Piping processing method

Abstract

This piping processing method is for butt welding pipe ends of a plurality of pipes. In order to form a groove in a first region of each pipe from the pipe end to a first distance in the axial direction, before welding, pressure is applied outward in the radial direction of the pipe to an inner peripheral surface of each pipe in a second region from the pipe end to a second distance greater than the first distance in the axial direction so as to increase the diameter of the pipe in the second region. After increasing the diameter in the second region, a jig for applying pressure toward the center of the pipe in the radial direction of the pipe is attached to an outer peripheral surface of each pipe in a third region, which is a region obtained by excluding the first region from the second region, and groove processing is performed on the first region of the pipe in a state in which the jig is attached. After performing the groove processing, the pipes having the groove formed in the first region are butted against each other in a state in which the jig is attached, and the pipes that are butted against each other are temporarily fixed together.
