[0146]

[0147] FIG. 8 is a drawing illustrating a locking device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 9 is a drawing illustrating a coupling structure of a lever and a connecting rod according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 10 is an exploded drawing illustrating a portion of a locking device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 11 is a drawing illustrating a housing cover separated from a housing of a locking device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 12 is a drawing illustrating a coupling structure of a connector and a latch according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 13 is a perspective view illustrating a connector and a latch according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 14 is another perspective view illustrating a connector and a latch according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0148] Referring to FIGS. 8 to 14, a configuration of a locking device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure is described.

[0149] The locking device (400) may include a latch (500) that is arranged to be rotatable around a latch rotation axis (R2), a locking means for locking the external door (200), a manual lock release unit that is arranged to manually rotate the latch (500) to unlock the external door (200), and an automatic lock release unit that is arranged to automatically rotate the latch (500) to unlock the external door (200).

[0150] The latch (500) may include a latch body portion (510) forming a latch rotation axis (R2), and a latch hook portion (550) protruding from the latch body portion (510) to be coupled to a fixing portion (140) formed on an inner door (100). The latch body portion (510) may have a cylindrical shape, and the latch hook portion (550) may protrude radially outward from an outer circumferential surface of the latch body portion (510). The latch hook portion (550) may be formed to be bent into a hook shape.

[0151] The latch (500) can rotate between a coupling position (500A, FIG. 16) where the latch hook portion (550) is coupled to the fixed portion (140) and a release position (500B, FIG. 18) where the hook portion (550) is released from the fixed portion (140).

[0152] A locking means for locking the outer door (200) may include a latch elastic member (570). The latch elastic member (570) may include a compression spring. The latch elastic member (570) may elastically bias the latch (500) so that the latch (500) is oriented toward the engaging position. Accordingly, when no external force is applied to the latch (500), the latch (500) rotates to the engaging position by the elastic force of the latch elastic member (570), and the latch hook portion (550) and the fixing portion (140) are engaged, so that the outer door (200) may be locked.

[0153] One end of the latch elastic member (570) may be supported by the housing (410) of the locking device (400), and the other end of the latch elastic member (570) may be supported by the latch (500) (see FIG. 6). The latch (500) may include a door elastic member support (542, FIG. 10) to support the latch elastic member (570).

[0154] The manual unlocking unit may include a lever (800) that is provided to be manually operated by a user. The lever (800) may be provided to be rotatable about a lever rotation axis (R3) at the bottom of the outer door (200).

[0155] The latch (500) can be rotated by the operating force applied to the lever (800). The operating force applied to the lever (800) is transmitted to the latch (500) through one end of the latch (500), thereby allowing the latch (500) to rotate. For example, the operating force applied to the lever (800) can be transmitted to the latch (500) through the lower end (512, FIG. 10) of the latch (500).

[0156] The manual unlocking unit may include a connecting rod (900) provided between the lever (800) and the latch (500) to transmit the operating force applied to the lever (800) to the latch (500). The connecting rod (900) may be provided to be rotatable around a load rotation axis (R4). The load rotation axis (R4) may be formed on the same line as the latch rotation axis (R2). The connecting rod (900) may be coupled to one end of the latch (500). For example, the connecting rod (900) may be coupled to the lower end (512) of the latch (500). The connecting rod (900) may be coupled to the latch (500) to rotate together with the latch (500).

[0157] The connecting rod (900) may include a rod body portion (910) forming a rod rotation axis (R4) and a rod extension portion (920) extending radially from the rod body portion (910).

[0158] The load body portion (910) may include a coupling end portion (911) coupled to a latch (500). The coupling end portion (911) may be inserted into and coupled to a portion of the latch (500). The coupling end portion (911) and the latch (500) may be coupled via a fastening member (SS). To this end, a coupling hole (912) may be formed in the coupling end portion (911), and a coupling hole (541) may be formed in the latch (500).

[0159] The connecting rod (900) may include a connecting pin (930) provided on the rod extension (920) to allow the lever (800) to be coupled. The connecting pin (930) may be formed at an eccentric position from the rod rotation axis (R4).

[0160] The lever (800) may include a lever shaft (810) forming a lever rotation axis (R3), a lever handle portion (820) protruding from the lever shaft (810) so as to be operated by a user, and a pin coupling portion (830) provided to be coupled to a connecting pin (930).

[0161] With this configuration, when a user applies a physical operating force to the lever (800) through the lever handle (820), the lever (800) can rotate around the lever rotation axis (R3), and the operating force can be transmitted to the connecting rod (900) through the pin connecting portion (830) and the connecting pin (930). That is, the rotational motion of the lever (800) around the lever rotation axis (R3) can be converted into the rotational motion of the connecting rod (900) around the rod rotation axis (R4).

[0162] The connecting rod (900) is coupled to the latch (500) so as to rotate together with the latch (500), so that the latch (500) can rotate according to the rotation of the connecting rod (900).

[0163] With this configuration, the latch (500) can be rotated from the engaged position to the released position by the user's operating force, thereby releasing the engagement of the latch (500) and the fixing member (140) and unlocking the outer door (200).

[0164] When the user's operating force applied to the lever (800) disappears, the latch (500) can be rotated to the engaging position by the elastic force of the latch elastic member (570). When the latch (500) is rotated to the engaging position, the rotational motion of the latch (500) can be converted into the rotational motion of the lever (800) through the connecting pin (930) and the pin engaging portion (830).

[0165] The automatic unlocking unit may include a driving source (1000) that generates a driving force based on an unlocking signal input to the input unit (50). The refrigerator (1) may include a control unit that controls the operation of the driving source (1000) based on a signal input to the input unit (50). The input unit (50) receives a user's input and transmits it to the control unit, and the control unit may process the transmitted input to operate the driving source (1000). The refrigerator may include a communication unit for communicating with an external device. The control unit may receive a user's unlocking signal from an external device through the communication unit and control the operation of the driving source (1000).

[0166] The latch (500) can rotate by the driving force generated from the driving source (1000). The driving force generated from the driving source (1000) can be transmitted to the latch (500) through the opposite end of the latch (500). For example, the driving force can be transmitted to the latch (500) through the upper end (511, FIG. 10) of the latch (500).

[0167] The automatic unlocking unit may include a pusher (600) that moves linearly along the latch rotation axis (R2) by means of a driving force, and a connector (700) that moves linearly between a home position (700A, FIG. 15) and a forward position (700B, FIG. 19) according to the linear movement of the pusher (600). As the connector (700) moves from the home position to the forward position, the connector (700) may press the latch (500). The latch (500) may rotate from an engaged position to an unlocked position by the pressurization by the connector (700).

[0168] According to one embodiment, the pusher (600) and the connector (700) may be formed separately. In this case, the automatic unlocking unit may include a connector elastic member (750) that elastically biases the connector (700) to a basic position. The connector elastic member (750) may include a compression spring. One end of the connector elastic member (750) may be supported by the connector (700), and the other end of the connector elastic member (750) may be supported by the housing (410). The connector (700) may be provided with a connector elastic member support portion (740, FIG. 12) that supports the connector elastic member (750), and the housing (410) may be provided with a connector elastic member support portion (440, FIG. 12) that supports the connector elastic member (750).

[0169] The driving source (1000) may be a motor (1010) that generates rotational force. The motor (1010) may be a motor capable of driving in forward and reverse directions. The automatic unlocking unit may include at least one rotary gear (1020) for transmitting the rotational force generated by the motor (1010) to the pusher (600). At least one rotary gear (1020) may be connected to a motor shaft of the motor (1010) and may rotate. At least one rotary gear (1020) may have a two-stage spur gear shape to transmit the rotational force at a reduced speed. For example, at least one rotary gear (1020) may be composed of an upper spur gear and a lower spur gear having a smaller radius than the upper spur gear.

[0170] The pusher (600) may include a rack gear (610) that meshes with at least one rotary gear (1020) to move linearly along the direction of the latch rotation axis (R2). With this configuration, the rotational force of the motor (1010) may be converted into linear motion of the pusher (600). For example, when the motor (1010) is driven in a forward direction, the pusher (600) may move linearly in a direction closer to the latch (500), and when the motor (1010) is driven in a reverse direction, the pusher (600) may move in the opposite direction.

[0171] The pusher (600) may include a pressing portion (620) that pressurizes the connector (700). When the pusher (600) moves in a direction closer to the latch (500), the pusher (600) presses the connector (700), so that the connector (700) can move linearly from the basic position to the forward position. At this time, the connector elastic member (750) may be compressed to accumulate elastic force.

[0172] Conversely, when the pusher (600) moves away from the latch (500), the connector (700) can return from the forward position to the basic position by the elastic force of the connector elastic member (750).

[0173] According to one embodiment, the pusher (600) and the connector (700) may be formed integrally. In this case, since the pusher (600) and the connector (750) can move forward and backward together, the connector elastic member (750) may be omitted.

[0174] As the connector (700) moves from the home position to the forward position, the connector (700) may press the latch (500) so that the latch (500) may rotate from the engaged position to the released position. To this end, the latch (500) may include a sloped surface (520), and the connector (700) may include a connector protrusion (730) that presses the sloped surface (520).

[0175] The inclined surface (520) may be formed on the outer surface (540) of the latch body portion (510). At least one inclined surface (520) may be formed on the outer surface (540) of the latch body portion (510). The inclined surface (520) may be formed to be inclined with respect to the pressing direction of the connector protrusion (730). That is, the inclined surface (520) may be formed to be inclined with respect to the linear movement direction of the connector (700) or the direction of the latch rotation axis (R2).

[0176] The connector (700) may include a rotation guide (710) formed to surround a latch body portion (510) to guide the rotation of the latch (500). A portion of the latch body portion (510) may be accommodated in a guide inner space (720) formed inside the rotation guide (710). A connector protrusion (730) may be formed to protrude from the inner surface of the rotation guide (710). At least one connector protrusion (730) may be formed on the inner surface of the rotation guide (710).

[0177] With this configuration, when a user inputs a release signal to the input unit (50), the drive motor (1010) rotates in the forward direction, the drive source (1000) generates a driving force, and the pusher (600) and the connector (700) can move in a straight line toward the latch (500) by the generated driving force. That is, the connector (700) moves from the basic position to the forward position, and accordingly, the connector protrusion (730) presses the latch slope (520), so that the latch (500) can rotate from the engaged position to the released position. As the latch (500) rotates from the engaged position to the released position, the engagement between the latch (500) and the fixing unit (140) is released, so that the outer door (200) can be unlocked.

[0178] At this time, when the driving motor (1010) of the driving source (1000) rotates in the reverse direction, the pusher (600) and the connector (700) can move in a straight line away from the latch (500). That is, the connector (700) moves from the forward position to the basic position, and accordingly, the pressure of the connector protrusion (730) against the latch slope (520) can disappear. As the pressure of the connector protrusion (730) against the latch slope (520) disappears, the latch (500) can rotate to the engaging position by the elastic force of the latch elastic member (570).

[0179] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the latch (500) may be configured to be rotatable from a mated position to a released position without interfering with the connector (700) when the connector (700) is in a home position. For example, when a user rotates the latch (500) from a mated position to a released position via a manual unlocking unit, the latch (500) may be rotated from the mated position to the released position without interfering with the connector (700).

[0180] To this end, the latch (500) may include an avoidance portion (530, FIGS. 13, 14, 16) formed to be sunken in the outer surface (540) of the latch body (510) so as not to interfere with the connector protrusion (730).

[0181] Specifically, when the latch (500) is rotated from the engaging position to the releasing position by the user's operating force applied to the lever (800) while the connector (700) is in the basic position, an avoidance portion (530) may be formed to be sunken in the outer surface (540) of the latch (500) so that the latch (500) does not interfere with the connector protrusion (730).

[0182] That is, the avoidance portion (530) can be formed so that the avoidance portion (530) is positioned in a predetermined rotational direction from the connector protrusion (730) while the connector (700) is in the basic position (700A) and the latch (500) is in the engaging position (500A). Here, the predetermined rotational direction is the opposite direction to the direction (R) in which the latch (500) rotates from the engaging position to the releasing position (see FIG. 16).

[0183] With this configuration, when a user unlocks the outer door (200) via the manual unlocking unit, the latch (500) does not interfere with the connector (700), so no load is applied to the automatic unlocking unit. Accordingly, the durability of the motor (1010) and the rotating gear (1020) can be improved, and failure can be prevented.

[0184] FIG. 15 is a drawing illustrating a state in which a connector is in a basic position and a latch is in an engaged position according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 16 is a cross-sectional view taken along line III-III of FIG. 15. FIG. 17 is a drawing illustrating a state in which a connector is in a forward position and a latch is in a released position according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 18 is a cross-sectional view taken along line IV-IV of FIG. 15.

[0185] Referring to FIGS. 15 to 18, the operation of the automatic unlocking unit of the locking device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure will be described.

[0186] As illustrated in FIGS. 15 and 16, when the driving source is not in operation, the pusher (600) does not press the connector (700), so the connector (700) can be positioned at the basic position (700A) by the elastic force of the connector elastic member (750). In addition, since the connector (700) is positioned at the basic position (700A), the connector protrusion (730) of the connector (700) does not press the inclined surface (520) of the latch (500), so the latch (500) can be positioned at the engaging position (500A) by the elastic force of the latch elastic member (570). Accordingly, the latch (500) and the fixing member (140) are engaged, and the outer door (200) can be locked.

[0187] Based on the user's release signal being input to the input unit (50), the motor (1010), which is the driving source (1000), rotates in the forward direction, and the rotational power of the motor (1010) can be converted into linear motion of the pusher (600) through the rotation gear (1020).

[0188] As the pusher (600) moves in a straight line, it presses the connector (700) so that the connector (700) can move in the direction (F) toward the latch (500). That is, the connector (700) can move from the basic position (700A) to the forward position (700B) by the driving force of the driving source (1000). As the connector (700) moves from the basic position (700A) to the forward position (700B), the connector protrusion (730) of the connector (700) presses the inclined surface (520) of the latch (500), so that the latch (500) can be rotated from the engaging position (500A) to the releasing position (500B). Accordingly, the engagement of the latch (500) and the fixing member (140) is released, and the outer door (200) can be opened.

[0189] When the external door (200) is unlocked and can be opened, the external door (200) can be automatically opened by the elastic force of the door elastic member (390, FIG. 4).

[0190] FIG. 19 is a drawing illustrating a joint structure of an inner door, an outer door, and a hinge according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 20 is an exploded view of a hinge according to one embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 21 is a drawing illustrating a joint structure of a door elastic member according to one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0191] Referring to FIGS. 19 to 21, a hinge (300) connects an outer door (200) and an inner door (100) and can rotatably support the outer door (200).

[0192] The hinge (300) may include a hinge bracket (310). The hinge bracket (310) may be formed of a metal material having rigidity. The hinge bracket (310) may include a door coupling portion (320) coupled to the inner door (100) and a hinge arm (330) extending from the door coupling portion (320) toward the outer door (200).

[0193] The door coupling part (320) can be coupled to the inner door (100) via a fastening member (S). To this end, a coupling hole (321) into which the fastening member (S) is coupled can be formed in the door coupling part (320). The door coupling part (320) can be coupled to the upper cap (160) by passing through a through hole (151) formed in the front of the inner door (100) and a through hole (161) formed in the upper cap (160) of the inner door (100).

[0194] A hinge pin (340) forming an external door rotation axis (R1) may be provided at one end of the hinge arm (330). The hinge pin (340) may be coupled to a hinge pin coupling portion (331) formed at one end of the hinge arm (330). However, unlike the present embodiment, the hinge pin (340) may be formed integrally with the hinge arm (330).

[0195] The hinge pin (340) can be inserted into the hinge pin insertion hole (274) formed in the upper cap (270) of the outer door (200). The hinge pin insertion hole (274) can be provided in the hinge receiving portion (271) formed to receive the hinge (300) in the upper cap (270) of the outer door (200). The hinge pin insertion hole (274) can be formed on the inner surface of the hinge receiving portion (271). The hinge pin insertion hole (274) can be formed on the inner surface (273) of the lower portion of the hinge receiving portion (271).

[0196] The hinge (300) may include a hinge cover (350) coupled to the hinge bracket (310) to cover the hinge bracket (310). The hinge cover (350) may be formed of a resin material. The hinge cover (350) may cover the hinge bracket (310) so that the hinge bracket (310) is not exposed to the outside. The hinge cover (350) may be coupled to the hinge bracket (310) through a fastening member (S). The fastening member (S) may be coupled to the upper cap (160) by penetrating a fastening hole (362) formed in the hinge cover (350) and a fastening hole (321) formed in the hinge bracket (330).

[0197] The hinge cover (350) may include a hinge cover upper surface (360) and a hinge cover side surface (370). A reed switch (380) for detecting the opening and closing of the external door (200) may be provided on the hinge cover upper surface (360). A switch mounting portion (363) may be formed on the hinge cover upper surface (360) so that the reed switch (380) may be mounted thereon.

[0198] The reed switch (380) can detect the opening and closing of the external door (200) by interacting with a magnet (279, Fig. 22) provided on the external door (200). The magnet (279) can be located on the upper portion of the hinge receiving portion (271) of the external door (200).

[0199] The reed switch (380) may be formed so that when a magnet (279) approaches within a predetermined distance, the two leads are attracted to each other, thereby closing the contact, and when the magnet (279) moves away from the predetermined distance, the two leads are separated by elasticity, thereby opening the contact. Alternatively, conversely, the reed switch (380) may be formed so that when the magnet (279) approaches the reed switch (380), the contact opens, and when the magnet (279) moves away from the reed switch (380), the contact closes.

[0200] One end of a door elastic member (390) can be joined to the upper surface (360) of the hinge cover. A first support hole (365) into which one end of the door elastic member (390) is inserted and joined can be formed in the upper surface (360) of the hinge cover.

[0201] The door elastic member (390) may be provided to elastically bias the outer door (200) in the opening direction. One end of the door elastic member (390) may be coupled to and supported by the hinge (300), and the other end of the door elastic member (390) may be coupled to and supported by the outer door (200).

[0202] The door elastic member (390) may be a torsion spring having a coil portion (391) in which a portion of the door elastic member is wound in a circular shape, a first spring arm (392) extending from one end of the coil portion (391), and a second spring arm (394) extending from the other end of the coil portion (392). The door elastic member (390) may include a first coupling portion (393) extending obliquely from an end of the first spring arm (392), and a second coupling portion (395) extending obliquely from an end of the second spring arm (394).

[0203] The first coupling portion (393) can extend vertically from the end of the first spring arm (392), and the second coupling portion (395) can extend vertically from the end of the second spring arm (394).

[0204] The first coupling portion (393) may extend in a first direction from the end of the first spring arm (392), and the second coupling portion (395) may extend in a second direction opposite to the first direction from the end of the second spring arm (394). The first coupling portion (393) may extend upward from the end of the first spring arm (392), and the second coupling portion (395) may extend downward from the end of the second spring arm (394).

[0205] The first connecting portion (393) can be inserted into and connected to the first support hole (365) formed on the upper surface (360) of the hinge cover described above. The second connecting portion (395) can be inserted into and connected to at least one second support hole (275, FIG. 22) formed on the outer door (200).

[0206] In this way, one end of the door elastic member (390) is supported by being coupled to the hinge (300) and the other end of the door elastic member (390) is coupled to the external door (200), thereby facilitating installation and replacement of the door elastic member (390). In addition, by employing a torsion spring as the door elastic member (390), the opening operation of the external door (200) can be performed smoothly.

[0207] The refrigerator (1) may include an elastic member cover (399) provided to cover the door elastic member (390). The elastic member cover (399) may be coupled to a hinge receiving portion (271) of an outer door (200). The elastic member cover (399) may protect the door elastic member (390) by preventing the door elastic member (390) from being exposed and preventing foreign substances from being attached to the door elastic member (390).

[0208] FIG. 22 is another drawing illustrating a coupling structure of a door elastic member according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 23 is a drawing illustrating a structure for adjusting the elasticity of a door elastic member according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, and is a drawing illustrating a door elastic member in a state where the angle between the first spring arm and the second spring arm is A1. FIG. 24 is a drawing illustrating a structure for adjusting the elasticity of a door elastic member according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, and is a drawing illustrating a door elastic member in a state where the angle between the first spring arm and the second spring arm is A2. FIG. 25 is a drawing illustrating a structure for adjusting the elasticity of a door elastic member according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, and is a drawing illustrating a door elastic member in a state where the angle between the first spring arm and the second spring arm is A3.

[0209] Referring to FIGS. 22 to 25, at least one second support hole (275) may be provided in the hinge receiving portion (271) of the outer door (200). Specifically, at least one second support hole (275) may be formed on the upper inner surface (272) of the hinge receiving portion (271).

[0210] Accordingly, as shown in FIGS. 21 and 22, the first connecting portion (393) bent downwardly of the door elastic member (390) is inserted and connected into the first support hole (365) formed on the upper surface of the hinge cover (350), and the second connecting portion (395) bent upwardly of the door elastic member (390) is inserted and connected into the upper inner surface (272) of the hinge receiving portion (271), so that the door elastic member (390) can be stably connected between the hinge (300) and the outer door (200).

[0211] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a plurality of second support holes (275) may be provided. The reason why a plurality of second support holes (275) are provided in this way is to adjust the elasticity of the door elastic member (390). That is, the elasticity of the door elastic member (390) can be adjusted depending on which of the plurality of second support holes (275) the second connecting portion (395) of the door elastic member (390) is connected to.

[0212] A plurality of second support holes (275) may be provided spaced apart from each other. Depending on which second support hole (275) among the plurality of second support holes (275) the second connecting portion (395) of the door elastic member (390) is connected to, the angle between the first spring arm (392) and the second spring arm (394) changes, and accordingly, the elastic force of the door elastic member (390) can be adjusted.

[0213] For example, as illustrated in FIGS. 23 to 25, the number of second support holes may be three. However, two or more second support holes are sufficient, and there is no limitation on the number of second support holes.

[0214] As illustrated in Fig. 23, when the second connecting portion (395) of the door elastic member (390) is connected to the second support hole (275) closest to the first support hole (365) among the plurality of second support holes (275), the angle between the first spring arm (392) and the second spring arm (394) can be A1.

[0215] As illustrated in Fig. 24, when the second connecting portion (395) of the door elastic member (390) is connected to the middle second support hole (275) among the plurality of second support holes (275), the angle between the first spring arm (392) and the second spring arm (394) may be A2, which is smaller than A1. When the angle between the first spring arm (392) and the second spring arm (394) is A2, the elastic force of the door elastic member (390) may be greater than when the angle between the first spring arm (392) and the second spring arm (394) is A1. In addition, since the elastic force of the door elastic member (390) is greater, the opening force or opening angle of the outer door (200) may be greater.

[0216] As illustrated in FIG. 25, when the second connecting portion (395) of the door elastic member (390) is connected to the second support hole (275) farthest from the first support hole (365) among the plurality of second support holes (275), the angle between the first spring arm (392) and the second spring arm (394) may be A3, which is smaller than A2. When the angle between the first spring arm (392) and the second spring arm (394) is A3, the elastic force of the door elastic member (390) may be greater than when the angle between the first spring arm (392) and the second spring arm (394) is A2. In addition, since the elastic force of the door elastic member (390) is greater, the opening force or opening angle of the outer door (200) may be greater.

[0217] In this way, as the angle between the first spring arm (392) and the second spring arm (394) decreases, the elastic force of the door elastic member (390) increases, and accordingly, the opening force or opening angle of the outer door (200) may increase.

[0218] With the above configuration, the elasticity of the door elastic member (390) can be easily adjusted, and accordingly, the opening force or opening angle of the external door (200) can be easily set as needed. In addition, depending on the position of the second support hole (275), the external door (200) can be configured to open to a maximum opening angle, for example, 135 degrees.

[0219] While the technical concept of the present invention has been described above through specific examples, the scope of the present invention is not limited to these examples. Various embodiments that can be modified or altered by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit of the present invention as defined in the claims are also within the scope of the present invention.
