Abstract
Description
Device and method for correcting light intensity
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a device and method for correcting light intensity, and more particularly, to a device and method for correcting light intensity of a 3D printing device.
[0002] 3D printing technology is a manufacturing technology that forms a three-dimensional shape by depositing powdered or liquid materials.
[0003] 3D printing methods include SLA (Stereo Lithography Apparatus), DLP (Digital Light Processing), MJM (Multi Jet Modeling), SLS (Selective Laser Sintering), SLM (Selective Laser Melting), FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling), and FFF (Fused Deposition Modeling). 3D printing technologies can also be categorized by the form of the modeling material, such as liquid, solid, and powder.
[0004] With the development of 3D printing technology, products with shapes previously difficult to produce using conventional manufacturing techniques have become relatively easy to manufacture. Even for products that were easy to manufacture, creating molds for prototypes was a costly burden for business owners. However, 3D printing technology has somewhat alleviated this cost burden.
[0005] Modern 3D printing devices provide simulations of modeling files before printing the product.
[0006] However, current 3D printing devices have a discrepancy between the output values set for light output and the actual intensity of the light exposed. Consequently, users still have to repeatedly print products to ensure they achieve the desired dimensions.
[0007] The present disclosure is conceived in response to the aforementioned background technology and seeks to provide a method for correcting light intensity.
[0008] The technical problems of the present disclosure are not limited to the technical problems mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the description below.
[0009] According to one embodiment of the present disclosure for solving the above-described problem, a method for correcting light intensity performed by a 3D printing device including at least one processor is disclosed. [0010] In addition, the step of acquiring the measurement data may include a step of acquiring, as the measurement data, a same intensity contour generated based on position data on the 3D printing device of each reference area for a measurement light intensity having a reference size and a size of the measurement light intensity corresponding to the reference size.
[0011] In addition, the step of correcting the set signal value according to the measured light intensity may include a step of correcting the set signal value with a second set signal value for which the output of the measured light intensity corresponding to the first set signal value is predicted for each pixel using the measured data.
[0012] In addition, the step of correcting the set signal value for the pixel included in the reference areas according to the measured light intensity using the measurement data may include the step of generating a correction drawing by imaging the measurement data; the step of upscaling the correction drawing to a resolution determined by each of the plurality of pixels; and the step of correcting the set signal value according to the measured light intensity based on the reference pixel unit of the upscaled correction drawing.
[0013] In addition, in a control device of a 3D printer, a control unit including at least one processor, and controlling a plurality of pixels included in a 3D printing device to output light corresponding to at least one of the plurality of setting signal values based on each of the plurality of setting signal values implemented by the at least one processor, and obtaining measurement data including measured light intensities for reference areas in which the plurality of pixels are grouped to a predetermined size in response to each of the plurality of setting signal values; wherein the control unit can correct the setting signal values for pixels included in the reference areas according to the measured light intensities using the measurement data.
[0014] The technical solutions obtainable in the present disclosure are not limited to the solutions mentioned above, and other solutions not mentioned will be clearly understood by a person having ordinary skill in the art to which the present disclosure pertains from the description below.
[0015] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided for correcting a light intensity that can be output from a 3D printing device so that the measured light intensity corresponds to a set signal value set by the 3D printing device.

[0029] Conventional 3D printing devices output light according to a set value. However, in conventional 3D printing devices, the set value and the actual output light intensity may differ from device to device. This may be because there is a difference in performance between the display devices included in the 3D printing devices. For example, it can be assumed that a first 3D printing device and a second 3D printing device are manufactured using the same display device. The first 3D printing device can control light to be output from the first display device using the first set value. The second 3D printing device can also control light to be output from the second display device using the first set value. Since the first set value is the same, the first light intensity output from the first display device and the second light intensity output from the second display device should be the same, but the first light intensity and the second light intensity may be different. This is because, when manufacturing a 3D printing device, there is a problem that the light intensity varies depending on the location due to a misalignment of the optical system assembly or a deviation in the LED light intensity. Accordingly, users must repeatedly print products to output products of the desired dimensions. On the other hand, the 3D printing device according to the present disclosure can correct the set signal value based on the measured light intensity. Here, the set signal value may be a value set by the 3D printing device or the user within a preset modulation value. The set signal value may be understood as a signal for setting the modulation value. The modulation value may be understood as a value representing the magnitude of the light intensity. For example, the modulation value may have a value from 0 to 255. The modulation value may represent the relative magnitude of the light intensity. For another example, the modulation value may have a value from 0 to 1023. In the present specification, the set signal value may be understood as a concept including the modulation value or corresponding to the modulation value. The measured light intensity may be a value obtained by measuring the light intensity that is actually output. The measured light intensity can represent the absolute magnitude of the light intensity. Accordingly, the intended light intensity of the 3D printing device can be output according to the set output value. Hereinafter, a method for correcting the light intensity of the 3D printing device according to the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 6.
[0030] FIG. 1 is a block diagram illustrating an example of a 3D printing device according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0031] Referring to FIG. 1, a 3D printing device (100) may include a control unit (110) and a storage unit (120). Although only elements of a control unit for controlling the operation of the 3D printing device (100) are disclosed in FIG. 1, it will be apparent that mechanical elements for configuring the 3D printing device (100) may also be included in FIG. 1. However, since the present disclosure relates to a simulation method, specific details regarding the mechanical elements are omitted.
[0032] The 3D printing device (100) may be a photocuring device. For example, the 3D printing device (100) may be a device that uses an SLA (Stereo Lithography Apparatus) method, a DLP (Digital Light Processing) method, an MJM (Multi Jet Modeling) method, an SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) method, or an SLM (Selective Laser Melting) method.
[0033] The control unit (110) can typically process the overall operation of the 3D printing device (100). The control unit (110) can process signals, data, information, etc. input or output through components of the 3D printing device (100) or run application programs stored in the storage unit (120), thereby providing or processing appropriate information or functions to the user.
[0034] The control unit (110) may be composed of one or more cores and may include a processor for data analysis, such as a central processing unit (CPU), a general purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU), or a tensor processing unit (TPU). The control unit (110) may include an LCD panel or DLP panel for light irradiation.
[0035] In the present disclosure, the control unit (110) can correct the light intensity output by the 3D printing device (100). The control unit (110) can correct the light intensity output by the 3D printing device (100) by controlling an LCD panel or a DLP panel for light irradiation.
[0036] For example, the set signal value may have a signal value corresponding to each modulation value from 0 to 255. The modulation value may be understood as a value representing the size of the light intensity. The control unit (110) may output light with a modulation value from 0 to 255. It may be assumed that the light intensity when the modulation value of the panel is set to 255 at a fixed light source brightness in the 3D printing device (100) is 200 mW / cm2. In order to implement the set signal value as 170 mW / cm2, the control unit (110) may measure all light intensities according to the modulation values from 0 to 255 and set a modulation value equal to 170 mW / cm2. Accordingly, the control unit (110) may correct the set signal value so that the light intensity corresponding to the modulation value at all positions inside the panel is output. Hereinafter, a specific example of a method for the control unit (110) to correct light intensity is described through FIGS. 2 to 6.
[0037] The storage unit (120) may include memory and / or a permanent storage medium. The memory may include at least one type of storage medium among a flash memory type, a hard disk type, a multimedia card micro type, a card type memory (e.g., SD or XD memory, etc.), a random access memory (RAM), a static random access memory (SRAM), a read-only memory (ROM), an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM), a programmable read-only memory (PROM), a magnetic memory, a magnetic disk, and an optical disk.
[0038] In the present disclosure, the storage unit (120) may store light measurement data. For example, the storage unit (120) may store data on measured light intensity, which is the light intensity output according to a set signal value using a modulation value of 0 to 255.
[0039] Below, a specific example of a method for correcting light intensity by a 3D printing device (100) is described.
[0040] FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating an example of a method for correcting light intensity by a 3D printing device according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0041] Referring to FIG. 2, the control unit (110) of the 3D printing device (100) can output light corresponding to at least one of the plurality of set signal values from each of the plurality of pixels included in the 3D printing device based on each of the plurality of set signal values (S110).
[0042] The plurality of setting signal values may represent values set by the 3D printing device (100) within preset modulation values. For example, the plurality of setting signal values may have modulation values of 0 to 255. As another example, the setting signal values may have modulation values of 0 to 1023. When the control unit (110) determines that the setting signal value is 1, it can be understood that the light intensity that each of the plurality of pixels included in the 3D printing device (100) intends to output is 1. Alternatively, when the control unit (110) determines that the setting signal value is 1, it can also be understood that the magnitude of the modulation value that each of the plurality of pixels included in the 3D printing device (100) intends to output is 1. When the control unit (110) determines that the setting signal value is 100, it can be understood that the light intensity that each of the plurality of pixels intends to output is 100. When the set signal value is determined to be 255 by the control unit (110), it can be understood that the light intensity that each of the plurality of pixels wants to output is 255. The control unit (110) can output at least one light among the plurality of set signal values of 0 to 255.
[0043] The control unit (110) can obtain measurement data including measured light intensities for reference areas in which a plurality of pixels are grouped to a predetermined size in response to each of a plurality of set signal values (S120).
[0044] Specifically, the control unit (110) can group a plurality of pixels into a predetermined size to create a reference area. The control unit (110) can obtain measurement data including measured light intensity obtained from a spectrometer or a light sensor for each reference area. For convenience of explanation, reference may be made to FIG. 3.
[0045] FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example of measurement data according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. The x-axis of FIG. 3 may represent the x-axis position of each of a plurality of pixels. The y-axis of FIG. 3 may represent the y-axis position of each of a plurality of pixels. The z-axis of FIG. 3 may represent a modulation value. The brightness of the measurement data (d1) in FIG. 3 may represent the measured light intensity.
[0046] It can be assumed that through step S110, the control unit (110) outputs light having a modulation value of 255 among a plurality of set signal values. As light having a modulation value of 255 is output, the control unit (110) can obtain measurement data (d1) including the measured light intensity measured in reference areas. The measurement data (d1) can represent the measured light intensity measured in reference areas. The measurement data (d1) can express the light intensity through the brightness of a surface.
[0047] Meanwhile, the control unit (110) controlled the 3D printing device (100) to set all pixel values to a modulation value of 255 and output light. However, when examining the measurement data (d1), it is confirmed that the brightness of the surface on which the measured light intensity is expressed is not constant. This may be because the measured light intensity according to the modulation value differs depending on the location of the pixel for each device.
[0048] For example, the control unit (110) sets the modulation value of all pixels to 255 in order to implement the set signal value of all pixels as 200㎽ / ㎠. Accordingly, the measured light intensity of all pixels should be expressed as 200㎽ / ㎠, but when examining the measurement data (d1), it is confirmed that the brightness of the surface on which the measured light intensity is expressed is not constant. The control unit (110) can obtain measurement data including the measured light intensity of each pixel that is not expressed in a constant manner.
[0049] Meanwhile, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the control unit (110) can obtain a same intensity contour indicating the size of the set signal value as measurement data.
[0050] Specifically, the control unit (110) can obtain, as measurement data, an isolines generated based on the position data on the 3D printing device (100) of each reference area for the size of the modulation value having the reference size and the size of the measured light intensity corresponding to the reference size. For convenience of explanation, reference may be made to FIG. 4.
[0051] FIG. 4 is a diagram for explaining an example of measurement data according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. FIG. 4(a) is a diagram for explaining an example of measured light intensity according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. FIG. 4(b) is a diagram for explaining an example of an isoline according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. The x-axis of FIG. 4(a) and FIG. 4(b) may represent the x-axis position of each of a plurality of pixels. The y-axis of FIG. 4(a) and FIG. 4(b) may represent the y-axis position of each of a plurality of pixels. The z-axis of FIG. 4(a) and FIG. 4(b) may represent the magnitude of a modulation value.
[0052] Referring to (a) of FIG. 4, the control unit (110) can output light corresponding to each of a plurality of set signal values. For example, the control unit (110) can output light corresponding to each of the set signal values from 0 to 255. The control unit (110) can obtain measurement data (d2) including the measured light intensity measured when the set signal value of 255 is output. The control unit (110) can obtain measurement data (d3) including the measured light intensity measured when the set signal value of 245 is output. The control unit (110) can obtain measurement data (d4) including the measured light intensity measured when the set signal value of 235 is output.
[0053] The control unit (110) can determine a reference size. The reference size may be a value that serves as a reference for the control unit (110) to generate an isoline. For example, the control unit (110) may determine 255 as the reference size for determining the isoline. Referring to (b) of FIG. 4, the control unit (110) may have determined the reference size to be 255. The control unit (110) may determine a measurement light intensity having the same size as the reference size from a plurality of measurement data (d2, d3, d4). The control unit (110) may determine position data on the 3D printing device (100) of the reference area for each of the determined measurement light intensities. For example, the control unit (110) may determine a light intensity that appears at a size of 255 in the first measurement data (d2) from among the plurality of measurement data. The control unit (110) may determine position data on the 3D printing device (100) where the light intensity appears. The control unit (110) can determine the light intensity having a size of 255 in the second measurement data (d3) among the plurality of measurement data. The control unit (110) can determine the position data on the 3D printing device (100) where the light intensity appears. The control unit (110) can determine the light intensity having a size of 255 in the third measurement data (d4) among the plurality of measurement data. The control unit (110) can determine the position data on the 3D printing device (100) where the light intensity appears. The control unit (110) can generate an isolines (c1) based on the position data of the measured light intensity having the same size as the reference size and the size of the measured light intensity in the plurality of measurement data (d2, d3, d4). In other words, the control unit (110) can generate the isolines (c1) using the x-axis position, the y-axis position, and the modulation values having the same measured light intensity. The control unit (110) can obtain the generated isoline (c1) as measurement data.
[0054] Referring again to FIG. 2, the control unit (110) can use the measurement data to correct the set signal values for pixels included in the reference areas according to the measured light intensity (S130).
[0055] Specifically, the control unit (110) can correct the setting value of the 3D model for the object to a second setting signal value in which the output of the measured light intensity corresponding to the first setting signal value for each pixel is predicted using the measurement data.
[0056] For example, referring to Table 1 below, the control unit (110) can determine a modulation value for controlling the light intensity of the 3D printing device (100). The control unit (110) can determine to output a measured light intensity of 50 mW / cm2 from each of the plurality of pixels.
[0057] Modulation value Measurement value on 3D printing device 255 (first set signal value) 65㎽ / ㎠ (measured light intensity)? (second set signal value) 50㎽ / ㎠ (corresponding to the size of the first set signal value)
[0058] However, when the control unit (110) determines the first setting signal value as a modulation value of 255, the light intensity output by the 3D printing device (100) corresponding to the first setting signal value may be measured as 65 mW / cm2. However, the measured light intensity of 65 mW / cm2 may not be the light intensity expected when the control unit (110) outputs light with a modulation value of 255. Therefore, the control unit (110) may determine the second setting signal value using the measurement data so that the measurement value on the 3D printing device appears as 50 mW / cm2. For example, the control unit (110) may determine the second setting signal value as a modulation value of 200. In other words, the control unit (110) can determine a second setting signal value that corrects the first setting signal value so that a measurement value on the 3D printing device corresponding to the size of the first setting signal value appears. According to one embodiment, step S130 is an operation for outputting a 3D model or simulating the output of a 3D model, and steps S110 and S120 may be preprocessing operations for obtaining measurement data. According to the above-described configuration, the 3D printing device (100) can obtain measurement data based on a plurality of setting signal values and the measurement light intensity. Then, the 3D printing device (100) can correct the setting signal value with the measurement light intensity based on the measurement data. Conventional devices output light of different intensities at the same modulation value due to optical characteristics and manufacturing characteristics. Setting signal value. Accordingly, in the conventional device, the setting signal value and the output light intensity were different. On the other hand, the 3D printing device (100) according to the present disclosure can compensate for light intensity at all locations based on light intensity measurement data according to location and modulation value. Accordingly, the product manufactured through the 3D printing device (100) has excellent completion, and the process variable previously output as a relative value, that is, a modulation value, can be converted into a physical value of light intensity, so that the process variable can be obtained identically even if the equipment is not the same.
[0059] Meanwhile, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the 3D printing device (100) can obtain measurement light intensities for a plurality of pixels. However, when obtaining all measurement light intensities for each of the plurality of pixels, the resources required by the 3D printing device (100) may be considerable. Accordingly, the 3D printing device (100) can group the plurality of pixels into a predetermined size. The 3D printing device (100) can obtain measurement light intensities for the grouped reference areas. In addition, the 3D printing device (100) can perform upscaling on the measurement data measured for the reference areas to correct the set signal value on a pixel-by-pixel basis. Here, upscaling may be a technology for increasing the resolution by inserting a new pixel between pixels of a drawing or a photograph. Hereinafter, an example of a method for correcting a set signal value according to a measured light intensity through upscaling by a 3D printing device (100) according to the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIG. 5.
[0060] FIG. 5 is a flowchart illustrating an example of a method for a 3D printing device according to some embodiments of the present disclosure to correct a set signal value according to a measured light intensity through upscaling.
[0061] Referring to FIG. 5, the control unit (110) of the 3D printing device (100) can generate a correction drawing by imaging measurement data to correspond to a 3D model (S131).
[0062] Specifically, the control unit (110) can obtain a 3D modeling file stored in the storage unit (120). The control unit (110) can image the measurement data so as to correspond to the 3D model included in the 3D modeling file. By image-izing the measurement data, the control unit (110) can generate a correction drawing.
[0063] According to one embodiment, the control unit (110) can generate a correction drawing by imaging an isoline included in the measurement data.
[0064] The control unit (110) can upscale the correction drawing to a resolution determined by each of the plurality of pixels (S132).
[0065] Specifically, the measurement data can be generated from reference areas in which a plurality of pixels are grouped into a predetermined size. Accordingly, a correction drawing that images the measurement data can be determined based on the reference area. The correction drawing generated in this manner may have a lower resolution than that determined by the plurality of pixels. Accordingly, the control unit (110) can upscale the correction drawing to a resolution determined by each of the plurality of pixels. For convenience of explanation, reference may be made to FIG. 6.
[0066] FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating an example of a 3D printing device performing upscaling according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. FIG. 6 (a) is a diagram illustrating an example of a correction drawing in which upscaling has not been performed. FIG. 6 (b) is a diagram illustrating an example of a correction drawing in which upscaling has been performed.
[0067] Referring to (a) of FIG. 6, the control unit (110) can image the measurement data to correspond to the 3D model included in the 3D modeling file. The control unit (110) can generate a correction drawing by imaging the measurement data. According to an embodiment, the control unit (110) can generate the correction drawing by imaging the isolines included in the measurement data. Referring to (b) of FIG. 6, the control unit (110) can determine a resolution determined by each of a plurality of pixels. The control unit (110) can upscale the correction drawing to correspond to the determined resolution.
[0068] According to one embodiment, the control unit (110) may perform upscaling on the corrected drawing using algorithms such as Nearest Neighbor, Bilinear, Bicubic, Lanczos, and Spine. In addition, the control unit (110) may perform upscaling on the corrected drawing using AI models such as Super-Resolution Convolutional Neural Network (SRCNN), Enhanced Deep Residual Networks for Single Image Super-Resolution (EDSR), and Real-Time Single Image and Video Super-Resolution Using an Efficient Sub-Pixel Convolutional Neural Network (ESPCN).
[0069] Referring again to FIG. 5, the control unit (110) can correct the set signal value according to the measured light intensity based on the reference pixel unit of the upscaled correction drawing (S133).
[0070] Specifically, the control unit (110) can use the measurement data to correct the setting value of the 3D model for the object to a second setting signal value in which the output of the measured light intensity corresponding to the first setting signal value is predicted for each pixel in the 3D model for the object.
[0071] According to the above-described configuration, the 3D printing device (100) can group a plurality of pixels into a predetermined size. The 3D printing device (100) can save resources by acquiring measurement light intensities for the grouped reference areas. In addition, the 3D printing device (100) can generate a correction drawing using the acquired measurement data. The 3D printing device (100) can correct the set signal value in units of reference pixels according to the measurement light intensity by upscaling the correction drawing. Accordingly, the completeness of a product manufactured through the 3D printing device (100) can be excellent.
[0072] The description of the disclosed embodiments is provided to enable any person skilled in the art to make or use the present disclosure. Various modifications to these embodiments will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art, and the general principles defined herein may be applied to other embodiments without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. Therefore, the present disclosure is not intended to be limited to the embodiments disclosed herein, but is to be construed in the broadest scope consistent with the principles and novel features disclosed herein.
