Abstract
Description
Device and method for controlling the position of a device for analyzing a golf shot
[0001] The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for controlling the position of a device for analyzing a golf shot.
[0002] As public interest in golf has grown in recent years, the golf industry has grown rapidly, and various technologies for analyzing golf shots are being developed.
[0003] Golf is a sport in which the goal is to hit a golf ball with a golf club and send the golf ball to the target location, so the process of making a golf shot (i.e., the process of hitting a golf ball with a golf club) is very important.
[0004] One example of a conventional method for analyzing golf shots involves a camera fixed near the tee where the shot is made, which records the user's swing motion or the flight trajectory of the golf ball, and then analyzes the resulting footage. However, this method has two major problems. First, the sensor that captures the golf shot video is fixed in position, limiting the area available for capturing the video. Second, if the captured video is not suitable for golf shot analysis, the user experience deteriorates as the user must adjust the golf swing position or the position of the golf ball to obtain an appropriate video.
[0005] Accordingly, the inventor(s) of the present invention propose a technique for controlling a position including a driving unit for moving a main body capable of storing a device including a sensor so that information suitable for analyzing a golf shot can be obtained.
[0006] The purpose of the present invention is to solve all of the problems of the above-mentioned prior art.
[0007] In addition, another object of the present invention is to provide a device including a main body configured to accommodate a device including at least one sensor for obtaining information associated with a golf shot, and a driving unit for moving the main body.
[0008] In addition, another object of the present invention is to enable the device to obtain information related to a golf shot over a wide area by enabling the driving unit to move the main body.
[0009] In addition, the present invention has another object to enable the driving unit to move the main body, thereby enabling information related to a golf shot to be obtained in various situations (e.g., a situation where there is a step on the hitting surface, making it difficult for the sensor to operate normally, a situation where information obtained from the sensor is not suitable for analyzing the golf shot, etc.).
[0010] A representative configuration of the present invention to achieve the above purpose is as follows.
[0011] According to one aspect of the present invention, a device is provided, comprising a main body configured to accommodate a device including at least one sensor for obtaining information associated with a golf shot, and a driving unit for moving the main body.
[0012] According to another aspect of the present invention, a method is provided, comprising the steps of obtaining information associated with a golf shot from a main body configured to accommodate a device including at least one sensor, and the step of moving the main body by a driving unit.
[0013] In addition, a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium for recording another device for implementing the present invention, another method, and a computer program for executing the method is further provided.
[0014] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a device including a main body configured to accommodate a device including at least one sensor for obtaining information related to a golf shot, and a driving unit for moving the main body.
[0015] In addition, according to the present invention, the driving unit can move the main body, thereby enabling the device to obtain information related to a golf shot over a wide area.
[0016] In addition, according to the present invention, by enabling the driving unit to move the main body, information related to a golf shot can be obtained in various situations (e.g., a situation where there is a step on the hitting surface, making it difficult for the sensor to operate normally, a situation where information obtained from the sensor is not suitable for analyzing the golf shot, etc.).

[0039] Composition of the entire system
[0040] FIG. 1 is a drawing schematically showing the configuration of an entire system for controlling the position of a device for analyzing a golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0041] As illustrated in FIG. 1, the entire system according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a communication network (100), a position control device (200), and a device (300).
[0042] First, the communication network (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be configured regardless of the communication mode such as wired communication or wireless communication, and can be configured with various communication networks such as a local area network (LAN), a metropolitan area network (MAN), and a wide area network (WAN). Preferably, the communication network (100) referred to herein may be the well-known Internet or the World Wide Web (WWW). However, the communication network (100) is not necessarily limited thereto, and may include at least a portion of a well-known wired or wireless data communication network, a well-known telephone network, or a well-known wired or wireless television communication network.
[0043] For example, the communication network (100) may be a wireless data communication network that implements conventional communication methods such as WiFi communication, WiFi-Direct communication, Long Term Evolution (LTE) communication, 5G communication, Bluetooth communication (including Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication), infrared communication, ultrasonic communication, etc., at least in part. As another example, the communication network (100) may be an optical communication network that implements conventional communication methods such as LiFi (Light Fidelity), etc., at least in part.
[0044] Next, a position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a main body (210) configured to accommodate a device including at least one sensor for obtaining information associated with a golf shot, and a driving unit (220) for moving the main body (210).
[0045] The configuration and function of the position control device (200) according to the present invention will be described in detail below.
[0046] Next, a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention is a digital device that includes a function for communicating after being connected to a position control device (200), and any digital device that has a memory means, a microprocessor, and a computing capability, such as a smart phone, a tablet, a smart watch, a smart band, smart glasses, a desktop computer, a notebook computer, a workstation, a PDA, a web pad, a mobile phone, etc., can be adopted as the device (300) according to the present invention.
[0047] Additionally, the device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one sensor for obtaining information related to a golf shot. Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, any sensor capable of obtaining information related to a golf shot, such as an image sensor, a sound sensor, a pressure sensor, etc., may be included in the sensor according to the present invention.
[0048] For example, a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention may perform a function of acquiring information associated with a golf shot (e.g., image information of a golf shot) through a camera. Here, the device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention may provide the acquired information associated with the golf shot to the position control device (200), and as described below, the main body (210) may acquire information associated with the golf shot.
[0049] In particular, the device (300) may include an application (not shown) that supports a user to receive functions according to the present invention from the position control device (200). Such an application may be downloaded from the position control device (200) or an external application distribution server (not shown).
[0050] Configuration of position control device
[0051] Below, the internal configuration and functions of each component of the position control device (200) that performs important functions for implementing the present invention will be examined.
[0052] FIG. 2 is a drawing showing the internal configuration of a position control device according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0053] As illustrated in FIG. 2, a position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to include a main body (210), a driving unit (220), a communication unit (230), and a control unit (240). According to one embodiment of the present invention, at least some of the main body (210), the driving unit (220), the communication unit (230), and the control unit (240) may be program modules that communicate with an external system (not shown). These program modules may be included in the position control device (200) in the form of an operating system, an application program module, or other program modules, and may be physically stored in various known memory devices. In addition, these program modules may be stored in a remote memory device that can communicate with the position control device (200). Meanwhile, these program modules include, but are not limited to, routines, subroutines, programs, objects, components, data structures, etc. that perform specific tasks or execute specific abstract data types, which will be described later, according to the present invention.
[0054] Meanwhile, although the position control device (200) has been described as above, this description is exemplary, and it is obvious to those skilled in the art that at least some of the components or functions of the position control device (200) may be realized within a device (300) or a server (not shown) or included within an external system (not shown) as needed.
[0055] First, the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to accommodate a device (300) including at least one sensor for obtaining information related to a golf shot.
[0056] Specifically, information associated with a golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of information about a golf club, information about a golf ball, and information about a user's posture.
[0057] For example, information about a golf club according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of the type of the golf club (e.g., driver, iron, wedge, putter, etc.), the difficulty level of the golf club (e.g., beginner's club, intermediate club, advanced club, etc.), information about the shaft of the golf club (e.g., information about the shaft of brand A), information about the head of the golf club (e.g., information about the head of brand B), and information about the loft angle of the golf club. Here, the position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention may also obtain information about the golf club from an external system (not shown) (e.g., a virtual golf simulator).
[0058] For another example, information about a golf ball according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of unique information about the golf ball (e.g., information about the manufacturer of the golf ball, information about the piece of the golf ball, information about the hardness of the golf ball, information about the dimples of the golf ball, etc.), information about the location where the golf ball is hit (e.g., information about the location where the golf ball is hit among the head areas of the golf club), and information about the trajectory of the golf ball (e.g., information about the flight trajectory of the golf ball after the golf ball is hit).
[0059] As another example, information about a user's posture according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of location information about where the user's golf swing is made (e.g., location information about the batting area where the user is standing) and posture information for each body part where the user's golf swing is made (e.g., posture information about a specific body part).
[0060] Additionally, at least one sensor according to one embodiment of the present invention may include an image sensor. However, according to one embodiment of the present invention, any sensor capable of obtaining information related to a golf shot, such as an image sensor, a sound sensor, or a pressure sensor, may be included in the sensor according to the present invention.
[0061] For example, when a user according to one embodiment of the present invention makes a golf shot by making a golf swing at a batting stand (e.g., a batting stand for making a golf swing), the image sensor may perform a function of acquiring image information capturing the appearance of the golf shot.
[0062] In addition, the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention can perform a function of storing the device (300). Here, the method in which the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention stores the device (300) can be implemented such that the device (300) is placed inside the main body (210) and the device (300) is stored inside the main body (210), thereby enabling information related to a golf shot to be acquired from at least one sensor included in the device (300).
[0063] For example, when a golf shot is made by a user according to one embodiment of the present invention, the device (300) can obtain information associated with the golf shot from at least one sensor. Here, the device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention can provide information associated with the golf shot to the position control device (200), and the main body (210) can obtain information associated with the golf shot.
[0064] Next, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can perform a function of moving the main body unit (210).
[0065] For example, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one guide rail, and the main body (210) may be configured to slide while being guided by at least one guide rail.
[0066] For another example, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one wheel (not shown), and the main body (210) may be configured to be moved by at least one wheel.
[0067] As another example, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a moving means driven by at least one motor (e.g., an electric motor), and the main body (210) may be configured to be moved by the moving means.
[0068] FIG. 3 is a drawing exemplarily showing a position control device according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a drawing exemplarily showing a position control device according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0069] For example, referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one guide rail (221) (e.g., two guide rails), and at least one guide rail (221) may support the main body (210). In addition, referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to slide while being guided by at least one guide rail (221).
[0070] For another example, referring to FIG. 3, the main body (210) can be moved in a specific direction (e.g., translationally) by the driving unit (220). However, the driving unit (220) including the guide rail is merely an example, and as described above, the driving unit (220) can also include other components (e.g., wheels, motor-driven moving means, etc.). Therefore, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can move the main body (210) not only in a straight line (e.g., translationally), but also in a plane (e.g., movement in a two-dimensional plane).
[0071] Also, referring to FIG. 4, a device (300) may be housed in a position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention. Here, the device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one sensor (310) (e.g., two sensors).
[0072] For example, referring to FIG. 4, a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention can obtain information (e.g., image information) associated with a golf shot using at least one sensor (310) (e.g., two sensors).
[0073] Continuing with the explanation, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can move the main body (210) from a first position to a second position. Here, the first position and the second position according to one embodiment of the present invention may mean specific positions on the ground (e.g., the batting box). In addition, as described above, the first position and the second position according to one embodiment of the present invention may mean two different positions to which the main body (210) can move by the guide rail, but it is not limited thereto, and it is obvious to those skilled in the art that they may also mean two different positions on the ground.
[0074] FIG. 5 is a drawing exemplarily showing a situation in which a main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention moves from a first position to a second position.
[0075] Referring to FIG. 5, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can move the main body (210) from the first position (410) to the second position (420). Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when the main body (210) is at the first position (410), the device (300) can obtain information associated with a golf shot in the first acquisition area (411), but when the driving unit (220) moves the main body (210) to the second position (420), the device (300) can obtain information associated with a golf shot in the second acquisition area (421).
[0076] Accordingly, according to the present invention, since the acquisition area associated with the device (300) (e.g., the area where the device can sense a golf shot) can be dynamically changed, the area on the ground where the device (300) can acquire a golf shot (e.g., the area on the hitting platform) can be expanded.
[0077] Additionally, according to one embodiment of the present invention, based on a control signal, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) to a position associated with the control signal.
[0078] For example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a user may provide a control signal (e.g., a user operation signal to move the main body (210) from a first position to a second position) to the position control device (200), and the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) from the first position to the second position based on the control signal.
[0079] For another example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, there may be cases where the acquisition area (e.g., the area on the ground where the golf ball is photographed) is not suitable for acquiring information associated with a golf shot (e.g., there is a step on the hitting platform, making it difficult to acquire information associated with the golf shot).
[0080] Therefore, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in response to the first acquisition area corresponding to the first position corresponding to the preset area condition, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) from the first position to the second position corresponding to the second acquisition area.
[0081] Specifically, the preset area conditions according to one embodiment of the present invention may include various area conditions such as a condition regarding the flatness of the ground (e.g., a value of geometric tolerance), a condition regarding the degree of unevenness, a condition regarding the slope of the ground, etc., and it is obvious to those skilled in the art that various area conditions that affect the acquisition of information related to a golf shot in an acquisition area may be included in the preset area conditions.
[0082] For example, if the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention is at a first position and there is a step in the hitting area corresponding to the first acquisition area, so that the operation of the sensor is not appropriate, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can move the main body (210) to a second position. Here, if the second acquisition area corresponding to the second position also corresponds to the preset area condition according to one embodiment of the present invention, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can move the main body (210) to a third position and acquire information associated with the golf shot at the third position (i.e., acquire information associated with the golf shot at the third acquisition area corresponding to the third position).
[0083] Additionally, according to one embodiment of the present invention, information associated with a golf shot may include at least one of information about a golf club, information about a golf ball, and information about a user's posture, and the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) with reference to the information associated with the golf shot.
[0084] For example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in response to information about the position of a golf ball being obtained, the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) to a position for obtaining information associated with a golf shot (e.g., a position determined to be suitable for sensing a golf ball).
[0085] Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, information regarding the position of the golf ball may be obtained from at least one sensor included in the device (300), but it is obvious to those skilled in the art that the information may also be obtained from a sensor not included in the device (300). For example, the position information of the golf ball may be obtained from an image sensor (not shown) installed indoors, and with reference to the position information of the golf ball, the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) to a position for obtaining information related to a golf shot.
[0086] For example, referring to FIG. 5, it may be assumed that a user according to one embodiment of the present invention is preparing a golf shot, the main body (210) is at a first position (410), and a golf ball (430) is at a second acquisition area (421). In this case, when the main body (210) is at the first position (410), only analysis of the golf shot made at the first acquisition area (411) may be possible, but since there is currently no golf ball (430) at the first acquisition area (411), analysis of the golf shot may not be possible. Therefore, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention moves the main body (210) from the first position (410) to a second position (420) where information associated with the golf shot can be suitably acquired (e.g., sensing of the golf ball is possible), thereby enabling acquisition of information associated with the golf shot to be made at the second acquisition area (421).
[0087] Therefore, according to the present invention, when a golf ball (430) is out of the sensing range of the device (300), instead of the user moving the golf ball to the acquisition area, the main body (210) (e.g., the main body that houses the device (300)) can be moved to sense the golf ball, so that accurate analysis of a golf shot can be performed without any hassle.
[0088] Meanwhile, if information related to a golf shot is acquired, but the acquired information related to the golf shot (e.g., image information) is not suitable for analysis of the golf shot (e.g., the spin of the golf ball is not identified due to reflection of light, or the relative position of the device (300) with respect to the position of the golf ball is not appropriate), it is necessary to move the position of the main body (210) again.
[0089] Therefore, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in response to the acquisition result of information related to a golf shot corresponding to a preset acquisition condition, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) from the first position to the second position corresponding to the second acquisition area.
[0090] For example, it may be assumed that image information regarding a golf shot is acquired from a sensor included in a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention, but the image information is image information in which the flight trajectory of the golf ball is not properly captured due to light reflection. In this case, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) to another position where the image information can be appropriately acquired despite the light reflection (e.g., moved from a first position to a second position).
[0091] For another example, suppose that image information regarding a golf shot is acquired from a sensor included in a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention, but a step is present between the sensor and the golf ball, obscuring a specific area of the image information. In this case, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) to a position that is not affected by the step of the hitting platform.
[0092] Meanwhile, information about a golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include information about the type of golf shot used by the user.
[0093] Specifically, information about a golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention may include information about a golf shot (e.g., tee shot, pitch shot, chip shot, bunker shot, flop shot, draw shot, fade shot, straight shot, etc.) that a user uses (or intends to use).
[0094] For example, information regarding the type of golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention can be obtained by the device (300) analyzing the golf shot used by the user. For example, if the information associated with the acquired golf shot includes information that the speed of the golf club head is 45 m / s when the golf ball is struck by a user with a driver swing speed of about 45 m / s, the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention can obtain information that the golf shot is a driver shot as information associated with the golf shot.
[0095] Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when the golf shot is a driver shot, precise information regarding at least one of the spin direction and spin amount of the ball may need to be acquired in order to precisely analyze the direction of travel of the ball, the distance of the ball, etc. Accordingly, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when the information associated with the golf shot includes information that the golf shot is a driver shot, the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) in the direction in which the golf ball is located in order to move the device (300) closer to the golf ball.
[0096] For another example, if the golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention is a putting shot, precise information regarding the path of the ball after hitting the golf ball and the trajectory of the putter head may need to be acquired in order to accurately predict the final stopping position of the ball. Therefore, according to one embodiment of the present invention, if the information associated with the golf shot includes information that the golf shot is a putting shot, the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) in the opposite direction of the direction in which the golf ball is located in order to move the device (300) further away from the golf ball.
[0097] However, it should be apparent to those skilled in the art that the direction in which the driving unit (220) moves the main body (210) according to information associated with a golf shot (e.g., a driver shot) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be variously modified within a range that can achieve the purpose of the present invention.
[0098] For another example, information about the type of golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention may be obtained from an external system (e.g., a virtual golf simulator system). Here, when the position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention is linked with a virtual golf simulator system (not shown), during the game on the simulator, the type of golf shot to be recommended to the user may be determined by referring to at least one of the user's position on the field, the target position (e.g., the position of the hole cup), topographic information (e.g., information that the current swing position is a bunker, information that a bunker exists between the user's position and the target position, etc.), and weather information (e.g., information about wind direction or wind speed), and information about the type of golf shot may be obtained as information associated with the golf shot.
[0099] For example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, during a game on a simulator, by referring to information that the target location is 470 yards (approximately 429 meters) from the user's location on the field and that the user is currently located at the teeing ground, the golf club to be recommended to the user is determined to be a driver, the type of golf shot to be recommended to the user is determined to be a tee shot, and information that the tee shot is made with a driver can be acquired as information associated with the golf shot.
[0100] Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, if the information associated with the golf shot includes information that the golf shot is a driver shot, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) in the direction in which the golf ball is located so as to move the device (300) closer to the golf ball. However, it will be appreciated that the specific method of moving the main body (210) depending on the type of golf shot may be varied within a range that can achieve the purpose of the present invention.
[0101] For another example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when information associated with a golf shot includes information about a golf club (e.g., information that the golf club is a wood) and information about a user's posture (e.g., information about the position of the user's feet), the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) in the target direction (i.e., the direction in which the golf ball moves when the golf ball is hit) so that an acquisition area (e.g., an area that is a sensing target where a sensor captures an image) can be formed at a point that is biased toward the target based on the user's position (e.g., a point that is a predetermined distance in the direction of the left foot based on the center of the user's two feet).
[0102] Next, the communication unit (230) according to one embodiment of the present invention can perform a function that enables data transmission and reception from / to the main body unit (210) and the driving unit (220).
[0103] Finally, the control unit (240) according to one embodiment of the present invention can perform a function of controlling the flow of data between the main body (210), the driving unit (220), and the communication unit (230). That is, the control unit (240) according to one embodiment of the present invention can control the flow of data from / to the outside of the position control device (200) or the flow of data between each component of the position control device (200), thereby controlling the main body (210), the driving unit (220), and the communication unit (230) to perform their respective unique functions.
