corresponding to the catch (130) is formed on the outer surface of the conical body member (110).

[0032] In an embodiment of the present invention, a band-shaped identification tape or a ring-shaped identification ring having various colors may be placed inside the concave groove (150) so that the risk level and type of medical waste stored in the medical waste storage tube (10) can be easily distinguished with the naked eye. For example, the risk level of medical waste can be easily distinguished by using red for a high risk of infection, orange for a medium risk, and green for a low risk of infection.

[0033] Meanwhile, a strap member can be combined in a concave groove (150) formed on the outer surface of the conical body member (110) to prevent the medical tubes from falling over during transport when stacking the medical tubes in multiple stages.

[0034] In the embodiment of this invention, the catch (130) is illustrated and described as protruding in a semicircular shape from the inner surface of the conical body member (110) when viewed in cross section, but may be formed in various shapes such as a triangle, square, and oval.

[0035] By fixing the lower part of the cover part (500) to be described later on the hook part (130), the sealing force of the medical waste storage tube can be improved, and when the medical waste storage tubes are stacked in multiple stages, the cover part (500) can be prevented from sinking or being damaged.

[0036] A plurality of joints (170) are formed at the bottom of the conical body member (110), and are joined to the bottom member (300) to be described later by folding inward through an adhesive member (1).

[0037] The bottom part (300) is formed of the same paper material as the conical body member (110) and is formed in a circular shape corresponding to the lower part of the conical body member (110).

[0038] In an embodiment of the present invention, the bottom portion (300) may be formed by laminating multiple sheets of paper having a circular shape. For example, the bottom portion (300) may be formed by a first bottom portion (310) in which multiple sheets of paper are laminated and a second bottom portion (330) in which multiple sheets of paper are laminated, and the first and second bottom portions (310, 330) are mutually joined.

[0039] The bottom part (300) is joined to the inner surface of the folded joint part (170) and blocks the lower part of the conical body member (110) to form a storage space capable of storing medical waste inside the conical body member (110).

[0040] Although in one embodiment of the present invention the bottom portion (300) is shown and described as being joined to the inner surface of the folded joint portion (170), alternatively the bottom portion (300) may be joined to the outer surface of the folded joint portion (170), or two bottom portions (300) may be joined, one to each of the inner and outer surfaces of the joint portion (170).

[0041] The cover part (500) is formed of the same paper material as the conical body member (110) and includes a first cover member (510) and a second cover member (530).

[0042] The first cover member (510) is formed in a shape corresponding to the opened upper portion of the body portion (100), for example, in a circular shape, parallel to the bottom portion (300), and blocks the opened upper portion of the body portion (100) to seal the storage space of the conical body member (110).

[0043] In an embodiment of the present invention, the first cover member (510) is attached to the hook portion (130) protruding along the inner surface of the conical body member (110) so as to be able to withstand the load during stacking together with sealing.

[0044] In an embodiment of the present invention, the first cover member (510) may be formed by laminating multiple sheets of paper in the shape of a circular plate. For example, the first cover member (510) may be formed by a first circular plate (511) in which multiple sheets of paper are laminated and a second circular plate (513) in which multiple sheets of paper are laminated, and the first and second circular plates (511, 513) are mutually bonded.

[0045] The second cover member (530) is joined to the first cover member (510), and a portion thereof is in close contact with the inner surface of the conical body member (110).

[0046] The second cover member (530) includes a first cover (531) and a second cover (533).

[0047] The first cover (531) is formed in a circular band shape, and the outer surface is firmly attached to the inner surface of the conical body member (110) through an adhesive member (1).

[0048] In an embodiment of the present invention, the first cover (531) can be formed with the same slope as the inclined inner surface of the conical body member (110), thereby improving the sealing force.

[0049] The second cover (533) is folded parallel to the bottom portion (300) from the first cover (531), and the lower portion is joined to the upper portion of the first cover member (510).

[0050] In an embodiment of the present invention, the second cover (533) is arranged parallel to the bottom portion (300), and the second cover (533) is formed to be sized to contact the lower end of the conical body member (110). This is to prevent the first cover (531) from sinking or being damaged when another medical waste storage tube is stacked on the second cover (533).

[0051] Meanwhile, the end of the first cover (531) among the second cover members (530) is in contact with the end of the bent handle member (111), and the cut end of the handle member (111) is in contact with the end of the first cover (531), thereby preventing the cover member (500) from being separated from the conical body member (110).

[0052] Meanwhile, a coating film (2) may be formed on the inner surface of a medical waste storage tube (10) in which medical waste is stored to prevent leakage of medical waste by coating a synthetic resin material in the form of a thin film.

[0053] Specifically, the coating film (2) can be formed on the inner surface of the conical body member (110), the upper surface of the bottom portion (300) facing the cover portion (500), and the lower surface of the cover portion (500) facing the bottom portion (300).

[0054] Although in one embodiment of the present invention, the coating film (2) is shown and described as being formed on the inner surface of the medical waste storage tube (10) where the medical waste is placed, the coating film (2) may be formed on the outer surface together with the inner surface of the medical waste storage tube (10) to improve the antifouling and waterproof properties.

[0055] FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of a medical waste storage tube with improved sealing properties according to another embodiment of the present invention.

[0056] The medical waste storage tube (10) with improved sealing properties illustrated in FIG. 6 has substantially the same configuration as the medical waste storage tube illustrated and described in FIGS. 1 to 5 above, except for the storage bag (3) and the opening / closing member (4). Therefore, duplicate descriptions of the same configurations are omitted, and the same names and reference numerals are assigned to the same technical configurations.

[0057] Referring to Fig. 6, a medical waste storage tube (10) with improved sealing properties may further include a storage bag (3) and an opening / closing member (4).

[0058] The storage bag (3) is, for example, a paper bag with a synthetic resin coating on the inner surface, and a portion of the storage bag (3) can be attached to the inner surface of the body (100).

[0059] The storage bag (3) improves user convenience by allowing the user to open the storage bag (3) attached to the inner side of the body (100) and immediately put the medical waste into the storage bag (3) and seal it without having to prepare a separate bag when storing medical waste in the medical waste storage tube (10).

[0060] Although in one embodiment of this invention a portion of the storage bag (3) is shown and described as being attached to the inner surface of the body portion (100), the storage bag (3) may alternatively be attached to the bottom portion (300) or the cover portion (500).

[0061] Meanwhile, an opening / closing member (4) for opening / closing the entrance of the storage bag (3) may be formed at the entrance of the storage bag (3) to prevent leakage of medical waste placed in the bag.

[0062] The opening / closing member (4) may include, for example, a double-sided adhesive tape having a belt shape. In addition, various members capable of opening and closing the entrance of the storage bag (3), such as Velcro, strings, and zippers, may be used as the opening / closing member (4).

[0063] As described in detail above, the medical waste storage tube with improved sealing properties according to an embodiment of the present invention is made of paper, an environmentally friendly material, so that environmental pollution caused by incineration can be minimized, and the excellent sealing properties prevent leakage of medical waste.

[0064] Meanwhile, the embodiments disclosed in this drawing are merely specific examples presented to aid understanding and are not intended to limit the scope of this invention. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that other modifications based on the technical concepts of this invention are possible in addition to the embodiments disclosed herein.
