Description

Contactless metal card with light-emitting element

[0001] The present invention relates to a contactless metal card equipped with a light-emitting element and a method for manufacturing the same.

[0002] In general, cards are classified into magnetic cards using a magnetic strip, smart cards using an IC chip, and hybrid cards that combine these, depending on the recording method. Smart cards are classified into contact and contactless cards, and combination cards that combine these, depending on the reading method. Contactless cards are further classified into proximity communication (NFC) cards that can be read only at a distance of several to several tens of centimeters, and RF cards that can be read from a longer distance. Typically, these methods are often equipped in duplicate.

[0003] Meanwhile, a plastic card is generally issued to a specific member to defer payment for goods or services for a certain period of time. It is mainly used as a substitute for cash, such as a credit card, cash card, or transportation card, or is widely used as various medical cards, membership cards, etc., and nowadays, various types of plastic cards are provided to customers, differentiated according to the customer's credit rating.

[0004] Among these, special cards such as gold cards and platinum cards, which are produced for VIP customers with high credit ratings, are painted in gold or silver to give them a more luxurious feel.

[0005] However, the special cards mentioned above are printed by mixing gold or silver powder with pigments to produce a gold or silver color. Therefore, the gold and silver powder mixed with the pigments are not pure gold or silver, and other pigments and adhesives are mixed in, so the high-gloss texture emitted from pure metals cannot be obtained.

[0006] In addition, unlike pure metals that never change in luster or texture, gold and silver powder have properties that can be altered by conditions such as humidity or temperature. Therefore, if plastic cards are used for a long time, the seal discolors and deteriorates, resulting in problems such as a decrease in luster, and ultimately, it was not possible to provide high-quality cards.

[0007] Therefore, metal cards made of metal are increasingly being used as an alternative. Metal cards offer a sense of weight, making them more premium cards. To meet market demand, metal cards are being replaced with 0.6-0.7mm thick cards, replacing the commonly used 0.3-0.4mm thickness.

[0008] However, conventional metal cards such as this have problems with being harmful to the human body because they are provided as slit-type metal cards containing PVC materials that are harmful to the human body, and it is difficult to provide a scarcity of product value because there are no additional functional components other than the presence of a metal material layer.

[0009] In addition, conventional metal cards had the problem of being difficult to provide the rarity of commercial value as PLCCs because they had no additional functional components other than the metal material layer.

[0010] Therefore, the present invention has been devised to solve the problems of the prior art, and the purpose of the present invention is to provide a contactless metal card equipped with a light-emitting element that can provide an aesthetic feel to the metal card and thus increase its value, and a method for manufacturing the same.

[0061]

[0062] Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of a contactless metal card and a manufacturing method thereof according to the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings.

[0063] Figure 1 is a circuit diagram including a metal card and a reader.

[0064] Referring to FIG. 1, a metal card according to the present invention may include a metal body (200) made of a metal material, an antenna member (100) in which a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120), and a light-emitting unit (130) are installed, and a card chip (400).

[0065] The primary coil antenna (110) can communicate with the card chip (400), and the secondary coil antenna (120) can communicate with the reader chip (500). The primary coil antenna (110) and the secondary coil antenna (120) are installed in a loop shape on the antenna member (100).

[0066] Here, the starting point (S1) of the primary coil antenna (110) is connected to the ending point (E2) of the secondary coil antenna (120), and the ending point (E1) of the primary coil antenna (110) is electrically connected to the starting point (S2) of the secondary coil antenna (120).

[0067] Such a configuration can be achieved through the combination of the antenna member (100) described below and the assembled metal body (200). The metal body (200) is described with reference to FIGS. 2 to 4.

[0068] FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of a metal card according to the present invention, FIGS. 3 to 7 are drawings showing various embodiments of a metal body, and FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view showing a metal body.

[0069] Referring to FIGS. 2 to 8, a metal card according to the present invention may include an antenna member (100) including a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120) and a light-emitting portion, a shielding sheet (300) on the antenna member (100), a metal body (200) that accommodates the shielding sheet (300) and the antenna member (100), and a card chip (400).

[0070] In this case, the metal body (200) is formed of a metal plate (210) and can accommodate the antenna member (100) and card chip (400) described above, and can be printed on at least one side of both sides.

[0071] To this end, the metal body (200) may include a receiving opening (210) for receiving a card chip (400), a plurality of penetration holes (220) formed through which light emitted from a light-emitting element passes, and a milling portion (230) processed to receive an antenna member (100).

[0072] Here, the penetration holes (220) may be configured in multiples, and some examples of the arrangement including the number and the spacing and positions between the penetration holes (220) are illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 7. The arrangement of the penetration holes (220) may be modified in various ways other than those illustrated in the drawings, and the present invention is not limited to the number or arrangement of the penetration holes (220).

[0073] However, for the purpose of a detailed description of the present invention, the metal body (200) illustrated in FIG. 5 will be mainly described.

[0074] The receiving opening (210) is opened so that a chip (400) can be inserted into the metal body (200).

[0075] The penetration holes (220) are arranged in a plurality of positions spaced apart from the receiving opening (210) to transmit light emitted from the LED chips (131 to 134) assembled and installed from the lower side to the outside. Here, the penetration holes (220) can be filled with a light-transmitting plastic resin for the diffusion of light or protection of the LED chips (131 to 134).

[0076] The milling section (230) is machined into an inwardly facing groove on the opposite side of the metal body (200) to form a space in which the antenna member (100) is accommodated.

[0077] Additionally, the present invention may include other embodiments.

[0078] For example, the shielding material may be omitted, as in the metal card illustrated in FIG. 9, and the metal body (200) may include a slit portion (240) extending outward from the receiving opening (210()), as in the example illustrated in FIG. 10.

[0079] The antenna member (100) is described with reference to FIGS. 11 and 12.

[0080] Fig. 11 is a plan view showing an antenna member, and Fig. 12 is a side view of the substrate.

[0081] Referring to FIGS. 11 and 12, the antenna member (100) may further include a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120), a light emitting portion (130), a substrate (140), and a tuning capacitor portion (150).

[0082] The substrate (140) may be a flexible material that is a circuit board on which a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120), and a light-emitting pattern (135) are mounted and / or printed on both sides.

[0083] The primary coil antenna (110) is mounted in a loop shape on one side of the substrate (140), and the starting point is connected to the starting point of the secondary coil antenna (120) via the tuning capacitor section (150), and the ending point is connected to the starting point of the secondary coil antenna (120) so as to be electrically conductive.

[0084] The secondary coil antenna (120) is installed in a loop shape on the outside of the primary coil antenna (110) (e.g., the outer edge of the substrate (140)).

[0085] The tuning capacitor unit (150) compensates for the capacitance of the primary coil and may include a first terminal (C1, see FIG. 1) to which the primary coil antenna (110) is connected, and a second terminal (C2, see FIG. 1) connected to the secondary coil antenna (120).

[0086] Here, the tuning capacitor unit (150) may be configured as an MLCC type chip capacitor or a pattern capacitor configured as an array of upper conductive patterns and lower conductive patterns.

[0087] The light-emitting unit (130) may include a plurality of LED chips (131 to 134), a light-emitting pattern (135a, 135b) that conducts electricity to the LED chips (131 to 134), and a pad pattern (136a, 136b, 136c, 136d) on which the LED chips are mounted.

[0088] The light-emitting pattern (135a, 135b) may be configured with one or more loop coil patterns on the inner side of the primary coil antenna (110) and the secondary coil antenna (120). Here, the loop coil pattern is formed as a separate loop pattern without a connection point with the primary coil antenna (110) and the secondary coil antenna (120), and may obtain power by having its own coil antenna (see FIG. 1).

[0089] Here, the light emitting unit (130) may further include LED chips (131 to 134) and a light diffusion means (not shown) that surrounds or diffuses light in a dam shape erected around the LED chips (131 to 134) themselves so as to diffuse the light emitted from the LED chips (131 to 134).

[0090] LED chips (131 to 134) are mounted on a plurality of pad patterns (136a to 136d) formed on light-emitting patterns (135a, 135b). Then, when current is generated by the secondary coil antenna (120), the LED chips (131 to 134) emit light as the generated current is input through the light-emitting patterns (135a, 135b). At this time, the output light can be diffused by a light diffusion means (not shown) and output to the outside through the transmission hole (220).

[0091] Here, the LED chips (131 to 134) can be positioned directly below the penetration holes (220). That is, the position and number of penetration holes (220) are the same as the number and positions of the LED chips (131 to 134).

[0092] Accordingly, when a user approaches his / her card to the reader chip (500), the LED chips (131 to 134) emit light due to the current generated from the secondary coil antenna (120). At this time, as the light is transmitted through the multiple penetration holes (220) spaced apart from each other in the metal body (200), the LED chips (131 to 134) perceive the light in the form of point light.

[0093] In addition, the present invention may include an embodiment in which the light-emitting pattern and the patterns of the coil antenna are connected in a non-contact manner with the light-emitting pattern described above and the patterns of the antenna form a contact point.

[0094] This is explained with reference to FIGS. 13 and 14.

[0095] Fig. 13 is a circuit diagram of another embodiment including a metal card and a reader, and Fig. 14 is a plan view illustrating another embodiment of an antenna member.

[0096] Referring to FIGS. 13 and 14, the light emitting pattern (136c) is connected to the terminal points of the primary coil antenna (110) and the secondary coil antenna (120) and extends in one direction. Here, the light emitting pattern may include a plurality of pad patterns (136e) on which LED chips are mounted.

[0097] Accordingly, the light emitting pattern (136)c) can supply power generated from the primary coil antenna (110) and the secondary coil antenna (120) to the LED chips (131 to 134) installed in the pad pattern (136e).

[0098] The present invention includes the above-described configuration, and below, a method for manufacturing a contactless metal card equipped with a light-emitting element according to the present invention is described.

[0099] Figures 15 to 23 are drawings illustrating each step of a method for manufacturing a contactless metal card equipped with a light-emitting element according to the present invention.

[0100] Referring to FIGS. 15 to 23, one embodiment of the present invention may include a step (a) of processing a metal body (200), a step (b) of processing a shielding sheet (300), a step (c) of assembling the shielding sheet (300) to a substrate including a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120), and a light-emitting unit (130), a step (d) of assembling the antenna member (100) to which the shielding sheet (300) is assembled and the metal body (200), a step (e) of molding a penetration hole (220) and a receiving opening (210) of the metal body (200), a step (f) of printing on the upper and lower surfaces of the metal body (200), a step (g) of pocket milling, and a step (h) of inserting a chip.

[0101] Referring to Fig. 15, the processing step (a) of the metal body (200) is a step of processing the metal body (200) to form a receiving opening (210), a penetration hole (220), and a milling portion (230). The receiving opening (210) is processed to a size that can accommodate a card chip (400), and the penetration hole (220) is formed at the same location as the LED chip.

[0102] In addition, the milling section (230) is processed to form a bezel (not indicated by a drawing symbol) on the outside so as to face inward on one side of the opposite surface of the metal body (200) to accommodate the antenna member (100).

[0103] The metal body (200) may be configured in a form in which multiple metal bodies (200) are formed within a single sheet. Accordingly, multiple metal bodies (200) can be processed simultaneously and automatically. Since sheets for mass processing of such metal bodies (200) are generally known techniques, their description will be omitted.

[0104] Referring to Fig. 16, the shielding sheet processing step (b) is a step of processing the openings and holes so that they match the number, position, and width of the receiving openings (210) and penetration holes (220) of the metal body (200).

[0105] Referring to FIG. 17, the assembly step (c) of the antenna member (100) is a step in which a shielding sheet (300) is assembled to the antenna member (100).

[0106] The antenna member (100) is formed by patterning and mounting a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120), and a tuning capacitor unit (150) on a flexible substrate (140). In addition, a light-emitting pattern (135a, 135b) is formed on the substrate (140), and a plurality of LED chips (131 to 134) are mounted on the light-emitting pattern (135). At this time, a light diffusion means (not shown) may be installed on the light-emitting pattern unit (143) centered on each LED chip (131 to 134).

[0107] For example, the light diffusion means (not shown) may form a dam centered on the LED chips (131-134), or as another embodiment, may be a plastic liquid resin (e.g., a light-transmitting epoxy) that is applied and cured on top of the LED chips (131-134) to diffuse light.

[0108] The shielding sheet (300) is laminated on a substrate on which a plurality of LED chips (131 to 134) are mounted, and the LED chips (131 to 134) are exposed to the outside through holes processed in the shielding sheet (300).

[0109] Referring to FIG. 18, the assembly step (d) of the antenna member (100) and the metal body (200) is a step of assembling the antenna member (100) in which a shielding sheet (300) is laminated on a milling portion (230) facing inward on the lower surface of the metal body (200).

[0110] Referring to Fig. 19, the molding step (e) is a step of molding by injecting a molding material (610), such as epoxy, into the receiving opening (210) and the penetration hole (220). Here, a resin layer is formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the metal body (200) after molding, so that the upper and lower surfaces of the metal body (200) can perform insulation and protection functions.

[0111] Referring to Fig. 20, the step (f) of bonding the printing sheets (621, 622) is a step of bonding the printing sheets to the upper and lower surfaces of the assembly on which the resin layer is formed after molding. Here, the printing sheets (621, 622) may be bonded through a laminating process. In addition, the printing sheets (621, 622) may be laminated with a magnetic stripe tape or an overlay film.

[0112] Alternatively, a printing sheet may be adhered to the upper surface of the metal body, and a DP printing process may be further included in the printing sheet adhered to the upper surface of the metal body.

[0113] Referring to Fig. 21, the pocket milling step (g) is a step of processing a groove (611) in a molding material (610). The worker processes the molding material (610) to form a groove (611) on the upper end of the molding material (610) and processes it into a shape into which a card chip (400) can be assembled.

[0114] Referring to FIGS. 22 and 23, the chip insertion step (h) is a step of assembling a card chip (400) on the upper surface. Here, the card chip (400) is installed in the groove (611) of the molding material (610) in the reverse direction in a form in which a semiconductor chip is mounted on the upper surface of the chip substrate. At this time, the molding material (610) and the card chip (400) are bonded by an adhesive means such as hot melt or adhesive film.

[0115] Additionally, the present invention may include other embodiments, which are described with reference to FIG. 24.

[0116] Figures 24 to 30 are drawings illustrating other embodiments of the present invention.

[0117] Referring to FIGS. 24 to 30, another embodiment of the present invention may include a step (a) of processing a metal body (200), a step (b) of assembling an antenna member to a substrate including a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120), and a light-emitting portion (130), a step (c) of assembling a metal body (200) to the antenna member, a step (d) of molding a penetration hole (220) and a receiving opening (210) of the metal body (200), a step (e) of printing on the upper and lower surfaces of the metal body (200), a step (f) of pocket milling, and a step (g) of inserting a chip.

[0118] The processing step (a) of the metal body (200) is a step of processing the metal body (200) to form a receiving opening (210), a penetration hole (220), and a milling portion (230). [0129] Alternatively, a printing sheet (621, 622) may be adhered to the upper surface of the metal body (200), and a DP printing process may be further included in the printing sheet (621, 622) adhered to the upper surface of the metal body (200).

[0130] The pocket milling step (f) is a step of processing a groove (611) into a molding material (610). The worker processes the molding material (610) to form a groove (611) on the upper end of the molding material (610) and processes it into a shape into which a card chip (400) can be assembled.

[0131] The chip insertion step (g) is a step of assembling a card chip (400) on the upper surface. Here, the card chip (400) is installed in the groove (611) of the molding material (610) in the reverse direction in a form in which a semiconductor chip is mounted on the upper surface of the chip substrate. [0133] That is, the present invention enables the production of a metal card using a material that is harmless to the human body through the above process, and can provide an aesthetic feel when using the card by outputting light in a point-emitting manner to the metal body (200).

[0134] The present invention also includes another embodiment. Another embodiment of the present invention is described below.

[0135] FIG. 31 is a circuit diagram including a metal card and a reader in another embodiment of the present invention.

[0136] Referring to FIG. 31, a metal card according to another embodiment of the present invention may include a metal body (200) made of a metal material, an antenna member (100) in which a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120), and a light-emitting unit (130) are installed, and a card chip (400).

[0137] The primary coil antenna (110) can communicate with the card chip (400), and the secondary coil antenna (120) can communicate with the reader chip (500). The primary coil antenna (110) and the secondary coil antenna (120) are installed in the antenna member in a loop shape.

[0142] To this end, the metal body (200) may include a receiving opening (210) in which a card chip (400) is received, a transmission opening (250) opened to allow light emitted from a light-emitting portion (130, see FIG. 16) to pass through, a milling portion (230) processed to receive an antenna member (100), and a slit portion (240) extending in one direction from one side of the milling portion (230).

[0143] The receiving opening (210) is opened on one side to receive a card chip (400), wherein the receiving opening (210) can be formed within an area where a milling portion (230) is milled on the opposite side.

[0144] The slit portion (240) is cut so as to extend from the receiving opening (210) to the outside of the metal body (200). This slit portion (240) is intended to produce a power supply effect when a current is induced in the antenna.

[0145] The transmission opening (250) is cut along a predetermined character or shape at a location spaced apart from the receiving opening (210) to form a space cut to transmit light emitted from the light emitting unit (130) assembled and installed from the lower side. Here, the transmission opening (250) can be filled with a light-transmitting plastic resin for the purpose of diffusing light or protecting the LED (131).

[0146] The milling portion (230) is processed into an inwardly facing groove on the opposite side of the metal body (200) to form a space in which an antenna portion is accommodated. More specifically, the milling portion (230) may include an antenna receiving groove (231) that is inwardly facing on one side to accommodate an antenna pattern, a light emitting receiving groove (233) that is inwardly facing on the opposite side to accommodate a light emitting portion (130), and an extension groove (232) that extends inwardly between the antenna receiving groove (231) and the light emitting receiving groove (233).

[0147] The antenna receiving groove (231) is directed inward from the opposite side of the metal body (200). At this time, the antenna receiving groove (231) can be formed over an area including the above-described receiving opening (210).

[0148] The light-emitting receiving groove (233) can be formed as an area including the above-described transmission opening (250) as an inwardly facing groove at a position spaced apart from the antenna receiving groove (231).

[0149] Here, the antenna receiving groove (231) and the light emitting receiving groove (233) may be formed at positions spaced apart from each other as shown in the drawing, or may be installed at adjacent positions. That is, the positions or mutual distances between the antenna receiving groove (231) and the light emitting receiving groove (233) are not limited and may be modified in various embodiments.

[0150] The extension groove (232) is an inward groove extending between the antenna receiving groove (231) and the light emitting receiving groove (233), and an antenna member (100) described later is received therein.

[0151] Another embodiment of the antenna member (100) is described with reference to FIG. 35.

[0152] Fig. 35 is a plan view showing an antenna member of another embodiment, and Fig. 36 is a side view (b).

[0153] Referring to FIGS. 35 and 36, the antenna member (100) may further include an antenna substrate (140) (140) having a pattern formed to support the primary coil antenna (110), the secondary coil antenna (120), and the light emitting portion (130) so that they can conduct current, and a tuning capacitor portion (150).

[0154] The antenna substrate (140) may include an antenna pattern portion (141) having an area that can be accommodated in the antenna receiving groove (231), a light emitting pattern portion (143) in which a light emitting portion (130) is installed, and an extension pattern portion (142) extending between the antenna pattern portion (141) and the light emitting pattern portion (143). Here, it is preferable that the antenna pattern portion (141), the light emitting pattern portion (143), and the extension pattern portion (142) are formed as an integral body.

[0155] In addition, the antenna pattern section (141), the light-emitting pattern section (143), and the extension pattern section (142) included a circuit pattern capable of inputting and outputting electrical signals.

[0156] The primary coil antenna (110) is mounted in a loop shape in the antenna pattern section (141), and the starting point is connected to the starting point of the secondary coil antenna (120) via the tuning capacitor section (150), and the ending point is electrically connected to the starting point of the secondary coil antenna (120).

[0157] The secondary coil antenna (120) is installed in a loop shape on the outside of the primary coil antenna (110) (e.g., the outer edge of the antenna substrate (140)).

[0158] The tuning capacitor unit (150) compensates for the capacitance of the primary coil and may include a first terminal (C1) to which the primary coil antenna (110) is connected and a second terminal (C2) connected to the secondary coil antenna (120).

[0159] Here, the tuning capacitor unit (150) may be configured as an MLCC type chip capacitor or a pattern capacitor configured as an array of upper conductive patterns and lower conductive patterns.

[0160] The light emitting pattern section (143) is equipped with a plurality of LED chips (131), and an extended pattern is formed from the extension pattern section (142) so that an electrical signal is transmitted to the LED chips (131).

[0161] Here, the light emitting unit (130) may be equipped with a light diffusion means (136) that surrounds the LED chip (131) itself or diffuses the light in the shape of an upright dam around the LED chip (131) so as to diffuse the light emitted from the LED chip (131).

[0162] When current is generated through the secondary coil antenna (120), the LED chip (131) outputs light when power is supplied. At this time, the output light is diffused by the light diffusion means (136) and can be output to the outside through the transmission opening (250).

[0163] Accordingly, when a user approaches his / her card to the reader, the LED chip (131) lights up due to the current generated when the secondary coil antenna (120) communicates with the reader, thereby allowing the user to check whether communication is taking place between the reader and the card chip (400).

[0164] In addition, during a series of user actions, light is output from the metal card through the LED chip (131), which may provide an aesthetic sense to the viewer.

[0176] Referring to Fig. 41, the step (e) of bonding the printing sheet (330) is a step of bonding the printing sheet (330) to the upper and lower surfaces of the metal body (200) on which the resin layer (320) is formed after molding. Here, the printing sheet (330) may be bonded through a laminating process. Additionally, a magnetic stripe tape or film may be laminated together with the printing sheet (330).

[0203] Referring to (a) and (b) of FIG. 16, the antenna member (100) may further include an antenna substrate (140) (140) having a pattern formed to support the primary coil antenna (110), the secondary coil antenna (120), and the light emitting portion (130) so that they can conduct current, and a tuning capacitor portion (150).

[0204] The antenna substrate (140) may include an antenna pattern portion (141) having an area that can be accommodated in the antenna receiving groove (231), a light emitting pattern portion (143) in which a light emitting portion (130) is installed, and an extension pattern portion (142) extending between the antenna pattern portion (141) and the light emitting pattern portion (143). Here, it is preferable that the antenna pattern portion (141), the light emitting pattern portion (143), and the extension pattern portion (142) are formed as an integral body.

[0205] In addition, the antenna pattern section (141), the light-emitting pattern section (143), and the extension pattern section (142) included a circuit pattern capable of inputting and outputting electrical signals.

[0206] The primary coil antenna (110) is mounted in a loop shape in the antenna pattern section (141), and the starting point is connected to the starting point of the secondary coil antenna (120) via the tuning capacitor section (150), and the ending point is electrically connected to the starting point of the secondary coil antenna (120).

[0207] The secondary coil antenna (120) is installed in a loop shape on the outside of the primary coil antenna (110) (e.g., the outer edge of the antenna substrate (140)).

[0208] The tuning capacitor unit (150) compensates for the capacitance of the primary coil and may include a first terminal (C1) to which the primary coil antenna (110) is connected and a second terminal (C2) connected to the secondary coil antenna (120).

[0209] Here, the tuning capacitor unit (150) may be configured as an MLCC type chip capacitor or a pattern capacitor configured as an array of upper conductive patterns and lower conductive patterns.

[0210] The light emitting pattern section (143) is equipped with a plurality of LED chips (131), and an extended pattern is formed from the extension pattern section (142) so that an electrical signal is transmitted to the LED chips (131).

[0211] Here, the light emitting unit (130) may be equipped with a light diffusion means (136) that surrounds the LED chip (131) itself or diffuses the light in the shape of an upright dam around the LED chip (131) so as to diffuse the light emitted from the LED chip (131).

[0212] When current is generated through the secondary coil antenna (120), the LED chip (131) outputs light when power is supplied. At this time, the output light is diffused by the light diffusion means (136) and can be output to the outside through the transmission opening (250).

[0213] Accordingly, when a user approaches his / her card to the reader, the LED chip (131) lights up due to the current generated when the secondary coil antenna (120) communicates with the reader, thereby allowing the user to check whether communication is taking place between the reader and the card chip (400).

[0214] In addition, during a series of user actions, light is output from the metal card through the LED chip (131), which may provide an aesthetic sense to the viewer.

[0215] The present invention includes the above-described configuration, and below, a method for manufacturing a contactless metal card equipped with a light-emitting means according to the present invention is described.

[0216] Figure 17 is a drawing showing each step of a method for manufacturing a contactless metal card equipped with a light-emitting means according to the present invention.

[0217] Referring to FIG. 17, one embodiment of the present invention may include a step (a) of processing a metal body (200), a step (b) of manufacturing an antenna member (100) including a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120), and a light-emitting portion (130), a step (c) of assembling the antenna member (100) to the metal body (200), a step (d) of molding an opening of the metal body (200), a step (e) of adhering a printing sheet (330), a step (f) of punching, a step (g) of C-Cut, a step (h) of printing on an upper surface of the metal body (200), a step (i) of pocket milling, and a step (j) of inserting a chip.

[0218] The processing step (a) of the metal body (200) is a step of processing the metal body (200) to form a receiving opening (210), a transmission opening (250), a slit portion (240), and a milling portion (230). The slit portion (240) is cut from one side of the metal body (200) and extends to the receiving opening (210).

[0219] In addition, the milling section (230) is processed to form an antenna receiving groove (231) that faces inwardly on one side of the opposite surface of the metal body (200) to receive an antenna pattern, an inwardly directed light receiving groove (233) to receive a light emitting section (1130) on the opposite side, and an inwardly extended extension groove (232) between the antenna receiving groove (231) and the light emitting receiving groove (233).

[0220] Here, the metal body (200) may be configured in a shape in which multiple metal bodies (200) are formed within a single sheet. Accordingly, multiple metal bodies (200) can be processed simultaneously and automatically. Since sheets for mass processing of such metal bodies (200) are generally known techniques, their description is omitted.

[0221] In the manufacturing step (b) of the antenna member (100), a primary coil antenna (110), a secondary coil antenna (120), and a tuning capacitor unit (150) are mounted on an antenna pattern portion (141) of an antenna substrate (140) having a circuit pattern patterned on a flexible material. In addition, a plurality of LED chips (131) are mounted on a light-emitting pattern portion (143) of the antenna substrate (140). At this time, a light diffusion means (136) may be installed centered on each LED chip (131) in the light-emitting pattern portion (143).

[0222] Here, the light diffusion means (136) may be made of a light-diffusing material to form a dam centered on the LED chip (131), or as another embodiment, may be a plastic liquid resin (e.g., light-transmitting epoxy) that is applied and cured on top of the LED chip (131) to diffuse light.

[0223] In addition, the antenna substrate (140) is a flexible PCB made of a soft material, and multiple antenna substrates can be grouped and aligned within one sheet.

[0224] The antenna member (100) assembly step (c) is, for example, a step of assembling it to a milling part (230) facing inward on the lower surface of the metal body (200) based on the drawing. Here, the antenna pattern part (141) on which the primary coil antenna (110), the secondary coil antenna (120), and the tuning capacitor part (150) are mounted is assembled to the antenna receiving groove (231) of the milling part (230), and the extension pattern part (142) is assembled to match the extension groove (232), and the light emitting pattern part (143) is assembled to match the light emitting receiving groove (233).

[0225] The molding step (d) is a step of molding by injecting a molding material (310), such as epoxy, into the receiving opening (210) and the penetration opening (250). Here, a resin layer (320) is formed on the upper and lower surfaces of the metal body (200) after molding, thereby performing insulation and protection functions on the upper and lower surfaces of the metal body (200).

[0226] The step (e) of bonding the printing sheet (330) is a step of bonding the printing sheet (330) to the upper and lower surfaces of the metal body (200) on which the resin layer (320) is formed after molding. Here, the printing sheet (330) may be bonded through a laminating process. Additionally, a magnetic stripe tape or film may be laminated together with the printing sheet (330).

[0227] The punching step (f) is a step of punching and separating multiple metal bodies (200) implemented within one sheet.

[0228] The C-Cut step (g) is a step of C-Cut processing the cut surfaces of multiple metal bodies (200) separated from a single sheet after punching. Since C-Cut processing is a generally known technology, its description is omitted.

[0229] The printing step (h) is a step of printing (e.g., DP printing) on the resin layer (320) on the metal side.

[0230] The pocket milling step (i) is a step of processing a groove (311) in a molding material (310). The worker processes the molding material (310) and the upper resin layer (320) to form a groove (311) on the upper side of the molding material (310) and processes it into a shape into which a card chip (400) is assembled.

[0231] The chip insertion step (j) is a step of assembling a card chip (400) onto the upper surface of the molding material (310). Here, the card chip (400) is installed in the groove (311) of the molding material (310) in the reverse direction in a form in which a semiconductor chip is mounted on the upper surface of the chip substrate. At this time, the molding material (310) and the card chip (400) are bonded by an adhesive means such as hot melt or adhesive film.

[0232] Through the above process, the manufacturing of a metal card according to one embodiment of the present invention is completed. Furthermore, the metal card according to the present invention may include other embodiments depending on its thickness.

[0233] That is, the present invention enables the production of a metal card using a material harmless to the human body through the above process, and by providing a light-emitting means in the metal body (200), it can provide an aesthetic feel when using the card.
