Abstract
Description
Surface heating element for vehicles
[0001] The present invention relates to a surface heating element for a vehicle, and more specifically, to a surface heating element for a vehicle in which a heating element, a touch sensor, a proximity sensor, a grounding portion, and a sensor driving circuit portion are integrally formed from the same material.
[0002] In the heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) system of internal combustion engine vehicles, the PTC heater is directly heated by the coolant of the internal combustion engine during heating and the heated air is discharged into the vehicle interior. However, in the case of electric vehicles, since heating using engine heat is not possible, a separate heater that is operated by electric energy is used. However, the electric energy consumption is high, as the ratio of electric energy required for this is about 40 to 60%. Accordingly, in order to maximize the performance of electric vehicles in winter, research has been conducted on methods to reduce the use of heaters that consume a lot of electric energy and utilize auxiliary heating devices that utilize radiant heat.
[0003] Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2021-0008200 discloses an infrared warmer device (500) that can be applied to interior surfaces of a vehicle facing passengers, such as the interior material of a door trim, a dashboard, or a cover of a console box. The infrared warmer device (500) of Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2021-0008200, illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, includes a heating unit (502) that is supplied with power through an electrode unit (501) and is composed of a plurality of heating wires that are continuously bent in a zigzag shape, a capacitive touch sensor (503) arranged adjacent to the heating unit, a temperature sensor arranged adjacent to the heating layer, and a control unit that corrects the target temperature to a safe temperature when body contact is detected through the touch sensor.
[0004] However, in the infrared warmer device of the Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2021-0008200, there is a problem that the touch sensor is likely to malfunction due to electromagnetic waves from the heating unit when power is supplied to the heating unit. In addition, if the passenger's body comes into contact with the signal line between the touch sensor and the control unit, a malfunction may occur in which the touch sensor detects that the passenger's body has come into contact with it. In addition, in the infrared warmer device of the Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2021-0008200, as illustrated in FIG. 2, since the heating unit (502) and the touch sensor line (503) are arranged side by side, the electric field generated in the heating unit (502) and the electric field generated in the touch sensor line (503) interfere with each other, thereby lowering the sensitivity of the touch sensor. In addition, since the heating part (503) and the electrode part are made of different materials and made of carbon fiber, the process of forming the electrode part becomes complicated, and since the heating part (503) made of carbon fiber and the touch sensor line and / or temperature sensor line made of a material with excellent electrical conductivity, such as copper, must be individually formed on the base layer, there is a problem in that the manufacturing process becomes complicated.
[0005] In addition, Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2022-0016401 discloses a heating film (600) that is manufactured in a flexible film type and is easy to apply to the surface of interior materials of a vehicle, generates heat uniformly over the entire area, and can be controlled by recognizing a user's touch, etc. The heating film (600) of Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2022-0016401 illustrated in FIG. 3 includes a plurality of electrode lines (601), a support layer (602) of a thermally conductive material disposed between the electrode lines, a heating layer (603) of a carbon composite material that is connected at both ends to the electrode lines and emits radiant heat, and a touch sensor line (604) disposed along the edge of the electrode lines.
[0006] However, the heating film of the Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2022-0016401 has a problem in that there is a high possibility that the touch sensor may malfunction due to electromagnetic waves emitted from the heating layer when power is supplied to the heating layer. In addition, if the passenger's body comes into contact with the signal line between the touch sensor and the control unit, a malfunction may occur in which the touch sensor detects that the passenger's body has come into contact with it. In addition, in the heating film of the Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2022-0016401, as illustrated in FIG. 3, since the touch sensor line (604) is arranged parallel to the electrode line (601) and the heating layer (603), the electric field generated by the electrode line (601) and the heating layer (603) and the electric field generated in the touch sensor line (604) interfere with each other, thereby lowering the sensitivity of the touch sensor. In addition, since the heating layer (603) and the electrode part are made of different materials and are made of a carbon composite, the process of forming the electrode part becomes complicated, and since the heating layer (603) made of a carbon composite material and the touch sensor line made of a material with excellent electrical conductivity, such as copper, must be individually formed on the base layer, there is a problem in that the manufacturing process becomes complicated.
[0007] In addition, Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2023-0059465 discloses a heating element for vehicle interiors that can fundamentally prevent malfunctions caused by detecting a rear structure in a structure in which a radiant heater is installed, and improve the sensitivity of a human body detection sensor by increasing the sensing range or intensity in the direction of human body detection. The heating element (700) for vehicle interiors of Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2023-0059465, illustrated in FIG. 4, includes a heating element (701) that generates heat by receiving power from an electrode portion, a human body detection sensor (702) that detects a human body approaching or touching the heating element, and a grounding member (703) that is disposed at the rear of the human body detection sensor and removes electrical noise generated by a metal structure at the rear.
[0008] However, in the heating element for vehicle interior materials of the above-mentioned Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2023-0059465, a problem may arise in which the sensitivity of the human body detection sensor is reduced due to the grounding member positioned at the rear of the human body detection sensor.
[0009] The present invention is intended to solve the above problems, and provides a vehicle surface heating element that forms a heating element, a touch sensor, a proximity sensor, a grounding portion, and a sensor driving circuit portion as one body using the same material, and integrates the driving driver into the vehicle surface heating element, thereby preventing a signal line transmitting a signal generated from the touch sensor to the driving driver from coming into contact with a passenger, thereby preventing malfunctions. In addition, the present invention provides a vehicle surface heating element that can minimize the occurrence of electric field interference between the heating element and / or the electrode line by arranging them parallel to the touch sensor line, and can solve the problem that the heating element is manufactured from different materials from the electrode line and / or the touch sensor line, thereby complicating the manufacturing process.

[0061] (Example 1)
[0062] Referring to FIGS. 5a to 5d, a surface heating element (1) for a vehicle according to a first embodiment of the present invention is described.
[0063] FIG. 5a is a schematic plan view of a vehicle surface heating element (1) according to a first embodiment of the present invention; FIG. 5b is a schematic rear view of the vehicle surface heating element (1) of FIG. 5a; FIG. 5c is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA of FIG. 5a; and FIG. 5d is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB of FIG. 5a.
[0064] A surface heating element (1) for a vehicle according to a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a base layer (10) made of a polymer resin material, a heating element (20) including at least one heating part (21), a touch sensor (30) including at least one touch sensing line, a sensor driving circuit part (40) arranged adjacent to the heating element and the touch sensor, and a sensor driving driver (50) connected to the sensor driving circuit part, wherein the heating element (20), the touch sensor (30), and the sensor driving circuit part (40) are made of the same material.
[0065] The substrate layer (10) of the vehicle surface heating element (1) according to the first embodiment of the present invention has a thin film form of a polymer resin material and has flexibility that allows it to be freely bent, so that it can be easily attached to a door trim, a lower trim of a steering wheel column, an outer surface of a console box, an armrest, etc. of the interior of a vehicle. The substrate layer (10) may be composed of a polymer resin material such as polyimide (PI), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), but is not limited thereto.
[0066] A heating element terminal (22) is formed at both ends of the heating element (20), and the positive and negative terminals of a power supply unit (not shown) are connected to the heating element terminal (22) so that power is supplied to the heating element (20), causing the heating element (20) to generate heat and generate radiant heat. Since the heating element terminal (22) of the heating element (20) is formed with a large area, the terminals of the power supply unit can be easily connected, and a connector can also be formed on the heating element terminal (22).
[0067] The above heating element (20), as illustrated in FIG. 5a, may include at least one heating portion (21) that is arranged vertically and closely with a predetermined vertical height (H) and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (CL) on the upper surface of the substrate layer (10). By this configuration, by arranging the touch sensing line (30) described below to perpendicularly intersect the extension lines of the vertical portions of the heating portion (21), the electric field generated in the heating portion (21) and the electric field generated in the touch sensing line can minimize interference with each other, thereby improving the sensitivity of the touch sensor.
[0068] The touch sensor (30), as illustrated in FIG. 5A, may include at least one touch sensing line disposed adjacent to the heating portion (21) parallel to the longitudinal axis (CL) of the heating element (20) on the upper surface of the substrate layer (10). The touch sensing line of the touch sensor (30) may be disposed between the heating elements (21). A capacitive touch sensor may be used as the touch sensor (30). The capacitive touch sensor detects whether a conductor is in contact by utilizing the principle that when a conductor comes into contact with an electrode plate, the amount of charge movement changes, thereby changing the capacitance. That is, the touch sensor (30) detects whether the passenger is in contact with the heating element (20) by detecting the amount of change in the amount of charge accumulated in the touch sensor line (30) when the passenger's skin, which acts as a conductor, comes into contact with it. In order to detect changes in electrostatic capacity without noise, the heating element (20) and the touch sensor (30) are spaced apart from each other so as not to overlap. When a part of a passenger's body comes into contact with the vehicle surface heating element (1), the touch sensor (30) recognizes the touch of the body and limits the current flowing to the heating element (20), thereby preventing a safety accident of the user in advance.
[0069] The heating element (20), the touch sensor (30), and the sensor driving circuit (40) of the vehicle surface heating element (1) according to the first embodiment of the present invention may be formed of the same material, for example, copper, nickel, a copper-nickel alloy, etc. In addition, the sensor driving circuit (40) may be formed integrally with the heating element (20) and the touch sensor (30) on the upper surface of the base layer (10).
[0070] In this way, when the heating element (20), the touch sensor (30), and the sensor driving circuit unit (40) are integrally formed of the same material, the heating element (20), the touch sensor (30), and the sensor driving circuit unit (40) can be formed simultaneously by an etching process of a thin plate made of copper, nickel, copper-nickel, etc., which is bonded to the upper surface of the substrate layer, so that the manufacturing process of the vehicle surface heating element (1) can be simplified. In addition, since the heating element terminal (22) that supplies power to the heating element (20) can be manufactured from the same material as the heating element (20), a process of connecting the heating element terminal (22) to the heating element (20) by soldering or clamping, etc., is not required.
[0071] In the vehicle surface heating element (1) according to the first embodiment of the present invention, a sensor driving driver (50) can be connected to the upper surface of a sensor driving circuit unit (40) that is arranged adjacent to or integrally formed with the heating element (20) and the touch sensor (30). For example, as illustrated in FIG. 5d, the sensor driving driver (50) can be connected to a terminal of the sensor driving circuit unit (40) by soldering (41). With this configuration, since the signal lines that transmit signals generated from the touch sensor and / or the temperature sensor to the driving driver are not exposed to the outside, it is possible to prevent a malfunction that occurs in which the signal lines come into contact with the passenger and the passenger is judged to have come into contact with the touch sensor.
[0072] The above sensor driving driver (50) can be implemented through a known algorithm configured to appropriately control the operating temperature of the vehicle surface heating element (1) and to control the operation of the vehicle surface heating element (1) when receiving a signal detecting the approach or contact of a passenger, or a known processor configured to store data regarding commands on software that reproduces such an algorithm and to perform a required operation using the data stored in the memory, and a detailed description thereof is omitted.
[0073] In a vehicle surface heating element (1) according to the first embodiment of the present invention, the upper surface of the base layer (10) may further include one or more proximity sensors (60) configured to surround the heating element (20) and the touch sensor (30); and one or more grounding portions (70) arranged on the outer periphery of the proximity sensor (60). Here, the proximity sensor (60) is connected to the sensor driving circuit unit (40), and the proximity sensor (60) and the grounding portion (70) may be formed of the same material as the heating element (20), the touch sensor (30), and the sensor driving circuit unit (40).
[0074] A cover layer (110) made of a polymer material may be placed on the upper surface of the heating element (20), the touch sensor (30), and the sensor driving circuit (40) disposed on the upper surface of the substrate layer (10). The cover layer (110) may be made of a polymer resin material such as polyimide (PI), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or polyethylene naphthalate (PEN).
[0075] (Example 2)
[0076] Next, with reference to FIGS. 6A to 6D, a vehicle surface heating element (2) according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described. In the description of the vehicle surface heating element (2) according to the second embodiment, components that are identical or similar to those of the vehicle surface heating element (1) according to the first embodiment are indicated by the same or similar reference numerals, and detailed descriptions of the identical or similar components are omitted.
[0077] The surface heating element (2) for a vehicle according to the second embodiment is identical in structure to the surface heating element (1) for a vehicle according to the first embodiment, except that it further includes a first conductor (81) and a second conductor (82) formed in a mesh shape on the lower surface of the base plate (10) of the surface heating element (1) for a vehicle according to the first embodiment.
[0078] FIG. 6a is a schematic plan view of a vehicle surface heating element (2) according to a second embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 6b is a schematic rear view of the vehicle surface heating element (2) of FIG. 6a, FIG. 6c is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA of FIG. 6a, and FIG. 6d is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB of FIG. 6a.
[0079] Referring to FIG. 6b, a mesh-shaped first conductor (81) is formed on the lower surface of the substrate layer (10) of the vehicle surface heating element (2) according to the second embodiment at a position facing the heating element (20) disposed on the upper surface of the substrate layer (10).
[0080] In addition, a mesh-shaped second conductor (82) is formed on the lower surface of the substrate layer (10) of the vehicle surface heating element (2) according to the second embodiment at a position opposite to the touch sensing line of the touch sensor (30) arranged on the upper surface of the substrate layer (10).
[0081] The first and second conductors (81, 82) may be made of the same material as the heating element (20) and the touch sensor (30), for example, copper, nickel, copper-nickel alloy, etc., and may be formed by an etching process using a thin plate of copper, nickel, copper-nickel alloy, etc. bonded to the lower surface of the substrate layer (10).
[0082] The first and second conductors (81, 82) are electrically disconnected from the heating element (20) and the touch sensor (30).
[0083] The first conductor (81) serves to reduce malfunction of the touch sensor by attenuating electromagnetic waves generated from the heating element (20), and also serves to evenly distribute the heat generated from the heating element (20) around the heating element (20) by allowing it to be transmitted through the first conductor (81) located at an opposite position on the lower surface of the substrate layer (10).
[0084] A cover layer (120) made of a polymer material may be placed on the upper surface of the first conductor (81) and the second conductor (82) disposed on the lower surface of the substrate layer (10). The cover layer (120) may be made of a polymer resin material such as polyimide (PI), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or polyethylene naphthalate (PEN).
[0085] (Example 3)
[0086] Next, with reference to FIGS. 7A to 7D, a vehicle surface heating element (3) according to a third embodiment of the present invention will be described. In the description of the vehicle surface heating element (3) according to the third embodiment, components that are identical or similar to those of the vehicle surface heating elements (1, 2) according to the first and second embodiments are indicated by the same or similar reference numerals, and detailed descriptions of the identical or similar components are omitted.
[0087] In the vehicle surface heating element (3) according to the third embodiment, the structure is the same as that of the vehicle surface heating element (1) according to the first embodiment, except that instead of the touch sensor (30) being arranged adjacent to the heating element (20), a proximity sensor (60) is arranged surrounding the heating element (20) and a grounding portion (70) is arranged on the outside of the proximity sensor (60).
[0088] FIG. 7a is a schematic plan view of a vehicle surface heating element (3) according to a third embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 7b is a schematic rear view of the vehicle surface heating element (3) of FIG. 7a, FIG. 7c is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA of FIG. 7a, and FIG. 7d is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB of FIG. 7a.
[0089] A vehicle surface heating element (3) according to a third embodiment of the present invention comprises a base layer (10) made of a polymer resin material, a heating element (20) including at least one heating part (21), a proximity sensor (60) surrounding the heating part (21) of the heating element (20), a grounding part (70) arranged on the periphery of the proximity sensor (60), a sensor driving circuit part (40) arranged adjacent to the heating element and the proximity sensor, and a sensor driving driver (50) connected to the sensor driving circuit part, wherein the heating element (20), the proximity sensor (60), the grounding part (70) and the sensor driving circuit part (40) are made of the same material.
[0090] The above heating element (20), as illustrated in FIG. 7a, may include at least one heating portion (21) that is arranged vertically and closely with a predetermined vertical height (H) and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (CL) on the upper surface of the substrate layer (10). By this configuration, by arranging the proximity sensor (60) described below to perpendicularly intersect the extension lines of the vertical portions of the heating portion (21), the electric field generated in the heating portion (21) and the electric field generated in the proximity sensor (60) can minimize interference with each other, thereby improving the sensitivity of the proximity sensor.
[0091] The proximity sensor (60) may be formed to surround the heating part (21) of the heating element (20) on the upper surface of the substrate layer (10), as illustrated in FIG. 7A. A capacitive proximity sensor may be used as the proximity sensor (60). The capacitive proximity sensor detects the proximity of a conductor by utilizing the principle that when a conductor approaches an electrode plate, the amount of charge movement changes, thereby changing the capacitance. That is, the proximity sensor (60) detects the change in the amount of charge accumulated in the proximity sensor (60) when the body of the passenger, which acts as a conductor, approaches, for example, when it approaches to a point of about 2 cm to 3 cm from the proximity sensor (60), thereby detecting whether the passenger is approaching the heating element (20). In order to detect the change in capacitance without noise, the heating element (20) and the proximity sensor (60) are spaced apart from each other so as not to overlap.
[0092] The above grounding portion (70) may be arranged on the outer surface of the proximity sensor (60) on the upper surface of the substrate layer (10). With this configuration, the grounding portion (70) arranged in a form surrounding the outer surface of the proximity sensor (60) can attenuate noise and stably respond to external electrostatic discharge (ESD) phenomena.
[0093] The heating element (20), the proximity sensor (60), the grounding portion (70), and the sensor driving circuit portion (40) of the vehicle surface heating element (3) according to the third embodiment of the present invention may be formed of the same material, for example, copper, nickel, a copper-nickel alloy, etc. In addition, the sensor driving circuit portion (40) may be formed integrally with the heating element (20), the proximity sensor (60), and the grounding portion (70) on the upper surface of the base layer (10).
[0094] In this way, when the heating element (20), the proximity sensor (60), the grounding portion (70) and the sensor driving circuit portion (40) are integrally formed of the same material, the heating element (20), the proximity sensor (60), the grounding portion (70) and the sensor driving circuit portion (40) can be formed simultaneously by an etching process of a thin plate made of copper, nickel, copper nickel, etc., bonded to the upper surface of the substrate layer, so that the manufacturing process of the vehicle surface heating element (3) can be simplified.
[0095] In the vehicle surface heating element (3) according to the third embodiment of the present invention, a sensor driving driver (50) can be connected to the upper surface of the sensor driving circuit unit (40) which is arranged adjacent to or formed integrally with the heating element (20) and the proximity sensor (60). For example, as shown in FIG. 7d, the sensor driving driver (50) can be connected to the terminal of the sensor driving circuit unit (40) by soldering (41). With this configuration, since the signal line that transmits the signal generated from the proximity sensor to the driving driver is not exposed to the outside, it is possible to prevent a malfunction that determines that the passenger has approached the proximity sensor due to the signal line coming into contact with the passenger.
[0096] A cover layer (110) made of a polymer material may be placed on the upper surface of the heating element (20), the proximity sensor (60), the grounding portion (70), and the sensor driving circuit portion (40) disposed on the upper surface of the substrate layer (10). The material of the cover layer (110) may be a polymer resin material such as polyimide (PI), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or polyethylene naphthalate (PEN).
