[0032] Various exemplary embodiments of the present application will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be noted that unless otherwise specifically stated, the relative arrangements of components and steps, numerical expressions and numerical values set forth in these embodiments do not limit the scope of the present application.

[0033] The following description of at least one exemplary embodiment is merely illustrative in nature and is in no way intended to limit the present disclosure, its application, or uses.

[0034] Technologies, methods, and equipment known to ordinary technicians in the relevant art may not be discussed in detail, but where appropriate, the technologies, methods, and equipment should be considered part of the specification.

[0035] In all examples shown and discussed herein, any specific values should be interpreted as merely exemplary and not limiting. Therefore, other examples of the exemplary embodiments may have different values.

[0036] It should be noted that like reference numerals and letters refer to like items in the following figures, and therefore, once an item is defined in one figure, it need not be further discussed in subsequent figures.

[0037] 1-10 , according to some embodiments of the present application, an energy storage device 200 is provided. The energy storage device 200 includes an electrical compartment 1, a battery compartment 2, and a temperature control compartment 3. The electrical compartment 1 has a first end and a second end disposed opposite to each other along a first direction; the battery compartment 2 is connected to the second end of the electrical compartment 1;

[0038] The electrical compartment 1 comprises an electrical compartment and an opening communicating with the electrical compartment. The opening is formed at an end surface of a first end of the electrical compartment 1 . An electrical compartment door 100 is provided at the opening. The electrical compartment is provided with electric control components.

[0039] Optionally, the energy storage device 200 further includes a temperature control cabin 3, which is connected to the end of the battery compartment 2 away from the electrical compartment 1, and the electrical compartment 1, the battery compartment 2, and the temperature control cabin 3 are arranged in sequence along the first direction. Optionally, the energy storage device 200 can be an energy storage container.

[0040] In the related art, a battery compartment, an electrical compartment, and another battery compartment are arranged in sequence along the length of an energy storage container, with the electrical compartment's hatch and maintenance surface located along the length of the container. With this structural arrangement, if the battery compartment space and thus battery capacity are to be increased within a limited container, the components within the electrical compartment must be arranged as closely as possible across the width of the container. This results in many components being located farther back from the hatch when the hatch is opened for maintenance, leading to significant inconvenience in maintenance operations. Furthermore, if components are positioned closer to the hatch to facilitate maintenance, the electrical compartment will occupy a significant amount of space along the length of the container, effectively taking up space in the battery compartments on either side of the electrical compartment. This, in turn, hinders increasing the overall battery capacity within the energy storage container. While this arrangement of components within the electrical compartment facilitates maintenance and repair, it wastes a significant amount of space within the electrical compartment along the width of the container, hindering space utilization within the energy storage container.

[0041] In the energy storage device 200 provided in the embodiment of the present application, the electrical compartment 1, the battery compartment 2, and the temperature control compartment 3 are sequentially arranged along a first direction corresponding to the length of the energy storage device 200. That is, the battery compartment 2 is sandwiched between the electrical compartment 1 and the temperature control compartment 3, and the electrical compartment 1 is located at an end of the energy storage device 200. The electrical compartment 1 and the battery compartment 2 may be separated by a partition.

[0042] The advantages of the above layout are: first, in the energy storage device 200, the electrical compartment door 100 of the electrical compartment 1 is set on the end face of the first end away from the battery compartment 2, so that all the electronic control devices set in the electrical compartment of the electrical compartment 1 are arranged close to the electrical compartment door 100, which can reduce the size of the electrical compartment 1 in the first direction, and then more space behind the electrical compartment door 100 can be reserved for the battery compartment 2 as much as possible, which is conducive to increasing the capacity of the battery module set in the battery compartment 2 and improving the energy storage density of the energy storage device 200.

[0043] Furthermore, all electronic components within the electrical compartment are arranged near the electrical compartment door 100. When the electrical compartment door 100 is opened, all components are exposed, making it easier to debug, repair, and replace them. When the electrical compartment door 100 is closed, the stability and safety of the electronic components within the electrical compartment 1 are maintained, reducing the impact of the external environment on the electronic components within the electrical compartment 1 and improving the stability and safety of the energy storage device 200.

[0044] Secondly, only one surface of the electrical compartment 1 is in contact with the battery compartment 2, that is, the end surface of the second end of the electrical compartment 1 is in contact with the battery compartment 2. In this way, when the battery installed in the battery compartment 2 suffers thermal runaway and the battery compartment 2 needs to be cooled by water, the electrical compartment 1 may only have water entering from one direction, thereby reducing the risk of water entering the electrical compartment 1.

[0045] In addition, the electrical compartment door 100 in the present application can be set to a rotating opening and closing mode. When the electrical compartment door 100 is opened by rotating, the electrical compartment door 100 needs to occupy space along the first direction of the energy storage device 200 when it is opened. Therefore, a larger space needs to be reserved to realize the opening and closing of the electrical compartment door 100. For this purpose, the electrical compartment door 100 can also be configured as a double-door structure. That is, the electrical compartment door 100 includes a first door body and a second door body, the first door body is hingedly connected to one side of the opening of the electrical compartment 1, and the second door body is hingedly connected to the other side of the opening of the electrical compartment 1, and the first door body and the second door body can cooperate to close the opening of the electrical compartment 1, and can also open the opening of the electrical compartment 1 by rotating. By setting up a double-door structure, the space occupied by the electrical compartment door 100 during the opening and closing process is reduced. The electrical compartment door 100 can also be set to a sliding type, a roller shutter type or other forms. The energy storage device 200 can also be provided with the aforementioned electrical compartment door 100, and can also be provided with an operation panel, an observation window and other structures at the end of the energy storage device 200.

[0046] Referring to FIG. 1 , direction a is the first direction, and direction b is the second direction.

[0047] In some embodiments, the electronic control device includes a first battery management system group, a second battery management system group and an electrical connector. The first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are spaced apart along a second direction, and the second direction is perpendicular to the first direction; the electrical connector is arranged between the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group, and the electrical connector is electrically connected to the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group.

[0048] Optionally, the first battery management system group may include one battery management system or multiple battery management systems; the second battery management system group may include one battery management system or multiple battery management systems.

[0049] In addition, the electronic control devices also include a distribution cabinet 16, a lightning protection unit 17 and a fire host 18; the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are arranged in the upper part of the electrical compartment, and the distribution cabinet 16 is arranged below the first battery management system group. The customer's incoming lines are connected to the inside of the distribution cabinet 16 through the incoming line hole directly below; the lightning protection unit 17 and the fire host 18 are arranged in sequence below the second battery management system group; a fire gas cylinder 19 is also provided in the lower right corner of the electrical compartment, which does not affect the front maintenance of the other electronic control devices from the front and maximizes the use of the remaining space.

[0050] In this specific example, the electronic control components within the electrical compartment of electrical compartment 1, namely, the first battery management system assembly, the second battery management system assembly, the electrical connectors, the power distribution cabinet 16, the lightning protection unit 17, and the fire control unit 18, are arranged in a planar manner. As described above, when the electrical compartment door 100 is opened, all the electronic control components within the electrical compartment of electrical compartment 1 are exposed. This is because all electronic control components are arranged along the second and third directions, where the second direction corresponds to the width of the energy storage device, and the third direction corresponds to the height of the energy storage device.

[0051] More specifically, the first battery management system group, the electrical connector and the second battery management system group are arranged along the second direction; along the third direction, the power distribution cabinet 16 is located below the first battery management system group; the lightning protection unit 17 and the fire host 18 are located below the second battery management system group in sequence. There is some remaining space below the fire host 18. This space is reserved for the installation position of new components required by customers, so as to arrange the position of later components in advance.

[0052] If the electronic control components are arranged along the first direction, for example, electronic control component I and electronic control component II are arranged along the first direction, wherein electronic control component I is arranged near the opening of the electrical compartment 1 and electronic control component II is arranged away from the opening of the electrical compartment 1; then when the electrical compartment door 100 is opened, electronic control component I is exposed through the opening, but electronic control component II is at least partially hidden behind electronic control component I, making it inconvenient to operate electronic control component II. However, the layout of the electronic control components in the embodiment of the present application does not have this problem.

[0053] In addition, the layout of the electronic control components in the embodiment of the present application is conducive to saving space of the energy storage device 100 along its length direction (first direction), thereby reserving more space for the battery compartment 2.

[0054] 1 , the first direction is direction a in FIG. 1 , the second direction is direction b in FIG. 1 , and the third direction is direction c in FIG. 1 .

[0055] In some embodiments, the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are symmetrically arranged; for example, the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are symmetrically arranged relative to the central axis of the second direction of the electrical compartment, and the first direction and the second direction are perpendicular to each other.

[0056] In this specific example, the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are symmetrically arranged relative to the central axis of the electrical compartment in the second direction, and are symmetrically arranged. The symmetrical arrangement is more aesthetically pleasing and more versatile. Among them, at least part of the projection of the electrical connector in the second direction coincides with the central axis of the electrical compartment 1 in the second direction. By optimizing the layout of the electronic control components, the maintenance efficiency of the electronic control components can be improved, so as to facilitate the timely discovery and elimination of faults and improve performance. In addition, by arranging the electrical connector in the middle, the symmetrical solution of the battery management system group can also reflect the expansion and compatibility of the battery management system group when connected with an external control module or cable. It can make the electronic control components further flattened, further save space, reduce the length direction dimension, further increase the storage space of the battery assembly, and improve the energy storage density.

[0057] In some embodiments, the first battery management system group includes multiple battery management systems 11 , and an electrical connection interface of each battery management system 11 is electrically connected to a battery module disposed in the battery compartment 2 .

[0058] In this specific example, each battery management system 11 is electrically connected to a battery module and controls the battery module; that is, the battery management system 11 corresponds one-to-one to the battery module set in the battery compartment 2, so that the battery management system 11 can better control the battery module.

[0059] In some embodiments, the electrical connection interface of the battery management system 11 is electrically connected to the battery module through a power harness, and the electrical connection interface is arranged on the end surface of the battery management system 11 close to the battery compartment 2.

[0060] In this specific example, the electrical connection interface of the battery management system 11 is electrically connected to the battery module through a power harness; and the electrical connection interface of the battery management system 11 is arranged on the end face of the battery management system 11 close to the battery compartment 2, so that the battery management system 11 can be conveniently connected to the battery module, making the arrangement of the power harness more neat.

[0061] Optionally, the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group include 1 to 4 battery management systems (BMS) 11 respectively; as shown in Figure 3, eight battery management systems 11 can be set according to actual needs, of which 4 battery management systems 11 are arranged on the upper left side of the electrical compartment as the first battery management system group; the other 4 battery management systems 11 are arranged on the upper right side of the electrical compartment as the second battery management system group.

[0062] Each battery management system 11 is bolted to a column within the electrical compartment. Installation and replacement of the battery management system 11 is straightforward and easy, accessible from the front of the maintenance panel. The rear end of the battery management system 11, away from the electrical compartment 1 opening, is connected to the battery modules within the battery compartment 2 via a power harness.

[0063] In some embodiments, the electrical compartment 1 has a dimension L1 along the first direction, L2 along the second direction, and L3 along the third direction. L1 can be smaller than L2 and L1 can be smaller than L3. Specifically, 200 mm ≤ L1 ≤ 500 mm, 2300 mm ≤ L2 ≤ 2500 mm, and 2700 mm ≤ L3 ≤ 2900 mm. For example, L1 can be set to 240 mm, 300 mm, 350 mm, 400 mm, etc.; L2 can be set to 2300 mm, 2396 mm, 2400 mm, 2450 mm, etc.; and L3 can be set to 2700 mm, 2750 mm, 2800 mm, 2880 mm, etc. It can be seen from the above-mentioned size description that the electrical compartment 1 has a flat structure. By setting the electrical compartment 1 to a flat structure, the space occupied by the electrical compartment 1 can be reduced and the space utilization rate can be improved. Moreover, since the electrical compartment 1 adopts a structure with an end door, the electrical compartment 1 has a larger maintenance surface, and the electronic control components can be arranged and placed in a flat manner. The flat electrical compartment 1 can make it more convenient to install and maintain the electronic control components.

[0064] In addition, the ratio L1 / L2 of the aforementioned L1 and L2 can be set to a first predetermined value, and the ratio L1 / L3 of L1 and L3 can be set to a second predetermined value, wherein the first predetermined value and the second predetermined value can be set within a range greater than 0 and less than 1, for example, set to 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5, 0.8, etc.

[0065] In addition, the dimension of the battery compartment 2 along the first direction is L4, the dimension along the second direction is L5, and the dimension along the third direction is L6, wherein 2400mm≤L4≤4000mm, 2300mm≤L5≤2500mm, and 2700mm≤L6≤2900mm. L4 can be adjusted according to the storage conditions of the battery modules, and its range is not limited to the above-mentioned limitations. It can be determined according to the number of stored battery modules, etc., while L5 and L6 can be adjusted according to the aforementioned L2 and L3. L5 can be set to be the same as L2 (or different), and L6 can also be set to be the same as L3 (or different).

[0066] Taking into account the different demands of customers for the charge and discharge rates of the energy storage device 200, the current passing through the battery management system group connected to the outdoor DC cable will also be different, so the selected electrical connectors and wire specifications will be different. The difference here is that in this set of energy storage devices 200, what changes is the form of the electrical connector. With the current structural design, when the customer's charge and discharge rate changes, except for the partial change of the electrical connector, the other components and positions do not need to be adjusted. The attached figure uses 0.5C and 1C rates as a template for display. The electrical connector here can be slightly adjusted according to different rates to meet different needs. It is connected to the battery management system group internally and to the cable externally. This reflects the scalability and compatibility of the external connection of the battery management system group in this layout scheme.

[0067] In some embodiments, the charge and discharge rate of the battery module arranged in the battery compartment 2 is a first rate; the energy storage device is provided with a first group of external connection ports and a second group of external connection ports; wherein,

[0068] The positive electrode of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group is electrically connected to the positive electrode of the first group of external connection ports through an electrical connector, and the negative electrode of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group is electrically connected to the negative electrode of the first group of external connection ports through an electrical connector; optionally, there can be only one battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group, and the positive electrode / negative electrode of the battery management system 11 is the positive electrode / negative electrode of the one battery management system 11; there can also be multiple battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group, and the positive electrode / negative electrode of the battery management system 11 is the positive electrode / negative electrode of multiple battery management systems 11.

[0069] The positive electrode of the battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group is electrically connected to the positive electrode of the second group of external connection ports via an electrical connector, and the negative electrode of the battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group is electrically connected to the negative electrode of the second group of external connection ports via an electrical connector. Optionally, there can be only one battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group, and the positive electrode / negative electrode of the battery management system 11 is the positive electrode / negative electrode of the single battery management system 11; or there can be multiple battery management systems 11 in the second battery management system group, and the positive electrode / negative electrode of the battery management system 11 is the positive electrode / negative electrode of multiple battery management systems 11.

[0070] In this specific example, when the charge and discharge rate of the battery module is a larger first rate, two groups of external connection ports are used, namely a first group of external connection ports and a second group of external connection ports; wherein the first group of external connection ports is electrically connected to the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group through an electrical connector; the second group of external connection ports is electrically connected to the battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group through an electrical connector.

[0071] Optionally, the first magnification may be, for example, a 1C magnification.

[0072] 4 , in some embodiments, the electrical connector includes a first busbar set 12 and a second busbar set 13 ;

[0073] The first busbar group 12 is arranged close to the first battery management system group, and the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group is electrically connected to the first group of external connection ports through the first busbar group 12;

[0074] The second busbar group 13 is disposed close to the second battery management system group. The battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group is electrically connected to the second group of external connection ports via the second busbar group 13 .

[0075] More specifically, as shown in FIG4 and FIG5 , the first busbar group 12 includes:

[0076] a first sub-bus 121 , through which the positive terminals of the battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group are electrically connected to the positive terminals of the first group of external connection ports; and

[0077] The second sub-bus 122 is insulated from the first sub-bus 121 , and the negative terminal of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group is electrically connected to the negative port of the first group of external connection ports through the second sub-bus 122 .

[0078] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 6 , the first sub-busbar 121 and the second sub-busbar 122 are arranged along a first direction and connected via a first insulating column 120 .

[0079] In this specific example, the first sub-busbar 121 and the second sub-busbar 122 are arranged along the first direction and connected by the first insulating column 120. This arrangement can meet the creepage distance and electrical clearance between the first sub-busbar 121 and the second sub-busbar 122.

[0080] As shown in Figure 7, the first sub-busbar 121 includes a third busbar 3121a and a third sub-busbar 3122a, and the second sub-busbar 122 includes a fourth busbar 3123a and a fourth sub-busbar 3124a. The third busbar 3121a is electrically connected to the positive terminal of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group and the positive port of the first group of external connection ports; the third sub-busbar 3122a is electrically connected to the third busbar 3121a, and the third sub-busbar 3122a is electrically connected to the positive terminal of one or more battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group. The fourth busbar 3123a is electrically connected to the negative terminal of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group and the negative port of the first group of external connection ports. The fourth busbar 3123a and the third busbar 3121a are spaced apart along the first direction and extend along the third direction, and are connected by the first insulating column 120. The third direction is perpendicular to the first direction; the fourth sub-bar 3124a is electrically connected to the fourth busbar 3123a, and the fourth sub-bar 3124a is electrically connected to the negative terminal of one or more battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group.

[0081] There are multiple third sub-rows 3122a, which are spaced apart along the third direction. Different battery management systems 11 can be connected through the multiple third sub-rows 3122a and the multiple fourth sub-rows 3124a, facilitating wiring.

[0082] 6 and 7 , the third busbar 3121a and the fourth busbar 3123a are stacked and spaced apart along the length of the electrical compartment 1. A first insulating post 120 is provided between the third busbar 3121a and the fourth busbar 3123a to separate and insulate the third busbar 3121a and the fourth busbar 3123a from each other. Furthermore, a first insulating post 120 is also provided between the third busbar 3121a and the bottom wall of the electrical compartment 1. Bolts can be used to position the third busbar 3121a and the fourth busbar 3123a on the bottom wall of the electrical compartment 1 along the electrical compartment door 100 of the electrical compartment 1 to the isolation member. The first insulating post 120 then separates the third busbar 3121a, the fourth busbar 3123a, and the isolation member.

[0083] Among them, the third busbar 3121a and the fourth busbar 3123a extend in the height direction. This can facilitate the arrangement of electrical connectors in the height direction, and the battery management system groups located on both sides of the electrical connectors can also be arranged in the height direction. This not only facilitates the electrical connection between the battery module and the battery management system group, but also further reduces the space occupancy of the electrical components. In addition, it can also facilitate the connection with the cable. In combination with the above, the third sub-row 3122a and the fourth sub-row 3124a extend in the direction of the back ion busbar for connecting the battery management system groups in the corresponding positions.

[0084] In addition, similar to the structure of the first busbar group 12, as shown in Figures 4 and 5, the second busbar group 13 includes:

[0085] a third sub-bus 131 , through which the positive electrode terminal of the battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group is electrically connected to the positive electrode port of the second group of external connection ports; and

[0086] The fourth sub-bus 132 is insulated from the third sub-bus 131 ; the negative terminal of the battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group is electrically connected to the negative terminal of the second group of external connection ports through the fourth sub-bus 132 .

[0087] For example, as shown in FIG6 , the third sub-busbar 131 and the fourth sub-busbar 132 are arranged along the first direction and connected by the second insulating column 130 . This arrangement can meet the creepage distance and electrical clearance between the third sub-busbar 131 and the fourth sub-busbar 132 .

[0088] When the charge and discharge rate of the battery is a larger first rate, the first bus group 12 is used to electrically connect the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group to the first group of external connection ports; and the second bus group 13 is used to electrically connect the battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group to the second group of external connection ports.

[0089] Specifically, the first sub-bus 121 in the first bus group 12 is responsible for electrically connecting the positive terminal of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group to the positive port of the first group of external connection ports, and the second sub-bus 122 in the first bus group 12 is responsible for electrically connecting the negative terminal of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group to the negative port of the first group of external connection ports.

[0090] The third sub-bus 131 in the second bus group 13 is responsible for electrically connecting the positive terminal of the battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group to the positive port of the second group of external connection ports, and the fourth sub-bus 132 in the second bus group 13 is responsible for electrically connecting the negative terminal of the battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group to the negative port of the second group of external connection ports.

[0091] As shown in Figure 7, the third sub-busbar 131 includes a fifth busbar 3121b and a fifth sub-busbar 3122b, and the fourth sub-busbar 132 includes a sixth busbar 3123b and a sixth sub-busbar 3124b. The fifth busbar 3121b is electrically connected to the positive terminal of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group and the positive port of the first group of external connection ports; the fifth sub-busbar 3122b is electrically connected to the fifth busbar 3121b, and the fifth sub-busbar 3122b is electrically connected to the positive terminal of one or more battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group. The sixth busbar 3123b is electrically connected to the negative terminal of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group and the negative port of the first group of external connection ports. The sixth busbar 3123b and the fifth busbar 3121b are spaced apart along the first direction and extend along the third direction, and are connected by a second insulating column 130. The third direction is perpendicular to the first direction; the sixth sub-bar 3124b is electrically connected to the sixth busbar 3123b, and the sixth sub-bar 3124b is electrically connected to the negative terminal of one or more battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group.

[0092] There are multiple fifth sub-rows 3122b, which are spaced apart along the third direction. Different battery management systems 11 can be connected through the multiple fifth sub-rows 3122b and the multiple sixth sub-rows 3124b, facilitating wiring.

[0093] 6 and 7 , the fifth busbar 3121b and the sixth busbar 3123b are stacked and spaced apart along the length of the electrical compartment 1. A second insulating post 130 is provided between the fifth busbar 3121b and the sixth busbar 3123b to separate and insulate the fifth and sixth busbars 3121b and 3123b. Furthermore, a second insulating post 130 is also provided between the fifth busbar 3121b and the bottom wall of the electrical compartment 1. Bolts can be used to position the fifth and sixth busbars 3121b and 3123b on the bottom wall of the electrical compartment 1 along the electrical compartment door 100 of the electrical compartment 1 toward the isolation member. The second insulating post 130 then separates the fifth and sixth busbars 3121b and 3123b from the isolation member.

[0094] Among them, the fifth busbar 3121b and the sixth busbar 3123b extend in the height direction. In combination with the above, the fifth sub-row 3122b and the sixth sub-row 3124b extend in the direction of the back ion busbar for connecting the battery management system groups in the corresponding positions.

[0095] In some embodiments, the charge and discharge rate of the battery module arranged in the battery compartment 2 is a second rate, the second rate is less than the first rate, and the energy storage device 100 is provided with a third set of external connection ports;

[0096] The positive electrode terminals of the battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are electrically connected to the positive electrode ports of the third group of external connection ports through electrical connectors;

[0097] The negative electrode terminals of the battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are electrically connected to the negative electrode ports of the third group of external connection ports through electrical connectors.

[0098] For example, the second rate may be a 0.5C rate. When the battery charge / discharge rate is the smaller second rate, the energy storage device 200 is connected to a group of external connection ports, namely, the third group of external connection ports. The battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are both electrically connected to the third group of external connection ports via electrical connectors.

[0099] 8 , in one embodiment, the electrical connector includes a third busbar group 14 and a fourth busbar group 15 , and the third busbar group 14 and the fourth busbar group 15 are insulated from each other;

[0100] The positive electrode terminals of the battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are electrically connected to the positive electrode ports of the third group of external connection ports through the third busbar group 14;

[0101] The negative electrode terminals of the battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group are electrically connected to the negative electrode ports of the third group of external connection ports through the fourth busbar group 15 .

[0102] In this specific example, when the charge and discharge rate of the battery is a smaller second rate, only two bus bars are required. That is, unlike the first bus bar group 12 and the second bus bar group 13 which also include sub-bus bars respectively, the third bus bar group 14 and the fourth bus bar group 15 are both single bus bars.

[0103] Among them, the third bus group 14 is used to electrically connect the positive terminals of all battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group to the positive ports of the third group of external connection ports; the fourth bus group 15 is used to electrically connect the negative terminals of all battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group to the negative ports of the third group of external connection ports.

[0104] As shown in Figure 9, the third busbar group 14 includes a first busbar 3111, and the fourth busbar group 15 includes a second busbar 3113. The first busbar 3111 is electrically connected to the positive terminal of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group, as well as the positive port of the third group of external connection ports. The second busbar 3113 is electrically connected to the negative terminal of the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group and the second battery management system group, as well as the negative port of the third group of external connection ports. The second busbar 3113 and the first busbar 3111 are spaced apart along the first direction and extend along the third direction, with an insulating member disposed therebetween. The third direction is perpendicular to the first direction.

[0105] As shown in Figure 9, the third busbar group 14 further includes a first sub-bar 3112, and the fourth busbar group 15 further includes a second sub-bar 3114. The first sub-bar 3112 is electrically connected to the first busbar 3111 and is electrically connected to the positive terminals of one or more battery management systems 11 in the first and second battery management system groups. The second sub-bar 3114 is electrically connected to the second busbar 3113 and is electrically connected to the negative terminals of one or more battery management systems 11 in the first and second battery management system groups.

[0106] There are multiple first sub-rows 3112 , which are spaced apart along the third direction. Different battery management systems 11 can be connected through the multiple first sub-rows 3112 and the multiple second sub-rows 3114 , facilitating wiring.

[0107] Of course, the electrical connector can be installed on the bottom wall of the electrical compartment 1 , so an insulating column can also be provided between the electrical connector and the bottom wall of the electrical compartment 1 to ensure insulation performance between the electrical connector and the wall of the electrical compartment 1 .

[0108] 8 and 9 , the first busbar 3111 and the second busbar 3113 can be stacked and arranged in the length direction in the electrical compartment 1 and spaced apart. An insulating column is provided between the first busbar 3111 and the second busbar 3113 to separate the first busbar 3111 and the second busbar 3113 and insulate them from each other. In addition, the battery compartment 2 and the electrical compartment 1 can be separated by an isolating member, and an insulating column is also provided between the first busbar 3111 and the isolating member. The first busbar 3111 and the second busbar 3113 can be positioned on the bottom wall of the electrical compartment 1 by bolts along the direction from the electrical compartment door 100 of the electrical compartment 1 to the isolating member, and the first busbar 3111, the second busbar 3113 and the bottom wall of the electrical compartment 1 are separated by the insulating column.

[0109] The first busbar 3111 and the second busbar 3113 extend in the height direction. Multiple first sub-bars 3112 arranged in the height direction can be connected to the first busbar 3111, and multiple first sub-bars 3112 arranged in the height direction can be connected to the second busbar 3113. First sub-bars 3112 extend from both sides of the first busbar 3111 in the width direction to connect to the battery management system 11 on both sides of the electrical connector. Second sub-bars 3114 extend from both sides of the electrical compartment 1 in the width direction to connect to the battery management system 11 on both sides of the electrical connector. This facilitates the arrangement of the electrical connector in the height direction, and the battery management systems 11 located on both sides of the electrical connector can also be arranged in the height direction. This not only facilitates the electrical connection between the battery module and the battery management system group, but also further reduces the space occupied by the electrical components. It also facilitates the connection of cables.

[0110] As before, multiple battery management systems 11 are electrically connected to the first busbar 3111 and the second busbar 3113, which is suitable for low-power mode. Only one electrical connector is required to meet the charging and discharging requirements of multiple battery management systems 11, which can simplify the structure of the electrical connector, reduce costs, optimize performance, and facilitate wiring.

[0111] The battery management system 11 is connected to the external connection port via an electrical connector, then to the PCS (energy storage converter), which in turn connects to the external power supply through the PCS. The PCS converts AC power into DC power. Depending on the user's requirements for the charge and discharge rates of the batteries installed in the battery compartment 2 of the energy storage device, the current passing through the battery management system (BMS) 11 will also vary.

[0112] In summary, when the battery charge and discharge rate is a larger first rate, two sets of external connection ports are used; when the battery charge and discharge rate is a smaller second rate, only one set of external connection ports is used.

[0113] In the energy storage device 200 provided in the embodiment of the present application, the battery management system 11 on the left and the battery management system 11 on the right are arranged symmetrically. This symmetrical arrangement enhances aesthetics and versatility. Furthermore, if the user's requirements for the charge and discharge rates of the batteries installed in the battery compartment 2 of the energy storage device change, only minor changes to the structure of the electrical connectors are required, without changing the structure and position of the remaining electronic control components, thus enhancing compatibility.

[0114] In one embodiment, at least one of the first and second sets of external connection ports includes a DC cable 01, through which the electrical connector connects to the external energy storage converter. As shown in FIG10 , a cable entry hole 104 is defined at the bottom of the electrical compartment 1. A portion of the DC cable 01 passes through the cable entry hole 104 and is disposed within the electrical compartment. The DC cable 01 extends within the electrical compartment along a third direction; the first and third directions are perpendicular to each other. Cable entry hole 104 is located at the bottom of the electrical compartment door 100 to prevent the cable from interfering with the opening and closing of the electrical compartment door 100, facilitating assembly and maintenance of the energy storage device 200.

[0115] In addition, the wire hole 104 can be located in the middle of the width of the energy storage device 200. The electrical connector can be located in the middle of the width of the electrical compartment 1. By locating the wire hole 104 in the middle of the width of the electrical compartment 1, it is possible to facilitate electrical connection between the cables and the electrical connectors in the electrical compartment 1, simplifying wiring.

[0116] More specifically, as shown in Figure 11 , the end of the first sub-busbar 121 is connected to the positive cable in the first set of DC cables, which in turn is connected to the PCS. The end of the second sub-busbar 122 is connected to the negative cable in the first set of DC cables, which in turn is connected to the PCS. When there are four battery management systems 11 in the first battery management system group, there are four positive and four negative cables in the first set of DC cables.

[0117] The end of the third sub-busbar 131 is connected to the positive cable in the second set of DC cables and further to the PCS. The end of the fourth sub-busbar 132 is connected to the negative cable in the second set of DC cables and further to the PCS. When there are four battery management systems 11 in the second battery management system group, there are four positive and four negative cables in the second set of DC cables.

[0118] As shown in Figure 4, A represents the rear end of the battery management system 11; B represents the connection between the battery management system 11 in the first battery management system group and the first bus group 12; C represents the connection between the battery management system 11 in the second battery management system group and the second bus group 13; D represents the connection between the first bus group 12 and the first group of DC cables 01; E represents the connection between the second bus group 13 and the second group of DC cables 01.

[0119] As shown in Figure 12 , the end of the third busbar group 14 is connected to the positive cable of the DC cable and then to the PCS. The end of the fourth busbar group 15 is connected to the negative cable of the DC cable and then to the PCS. When there are four battery management systems 11 in each of the first and second battery management system groups, there are four positive and four negative DC cables.

[0120] Specifically, the above-mentioned first sub-bus 121, second sub-bus 122, third sub-bus 131, fourth sub-bus 132; and third bus group 14 and fourth bus group 15, all buses include a bus main bar extending along a third direction and a bus branch connected to the side of the bus main bar; wherein the bus branch is used to connect to each battery management system 11, and the end of the bus main bar is connected to the DC cable 01.

[0121] In addition, the main busbars of the third busbar group 14 and the main busbars of the fourth busbar group 15 may be arranged at intervals along the first direction and connected by insulating columns.

[0122] As shown in Figure 13, when the charge and discharge rate of the battery is further reduced, for example, to the third rate (0.25C), the setting of the electrical connector can be exactly the same as when the charge and discharge rate of the battery module is the second rate, that is, the electrical connector includes a third bus group 14 and a fourth bus group 15.

[0123] The difference between the third and second power rates is that, at the lower third power rate, the third and fourth busbar groups 14 and 15 can be reduced in size, for example, by narrowing their width. Furthermore, smaller PCSs can be used, and the number of DC cables can be reduced accordingly, for example, with two positive and two negative DC cables. Of course, the same third and fourth busbar groups 14 and 15 as at the second power rate can also be used as electrical connectors at the third power rate.

[0124] In summary, when the user's requirements for the charge and discharge rates of the battery installed in the battery compartment 2 in the energy storage device 200 change, only a small-scale change needs to be made to the structure of the electrical connector without changing the structure and position of the remaining electronic control components; therefore, the battery management system 11 has strong expansion compatibility at different charge and discharge rates, and can better meet the different needs of users.

[0125] 3 and 10 , in some embodiments, the electrical connector is connected to the PCS via a DC cable 01 and then to an external power supply device. A cable entry hole 104 is provided at the bottom of the electrical compartment 1. A portion of the DC cable 01 passes through the cable entry hole 104 and is disposed in the electrical compartment. The DC cable 01 extends along a third direction in the electrical compartment.

[0126] In this specific example, DC cable 01 is arranged vertically within the electrical compartment 1, extending along the third direction. This eliminates the need for bending, making installation quick and easy. Furthermore, the ends of DC cable 01 can be secured to cable supports 102 within the electrical compartment using cable ties to prevent damage to the busbar structure caused by the weight of DC cable 01.

[0127] The cable support 102 extends vertically, with one end of the cable support 102 facing the cable entry hole 104 and the other end being used to connect to the electronic control device. The cable support 102 provides convenient support for the cables, reduces stress at the connection between the cables and the electronic control device, improves cable stability, optimizes cable routing, and facilitates maintenance of the electronic control device. Multiple cable entry holes 104 may be provided, and these multiple cable entry holes 104 may be located midway along the width of the ends of the energy storage device 200.

[0128] 3 , in some embodiments, the electrical compartment is provided with a protective plate 101 , which covers at least a portion of the surface of the electrical control component facing the opening.

[0129] In this specific example, protective plate 101 can be installed to protect operators and improve operational safety. For example, protective plate 101 can be placed in front of the busbar and at the connection between the busbar and the DC cable. Optionally, protective plate 101 can be fixed to compatible fixing holes (possibly located at opposite corners) on the BMS using bolts or screws to facilitate maintenance and assembly and disassembly. Protective plate 101 can be a transparent polycarbonate board.

[0130] In some embodiments, along the first direction, a ratio of a size of the battery compartment 2 to a size of the electrical compartment 1 is A1, wherein 10:1≤A1≤20:1.

[0131] In this specific example, the energy storage device 200 is arranged in the battery compartment 2 as much as possible along the first direction, which can increase the volume of the battery compartment and thus improve the capacity of the battery module.

[0132] In the aforementioned embodiments, C represents the charge / discharge capacity of the battery module. 1C represents the current intensity when the battery is fully discharged in one hour. For example, if an 18650 battery with a nominal discharge capacity of 2200mA·h is discharged at 1C for one hour, the discharge current is 2200mA.

[0133] Charge / discharge rate = charge / discharge current / rated capacity. For example, if a battery with a rated capacity of 100A·h is discharged at 20A, its discharge rate is 0.2C. Battery discharge C-rates, such as 1C, 2C, and 0.2C, are a measure of the battery's discharge rate: a measure of discharge speed. For example, if the battery capacity is discharged in 1 hour, it's called a 1C discharge; if it's discharged in 5 hours, it's called a 0.2C discharge (1 / 5). Battery capacity can generally be measured using different discharge currents. For example, for a 24A·h battery, a 2C discharge current is 48A, and a 0.5C discharge current is 12A.

[0134] To further improve the stability and safety of the electrical connector, avoid accidental contact, and avoid short circuits caused by environmental changes, the surface of the electrical connector is dipped with an epoxy resin layer in this application. This can further improve the insulation performance of the electrical connector 1 and ensure a safe and stable electrical connection.

[0135] The energy storage device 200 of the embodiment of the present application may also include a separator that separates the battery compartment 2 from the electrical compartment 1, isolating the battery modules from the electronic control components and improving the stability and safety of the energy storage device 200. Furthermore, because the electrical compartment 1, which houses the electronic control components, is located at the end of the energy storage device 200 and is designed with an open door, it facilitates the installation and maintenance of the electronic control components and facilitates the flat design of the electrical compartment 1, thereby optimizing the performance and space utilization of the energy storage device 200.

[0136] In addition, when a battery module fails, since only one side of the electronic control device is close to the battery module, the impact of the battery module failure on the electronic control device can be reduced, the risk points of the electronic control device are reduced, and the impact on the electronic control device during the process of handling the battery failure is reduced.

[0137] In combination with the above-mentioned embodiment, a cable bracket 102 is provided in the electrical compartment 1, and the cable bracket 102 can also extend in the height direction. In this way, the cable bracket 102 can be opposite to the first busbar 3111 and the second busbar 3113 to position and guide the cables connected to the first busbar 3111 and the second busbar 3113, thereby achieving effective positioning of the cables and optimizing the performance of the energy storage device 200.

[0138] In conjunction with the above, in some examples, the battery management system 11 is connected to electrical connectors. The electrical connectors are divided into two groups (as shown in FIG7 ), each group being used to connect four battery management systems 11. The electrical connectors in each group are spatially arranged at different heights. Each busbar structure includes a first busbar 3111 and a second busbar 3113, secured between them by rubber insulators to ensure creepage and clearance distances. The busbar structure is coated with epoxy resin, with the positive pole painted red and the negative pole painted black. The two busbar structures are interchangeable for compatibility. As shown in FIG4 , the ends of the first busbar 3111 and the second busbar 3113 are connected to the outdoor DC cables 01. Each busbar structure connects to four outdoor positive cables and four outdoor negative cables, respectively, to maintain battery charging and discharging requirements. The DC cables 01 enter the unit through a cable entry hole in the bottom of the container (each equipped with a waterproof gland). Due to this busbar structure, customers can simply connect the cables vertically, without bending the cables, making it convenient and quick. At the same time, the cable ends can be fixed to the cable bracket 102 by a cable tie to prevent damage to the copper busbar structure caused by continuous stress from the cable weight. Currently, this design satisfies the energy storage system to charge and discharge at the C rate.

[0139] For safety reasons, the electrical connectors near the electrical compartment door 100 and the customer incoming cable connection are all protected with transparent PC panels. This ensures that under normal circumstances, when the maintenance door is open, personnel cannot directly touch the DC high-voltage cables, ensuring personnel safety. The transparent PC panels are bolted to compatible mounting holes on the battery management system 11, facilitating maintenance and disassembly.

[0140] In this application, the electrical compartment 1 is designed to contact the battery compartment 2 on only one side, minimizing this risk. The location and layout of the battery management system and electrical connectors within the electrical compartment 1 remain unchanged. The location and layout of other electronic control components and firefighting equipment can be adjusted based on customer needs to accommodate future demands for more components.

[0141] Among them, at least one of the busbar and the sub-bar in the present application can be set as a copper bar.

[0142] According to other embodiments of the present application, an energy storage system 1000 is provided.

[0143] 14 , the energy storage system 200 includes a plurality of energy storage devices 200 as described above, and the plurality of energy storage devices 200 are electrically connected to each other.

[0144] The above embodiments focus on the differences between the various embodiments. As long as the different optimization features between the various embodiments are not contradictory, they can be combined to form a better embodiment. Considering the simplicity of the text, they will not be repeated here.
