[0009] Hereinafter, embodiments of an information processing system, an information processing method, and a recording medium will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0010] First Embodiment A first information processing system will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. FIG.
[0011] (Hardware Configuration) First, the hardware configuration of the first information processing system will be described with reference to Fig. 1. Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing the hardware configuration of the first information processing system.
[0012] 1, a first information processing system 10 includes a processor 11, a RAM (Random Access Memory) 12, a ROM (Read Only Memory) 13, and a storage device 14. The information processing system 10 may further include an input device 15 and an output device 16. The processor 11, RAM 12, ROM 13, storage device 14, input device 15, and output device 16 are connected to each other via a data bus 17. The data bus 17 may be an interface other than a data bus (for example, a LAN, a USB, etc.).
[0013] The processor 11 loads a computer program. For example, the processor 11 is configured to load a computer program stored in at least one of the RAM 12, the ROM 13, and the storage device 14. Alternatively, the processor 11 may load a computer program stored in a computer-readable storage medium using a storage medium reading device (not shown). The processor 11 may acquire (i.e., load) the computer program from a device (not shown) located outside the information processing system 10 via a network interface. The processor 11 controls the RAM 12, the storage device 14, the input device 15, and the output device 16 by executing the loaded computer program. In particular, in this embodiment, when the processor 11 executes the loaded computer program, a functional block for displaying code information indicating information about the target image is realized within the processor 11. In other words, the processor 11 may function as a controller that executes each control in the information processing system 10.
[0014] The processor 11 may be configured as, for example, a central processing unit (CPU), a graphics processing unit (GPU), a field-programmable gate array (FPGA), a digital signal processor (DSP), an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), or a quantum processor. The processor 11 may be configured as one of these, or may be configured to use multiple processors in parallel.
[0015] The RAM 12 temporarily stores computer programs executed by the processor 11. The RAM 12 temporarily stores data that the processor 11 temporarily uses while it is executing the computer programs. The RAM 12 may be, for example, a dynamic random access memory (D-RAM) or a static random access memory (SRAM). Alternatively, other types of volatile memory may be used instead of the RAM 12.
[0016] The ROM 13 stores computer programs executed by the processor 11. The ROM 13 may also store fixed data. The ROM 13 may be, for example, a programmable read-only memory (PROM) or an erasable read-only memory (EPROM). Alternatively, other types of non-volatile memory may be used instead of the ROM 13.
[0017] The storage device 14 stores data that is to be saved long-term by the information processing system 10. The storage device 14 may operate as a temporary storage device for the processor 11. The storage device may store computer programs executed by the processor 11. The storage device 14 may include, for example, at least one of a hard disk device, a magneto-optical disk device, an SSD (Solid State Drive), and a disk array device.
[0018] The input device 15 is a device that receives input instructions from a user of the information processing system 10. The input device 15 may include, for example, at least one of a keyboard, a mouse, and a touch panel. The input device 15 may be configured as a mobile terminal such as a smartphone or a tablet. The input device 15 may be, for example, a device that includes a microphone and is capable of voice input. The input device 15 may be, for example, a device that is used only for maintenance. In such a case, the input device 15 may be omitted as appropriate from the components used when operating the information processing system 10.
[0019] The output device 16 is a device that outputs information related to the information processing system 10 to the outside. For example, the output device 16 may be a display device (e.g., a display) that can display information related to the information processing system 10. The output device 16 may also be a speaker or the like that can output information related to the information processing system 10 as audio. The output device 16 may be configured as a mobile terminal such as a smartphone or a tablet.
[0020] 1 illustrates an example of an information processing system 10 including multiple devices, but the information processing system 10 may be configured as a single device (i.e., an information processing device) having all or some of the functions of these devices. Such an information processing device may be configured, for example, to include only the processor 11, RAM 12, and ROM 13 described above, with the other components (i.e., the storage device 14, input device 15, output device 16, etc.) being provided in, for example, an external device connected to the information processing device. Furthermore, some of the computing functions of the information processing device may be realized by an external device (e.g., an external server, a cloud, etc.).
[0021] (Functional Configuration) Next, the functional configuration of the first information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a block diagram showing the functional configuration of the first information processing system.
[0022] 2, the first information processing system 10 is configured to include, as components for realizing its functions, an image acquisition unit 110, an authentication unit 120, and a display unit 130. Each of the image acquisition unit 110, the authentication unit 120, and the display unit 130 may be, for example, a processing block in the above-mentioned processor 11 (see FIG. 1). The display unit 130 may include a display for actually displaying information. This display may be, for example, included in the above-mentioned output device 16 (see FIG. 1).
[0023] The image acquisition unit 110 is configured to acquire a target image including a target. The target here may include not only humans but also animals such as dogs and cats. The target image may be an image including the entire target or an image including a portion of the target. For example, the target image may be an eye image including the target's eyes or a face image including the target's face. Alternatively, the target image may be a fingerprint image including the target's fingerprint, a vein image including the target's veins, or an image including each part of the target's body. The image acquisition unit 110 may be configured to acquire the target image directly from a camera that captured the target image. Alternatively, the image acquisition unit 110 may be configured to acquire the target image from a storage device that stores the target image captured by the camera. The target image acquired by the image acquisition unit 110 is configured to be output to the authentication unit 120.
[0024] The authentication unit 120 is configured to perform authentication processing of a target based on the target image acquired by the image acquisition unit 110. The authentication unit 120 may perform the authentication processing on various terminal devices (i.e., on the edge side). Alternatively, the authentication unit 120 may perform the authentication processing in a cloud that collects data from various terminal devices. The authentication processing may be biometric authentication using the target's biometric information contained in the target image. For example, the authentication unit 120 may perform iris authentication using an image of the target's eyes, or face authentication using an image of the target's face. Alternatively, the authentication unit 120 may perform fingerprint authentication using a fingerprint image of the target, vein authentication using an image of the target's vein, or biometric authentication using an image including other biometric features of the target. The authentication unit 120 may perform authentication processing by comparing the target image acquired by the image acquisition unit 110 with a registered image that has been registered in advance. In this case, the authentication unit 120 may use a registered image stored in the authentication unit 120 itself, or may read and use a registered image stored externally. The authentication unit 120 may have a function of extracting features from the target image. In this case, the authentication unit 120 may execute authentication processing of the target using the features extracted from the target image. The result of the authentication processing in the authentication unit 120 is configured to be output to the display unit 130.
[0025] The display unit 130 is configured to display code information indicating information about the target image when the authentication process by the authentication unit 120 is successful. The information about the target image may be the target image itself or information obtainable from the target image. The information about the target image may be information usable for authenticating the target. For example, the information about the target image may be biometric features of the target extracted from the target image (e.g., iris features, facial features, etc.). The code information may be coded information about the target itself or coded information for accessing information about the target image. The type of code information is not particularly limited, and the display unit 130 may be configured to display, for example, a two-dimensional code. The display unit 130 may have a function to generate code information from information about the target. Alternatively, the display unit 130 may be configured to transmit information about the target to an external device and display code information generated by the external device.
[0026] The display unit 130 is configured to display code information within a range that can be seen by the target. The range that can be seen by the target may not only be within a range that can be seen by the target, but also within a range where the code information can be read even if the target is not visible. For example, the display unit 130 may display code information in a position where the target can read it using a reading device (e.g., a smartphone with a camera). More specifically, the display unit 130 may display code information within reach of the target even if the target is not directly visible. Furthermore, in addition to the code information, the display unit 130 may display a message such as "Please read the displayed code information." Such a message may be output as audio to the target, for example.
[0027] (Flow of Operation) Next, the flow of operation of the first information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Fig. 3. Fig. 3 is a flowchart showing the flow of operation in the first information processing system.
[0028] 3, when the operation of the first information processing system 10 starts, the image acquisition unit 110 first acquires a target image (step S101). The image acquisition unit 110 outputs the acquired target image to the authentication unit 120.
[0029] Next, the authentication unit 120 executes the target authentication process based on the image acquired by the image acquisition unit 110 (step S102). Note that if the target authentication process is not successful (step S103: NO), the subsequent processes may be omitted.
[0030] On the other hand, if the authentication process for the target is successful (step S103: YES), the display unit 130 generates code information indicating information about the target image (step S104), and then displays the code information within a range where the target can confirm it (step S105).
[0031] After the display unit 130 displays the code information, the subject performs an action to read the code information, for example. The action of reading the code information will be described in detail in another embodiment described later.
[0032] (Technical Effects) Next, technical effects obtained by the first information processing system 10 will be described.
[0033] As described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3 , in the first information processing system 10, when authentication processing using a target image is successful, code information indicating information about the target image is displayed. In this manner, it is possible to appropriately output information about the target image using the code information. For example, if the target reads the code information using a terminal capable of reading code information, information about the target image can be output to the terminal held by the target. This makes it possible to store information about high-quality target images acquired by dedicated equipment in the terminal held by the target, and to perform various processes (e.g., biometric authentication) using information about high-quality target images.
[0034] Second Embodiment A second information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Figures 4 to 7. The second information processing system 10 differs from the first information processing system 10 described above only in part of its configuration and operation, and other parts may be similar to the first information processing system 10. Therefore, the following will describe in detail the parts that differ from the first embodiment, and will omit a description of other overlapping parts as appropriate.
[0035] (Functional Configuration) First, the functional configuration of the second information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Fig. 4. Fig. 4 is a block diagram showing the functional configuration of the second information processing system. Note that in Fig. 4, the same elements as those shown in Fig. 2 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0036] 4, the second information processing system 10 is configured to include, as components for realizing its functions, an image acquisition unit 110, an authentication unit 120, a display unit 130, and a mobile terminal 200. That is, the second information processing system 10 further includes the mobile terminal 200 in addition to the configuration of the first information processing system 10 (see FIG. 2).
[0037] The mobile terminal 200 is a terminal owned by the subject. The mobile terminal 200 may be, for example, a smartphone or tablet owned by the subject. The mobile terminal 200 is configured to include a code reading unit 210, a registration unit 220, and a second authentication unit 230 as components for realizing its functions.
[0038] The code reading unit 210 is configured to be able to read the code information displayed by the display unit 130. The code reading unit 210 reads the code information using, for example, a camera or scanner provided in the mobile terminal 200. The code information of the target can be read, for example, by holding the mobile terminal 200 over a display on which the code information is displayed. The code reading unit 210 is also configured to be able to acquire information about the target image based on the read code information. The information about the target image acquired by the code reading unit 210 is configured to be output to the registration unit 220.
[0039] The registration unit 220 is configured to be able to register information relating to the target image acquired from the code information. For example, the registration unit 220 stores the information relating to the target image in a storage unit or the like provided in the mobile terminal 200. The information relating to the target image registered by the registration unit 220 (hereinafter referred to as "registered image") is used as the registered image to be matched with the target image in the authentication process.
[0040] The second authentication unit 230 is configured to be able to perform target authentication processing using a registered image registered by the registration unit 220. The authentication processing performed by the second authentication unit 230 may be the same as or different from the authentication processing performed by the authentication unit 120. For example, iris authentication may be performed by both the authentication unit 120 and the second authentication unit 230, or the authentication unit 120 may perform face authentication and the second authentication unit 230 may perform iris authentication. After registering the registered image, the second authentication unit 230 performs target authentication processing using a newly acquired target image. For example, the second authentication unit 230 performs 1:1 authentication processing by comparing the newly acquired target image with the registered image registered by the registration unit 220. Note that the target image used by the second authentication unit 230 may be an image acquired by the mobile terminal 200. For example, the second authentication unit 230 may perform target authentication processing using a target image captured by a camera provided in the mobile terminal 200.
[0041] (Specific Example of Mobile Terminal) Next, a specific example of the above-mentioned mobile terminal 200 will be described with reference to Fig. 5. Fig. 5 is a plan view showing the configuration of a smartphone, which is an example of a mobile terminal in the second information processing system.
[0042] As shown in FIG. 5 , the mobile terminal 200 in the second information processing system 10 may be a smartphone 30. The smartphone 30 includes a camera 31. The image reading unit 210 may use the camera 31 to read code information. The smartphone 30 also includes a display 32. The display 32 may be configured to display, for example, a target image indicated by the code information read by the image reading unit 210 (in other words, a registered image registered by the registration unit 220). Alternatively, the display 32 may be configured to display a target image acquired by the second authentication unit 230 (i.e., a target image acquired during authentication processing). Alternatively, the display 32 may display an authentication result by the second authentication unit 230. The authentication app 33 is an app installed on the smartphone. The authentication app 33 may have functions corresponding to the code reading unit 210, the registration unit 220, and the second authentication unit 230 described above.
[0043] (Registration Operation) Next, the flow of the registration operation in the second information processing system 10 (i.e., the operation when registering image information in the mobile terminal 200) will be described with reference to Fig. 6. Fig. 6 is a flowchart showing the flow of the registration operation in the second information processing system. Note that in Fig. 6, the same processes as those shown in Fig. 3 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0044] 6, when the registration operation by the second information processing system 10 is started, the image acquisition unit 110 first acquires a target image (step S101). The image acquisition unit 110 outputs the acquired target image to the authentication unit 120.
[0045] Next, the authentication unit 120 executes the target authentication process based on the image acquired by the image acquisition unit 110 (step S102). Note that if the target authentication process is not successful (step S103: NO), the subsequent processes may be omitted.
[0046] On the other hand, if the authentication process for the target is successful (step S103: YES), the display unit 130 generates code information indicating information about the target image (step S104), and then displays the code information within a range where the target can confirm it (step S105).
[0047] Next, the code reading unit 210 in the mobile terminal 200 reads the code information displayed by the display unit 130 and acquires information about the target image (step S201). Then, the registration unit 220 registers the information about the target image acquired by the code reading unit 210 (step S202).
[0048] (Authentication Operation) Next, the flow of the authentication operation in the second information processing system 10 (i.e., the operation when the authentication process is executed in the mobile terminal 200) will be described with reference to Fig. 7. Fig. 7 is a flowchart showing the flow of the authentication operation in the second information processing system.
[0049] 7, when the authentication operation by the second information processing system 10 is started, the second authentication unit 230 first acquires a target image (step S251). Then, the second authentication unit 230 reads out a registered image registered by the registration unit 220 (step S252). That is, the second authentication unit 230 reads out the registered image to be compared with the target image.
[0050] Next, the second authentication unit 230 performs authentication processing by comparing the target image with the registered image (step S253), and outputs the result of the target authentication processing (step S254).
[0051] The second authentication unit 230 may be configured to execute various processes when the authentication process is successful. For example, the second authentication unit 230 may execute a process to unlock the mobile terminal 200 when the authentication process is successful.
[0052] (Technical Effects) Next, technical effects obtained by the second information processing system 10 will be described.
[0053] 4 to 7, in the second information processing system 10, information about the target image is registered in the mobile terminal 200 and is used in subsequent authentication processing. In this way, information about the target image acquired in advance can be stored in the mobile terminal 200 (in other words, a device different from the acquisition source). In this case, it is possible to execute authentication processing using the registered image in the mobile terminal 200.
[0054] <Third Embodiment> A third information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Figures 8 to 10. The third information processing system 10 differs only in part of the configuration and operation from the first and second information processing systems 10 described above, and other parts may be similar to the first and second information processing systems 10. Therefore, the following will describe in detail the parts that differ from the embodiments already described, and will omit explanations of other overlapping parts as appropriate.
[0055] (Functional Configuration) First, the functional configuration of the third information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Fig. 8. Fig. 8 is a block diagram showing the functional configuration of the third information processing system. Note that in Fig. 8, the same elements as those shown in Fig. 4 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0056] 8, the third information processing system 10 is configured to include, as components for realizing its functions, an image acquisition unit 110, an authentication unit 120, a display unit 130, and a mobile terminal 200. In particular, the mobile terminal 200 in the third information processing system 10 includes an identification information acquisition unit 240.
[0057] The identification information acquisition unit 240 is configured to be able to acquire information related to the target identification (hereinafter referred to as "identification information"). The identification information may include, for example, the target's name, date of birth, address, permanent domicile, gender, nationality, etc. The type of identification is not particularly limited, and may be, for example, a passport, My Number card, driver's license, or insurance card. The identification information acquisition unit 240 may acquire the identification information from, for example, an image of the identification. Alternatively, the identification information acquisition unit 240 may acquire the identification information from an IC chip or the like mounted on the identification. The identification information acquired by the identification information acquisition unit 240 is configured to be output to the registration unit 220. The registration unit 10 in the third information processing system 10 is configured to register the target identification information in association with information related to the target image.
[0058] The identification information is read and used as appropriate when the authentication process in the second authentication unit 230 is successful. Specifically, when the authentication process is successful, the second authentication unit 230 executes a predetermined process using the identification information. The predetermined process is, for example, a process that requires identity verification using an identification card. Specific examples of the predetermined process include processes that require high security, such as payment processing and cashing processing.
[0059] (Registration Operation) Next, the flow of the registration operation in the third information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Fig. 9. Fig. 9 is a flowchart showing the flow of the registration operation in the third information processing system. Note that in Fig. 9, the same processes as those shown in Fig. 6 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0060] 9 , when the registration operation by the third information processing system 10 is started, the image acquisition unit 110 first acquires a target image (step S101). The image acquisition unit 110 outputs the acquired target image to the authentication unit 120.
[0061] Next, the authentication unit 120 executes the target authentication process based on the image acquired by the image acquisition unit 110 (step S102). Note that if the target authentication process is not successful (step S103: NO), the subsequent processes may be omitted.
[0062] On the other hand, if the authentication process for the target is successful (step S103: YES), the display unit 130 generates code information indicating information about the target image (step S104), and then displays the code information within a range where the target can confirm it (step S105).
[0063] Next, the code reading unit 210 in the mobile terminal 200 reads the code information displayed by the display unit 130 and acquires information about the target image (step S201). The identification information acquisition unit 240 then acquires the target identification information (step S301). However, the identification information acquisition unit 240 may acquire the identification information at an earlier timing. For example, the identification information acquisition unit 240 may acquire the identification information before acquiring the target image.
[0064] Thereafter, the registration unit 220 links the information about the target image acquired by the code reading unit 210 and the identification card information acquired by the identification card information acquisition unit 240 and registers them (step S302). The registration unit 220 may link and register multiple pieces of identification card information (for example, information about different types of identification cards) to information about one target image.
[0065] (Authentication Operation) Next, the flow of authentication operation in the third information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Fig. 10. Fig. 10 is a flowchart showing the flow of authentication operation in the third information processing system. Note that in Fig. 10, the same processes as those shown in Fig. 7 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0066] 10 , when the authentication operation by the third information processing system 10 starts, the second authentication unit 230 first acquires a target image (step S251). Then, the second authentication unit 230 reads out a registered image registered by the registration unit 220 (step S252). That is, the second authentication unit 230 reads out the registered image to be compared with the target image.
[0067] Next, the second authentication unit 230 performs authentication processing by comparing the target image with the registered image (step S253). If the target authentication processing is successful (step S351: YES), the second authentication unit 230 reads the identification card information and performs a predetermined processing using the identification card information (step S352). Note that if the target authentication processing is not successful (step S351: NO), the predetermined processing is omitted.
[0068] (Technical Effects) Next, technical effects obtained by the third information processing system 10 will be described.
[0069] As described with reference to FIGS. 8 to 10 , in the third information processing system 10, identification information is registered in association with a registration image. Then, if the authentication process is successful, a process using the identification card is executed. In this way, a process requiring identification card can be executed appropriately without compromising security. For example, by performing authentication process using a target image, it is guaranteed that the target is the person corresponding to the identification card. Therefore, even if the target does not carry an identification card, a process requiring identification card can be executed.
[0070] <Fourth Embodiment> A fourth information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Figures 11 and 12. Note that the fourth information processing system 10 differs only in part of the configuration and operation from the first to third information processing systems 10 described above, and other parts may be similar to the first to third information processing systems 10. Therefore, hereinafter, only the parts that differ from the embodiments already described will be described in detail, and explanations of other overlapping parts will be omitted as appropriate.
[0071] (Functional Configuration) First, the functional configuration of the fourth information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Fig. 11. Fig. 11 is a block diagram showing the functional configuration of the fourth information processing system. Note that in Fig. 11, the same elements as those shown in Fig. 8 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0072] 11 , the fourth information processing system 10 is configured to include, as components for realizing its functions, an image acquisition unit 110, an authentication unit 120, a display unit 130, and a mobile terminal 200. In particular, the display unit 130 in the third information processing system 10 includes a registration update determination unit 131. Furthermore, the registration unit 220 in the third information processing system includes a registration information update unit 221.
[0073] The registration update determination unit 131 is configured to calculate a registration update score. The "registration update score" here is a score indicating the registration compatibility of the target image. More specifically, the registration update score is a score indicating how well the target image matches the registered image. For example, the registration update score may be calculated as a higher value when the true person score (i.e., a score indicating the degree of match with the true person) in the authentication process is high and the other person score (i.e., a score indicating the degree of match with the other person) is low. In this case, the registration update determination unit 131 may calculate the registration update score from the true person score and the other person score calculated by the authentication unit 120. Alternatively, the registration update score may be calculated as a higher value the higher the quality of the image. In this case, the registration update determination unit 131 may calculate the registration update score using an engine or the like that determines the quality of the image.
[0074] The registration update determination unit 131 determines whether the registered image should be updated by determining whether the registration update score calculated for the target image is higher than a predetermined threshold. Specifically, the registration update determination unit 131 determines that the registered image should be updated if the registration update score of the target image is higher than the predetermined threshold, and determines that the registered image should not be updated if the registration update score of the target image is lower than the predetermined threshold. The predetermined threshold is a threshold for determining whether the registration update score is higher than a predetermined standard. The predetermined threshold may be a value set according to an already registered registered image. For example, the predetermined threshold may be the same value as the registration update score of an already registered registered image. In this case, if the registration update score of the target image is higher than the registration update score of an already registered registered image (i.e., if the target image is more suitable as a registered image than the already registered registered image), it is determined that the registered image should be updated. If the registration update score of the target image is higher than the predetermined threshold, the display unit 130 displays code information indicating information about the target image.
[0075] The registration information update unit 221 is configured to be able to update registered images that have already been registered by the registration unit 220. Specifically, the registration information update unit 221 updates the registered images that have already been registered with information about a target image that has been determined to have a registration update score higher than a predetermined threshold. In this case, the registered images that have already been registered in the past are deleted. However, the registered images that have already been registered in the past may be left as they are rather than deleted.
[0076] (Update Operation) Next, the flow of the update operation in the fourth information processing system 10 (i.e., the operation when updating a registered image by the registered information update unit 221) will be described with reference to Fig. 12. Fig. 12 is a flowchart showing the flow of the update operation in the fourth information processing system. Note that in Fig. 12, the same processes as those shown in Fig. 6 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0077] 11 , when the update operation by the fourth information processing system 10 is started, the image acquisition unit 110 first acquires a target image (step S101). The image acquisition unit 110 outputs the acquired target image to the authentication unit 120.
[0078] Next, the authentication unit 120 executes the target authentication process based on the image acquired by the image acquisition unit 110 (step S102). Note that if the target authentication process is not successful (step S103: NO), the subsequent processes may be omitted.
[0079] On the other hand, if the target authentication process is successful (step S103: YES), the registration update score determination unit 131 calculates the registration update score of the target image and determines whether the calculated registration update score is higher than a predetermined threshold (step S401). Note that if the registration update score is not higher than the predetermined threshold (step S401: NO), the subsequent processes may be omitted.
[0080] If the registration update score is higher than the predetermined threshold (step S401: YES), the display unit 130 generates code information indicating information about the target image (step S104), and then displays the code information within a range where the target can see it (step S105).
[0081] Next, the code reading unit 210 in the mobile terminal 200 reads the code information displayed by the display unit 130 and acquires information about the target image (step S201). Then, the registration unit 220 updates the already registered registered image with the newly acquired information about the target image (step S402).
[0082] (Technical Effects) Next, technical effects obtained by the fourth information processing system 10 will be described.
[0083] 11 and 12, in the fourth information processing system 10, if the registration update score is higher than a predetermined threshold, an already registered image is updated. In this way, the registered image registered in the mobile terminal 200 can be updated to a more appropriate image. This makes it possible to further improve the accuracy of the authentication process by the second authentication unit 230.
[0084] Fifth Embodiment A fifth information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Figures 13 to 16. The fifth information processing system 10 differs only in part of the configuration and operation from the first to fourth information processing systems 10 described above, and other parts may be similar to the first to fourth information processing systems 10. Therefore, the following will describe in detail the parts that differ from the embodiments already described, and will omit explanations of other overlapping parts as appropriate.
[0085] (Gate Apparatus) First, a gate apparatus to which the fifth information processing system 10 is applied will be described with reference to Fig. 13. Fig. 12 is a side view showing the configuration of the gate apparatus in the fifth information processing system.
[0086] 13, the fifth information processing system 10 is applied to a gate device 50 that determines whether an object is permitted to pass through. The gate device 50 is configured to allow the passage of an object for which authentication processing has been successful, and to prohibit the passage of an object for which authentication processing has failed. For example, the gate device 50 executes processing to open the gate if the authentication processing has been successful. On the other hand, the gate processing 50 executes processing to close the gate if the authentication processing has failed.
[0087] When determining whether the target described above is permitted to pass through, the gate device 50 also executes processing to display code information indicating information related to the target image. Specifically, the gate device 50 captures an image of the approaching target using the camera 60 to acquire the target image. If the authentication processing using the target image is successful, the gate device 50 permits the target to pass through the gate and displays code information indicating information related to the target image on the display 70. The target holds their smartphone over the display 70 before or when passing through the gate device 50. This causes information related to the target image to be registered in the target's smartphone.
[0088] The display 70 may be configured to display the code information so that it cannot be seen from outside the area where the target can pass (for example, outside the gate device 50). In other words, the display 70 may be configured so that a person other than the target cannot see the code information of the target. For this purpose, the display 70 may be intentionally configured to have a narrow viewing angle. The display 70 may be disposed at a position and angle such that the target passing through the gate device 50 is within the viewing angle.
[0089] The display may also display the code information when a specific condition is met. The following describes a more specific operation when displaying the code information.
[0090] (First Display Operation) The flow of the first display operation in the fifth information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Fig. 14. Fig. 14 is a flowchart showing the flow of operations in the fifth information processing system. Note that in Fig. 14, the same processes as those shown in Fig. 3 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0091] 14 , when the first display operation by the fifth information processing system 10 is started, the image acquisition unit 110 first acquires a target image (step S101). The image acquisition unit 110 outputs the acquired target image to the authentication unit 120.
[0092] Next, the authentication unit 120 executes the target authentication process based on the image acquired by the image acquisition unit 110 (step S102). Note that if the target authentication process is not successful (step S103: NO), the subsequent processes may be omitted.
[0093] On the other hand, if the target authentication process is successful (step S103: YES), the display unit 130 generates code information indicating information about the target image (step S104). Then, the display unit 130 detects the position of the target (step S501). The display unit 130 may detect the position of the target using, for example, various sensors. Alternatively, the display unit 130 may detect the position of the target using the target image.
[0094] Next, the display unit 130 determines whether or not the target is present within the viewing angle of the display 70 based on the detected position of the target (step S502). Note that if it is determined that the target is not present within the viewing angle of the display 70 (step S502: NO), the process of detecting the position of the target (step S501) may be repeated.
[0095] On the other hand, if it is determined that the target is present within the viewing angle of the display 70 (step S502: YES), the display unit 130 displays the code information toward the target (step S105). In this way, the code information can be displayed at an appropriate timing that allows only the target to see it.
[0096] (Second Display Operation) Next, the second display operation of the fifth information processing system 10 will be described with reference to Fig. 15. Fig. 15 is a flowchart showing the flow of the second display operation in the fifth information processing system. Note that in Fig. 15, the same processes as those shown in Fig. 3 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0097] 15 , when the second display operation by the fifth information processing system 10 is started, the image acquisition unit 110 first acquires a target image (step S101). The image acquisition unit 110 outputs the acquired target image to the authentication unit 120.
[0098] Next, the authentication unit 120 executes the target authentication process based on the image acquired by the image acquisition unit 110 (step S102). Note that if the target authentication process is not successful (step S103: NO), the subsequent processes may be omitted.
[0099] On the other hand, if the authentication process of the target is successful (step S103: YES), the display unit 130 generates code information indicating information about the target image (step S104).Then, the display unit 130 detects the position of the target (step S601).
[0100] Next, the display unit 130 controls the orientation of the display 70 based on the detected position of the target (step S602). For example, the display unit 130 controls the display 70 itself to move using various motors, actuators, etc.
[0101] Thereafter, the display unit 130 displays the code information toward the target (step S105). In this way, the code information can be displayed in the direction of the target so that people other than the target cannot see the code information.
[0102] (Modification of Gate Apparatus) Next, a modification of a gate apparatus to which the fifth information processing system 10 is applied will be described with reference to Fig. 16. Fig. 16 is a side view showing a modification of a gate apparatus in the fifth information processing system.
[0103] 16 , in the gate device 50 according to the modified example, the display 70 is provided in a position close to the floor on the inside of the gate device 50 (i.e., the side where the target passes through). In this way, it becomes difficult to see the display 70 from outside the gate device 50. Therefore, it is possible to display the code information in a way that cannot be seen by people other than the target.
[0104] (Technical Effects) Next, technical effects obtained by the fifth information processing system 10 will be described.
[0105] 13 to 16, in the fifth information processing system 10, the code information is displayed so that only the target person can see it. In this way, it is possible to prevent people other than the target person from secretly viewing the code information. In other words, it is possible to prevent people other than the target person from illegally obtaining information about the target image.

Furthermore, the program itself may be stored on a server, and part or all of the program may be downloadable from the server to a user terminal. The program may be provided to the user in, for example, a SaaS (Software as a Service) format.
