[0022] Hereinafter, a care management support system 1 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0023] In each drawing, the same or corresponding parts are denoted by the same reference numerals. In the description of this embodiment, the description of the same or corresponding parts will be omitted or simplified as appropriate.
[0024] The outline and configuration of a care management support system 1 according to this embodiment will be described with reference to FIG.
[0025] The care management support system 1 according to this embodiment includes a plurality of terminal devices 10 and an information processing device 20. The plurality of terminal devices 10 and the information processing device 20 are communicably connected to a network 30 including, for example, a mobile communication network and the Internet.
[0026] The multiple terminal devices 10 are any devices used by each user (e.g., care workers, caregivers, care managers, nurses, etc.). For example, general-purpose electronic devices such as smartphones or tablet terminals, or dedicated electronic devices can be used as the terminal devices 10. Note that while FIG. 1 shows an example in which the care management support system 1 is equipped with three terminal devices 10, this is not limiting. The care management support system 1 may be equipped with fewer than three terminal devices 10, or may be equipped with four or more terminal devices 10.
[0027] The information processing device 20 is, for example, a server device installed in a data center or the like. For example, the information processing device 20 is a server belonging to a cloud computing system or other computing system. The information processing device 20 is capable of communicating with the terminal device 10 via the network 30. Note that while FIG. 1 shows an example in which the care management support system 1 is equipped with one information processing device 20, this is not limiting. The care management support system 1 may be equipped with two or more information processing devices 20.
[0028] First, an overview of this embodiment will be described, and details will be provided later. The information processing device 20 acquires information related to a preset assistance level for a care recipient. In this embodiment, the information related to the assistance level is information indicating the level of assistance required for the care recipient, as determined by an assessment. An assessment is an act of evaluating the condition and situation of a care recipient, and is performed when using care services for the first time, when entering a care facility, or at any other time. In this embodiment, a care recipient is someone who requires care or support in daily life. The information processing device 20 also acquires historical information about assistance provided to the care recipient. The information processing device 20 then notifies a suggestion when the historical information relates to a level different from the assistance level.
[0029] According to this embodiment, the information processing device 20 acquires information on a preset assistance level for a care recipient and actual assistance information, and notifies a user of a suggestion if the actual assistance information is at a level different from the assistance level. Thus, this embodiment improves technology related to care support in that it can compare the actual assistance information with the preset assistance level to determine whether it is at the same level as the preset assistance level and notify the user of an appropriate suggestion.
[0030] Next, each component of the care management support system 1 will be described in detail.
[0031] (Configuration of Terminal Device) As shown in FIG. 2 , the terminal device 10 includes a control unit 11 , a storage unit 12 , a communication unit 13 , an input unit 14 , and an output unit 15 .

The input unit 14 accepts an operation to input data used in the operation of the terminal device 10. The input unit 14 may be connected to the terminal device 10 as an external input device instead of being provided in the terminal device 10. Any connection method may be used, for example, a Universal Serial Bus (USB), a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) (registered trademark), or Bluetooth (registered trademark).
[0036] The output unit 15 includes at least one output interface. The output interface is, for example, a display that outputs information as video, or a speaker that outputs information as audio. The display is, for example, an LCD (liquid crystal display) or an organic EL (electro luminescence) display. The output unit 15 displays and outputs data obtained by the operation of the terminal device 10. The output unit 15 may be connected to the terminal device 10 as an external output device instead of being provided in the terminal device 10. Any connection method can be used, for example, USB, HDMI (registered trademark), or Bluetooth (registered trademark).
[0037] The functions of the terminal device 10 are realized by executing a program according to this embodiment on a processor corresponding to the terminal device 10. That is, the functions of the terminal device 10 are realized by software. The program causes a computer to execute the operations of the terminal device 10, thereby causing the computer to function as the terminal device 10. That is, the computer functions as the terminal device 10 by executing the operations of the terminal device 10 in accordance with the program.
[0038] In this embodiment, the program can be recorded on a computer-readable recording medium. The computer-readable recording medium includes non-transitory computer-readable media, such as a magnetic recording device, an optical disc, a magneto-optical recording medium, or a semiconductor memory. The program can be distributed, for example, by selling, transferring, or lending a portable recording medium, such as a DVD (digital versatile disc) or a CD-ROM (compact disc read only memory), on which the program is recorded. The program can also be distributed by storing the program in the storage of an external server and transmitting the program from the external server to another computer. The program can also be provided as a program product.
[0039] Some or all of the functions of the terminal device 10 may be realized by a dedicated circuit equivalent to the control unit 11. In other words, some or all of the functions of the terminal device 10 may be realized by hardware.
[0040] (Configuration of Information Processing Apparatus) As shown in FIG. 3 , the information processing apparatus 20 includes a control unit 21 , a storage unit 22 , and a communication unit 23 .
[0041] The control unit 21 includes at least one processor, at least one dedicated circuit, or a combination of these. The processor is a general-purpose processor such as a CPU or GPU, or a dedicated processor specialized for a specific process. The dedicated circuit is, for example, an FPGA or an ASIC. The control unit 21 controls each unit of the information processing device 20 and executes processes related to the operation of the information processing device 20.
[0042] The storage unit 22 includes at least one semiconductor memory, at least one magnetic memory, at least one optical memory, or a combination of at least two of these. The semiconductor memory is, for example, a RAM or a ROM. The RAM is, for example, an SRAM or a DRAM. The ROM is, for example, an EEPROM. The storage unit 22 functions as, for example, a main storage device, an auxiliary storage device, or a cache memory. The storage unit 22 stores data used in the operation of the information processing device 20 and data obtained by the operation of the information processing device 20.
[0043] In this embodiment, the storage unit 22 stores a care database 220. Fig. 4 shows an example of the care database 220. For example, the care database 220 includes IDs of care recipients, information on assistance levels, and performance information.
[0044] The care recipient ID is information that uniquely identifies the care recipient. For example, the care recipient ID may be a number or symbol assigned to a resident of a residential facility such as a nursing home or a home for the elderly. In this embodiment, the care recipient is described as a resident of the residential facility, but the care recipient is not limited to this. For example, the care recipient may be a person receiving home care.
[0045] The information regarding the assistance level includes at least one of independence, supervision, partial assistance, and full assistance related to the predetermined assistance. Here, independence refers to a state in which the care recipient can independently perform the actions set in the predetermined assistance without supervision by the care staff. Supervision refers to a state in which the care recipient can independently perform the actions set in the predetermined assistance, but the care staff supervises the actions just in case. Partial assistance refers to a state in which the care staff partially supports the actions of the care recipient, and full assistance refers to a state in which complete support is required. The support received from the care staff increases in the order of independence, supervision, partial assistance, and full assistance. The predetermined assistance includes, for example, excretion assistance. In the following, this embodiment will be described assuming that the predetermined assistance is excretion assistance. Note that the predetermined assistance is not limited to excretion, and the predetermined assistance may also be assistance related to, for example, moving, drinking water, taking medicine, grooming and hygiene, housework, and bathing.
[0046] Furthermore, the information regarding the assistance level may be information indicating the need for assistance for the care recipient during the day and at night. For example, the information regarding the assistance level may include daytime ADL and nighttime ADL. The daytime ADL may be information regarding at least one of independence, partial assistance, supervision, or full assistance during the day (e.g., 6:00-22:00). On the other hand, the nighttime ADL may be information regarding at least one of independence, partial assistance, supervision, or full assistance during the night (e.g., 22:00-6:00 the next day).
[0047] The performance information is information related to the performance of assistance provided to each care recipient during a predetermined period. The predetermined period is, for example, two weeks. Here, the performance information includes information on the performance of predetermined assistance provided in a schedule, as well as information on the performance of assistance not scheduled in a schedule (hereinafter also referred to as non-regular assistance). In other words, non-regular assistance is assistance not originally scheduled in a schedule. For example, non-regular assistance includes emergency toileting assistance or calls (nurse calls) from the care recipient. The occurrence of non-regular assistance more than a predetermined number of times suggests that the care recipient is not appropriately scheduled. Therefore, for example, a suggestion may be issued when non-regular assistance has occurred a first predetermined number of times within the past two weeks. In other words, in this embodiment, the control unit 21 issues a suggestion when the performance information includes information related to non-regular assistance. Here, the first predetermined number is, for example, two times, but is not limited to this. The first predetermined number may be three or more times.
[0048] The performance information may also include information related to the behavior or vital signs of each care recipient during a predetermined period of time, such as the number of incontinence episodes during a predetermined period of time, the number of toilet calls during a predetermined period of time, the number of missed urine calls during a predetermined period of time, the proportion of nighttime urination (low / none) during a predetermined period of time, laxative use status, and duration of constipation.
[0049] The number of missed attempts is the number of times that a certain assistance was scheduled and a user such as a care staff member prepared to provide the assistance, but the assistance was actually unnecessary and was not carried out (hereinafter also referred to as missed assistance).
[0050] In addition to the above information, the care database 220 may store attribute information of the care recipient. For example, the care database 220 may include information such as the room, name, and level of care of the care recipient.
[0051] The care level is an arbitrary index indicating the level of care or support needed in daily life. In this embodiment, the care level can be evaluated on a seven-level scale, from care level 1 to 5 and support level 1 to 2. The care level may be any index indicating the level of care or support needed in daily life, including those established by Japan's care level certification system as well as similar indices established in other countries. Specifically, the care level may be information that can be classified into five levels as established by the Korean system (from mildest to most severe: "Level 5," "Level 4," "Level 3," "Level 2," and "Level 1"). Alternatively, the care level may be, for example, the seven-level scale (VV04-VV10) established by the Dutch long-term care insurance system. Furthermore, the care level may be, for example, the five-level scale (care level 1 to 5) established by the German public long-term care insurance system. Note that the care level is a different index from the assistance level. Even for the same care level, assistance levels such as independent, partial assistance, supervision, and full assistance may be set for each specific assistance, such as excretion.
[0052] At least a part of the data in the care database 220 is created or edited based on user input to the multiple terminal devices 10 or the information processing device 20. Note that at least a part of the data in the care database 220 may be automatically created or edited by a measuring device such as a wearable device carried by the person requiring care.
[0053] The communication unit 23 includes at least one external communication interface. The communication interface may be either a wired communication interface or a wireless communication interface. In the case of wired communication, the communication interface is, for example, a LAN interface or a USB. In the case of wireless communication, the communication interface is, for example, an interface compatible with a mobile communication standard such as LTE, 4G, or 5G, or an interface compatible with short-range wireless communication such as Bluetooth (registered trademark). The communication unit 23 receives data used in the operation of the information processing device 20 and transmits data obtained by the operation of the information processing device 20.
[0054] The functions of the information processing device 20 are realized by executing a program according to this embodiment on a processor corresponding to the control unit 21. That is, the functions of the information processing device 20 are realized by software. The program causes a computer to execute the operations of the information processing device 20, thereby causing the computer to function as the information processing device 20. That is, the computer functions as the information processing device 20 by executing the operations of the information processing device 20 in accordance with the program.
[0055] In this embodiment, a computer temporarily stores a program recorded on a portable recording medium or transmitted from a server in a main storage device. The computer then reads the program stored in the main storage device with a processor and executes processing in accordance with the read program with the processor. The computer may read the program directly from a portable recording medium and execute processing in accordance with the program. The computer may also execute processing in accordance with the received program each time it receives a program from an external server. Processing may also be executed by a so-called ASP (application service provider) type service that realizes functions by issuing execution instructions and obtaining results, rather than transmitting a program from an external server to the computer. Programs include information used for processing by an electronic computer that is equivalent to a program. For example, data that is not a direct instruction to a computer but has properties that define computer processing falls under the category of "equivalent to a program."
[0056] Some or all of the functions of the information processing device 20 may be implemented by a dedicated circuit equivalent to the control unit 21. In other words, some or all of the functions of the information processing device 20 may be implemented by hardware.
[0057] (Operation of Information Processing Apparatus) The operation of the information processing apparatus 20 according to this embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 5. Fig. 5 is a flowchart showing an example of a method executed by the information processing apparatus 20 according to this embodiment.
[0058] Step S100 : The control unit 21 of the information processing device 20 acquires information on the assistance level of each care recipient from the care database 220 .
[0059] Step S200: The control unit 21 acquires from the care database 220 the information on the past record of assistance provided to each care-requiring person.
[0060] Step S300: The control unit 21 determines whether the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level. In other words, the control unit 21 determines whether the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level. Specifically, the control unit 21 determines whether the performance information exceeds or falls below the assistance level.
[0061] For example, if the information regarding the assistance level for excretion of a certain care recipient indicates partial assistance, supervision, or independence, and the performance information of the care recipient indicates full assistance for excretion, the control unit 21 determines that the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level. Furthermore, if the information regarding the assistance level for excretion of a certain care recipient indicates supervision or independence, and the performance information of the care recipient indicates partial assistance or full assistance for excretion, the control unit 21 determines that the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level. On the other hand, if the information regarding the assistance level for excretion of a certain care recipient indicates, for example, partial assistance, and the performance information of the care recipient is all partial assistance, supervision, or independence, the performance information does not exceed the assistance level. In this case, the control unit 21 may determine that the performance information is at the same level as the assistance level. Alternatively, if the information regarding the assistance level for excretion of a certain care recipient indicates, for example, partial assistance, and the performance information of the care recipient is all supervision or independence, the performance information is below the assistance level. In this case, the control unit 21 may determine that the performance information is below the assistance level. Furthermore, for example, when making a determination, the control unit 21 may determine whether the assistance level associated with the care-requiring person matches the historical information based on the predetermined number of times associated with the assistance level and stored in the storage unit 22 and the number of times of assistance included in the historical information. That is, when the historical information relates to a level different from the assistance level, the control unit 21 may determine whether the predetermined number of times associated with the assistance level and the number of times of assistance included in the historical information differ. Then, when it is determined that the predetermined number of times and the number of times of assistance differ, the control unit 21 may notify a suggestion. By making a determination based not only on the difference in level but also on the number of times, a more appropriate suggestion can be notified.
[0062] Furthermore, when the information on the assistance level includes daytime ADL and nighttime ADL, the control unit 21 compares these with the corresponding performance information to determine whether the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level. Specifically, for example, if the daytime ADL related to excretion of a certain care recipient is partial assistance, supervision, or independence, and the performance information for the daytime care recipient shows excretion with full assistance, the control unit 21 determines that the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level. Also, for example, if the nighttime ADL related to excretion of a certain care recipient is partial assistance, supervision, or independence, and the performance information for the nighttime care recipient shows excretion with full assistance, the control unit 21 determines that the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level.
[0063] If the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level, the process proceeds to step S400. On the other hand, if the performance information is at the same level as the assistance level, the process ends.
[0064] Step S400: If the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level, the control unit 21 notifies a suggestion. The suggestion indicates that the performance information is at a level different from the assistance level. That is, the control unit 21 notifies a suggestion based on the assistance level and the performance information.
[0065] Any method can be adopted for notifying suggestions. In this embodiment, an example will be described in which suggestions are visually presented using a user interface including the suggestions. Such a user interface may be provided by the terminal device 10 accessing the information processing device 20 or a web server via browser software. Alternatively, an application related to the care management support system 1 may be installed in the terminal device 10, and the terminal device 10 may communicate with the information processing device 20 or an application server via the application, thereby providing the user interface. In this case, user authentication processing, etc. may be performed between the terminal device 10 and the information processing device 20, or between the terminal device 10 and the web server, as appropriate.
[0066] Fig. 6 shows an example of a user interface displayed by the output unit 15 of the terminal device 10. The user interface 600 shown in Fig. 6 is provided to a user of a certain resident facility. As shown in Fig. 6, the user interface 600 includes a table 610.
[0067] Table 610 shows various information corresponding to each care recipient. The various information includes the care recipient's room, name, level of care, daytime ADL, nighttime ADL, suggestions, number of incontinence episodes (last two weeks), number of toilet calls (last two weeks), number of missed episodes (last two weeks), laxative use, duration of constipation, and rate of nighttime urine volume (low / none). This information is generated based on the care database 220.
[0068] The contents of the suggestions in table 610 are determined based on at least one of the actual information and the level of assistance of each care recipient. As shown in Fig. 6, the contents of the suggestions include, for example, "ADL deviation," "incontinence," "call," "increased idle vibration," "partially increased assistance during the day," and "partially increased assistance at night."
[0069] "ADL Deviation" is a suggestion that is notified when any of the following four conditions are met: - The daytime assistance level is partial assistance, supervision, or independence, and there has been daytime urination with full assistance in the past week. - The nighttime assistance level is partial assistance, supervision, or independence, and there has been nighttime urination with full assistance in the past week. - The daytime assistance level is supervision or independence, and there has been daytime urination with partial assistance in the past week. - The nighttime assistance level is supervision or independence, and there has been nighttime urination with partial assistance in the past week.
[0070] "Incontinence" is a suggestion that is notified when, for example, incontinence (including involuntary leakage of urine, situations where diapers leak, and wetting oneself because one is unable to make it to the toilet in time) has occurred a first predetermined number of times in the past two weeks. That is, in this embodiment, the control unit 21 notifies the suggestion when the historical information includes information about incontinence. The user who receives the suggestion can review their excretion assistance schedule (such as increasing the frequency). Here, the first predetermined number of times is, for example, once, but is not limited to this. The first predetermined number of times may also be two or more.
[0071] "Call" is a suggestion that is notified when the number of nurse calls for excretion care in the past week is equal to or greater than a second predetermined number. That is, in this embodiment, the control unit 21 notifies the suggestion when the performance information includes information related to calls. The second predetermined number is, for example, seven times, but is not limited to this. The second predetermined number may be eight times or more, or may be less than seven times.
[0072] "Increased Misses" is a suggestion that is notified when the number of missed attempts at excretion care per week increases by more than a first predetermined percentage compared to the previous week. The first predetermined percentage is, for example, 50%, but is not limited to this. The first predetermined percentage may be greater than 50% or less than 50%. Because missed attempts are likely to reduce productivity, suggestion based on missed attempts can be presented to prevent a decrease in productivity.
[0073] "Fully Assisted Increased - Daytime" is a suggestion that is notified when the daytime assistance level is partial assistance, supervision, or independence, and when there has been a full-assisted daytime excretion during the past week. "Partially Assisted Increased - Daytime" is a suggestion that is notified when the daytime assistance level is supervision or independence, and when there has been a full-assisted daytime excretion during the past week. The suggestion may also be notified when the number of times partial or full daytime assistance is increased by more than a second predetermined percentage compared to the previous week. The second predetermined percentage is, for example, 50%, but is not limited to this. The second predetermined percentage may be greater than 50% or less than 50%.
[0074] "Fully Assisted Increased_Nighttime" is a suggestion that is notified when the nighttime assistance level is partial assistance, supervision, or independence, and when there has been a nighttime elimination requiring full assistance in the past week. "Partially Assisted Increased_Nighttime" is a suggestion that is notified when the nighttime assistance level is supervision or independence, and when there has been a nighttime elimination requiring partial assistance in the past week. Note that the suggestion may be notified when the number of times of partial or full daytime assistance per week has increased by more than a third predetermined percentage compared to the previous week. The third predetermined percentage is, for example, 50%, but is not limited to this. The third predetermined percentage may be greater than 50% or less than 50%. The third predetermined percentage is, for example, 50%, but is not limited to this. The third predetermined percentage may be greater than 50% or less than 50%.
[0075] In this way, in the method of this embodiment, suggestions are notified by the user interface 600 illustrated in Fig. 6, and suggestions for each of the multiple care recipients are displayed in a list. In this way, it is possible to grasp countermeasures for the multiple care recipients in a timely manner.
[0076] Fig. 7 is another example of a user interface displayed by the output unit 15 of the terminal device 10. The user interface 700 shown in Fig. 7 shows information about an individual care recipient (here, resident D). The user interface 700 may be displayed when, for example, a specific care recipient displayed in the table 610 of Fig. 6 is selected by clicking, tapping, or the like.
[0077] The user interface 700 includes objects 710 and graphs 720. The objects 710 include suggestions related to the care recipient, the number of incontinence episodes, the number of excretion calls, the number of missed bowel movements, the constipation period, daytime ADL, and nighttime ADL. Here, the objects 710 include a suggestion indicating that the ADL related to excretion (hereinafter referred to as excretion ADL) is out of sync with the actual information, and a suggestion indicating that partial assistance during the day and at night is increasing.
[0078] The graph 720 shows the number of times assistance was provided for each assistance level during the most recent specified period. The specified period can be selected by the user. The number of times assistance was provided for each level includes partial assistance, supervision, independence, non-toilet assistance, and assistance related to toilet checks. That is, information on assistance at a level different from the specified assistance level may be included as a suggestion. Furthermore, statistical information such as the graph 720 may be included in the information on such different levels of assistance. In addition to statistical information, the suggestion may also include detailed information on individual items. For example, when a user clicks on an area of the graph 720 (corresponding to a specific type of assistance), detailed information on the individual data included in that area may be displayed. FIG. 8 shows an example of detailed information included in the suggestion. The detailed information may include the person requiring care, the level of care, the assistance classification, the care staff, and remarks entered by the care staff, as well as information on the assistance level. As a result, the user can easily understand the suggestions for each care-requiring person through the user interface 700, and can also understand in detail the information on the past record of care that is the basis for the suggestions.
[0079] As described above, according to this embodiment, the information processing device 20 acquires information related to a predetermined assistance level for a care recipient and actual assistance information, and provides suggestions when the actual assistance information indicates a level different from the assistance level. Thus, this embodiment improves care support technology by comparing the actual assistance information with the predetermined assistance level to determine whether it is the same as the predetermined assistance level and providing appropriate suggestions to the user. For example, a discrepancy may occur between the preset information and the actual situation due to an incorrect preset assistance level, or the condition of the care recipient has deteriorated or improved to the point where a higher level of assistance is required. In such cases, the suggestions provided by this embodiment allow the user to modify the care plan to a more optimal one and implement it.
[0080] In this embodiment, an example is described in which information regarding the assistance level is expressed in four levels: independent, supervision, partial assistance, and full assistance, but this is not limited to this. For example, the assistance level may be a level in which the degree of assistance gradually increases (or decreases) in five or more levels, or may be less than four levels. Furthermore, information regarding the assistance level may be a numerical value (e.g., 1-4) representing each level, with a higher numerical value indicating a higher level of assistance required. In this case, "when the actual information relates to a level different from the assistance level" corresponds to a case in which the assistance related to the actual information exceeds or falls below the numerical value representing the level. In other words, when there is an actual experience of exceeding or falling below a predetermined assistance level, the control unit 21 may determine that "when the actual information relates to a level different from the assistance level."
[0081] The information about the assistance level may include information about both daytime and nighttime. By including the information about the assistance level about both daytime and nighttime, it is possible to provide appropriate suggestions to a care recipient who requires different levels of assistance during the day and at night.
[0082] Note that, in the present embodiment, an example has been shown in which the nursing care database 220 is stored in the storage unit 22 of the information processing device 20, but this is not limiting. For example, the nursing care database 220 may be stored in an external device such as a cloud server. In this case, the information processing device 20 acquires necessary information from the external device via the communication unit 23 in steps S100 and S200. Alternatively, a portion of the nursing care database 220 may be stored in an external device such as a cloud server. In this case, the information processing device 20 refers to the storage unit 22 and also acquires necessary information from the external device via the communication unit 23 in steps S100 and S200.
[0083] Although the present disclosure has been described based on the drawings and examples, it should be noted that those skilled in the art can easily make various modifications and alterations based on the present disclosure. Therefore, it should be noted that these modifications and alterations are included in the scope of the present disclosure. For example, the functions included in each means or step can be rearranged so as not to be logically inconsistent, and multiple means or steps can be combined or divided into one.
[0084] For example, in the above-described embodiment, an embodiment is also possible in which the configuration and operation of the information processing device 20 are distributed among multiple computers that can communicate with each other. Also, for example, an embodiment is also possible in which some or all of the components of the information processing device 20 are provided in the terminal device 10. In other words, the method according to this embodiment can be implemented by a care management support system 1 that includes one or more processors. The one or more processors may be provided in at least one of the terminal device 10 and the information processing device 20, and the method according to this embodiment may be executed by the one or more processors performing distributed processing as necessary.
