Abstract
Description
Radiation exposure monitoring system using an eye-mounted radiation measuring device
[0001] The present invention relates to a radiation exposure monitoring system using an eye-mounted radiation measurement device, and more particularly, to a radiation exposure monitoring system using an eye-mounted radiation measurement device that can monitor radiation exposure in real time by being worn on the eye of a person in a radiation work environment or a radiation medical environment.
[0002]
[0003] People exposed to radiation work environments (e.g., workers at nuclear power plants) or in radiation medical environments (e.g., patients or medical staff under radiation diagnosis or treatment) may suffer from central nervous system damage, hematopoietic tissue damage, leukemia, osteosarcoma, thyroid cancer, and death if their radiation exposure exceeds a certain limit. Hereinafter, people exposed to radiation work environments or in radiation medical environments are collectively referred to as "subjects."
[0004] Accordingly, dosimeters that can measure radiation exposure of people exposed to radiation environments are being developed.
[0005] Types of dosimeters include thermoluminescence dosimeters (TLDs), which utilize the thermal fluorescence phenomenon that occurs when irradiated crystalline materials are heated; optically stimulated luminescent dosimeters (OSLDs), which utilize the luminescence phenomenon that occurs when irradiated aluminum oxide is irradiated with a laser; and pocket dosimeters (PDs), which utilize the principle of thin-film electroscopes.
[0006] However, thermoluminescent dosimeters and photoluminescent dosimeters evaluate cumulative doses, so they have limitations in measuring radiation exposure in real time, and pocket dosimeters evaluate doses for whole body exposure, so they have limitations in measuring radiation exposure for specific body parts of the subject.
[0007] In addition, in the case of existing dosimeters, lithium-based batteries are generally used as power supplies, but lithium-based batteries contain liquid electrolytes, so they have a risk of explosion, which limits their application to body-worn dosimeters.
[0008] The prior art is technical information that the inventor possessed for the purpose of deriving the present invention or acquired in the process of deriving the present invention, and cannot necessarily be said to be publicly known technology disclosed to the general public prior to the application for the present invention.

[0084]
[0085] FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a radiation exposure monitoring system using an eye-mounted radiation measurement device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a block diagram of a monitoring device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a radiation measurement device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view of the radiation measurement device illustrated in FIG. 3, FIG. 5 is a schematic plan view of the radiation measurement device illustrated in FIG. 3 for explaining the arrangement of the internal configuration, and FIG. 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the radiation measurement device illustrated in FIG. 3.
[0086]
[0087] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 6, a radiation exposure monitoring system using an eye-attached radiation measuring device according to an embodiment of the present invention is configured to include a radiation measuring device (100) and a monitoring device (200).
[0088]
[0089] The above radiation measurement device (100) is configured in a form that can be attached to the eye of the subject, and is configured to measure the radiation exposure amount by being attached to the eye of the subject.
[0090] The above radiation measuring device (100) may include a measuring part (110) and a battery part (120).
[0091] The above measurement part (110) is configured to measure the radiation exposure amount of the subject.
[0092] The above measurement part (110) may include a first sensor unit (111), an amplifier unit (112), a conversion unit (113), a first control unit (114), a first database unit (115), and a first communication unit (116).
[0093] The above first sensor unit (111) is configured to generate moving charges in response to radiation.
[0094] The above first sensor unit (111) may be configured to include perovskite.
[0095] Perovskite is the name given to a newly discovered mineral in the Ural Mountains of Russia in 1839, named after the 19th-century Russian mineralogist Lev Perovsky. The chemical formula of perovskite is CaTiO3, and perovskite is a general term for all substances with the same structure as CaTiO3.
[0096] Perovskite is a compound crystal structure formed by combining metals, organic substances, and halogens (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, etc.), and has high light absorption and excellent charge transfer ability. When exposed to radiation, it reacts to this and generates mobile charges.
[0097] Accordingly, since the first sensor unit (111) is configured to include perovskite, when irradiated with radiation, it reacts to the radiation and generates a moving charge. At this time, it was experimentally confirmed that the moving charge forms a current of nA within the circuit of the measuring part (110).
[0098] The shape of the first sensor unit (111) will be described later.
[0099] The above amplifier (112) is configured to amplify the signal of the moving charge generated in the first sensor unit (111). As described above, the amplifier (112) is configured to amplify the signal so that more accurate measurement can be made of the nA unit current formed in the circuit of the measuring part (110) by the first sensor unit (111), and a plurality of known current (or voltage) amplifiers can be applied.
[0100] The above conversion unit (113) is configured to convert the signal of the moving charge amplified in the above amplifier unit (112) into a digital signal. The above conversion unit (113) may be configured as an ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) type sensor to derive an amplified current (or voltage) information value.
[0101] The first control unit (114) is configured to obtain radiation exposure information based on the digital signal converted by the conversion unit (113). At this time, the radiation exposure information may be a current (or voltage) information value derived from the conversion unit (113). The first control unit (114) may be configured to store the current (or voltage) information value of the conversion unit (113) in the first database unit (115) at predetermined time intervals.
[0102] The above first control unit (114) can be configured to control the operation of the radiation measurement device (100) in conjunction with the monitoring device (200), which will be described later.
[0103] The first database unit (115) is configured to store radiation exposure information obtained from the first control unit (114). If the first communication unit (116) is an NFC communication module, the first database unit (115) may be a storage module built into it.
[0104] The first communication unit (116) includes a first antenna unit (116a) and is configured to transmit radiation exposure information stored in the first database unit (115) to the monitoring device (200) through the first antenna unit (116a).
[0105] The first communication unit (116) may be configured to transmit and receive radiation exposure information with the monitoring device (200) via wireless communication. Such wireless communication may be a Wifi wireless communication method, a Zigbee wireless communication method, a Z-Wave wireless communication method, a Bluetooth wireless communication method, an NFC wireless communication method, or the like.
[0106] At this time, it is more preferable that the first communication unit (116) be configured to transmit and receive radiation exposure information with the monitoring device (200) via NFC wireless communication. The NFC wireless communication method is a non-contact wireless communication method that can exchange data within a short distance of about 10 cm using a frequency of the 13.56 MHz band, and has the advantage of not requiring charging because it operates according to the principle of electromagnetic induction. In addition, when the NFC wireless communication method is applied, the measurer (meaning a person carrying the monitoring device (200) and may also be a subject performing self-measurement) can easily link the two devices by bringing the monitoring device (200) close to the radiation measurement device (100) and tagging it. A more specific example will be described later together with the shape of the first antenna unit (116a).
[0107] Each component of the above radiation measurement device (100) can be electrically connected, and since many technologies for such electrical connections are known, a detailed description thereof will be omitted. The integrated circuitry of the above radiation measurement device (100) will be described later.
[0108]
[0109] The above battery part (120) is configured to supply power to the above measurement part (110).
[0110] The above battery part (120) may include a second sensor part (121) and a charge collection part (122).
[0111] The second sensor unit (121) may be configured to include perovskite. Since the second sensor unit (121) is configured to include perovskite, it has high light absorption, and thus, when irradiated with visible light, it reacts to this and generates mobile charges. At this time, it has been experimentally confirmed that the mobile charges form a current in the mA unit within the battery part (120) circuit, unlike within the measurement part (110) circuit, and that no separate amplification means is required.
[0112] The shape of the second sensor unit (121) will be described later.
[0113] The above charge collection unit (122) is configured to store the moving charge generated in the second sensor unit (121) and supply power to the measurement part (110).
[0114] The charge collection unit (122) may be configured as a supercapacitor. In addition, it is preferable that the charge collection unit (120) be configured in a film form.
[0115] A supercapacitor is a component that focuses on enhancing the performance of a capacitor (condenser), especially its electrical capacity, and is intended for use as a battery.
[0116] The above charge collection unit (122) may be configured to be electrically connected to the first control unit (114) and supply power to the measurement part (110) under the control of the first control unit (114). This control method will be described later.
[0117] The above battery part (120) supplies power to the measurement part (110) in a manner similar to a solar cell.
[0118]
[0119] The above monitoring device (200) is configured to receive measurement information on radiation exposure from the radiation measurement device (100) and display information on the radiation exposure of the subject.
[0120] The monitoring device (200) may be a portable terminal (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) of the measurer or a separate terminal (desktop, monitoring display device, etc.). As described above, the measurer refers to a person who carries the monitoring device (200), and may also be a subject performing self-measurement.
[0121] The above monitoring device (200) may include a second communication unit (210), a second control unit (220), a display unit (230), and a second database unit (240).
[0122] The second communication unit (210) includes a second antenna unit (210a) and is configured to receive radiation exposure information from the radiation measurement device (100) through the second antenna unit (210a).
[0123] The second communication unit (210) may be configured to transmit and receive radiation exposure information with the radiation measurement device (100) via wireless communication. That is, the first communication unit (116) and the second communication unit (210) may be configured to transmit and receive radiation exposure information via wireless communication. Such wireless communication may be a Wifi wireless communication method, a Zigbee wireless communication method, a Z-Wave wireless communication method, a Bluetooth wireless communication method, an NFC wireless communication method, or the like.
[0124] At this time, it is more preferable that the second communication unit (210) be configured to transmit and receive radiation exposure information with the radiation measurement device (100) via NFC wireless communication. That is, it is more preferable that the first communication unit (116) and the second communication unit (210) be configured to transmit and receive radiation exposure information with each other via NFC wireless communication.
[0125] When applying the NFC wireless communication method, the measurer (meaning a person carrying the monitoring device (200) and may also be a subject performing self-measurement) can easily link the two devices by bringing the monitoring device (200) close to the radiation measurement device (100) and tagging the device. A more specific example will be described later.
[0126] The above second communication unit (210) may be a wireless communication module of a user's portable terminal (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) or a separate terminal (desktop, monitoring display device, etc.).
[0127] The second database unit (240) stores matching information on the radiation exposure dose corresponding to the radiation exposure dose information, and is configured to store the radiation exposure dose information received by the second communication unit (210). At this time, the matching information on the radiation exposure dose corresponding to the radiation exposure dose information may be a calculation formula for deriving the radiation exposure dose value considering the dark current noise of the radiation measurement device, or an experimental value obtained through an experiment (i.e., an exposure dose value matching the current (or voltage) information value derived from the conversion unit (113) of the radiation measurement device (100).
[0128] The second database unit (240) may be configured to store information generated by the second control unit (230).
[0129] The above second database unit (240) may be a storage module of a user's portable terminal (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) or a separate terminal (desktop, monitoring display device, etc.).
[0130] The above display unit (230) is configured to display the radiation exposure information of the subject. That is, the display unit (230) is configured to display the radiation exposure value calculated by the second control unit (220) in various forms.
[0131] The above display unit (230) may be a display module of a user's portable terminal (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) or a separate terminal (desktop, monitoring display device, etc.).
[0132] The second control unit (220) is configured to calculate the radiation exposure dose of the subject based on the matching information about the radiation exposure dose stored in the second database unit (240) using the radiation exposure dose information received by the second communication unit (210), and to control the display unit (230) to display the radiation exposure dose information of the subject. In this case, the second control unit (220) may be configured to process and collate the radiation exposure dose information of the subject by subject, date, time, and accumulated amount over a specific period, and to display it on the display unit (230) according to the selection of the measurer.
[0133] The above second control unit (240) can be implemented as an app or software.
[0134] Each component of the above monitoring device (200) can be electrically connected, and many technologies for such electrical connections are known, so a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0135] Meanwhile, a power supply unit for supplying power to the monitoring device (200) may be additionally provided.
[0136]
[0137] Meanwhile, the radiation measurement device (100) may include a base portion (101), a lower installation portion (102), an upper installation portion (103), and a cover portion (104) on the product side.
[0138] Before going into specific description, i) the first sensor unit (111) is configured in an arc shape, ii) the amplifier unit (112), the conversion unit (113), the first control unit (114), the first database unit (115), the first communication unit (116) (excluding the antenna unit (116a)), and the charge collection unit (122) are designed as an integrated circuit and built into a circuit chip (ASIC) (105), iii) the second sensor unit (121) is configured in an arc shape, and iv) the first antenna unit (116a) may be configured in a ring shape. Through this structure, even when the subject wears the radiation measurement device (100), the above configurations do not block the subject's pupil (specifically, the pupil line (a) of FIG. 5), which is advantageous for securing a field of vision.
[0139] More specifically, referring to FIG. 5, when viewed on a plane, it was experimentally confirmed that the first sensor unit (111), the circuit chip (105), and the second sensor unit (121) are sequentially connected to form a ring structure that is almost circular, and that the first antenna unit (116a) is configured in a ring shape that is large enough to surround the first sensor unit (111) and the second sensor unit (121), which is advantageous for compact product design. At this time, since the first antenna unit (116a) is configured in a ring shape, it was also confirmed that there is an advantage in that the monitoring device (200) can be well recognized from any direction when the NFC tag method is applied.
[0140] The above base part (101) is configured in the form of a soft contact lens and is configured to directly contact the eye of the subject. Since the base part (101) is in direct contact with the eye of the subject, it is preferably configured with a hydrophilic material (e.g., polymacon material, hippocampus material, etc.) to improve the feeling of attachment or wearing. In addition, the base part (101) is preferably configured with a transparent material to secure the field of vision of the subject.
[0141] The lower installation part (102) is configured in a dome shape and is laminated on the upper surface of the base part (101). In addition, the upper installation part (103) is configured in a dome shape and is laminated on the upper surface of the lower installation part (102).
[0142] In this case, the first sensor unit (111), the circuit chip (105), the second sensor unit (121), and the first antenna unit (116a) may be laminated in a sandwich form between the lower installation unit (102) and the upper installation unit (103).
[0143] At this time, it is preferable that the lower installation part (102) and the upper installation part (103) are made of a hydrophobic material and are configured to be pressed against each other to seal the first sensor part (111), the circuit chip (105), the second sensor part (121), and the first antenna part (116a). Due to this technical feature, the first sensor part (111), the circuit chip (105), the second sensor part (121), and the first antenna part (116a) are protected from foreign substances or moisture, thereby improving product durability. As the hydrophobic material, TPU, TPE, etc. can be used, but are not limited thereto.
[0144] Meanwhile, the lower installation part (102) and the upper installation part (103) may each be configured in a dome shape with an open upper portion. At this time, it is advantageous for the subject to secure a field of vision if each opening is formed larger than the pupil line (a) of FIG. 5.
[0145] Meanwhile, the upper installation part (103) may be formed with a first mounting groove (103a) on its lower surface, in which the first sensor part (111), the circuit chip (105), and the second sensor part (121) are mounted, and a second mounting groove (103b) in which the first antenna part (116a) is mounted. This structure improves product durability.
[0146] The above cover part (104) is configured in the form of a soft contact lens and is configured to be laminated on the upper surface of the upper installation part (103). The cover part (104) may be configured with any material, either a hydrophilic material or a hydrophobic material, but since there is a possibility of contact with the skin of the subject, it is preferably configured with a hydrophilic material (e.g., polymacon material, seahorse material, etc.) to improve direct attachment or wearing comfort, and it is preferably configured with a transparent material to secure the subject's field of vision.
[0147] Meanwhile, the cover portion (104) may have a third mounting groove (104a) formed on its lower surface, into which the upper mounting portion (103) is mounted. This structure improves product durability.
[0148]
[0149] Hereinafter, the control method of the present invention will be briefly described. It is assumed that the first communication unit (116) and the second communication unit (210) are configured to transmit and receive radiation exposure information through NFC wireless communication.
[0150] A user brings the monitoring device (200) close to the radiation measurement device (100). At this time, the first control unit (114) may be configured to switch on the power supply from the battery part (120) to the measurement part (110) when the NFC tag of the monitoring device (200) is first generated, and to transmit the radiation exposure information stored in the first database unit (115) to the monitoring device (200) when the NFC tag of the monitoring device (200) is secondarily generated. Due to this configuration, when a user primarily approaches the monitoring device (200) to the radiation measurement device (100), the power charged in the battery part (100) is applied to the measurement part (110), and radiation exposure information is obtained by the operation of the measurement part (110). When the user secondarily approaches the monitoring device (200) to the radiation measurement device (100), the radiation exposure information stored in the first database unit (115) is transmitted to the monitoring device (200), and the radiation exposure dose of the subject is derived.
[0151] In this case, the first control unit (114) may be configured to transmit radiation exposure information stored in the first database unit (115) to the monitoring device (200) when the NFC tag of the monitoring device (200) is secondarily generated, and to reset the first database unit (115) at the same time.
[0152] In addition, the first control unit (114) may be configured to switch off the power supply from the battery part (120) to the measurement part (110) when the NFC tag of the monitoring device (200) is secondarily generated.
[0153] More specifically, for the purpose of applying driving power, the first control unit (114) may be configured to switch off the power supply from the battery part (120) to the measurement part (110) after transmitting the radiation exposure information stored in the first database unit (115) to the monitoring device (200) when the NFC tag of the monitoring device (200) is secondarily generated.
[0154] However, if the first database unit (115) is a storage module built into the first communication unit (116) configured as an NFC communication module, the monitoring device (200) can be driven only by the NFC tag without power supply by the battery part (120) for a predetermined period of time.
[0155]
[0156] As described above, the radiation exposure monitoring system using the eye-attached radiation measuring device according to the present invention can monitor the radiation exposure dose according to the radiation exposure of the subject in real time, and by applying a perovskite-based battery part to the radiation measuring device, it can significantly reduce the risk of explosion compared to existing lithium-based batteries while also enabling a smooth supply of power.
[0157]
[0158] As described above, the present invention has been described with reference to the embodiments illustrated in the drawings. However, these are merely exemplary, and it should be understood that various modifications and equivalent alternative embodiments are possible based on common knowledge in the art. Therefore, the true technical protection scope of the present invention is determined by the claims set forth below and based on the specific contents of the invention described above.
