Description

System and method for providing a platform service for recycling coffee grounds

[0001] The present invention relates to a technology for recycling coffee grounds (coffee dregs), and more specifically, to a system and method for providing a platform service for recycling coffee grounds, which is configured to encourage coffee grounds generators (producers) to participate more actively in coffee grounds recycling business and generate more profits by producing new lifestyle products using coffee grounds through coffee grounds recycling business.

[0002]

[0003] Coffee, a globally popular food, is almost entirely imported. While coffee beans are imported and sold at relatively high prices, 99.8% of the coffee beans produced after brewing produce coffee grounds (also known as coffee dregs). These grounds are classified as household waste and are buried or incinerated.

[0004] In recent years, the global need for environmental protection has never been greater. Efforts to protect the environment can take many forms. For example, reducing industrial and household waste and food waste can be a key component. Food waste can come in many forms, but coffee grounds are a prime example, with a recent and rapidly increasing amount.

[0005] Coffee grounds are a byproduct of coffee production, commonly referred to as 'coffee dregs'. Approximately 15g of coffee beans are used to make one cup of Americano, and of these, 14.97g, or 99.8%, are coffee grounds.

[0006] In particular, as an example of recycling coffee beans, a small amount of coffee grounds is recycled by putting them in an ashtray, or a small amount of coffee grounds is put in a small container and used as a deodorizer or air freshener. It is common for the grounds to be discarded as is after use as a deodorizer or air freshener.

[0007] Discarded coffee grounds are not classified as food waste but are disposed of as general household waste and landfilled. As they decompose, they release large amounts of methane gas, which contributes to global warming 25 times more negatively than carbon dioxide, potentially contributing to environmental pollution. Furthermore, even if coffee grounds are stored in ashtrays or small containers and used as deodorizers or air fresheners, they quickly decompose. If not completely dried, they can become a breeding ground for bacteria and mold, generating odors and negative health effects.

[0008] Discarded coffee waste has a strong coffee-like aroma, so it not only produces a significant odor when mixed with other food waste, but also makes it difficult to clean if coffee waste falls indoors or on the road, as the coffee particles are usually ground to about 0.5 to 2 mm.

[0009] Until now, coffee grounds have been classified as household waste and have been buried underground or incinerated. However, according to a 2014 announcement by the Ministry of Environment, the amount of coffee grounds waste generated in Korea is estimated to be around 103,000 tons (when completely dried), and it is known that processing this costs 50,000 won per ton of coffee grounds, totaling around 5 billion won.

[0010] This large amount of coffee waste not only causes environmental pollution but also increases carbon dioxide emissions. As the coffee industry continues to develop and coffee consumption increases, the amount of coffee waste is also expected to increase.

[0011] To address this, a typical conventional coffee grounds recycling technology simply mixed coffee grounds with ingredients such as cement to make bricks.

[0012] However, this type of conventional technology contains some coffee grounds in the base of the product, so it is difficult to view it as the main recycled raw material as only a small amount of coffee grounds, not the main raw material, are mixed in. The product also has poor water resistance and crumbles, and there is also a problem that mold grows due to the coffee grounds.

[0013]

[0014] The first purpose of the present invention is to provide a platform service system and method for recycling coffee grounds, which are currently disposed of as waste, into organic resources with high recycling value, and to replace plastic products, thereby having an expected effect of preventing environmental pollution.

[0015] The second purpose of the present invention is to provide a platform service provision system and method that can reduce the use of volume-based garbage bags and achieve environmentally friendly effects by reducing carbon dioxide emissions by recycling coffee grounds that are currently being disposed of as waste.

[0016] The third purpose of the present invention is to provide a platform service system and method for recycling coffee grounds, which can encourage coffee grounds producers to participate more actively in coffee grounds recycling projects by accumulating and managing mileage according to the amount of coffee grounds supplied to a coffee grounds exchange office, and by assigning a grade according to the degree of contribution to carbon neutrality environmental protection, thereby allowing coffee grounds producers to confirm their own degree of contribution.

[0017] The fourth object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for providing a platform service for recycling coffee grounds, which is configured to enable manufacturers producing new lifestyle products using coffee grounds to generate more profits through the coffee grounds recycling business.

[0018]

[0026] In addition, the coffee grounds discharger can directly produce the coffee grounds clay by mixing water with the purchased coffee grounds.

[0027] Additionally, the above coffee ground clay can be manufactured using a coffee ground clay making device.

[0028] In addition, the coffee ground clay contains 0.01 to 0.5 g of HPC (Hydroxyrpopyl cellulose), HPC-L, CMC-NA (Carboxymethyl cellulose sodium), progelatinized starch, xanthan gum, povidone, HPMC (Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose), PVP (Poly vinyl pyrrolidone), sodium silicate, potassium silicate, dextrin gum arabic, formaldehyde, vitrified, silicate, shellac, rubber, resinoid, bakelite, rubber, silicate shellac magnesite, PET (polyethylene terephthalate), HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), PP (Polypropylene), PS (Polystyrene), PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) per 1 g of ground coffee grounds having a moisture content of 20% or less. It can be manufactured by adding a binder including acid, LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene), PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), melamine, phenol resin, and agar powder (or starch powder) to form a dough.

[0029] In addition, the coffee ground clay may be subjected to a primary food coating on the coffee ground particles to prevent mold, and a secondary clay / solidification coating may be applied after the primary food coating.

[0030] Meanwhile, a method for providing a platform service for recycling coffee grounds according to the present invention has the technical features of comprising: a first step in which coffee grounds exchange offices installed in each region collect coffee grounds provided by coffee grounds dischargers (coffee grounds producers); a second step in which mileage is accumulated and managed using an application in a discharger terminal of a coffee grounds discharger according to the amount of coffee grounds supplied by the coffee grounds discharger to the coffee grounds exchange office; a third step in which a manufacturer collects coffee grounds from the coffee grounds exchange office; a fourth step in which a management server manages mileage accumulation and collection of coffee grounds from the coffee grounds exchange office through a network using an application in the discharger terminal; a fifth step in which the manufacturer uses the coffee grounds collected to produce coffee grounds powder, coffee grounds clay, and coffee grounds new life products; and a sixth step in which coffee grounds powder, coffee grounds clay, and coffee grounds new life products are supplied to the coffee grounds exchange office so that the coffee grounds discharger can be provided with the coffee grounds powder, coffee grounds clay, and coffee grounds new life products according to the mileage of the coffee grounds discharger.

[0048]

[0049] Hereinafter, a platform service providing system and method for recycling coffee grounds according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings.

[0050] Fig. 1 is a block diagram of a platform service providing system for recycling coffee grounds according to the present invention. Fig. 2 (a) is a photograph of coffee ground powder, and Fig. 2 (b) is a photograph of coffee ground clay. In addition, Figs. 3 (a) to (d) are examples of coffee ground new life products manufactured using coffee ground clay.

[0051] The platform service provision system (1000) for recycling coffee grounds according to the present invention provides a platform where anyone can bring coffee grounds to a nearby coffee exchange office and exchange them for coffee ground powder, coffee ground clay, and coffee ground new life products.

[0052] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, a platform service providing system (1000) for recycling coffee grounds according to the present invention may be configured to include a coffee grounds exchange office (500) installed in each region to receive coffee grounds provided by coffee grounds dischargers (coffee grounds producers); a discharger terminal (100) that operates an application for accumulating and managing mileage according to the amount of coffee grounds supplied by coffee grounds dischargers to the coffee grounds exchange office (500); a manufacturer terminal (300) that manages the manufacturing and supply of coffee grounds powder, coffee grounds clay, and coffee grounds new life products traded at the coffee grounds exchange office (500); and a management server (400) that provides an application to the discharger terminal (300) and the manufacturer terminal (300) through a network (200) and manages a series of coffee grounds recycling transactions of the discharger terminal (100) and the manufacturer terminal (300).

[0053] Looking specifically at the platform service provision system (1000) for recycling coffee grounds according to the present invention, first, a coffee grounds exchange office (500) is installed in each region and is a place to receive coffee grounds provided by coffee grounds dischargers (coffee grounds producers).

[0054] A coffee grounds exchange office (500) refers not only to a place that receives (collects) coffee grounds from coffee grounds generators, but also to a space where collection can be requested through a website. For example, it can be implemented in various ways, such as a general coffee shop (aka cafe), a bakery, a convenience store, a zero-waste store, a wholesale / retail store, an online website, etc.

[0055] Preferably, if the coffee grounds exchange center (500) is a coffee shop, the manufacturer can collect all coffee grounds collected from the coffee grounds generator along with the coffee grounds generated during the production of coffee beans, thereby preventing the disposal of coffee grounds at the source and realizing environmental friendliness.

[0056] The above-mentioned discharger terminal (100) is a terminal for a coffee grounds discharger, and the coffee grounds discharger is not particularly limited. For example, the coffee grounds discharger may be a person who operates a coffee bean coffee shop or a person who consumes coffee beans as a group or individually.

[0057] Here, the type of the emitter terminal (100) is not particularly limited. For example, the type of the emitter terminal (100) may be either a mobile computing device or a fixed computing device.

[0058] A mobile computing device may be, but is not limited to, a smartphone, laptop, phablet, tablet, personal digital assistant (PDA), or e-book reader. A stationary computing device may be, but is not limited to, a desktop, workstation, or server.

[0059] The above-mentioned discharge terminal (100) accumulates mileage based on the amount of coffee grounds supplied by the discharger to a specific location, for example, a coffee grounds exchange office (500), and manages the mileage thus accumulated. To this end, an application may be installed and executed on the discharge terminal (100). Here, the application refers to an application program that allows the user to manipulate a series of coffee grounds recycling transactions in the operating system within the discharge terminal (100), and the user may download and install the application on his or her terminal.

[0060] Furthermore, the service can be provided on the homepage provided by the management server (400) without installing a separate program on the emitter terminal (100).

[0061] The discharge terminal (100) allows the coffee grounds discharger to purchase the desired coffee grounds recycling material using the application using his / her mileage.

[0062] In addition, the application of the above-mentioned discharger terminal includes a program that the above-mentioned coffee grounds discharger downloads and installs on the above-mentioned discharger terminal to operate a series of transactions for recycling coffee grounds.

[0063] In addition, in the case of the application of the present invention, after downloading, an individual directly accumulates mileage and environmental protection contribution through a coffee grounds exchange office (including all registered exchange offices such as offline cafes), and in the case of a website, when a company directly applies for collection through the website (online, www.coffeeclay.com), the coffee grounds exchange office (Coffee Clay website) accepts the collection and sends and provides recycled products, and the application and website serve as a platform that connects both individuals and companies with producers under the concept of a coffee grounds exchange office.

[0064] The coffee grounds recycled materials traded here may include coffee grounds powder as in (a) of Fig. 2, which is produced using coffee grounds as raw material, or coffee grounds clay as in (b) of Fig. 2.

[0065] Figure 3 shows an example of a new lifestyle product made from coffee grounds using coffee ground clay. In Figure 3, (a) is a coffee pencil, (b) is a coffee flowerpot, (c) is a coffee candle, and (d) is a coffee ground brick.

[0066] Figure 4 illustrates a process for manufacturing a container (or article) using coffee ground clay.

[0067] Referring to FIG. 4, the process for manufacturing a container using coffee ground clay according to the present invention includes a molding step (S41); a drying step (S42); and a polishing step (S43).

[0068] In the above molding step (S41), coffee ground clay is placed in a mold and pressed and molded.

[0069] In the above drying step (S42), the compressed coffee grounds molded product is dried. At this time, if the coffee grounds molded product is dried at 5°C or lower, bacteria and mold may proliferate, and if dried at 110°C or higher, cracking of the molded product may occur. Taking this into account, it is preferable to harden the coffee grounds molded product using a dryer controlled to a temperature between 5°C and 110°C.

[0070] In the above polishing step (S43), the hardened coffee ground molded product as described above is polished using an abrasive or a polishing machine.

[0071] The above manufacturer terminal (300) performs the role of managing the manufacturing and supply of coffee grounds recycled materials such as coffee grounds powder or coffee grounds clay, or coffee grounds new life products, traded at the coffee grounds exchange office (500).

[0072] Figure 5 shows a manufacturing process of coffee ground clay according to the present invention.

[0073] Referring to FIG. 5, the process for manufacturing coffee ground clay according to the present invention includes a drying step (S51); an impurity removal step (S52); a grinding step (S53); a first mixing step (S54); and a second mixing step (S55).

[0074] In the above drying step (S51), the collected coffee grounds are dried using a dryer or heat film that adjusts the temperature to 15°C or higher.

[0075] If less than 0.01g of additives are used per 1g of coffee grounds, the molded product may separate due to low viscosity, and if more than 0.5g is used per 1g, a large amount of additives may be mixed, which may cause a problem in which the efficacy of the coffee grounds is lost.

[0076] To prevent this, in the impurity removal step (S52), impurities mixed in the coffee grounds are removed.

[0077] In the above grinding step (S53), the coffee grounds from which impurities have been removed are ground to a size of 0.01 to 1 mm.

[0078] In the first mixing step (S54), 0.01 to 0.5 g of HPC (Hydroxyrpopyl cellulose), HPC-L, CMC-NA (Carboxymethyl cellulose sodium), progelatinized starch, xanthan gum, povidone, HPMC (Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose), PVP (Poly vinyl pyrrolidone), sodium silicate, potassium silicate, dextrin gum arabic, formaldehyde, vitrified, silicate, shellac, rubber, resinoid, bakelite, rubber, silicate shellac magnesite, PET (polyethylene terephthalate), HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), PP (Polypropylene), PS (Polystyrene), Add a binder including PLA (Poly Lactic Acid), LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene), PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), melamine, phenol resin, agar powder, or starch powder and knead.

[0079] In the second mixing step (S55), less than 1 ml of purified water is mixed per 1 g of the mixture produced through the first mixing step to form a dough.

[0080] The management server (400) provides an application to the emitter terminal (100) via the network (200) and manages the emitter terminal (100). Similarly, the management server (400) provides an application to the manufacturer terminal (300) and manages the manufacturer terminal (400).

[0081] The management server (400) is not limited to the term server and may be any one of fixed computing devices such as a desktop, workstation, and server.

[0082] The above-mentioned emitter terminal (100), manufacturer terminal (300), and management server (400) can be connected to each other via a network (200). Here, the network (200) can be an Internet network or a mobile communication network.

[0083] Additionally, the network (200) may include any other widely known or future developed wireless or wired communication method.

[0084] Figure 6 shows the structure of coffee ground clay according to the present invention.

[0085] Referring to FIG. 6, the coffee ground clay according to the present invention is first subjected to a food coating to prevent mold on coffee ground particles, and then subjected to a secondary claying / solidification coating.

[0086] Coffee grounds recyclers can use coffee grounds powder or coffee grounds clay to create their own containers or household items.

[0087] Coffee grounds producers can make their own coffee grounds clay by mixing purchased coffee grounds powder with water.

[0088] Coffee ground clay is composed of 0.01 to 0.5 g of HPC (Hydroxyrpopyl cellulose), HPC-L, CMC-NA (Carboxymethyl cellulose sodium), progelatinized starch, xanthan gum, povidone, HPMC (Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose), PVP (Poly vinyl pyrrolidone), sodium silicate, potassium silicate, dextrin, gum arabic, formaldehyde, vitrified, silicate, shellac, rubber, resinoid, bakelite, rubber, silicate shellac, magnesite, PET (polyethylene terephthalate), HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), PP (Polypropylene), PS (Polystyrene), PLA (Poly Lactic Acid, It is characterized by being kneaded by adding a binder including LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene), PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), melamine, phenol resin, and agar powder (or starch powder).

[0089] In addition, Fig. 7 is a configuration diagram of the coffee grounds powder manufacturing machine of the present invention.

[0090] Referring to FIG. 7, the coffee grounds powder manufacturing machine of the present invention is a coffee grounds powder manufacturing device that manufactures coffee grounds powder from coffee grounds, and may be configured to include a dryer (2100) that dries coffee grounds; a separator (2200) that removes impurities from dried coffee grounds; a mixer (2300) that mixes a binder into the separated coffee grounds; and a packaging machine (2400) that packages the coffee grounds powder.

[0091] Furthermore, Fig. 8 is a drawing illustrating a coffee grounds clay making device of the present invention.

[0092] As illustrated in Fig. 8, the coffee grounds clay can be manufactured using a coffee grounds clay-making device (3000). A coffee grounds discharger can directly manufacture coffee grounds clay by placing coffee grounds into the coffee grounds clay-making device (3000) and mixing in the binder mentioned above. The coffee grounds clay-making device (3000) and binder can be purchased from manufacturers.

[0093] Meanwhile, FIG. 9 is a flowchart explaining a method for providing a platform service for recycling coffee grounds according to the present invention.
