COLLAPSIBLE WAGON WITH FOLDABLE CHAIRSCROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001] This Application claims priority to and the benefit of United States Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 63 / 537,468, filed September 8, 2023 and titled “Foldable Wagon that Converts Into Spectator Seats,’’ United States Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 63 / 558,068, filed February' 26, 2024 and titled “Foldable Wagon that Converts Into Spectator Seats,” and United States Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 63 / 651,335, filed May 23, 2024 and titled “Foldable Wagon that Converts Into Spectator Seats,” the entireties of which are incorporated herein by reference.BACKGROUND
[0002] A collapsible wagon is a lightweight, portable cart designed to fold down for easy storage and transport. It typically consists of a sturdy frame made from materials like steel or aluminum, which supports a fabric lining. These wagons are equipped with wheels for mobility, allowing them to be easily maneuvered over different terrains. Many models of collapsible wagons can carry significant weight, often ranging from 100 pounds to 300 pounds.
[0003] Collapsible wagons are useful for various purposes, including outdoor activities (great for transporting gear to the beach, park, or camping site), shopping (handy for carrying groceries or supplies from the store to your vehicle or home), sports events (useful for hauling chairs, coolers, and equipment to outdoor games or concerts), gardening (helps in transporting tools, plants, and soil around the yard or garden), and travel (convenient for carrying luggage and personal items during trips). Overall, collapsible wagons are versatile and practical for a wide range of activities.
[0004] Some collapsible wagons are configured to provide convenient transport for small children. Such wagons may include foldable seats designed to support the relatively small weight of child occupants. Compared to strollers, these wagons may also have increased maneuverability and may also better enable children to engage with one another. While the above wagons provide a number of advantages, they nevertheless have certain limitations. Therefore, there is a need for improved collapsible wagon designs.SUMMARY

[0034] A beter understanding of different embodiments of the disclosure may be had from the following description read with the accompanying drawings in which like reference characters refer to like elements. While the disclosure is susceptible to various modifications and alternative constructions, certain illustrative embodiments are in the drawings and are described below. It should be understood, however, that there is no intention to limit the disclosure to the embodiments disclosed; but on the contrary, the intention covers all modifications, alternative constructions, combinations, and equivalents falling within the spirit and scope of the disclosure.Introduction
[0035] Disclosed are collapsible wagons configured to facilitate movement of the wagon's contents (e.g., beach chairs, coolers, towels, sports equipment, etc.) and which may collapse into a collapsed configuration to enable easier storage of the collapsible wagon. Integrated into the collapsible wagon are one or more foldable chairs, such that the foldable chairs are supported directly by a collapsible frame of the collapsible wagon. The foldable chairs may be configured to support the weight of an adult. In some embodiments, the foldable chairs may be disposed above a lower end of the frame of the collapsible wagon to form a storage compartment, such that the seat of the foldable chairs is disposed above the area used to store the contents.
[0036] It will also be appreciated that embodiments of the collapsible wagon 100 described herein may also include properties and / or features (e.g., ingredients, components, members, elements, parts, and / or portions) described in one or more separate embodiments and are not necessarily limited strictly to the features expressly described for that particular embodiment. Accordingly, the various features of a given embodiment can be combined with and / or incorporated into other embodiments of the present disclosure. Thus, disclosure of certain features relative to a specific embodiment of the present disclosure should not be construed as limiting application or inclusion of said features to the specific embodiment. Rather, it will be appreciated that other embodiments can also include such features.
[0037] The descriptors “upper,” “lower,” “right,” “left,” “side,” “front,” “rear,” “vertical,” and “lateral” are used for convenience in describing the relative positions of the different components of the illustrated wagon. For convenience in describing the collapsible wagon, the term “vertical” is meant to refer to a direction extending along the height of the device, and theterm ‘‘lateral'’ is meant to refer to a direction extending along the width of the device. Similarly, the term “longitudinal” is meant to refer to a direction extending along the length of the device.
[0038] Thus, the collapsible wagon may comprise a longitudinal axis LA (see Figure 2) extending along the length of the wagon through the center of the wagon. The terms “front” and “rear” are meant to refer to ends of the wagon lying on opposite ends of the longitudinal axis of the wagon. The term “side” is meant to refer to a portion of the wagon extending laterally away from the longitudinal axis LA and the terms “lower” and “upper” are meant to refer to portions of the wagon extending vertically away from the longitudinal axis LA. The term “ground surface” may refer to a surface on which the wagon sits or is placed.
[0039] Figure 1 illustrates a collapsible wagon 100. The collapsible wagon 100 may comprise a collapsible frame 102, a plurality of wheels 104, and a handle 110. The collapsible wagon 100 may also comprise one or more foldable chairs, such as a first foldable chair 112a and / or a second foldable chair 112b. The first and second foldable chairs 112a, 112b may be oriented in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis LA of the collapsible wagon 100. The collapsible wagon 100 (and / or the frame 102) may be configured to be arranged in multiple configurations, including a collapsed configuration and an extended (i.e., un-collapsed) configuration. Similarly, the first and second foldable chairs 112a, 112b may comprise multiple configurations, including a folded configuration and an unfolded configuration. Beneficially, the collapsible wagon 100 may be configured such that the wagon 100 is fully convertible between the collapsed and extended configurations without assembly of the wagon 100. That is, components of the wagon 100 may remain attached to the w agon 100 when transitioning between the collapsed and extended configurations. This is advantageous over designs which require individual and / or selective attachment of the components to the wagon to form seats or space for a user to sit therein.Wagon Frame Components
[0040] Figures 2 - 4 illustrate the collapsible wagon 100 with the frame 102 in the extended configuration and the first and second foldable chairs 1 12a, 12 B in the folded configuration. The frame 102 may comprise multiple vertically extending components, such as a front end component 116, a center component 118, and a rear end component 120 that may extend in a generally vertically upwards direction from a lower end 103 of the frame 102. The vertically extending components may each be formed into a unitary component more may be formed into from multiple sub-components (e.g., detachable arm components 122 or 126, as describedbelow). The vertically extending components may also define segments 115a, 115b of the collapsible wagon 100, each segment 115a, 115b being bounded at each end along the longitudinal axis LA by a vertically extending component. Thus, a first segment 115a may be formed between the first end component 116 and the center component 118 and a second segment 115b may be formed between the center component 118 and the rear end component 120, such that the illustrated wagon 100 comprises two segments 115a, 115b. The number of segments 115a, 115b incorporated into the wagon 100 may vary, such that the collapsible wagon 100 may comprise one segment 115a, 115b, two segments 115a, 115b, three segments 115a, 115b, or more than three segments 115a, 115b, with each segment 115a, 115b being divided from another segment 115a, 115b by a center component 118. Thus, the frame 102 may comprise one center component 118 (for a frame 102 including two segments 115a, 115b), two center components (for a frame 102 including three segments 115a, 115b), or more than two center components 118 (e.g., three center components 118 for a frame 102 including four segments 115a, 115b), or may comprise a frame 102 that does not include a center component 118 (for a frame 102 including only one segment 115a, 115b).
[0041] Illustrated throughout the Figures are embodiments of a collapsible wagon 100 including two segments 115a. 115b. However, it will be understood that by combining the components and features described herein, a collapsible wagon 100 may have one segment 115a, 115b, two segments 115a, 115b, three segments 115a, 115b, or more than three segments 115a, 115b. Similarly, although components and features are described as forming part of the two segments 115a, 115b illustrated, a wagon 100 including a greater or fewer number of segments 1 15a, 115b may be formed by incorporating or removing components and features described in relation to the two segments 115a, 115b. Additionally, while herein reference is made to components disposed on a first lateral side of the segment 115a, 115b (such as compression components 144a, 144b and tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, and 130d), it will be understood that similar components may also be disposed on a second lateral side of the segment 1 15a, 1 15b.
[0042] Figures 5 and 6 illustrate that the collapsible wagon 100 may include more or less than two segments 115a, 115b, and thus may comprise more or less than two foldable chairs 112a, 112b. For example, Figure 5 illustrates a collapsible wagon comprising only one segment 115a including only one chair 112a. Figure 6 illustrates a collapsible wagon 100 comprising four segments 1 15a, 115b, 115c, 115d each including a foldable chair 112a, 112b. 112c, 112d for a total of four foldable chairs 112a, 112b, 112c, 1 12d.
[0043] Returning to Figures 2 - 4, the frame 102 may comprise multiple longitudinally extending components which, in cooperation with the vertically extending components (i.e., front end, center, and rear end components 116, 118, 120), may form a storage compartment 125 within which the contents may be carried or moved in the wagon 100. The storage compartment 125 may extend from the front end component 116 to the rear end component 120. In some embodiments, the storage compartment 125 may be subdivided by one or more dividers.
[0044] A rack, such as a front rack 146a and a rear rack 146b may extend along each segment 115a, 1 15b, respectively, near the lower end 103 of the wagon 100. The front and rear racks 146a, 146b may be configured to support the contents disposed within the storage compartment 125 of the wagon 100. The front and / or rear racks 146a, 146b may comprise multiple extending components 150 configured to support the contents disposed within the wagon 100. The extending components 150 may extend in a longitudinal direction, in a lateral direction, or in a direction that is transverse to the longitudinal and lateral directions. Additionally, or alternatively, the frame 102 may comprise a support surface extending along the racks 146a, 146b, such as a mesh or a flat surface, configured to support the contents within the storage compartment 125. As described further below, the front and rear racks 146a, 146b may support a lining 184 (see Figure 17) configured to hold the contents within the storage compartment 125 of the wagon 100. The front and / or rear racks 146a, 146b may be disposed above the ground surface at a sufficient height to provide the wagon 100 with good clearance over obstacles, such as rocks or the raised surface between ruts. The front and / or rear racks 146a, 146b, when the wagon 100 is in the extended configuration, may be disposed at a height H2 above the ground surface within a range from approximately 4 inches to approximately 14 inches, or from approximately 6 inches to approximately 12 inches, or from approximately 8 inches to approximately 10 inches, or may have a height H2 having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0045] The front and rear end components 116, 120 may also comprise extending components 150 to facilitate carrying of the contents by the wagon 100. For example, the front and / or rear end components 116, 120 may comprise extending components 150 extending from a first side 152 to a second side 154 of the frame 102 to prevent the contents disposed within the storage compartment 125 from exiting the wagon 100 along the longitudinal direction. In some embodiments, the center component 118 may also comprise extending components 150 similarly extending from the first side 152 to the second side 154 of the frame 102.
[0046] The front and rear end components 116, 120 may comprise an upper portion 132, 140 and a lower portion 134, 142, respectively. The upper portions 132. 140 may extend longitudinally further from the center component 118 compared to the lower portions 134, 142, respectively. In this manner, the upper portions 132, 140 of the front and rear end components 116, 120 may provide space for the first and second foldable chairs 112a, 112b when the wagon is in the collapsed configuration.
[0047] Each segment 115a, 115b may comprise compression components 144a, 144b, respectively, extending from the front end component 116 to the center component 118 or from the center component 118 to the rear end component 120, the compression components 144a, 144b being disposed vertically above the front and rear racks 146a, 146b. The front and rear racks 146a, 146b and the compression components 144a, 144b may be configured to be placed in compression when the wagon 100 is in the extended configuration.
[0048] The frame 102 may also comprise longitudinally extending tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, 130d attached to the vertically extending components (i.e., front end, center, or rear end components 116, 118, 120). The tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, 130d may comprise an elongate member, such as a cable (e.g., formed from twisted or threaded steel or stainless steel filament), chain, rope, cord, wire, strap (as show n in Figures 17 and 18), or other elongate member. The tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, 130d may be formed from a flexible yet inelastic or substantially inelastic material. For example, the tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, 130d, when placed under a load by materials or persons disposed on or in the wagon 100, may have a strain of approximately 0.5 percent, approximately 1 percent, approximately 2 percent, approximately 3 percent, approximately 5 percent, approximately 10 percent, or may have a strain within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0049] The tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, 130d may comprise a polymer (e.g., a threaded fabric) or metal (e.g.. twisted steel wire) material and may be configured to be placed in tension within a range from approximately 300 pounds to approximately 5000 pounds, or from approximately 500 pounds to approximately 4000 pounds, or from approximately 1000 pounds to approximately 3000 pounds, or may support a tension within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints. In contrast to other collapsible wagons known in the art. the use of the tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, 130d may enable the collapsible wagon 100 to support a greater weight (e.g., the weight of two adults sitting on the wagon 100) while maintaining the ability to collapse into a small length.
[0050] Within each segment 115a, 115b, a tensioning device 130a, 130c may extend from a frontward elevated position to a rearward lowered position and a tensioning device 130b, 130d may extend from a frontward lowered position to a rearward elevated position. For example, tensioning devices 130a, 130c may extend from the upper portions 132, 136 of the front end and center components 116, 118, respectively, to the lower portions 138, 142 of the center and rear end components 118, 120, respectively, and tensioning devices 130b. 130d, may extend from lower portions 134, 138 of the front end and center components 116, 118. respectively, to the upper portions 136, 140 of the center and rear end components 118, 120, respectively. In this manner, the front end, center, and rear end components 116, 118, 120 are kept vertical and the compression components 144a, 144b and front and rear racks 146a, 146b are maintained in compression. In other embodiments, the tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, 130d may be replaced by rigid cross-members (not shown) that extend between the front end, center, and rear end components in a similar manner as that described above. The compression components 144a, 144b and the tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, 130d may function to prevent the contents disposed within the wagon 100 from exiting the storage compartment 125 in a lateral direction.
[0051] The compression components 144a, 144b and the front and rear racks 146a, 146b may be pivotably connected to the vertically extending components (i.e., front end, center, or rear end components 116, 118, 120). This may enable the vertically extending components to be maintained in a substantially vertical position.Materials, Dimensions, and Capacity
[0052] The components of the frame 102 (i.e., the front end component 116, the center component 118, the rear end component 120, the compression components 144a, 144b, the front and rear racks 146a, 146b) and the handle 110 may comprise strong light-weight materials, such as metals (e.g., aluminum or steel) or polymers (e.g.. carbon fiber, fiberglass, rigid plastic, or laminate), or composite materials. The above components may have a circular cross-section or may have a cross-section having other shapes such as a square, rectangular, triangular, polygonal, elliptical, or irregular shape, or may comprise another shape. The wagon 100 may have a weight that is sufficiently small to enable carrying of the wagon 100 by the user. In some embodiments, the wagon 100 may have a weight equal to or less than 35 pounds. Further, the wagon 100 may have a weight within a range from approximately 15 pounds to approximately 60 pounds, or from approximately 20 pounds to approximately 50 pounds, or from approximately 25 pounds to approximately 40 pounds, or from approximately 30 poundsto approximately 35 pounds, or may have a weight within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0053] The collapsible wagon 100, especially when in the extended configuration, may be configured to support and / or carry a relatively large weight. For example, the wagon 100 may be configured to carry the contents and / or people totaling a weight within a range from approximately 150 pounds to approximately 350 pounds, or from approximately 200 pounds to approximately 350 pounds, or from approximately 250 pounds to approximately 300 pounds, or ay carry a weight within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0054] The collapsible wagon 100 may have a length LI extending along the longitudinal axis LA of the collapsible wagon 100 and a height Hl extending vertically. The length L I of the collapsible wagon 100 may be measured from the front end component 116 to the rear end component 120 of the frame 102. The length LI of the wagon 100 in the extended configuration may be configured to provide sufficient space for at least two chairs oriented side-by-side and extending along the length LI of the wagon 100. The collapsible wagon 100. when in the extended configuration, may have a length LI within a range from approximately 30 inches to approximately 60 inches, or from approximately 36 inches to approximately 52 inches, or from approximately 42 inches to approximately 48 inches, or may have a length LI within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0055] The frame 102 of the collapsible wagon 100 may also have a width W1 extending from the first side 152 of the frame 102 to the second side 154 of the frame 102. The frame 102 of the collapsible wagon 100 may have a width W1 from the first side 152 to the second side 154 of the frame 102 within a range from approximately 18 inches to approximately 26 inches, approximately 20 inches to approximately 24 inches, approximately 21 inches to approximately 22 inches.
[0056] The frame 102 may have a height Hl extending from the ground surface to the upper end of the front or rear end components within a range from approximately 30 inches to approximately 42 inches, or from approximately 32 inches to approximately 40 inches, or from approximately 34 inches to approximately 38 inches, or from approximately 35 inches to approximately 36 inches, or may have a height Hl having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0057] The storage compartment 125 may be defined as the space within the wagon 100 extending above the front and rear racks 146a, 146b between the front and rear end components116, 120 and between the sides 152, 154 of the wagon 100. For example, the storage compartment 125 may have a length within a range from approximately 40 inches and approximately 42 inches, a width within a range from approximately 18 inches to approximately 24 inches, and a height within a range from approximately 6 inches to 10 inches. The wagon 100 may be configured to support a load imparted by the contents of the storage compartment 125. The collapsible wagon 100 may be configured to support a load within a range from approximately 25 pounds to approximately 500 pounds, or from approximately 50 pounds to approximately 450 pounds, or from approximately 100 pounds to approximately 400 pounds, or from approximately 150 pounds to approximately 350 pounds, or from approximately 200 pounds to approximately 300 pounds, or a load within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.Collapsing Mechanism
[0058] Figure 7 shows a zoomed view of the connection between the compression components 144a. 144b and the front and rear racks 146a, 146b with the center component 118. The compression components 144a, 144b and the front and rear racks 146a, 146b may be slidably connected to the center component 118 to enable the wagon 100 to transition from the extended configuration to the collapsed configuration and vice-versa. Specifically, the compression components 144a, 144b and the front and rear racks 146a, 146b may be slidably connected to the center component 118 via a vertically extending sleeve 155. The sleeve 155 may be disposed about a vertically extending portion of the center component 118. In some embodiments, the sleeve 155 may not extend around the complete circumference of the vertically extending portion of the center component 118 but may comprise a channel 156 to enable the sleeve 155 to travel past the connector 174 (described below) attached to the center component 1 18. The sleeve 155 may also comprise a locking mechanism (not shown) to secure the wagon 100 in the extended and / or collapsed configurations. The locking mechanism may comprise a latch, a pin and hole connection, or other locking mechanism. In other embodiments, the locking mechanism may be disposed on a different component of the frame 102.
[0059] Figures 8 and 9 illustrate the collapsible wagon 100 as it folds from the extended configuration to the collapsed configuration. The wagon 100 is enabled to collapse by the sleeves 155 traveling vertically upward along the center component 118 during collapse of the wagon 100. As the sleeve 155 and center ends 148 of the front and rear racks 146a, 146b and the compression components 144a, 144b travel upwards along the center component 118 thefront end component 116 and the rear end component 120 are brought closer together, decreasing the length of the collapsible wagon 100, such that the length L2 (see Figure 10 A) of the collapsible wagon 100 in the collapsed configuration is shorter than the length LI of the collapsible wagon 100 in the extended configuration. In the collapsed configuration some of the tensioning devices, such as tensioning devices 130b and 130c, may be kept taught or under tension, while tensioning devices 130a and 130d may be released from tension as the distance between the center component 118 and the upper portions 132 and 140 of the front and rear component 1 16, 120 is shortened.
[0060] Figures 10A and 10B illustrate the collapsible wagon 100 in the fully collapsed configuration. The wagon 100 may comprise a locking mechanism, such as a strap and buckle or other locking mechanism, which may be employed to prevent the wagon 100 from exiting the collapsed configuration. The length L2 of the collapsible wagon when in the collapsed configuration may be within a range from approximately 8 inches to approximately 18 inches, or from approximately 10 inches to approximately 16 inches, or from approximately 12 inches to approximately 14 inches, or may have a length L2 within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints. In this manner, the length L2 and size of the collapsible wagon is minimized, ensuring the wagon 100 may fit into a compact space. For example, the size of the wagon 100 - its length, width, and height - when in the collapsed configuration may enable the wagon 100 to be carried in the trunk space of a majority of cars on the road in the United States, which is beneficial when compared to many other foldable wagon designs that may only- fit in the trunk space of larger cars (e.g., sports utility vehicles) and trucks.
[0061] The collapsible wagon 100 may comprise a plurality- of wheels 104 attached to the collapsible frame 102. The plurality of wheels 104 may be attached to a lower portion of the frame 102 (such as the lower end 103 of the frame 102). The plurality7of wheels 104 may comprise front wheels 106 and rear wheels 108. When the wagon 100 is in the collapsed configuration, the front and rear wheels 106, 108 may be configured into a nesting configuration. Specifically, and as shown in Figures 3 and 10B, the front wheels 106 may be set at a position nearer the longitudinal axis LA of the collapsible wagon 100 when compared to the rear wheels 108. This enables the front wheels 106 to fit within or between the rear wheels 108 when the wagon 100 is oriented in the collapsed configuration. The front and rear wheels 106, 108 may each individually form a part of a wheel assembly 158 that attaches to the frame 102 of the wagon 100. The wheel assemblies 158 of the front and rear wheels 106, 108 may be pivotably connected to the wagon 100, such that the wheels assemblies 158 mayrotate. For example, the wheel assemblies 158 may be enabled to have full 360 degree rotation at the point in which the wheel assemblies 158 connect to the frame 102. This rotation of the wheel assemblies 158 may facilitate manipulation of the wagon 100 by the user to, for example, guide the wagon 100 in a desired direction.
[0062] The wheel assembly 158 may comprise a wheel brake 160 on any and / or all of the wheels 106, 108 which may be configured to lock rotation of the wheels 106, 108 to prevent movement of the wagon 100. The wheel brake 160 may be configured to be operated by hand or by a user’s foot to lock and unlock the brake 160. The wheels 106, 108 may be configured to traverse multiple types of terrain and conditions. For example, the surface 164 of the wheels 106, 108 (referring to Figure 2) may comprise a textured surface or tread pattern. Textured surface or tread pattern may be configured to enable the wheel 106, 108 to perform well on surfaces such as soil, grass, rocky terrain, snow, sand, mud, gravel, or other surfaces. The width of the wheels 106, 108 may be configured to enable the wheels 106. 108 to traverse a particular type of terrain. The wheels 106, 108 may have a width within a range from approximately 2.0 to approximately 4.0, or from approximately 2.5 to approximately 3.5, or may be approximately 3.0 inches, or may have a width having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0063] The wagon 100 may comprise a handle 110. The handle 110 may comprise a stem portion 111 extending from the frame 102 of the wagon 100 and a grip portion 109 extending from the stem portion 111 of the handle 110 opposite the frame 102. The stem portion 111 of the handle 110 may extend a relatively long distance, such as that shown in Figure 4, and in some embodiments may extend a distance between 50% and 150% of the length LI of the frame 102 in the extended configuration (such as a stem portion 111 having a length within a range from approximately 18 inches to approximately 48 inches, approximately 24 to approximately 42 inches, approximately 30 inches to approximately 36 inches, or may have a length having any two of the foregoing as endpoints). In other embodiments, the stem portion 111 of the handle 110 may have a small length, such as a length within a range of 1 inch to 6 inches extending from the frame 102. In some embodiments, the stem portion 111 of the handle110 may comprise a telescoping mechanism to enable the length of the handle 110 to be adjusted by auser. The stem portion 111 ofthe handle 110 may be formed from a rigid material. For example, the stem portion 111 may be formed from the same or similar materials as those described above in relation to the components of the frame 102. In other embodiments, the stem portion 111 may be formed to have a flexible configuration. For example, the stem portion111 may comprise twisted, threaded, or braided filaments, such as a rope, strap, or cable. Thestem portion 111 may comprise a chain or wire. The stem portion 111 may be formed from a polymer (e.g., polyethylene), from a metal (e.g., stainless steel chain or wire), or a composite material (e.g., fiberglass wire)
[0064] The grip portion 109 of the handle 110 may comprise one of several configurations. For example, the grip portion 109 may comprise a D-grip (as shown in Figures 1-16) or may comprise a T-grip. The handle 110 may be pivotably connected to the frame 102, enabling the user of the wagon 100 to adjust the angle at which they may pull or push the wagon. The pivotable connection between the handle 110 and the frame 102 may comprise a spring-loaded mechanism to bias the handle 110 towards a position. For example, the spring-loaded mechanism may bias the handle towards a vertical or substantially vertical position, such as the position of the handle 110 illustrated in Figure 4. In some embodiments, the handle 110 and the front wheels 106 may be connected to the frame 102 by a steering mechanism 162 that enables the user to manipulate the direction of the front wheels 106 directly, such that the handle 110 enables coaxial steering of both of the front wheels 106. In such embodiments, the wheel assemblies 158 or the rear wheels 108 may not be pivotably connected to the frame 102, such that the rear wheels 108 are aligned with or parallel to the longitudinal axis LA of the frame 102. In other embodiments, the handle 110 may be fixed directly to the frame 102.Foldable Chairs
[0065] Figure 11 illustrates the wagon 100 with the second foldable chair 112b in the unfolded configuration. Regarding Figures 11 and 12. although reference is made to the second foldable chair 1 12b, it will be understood that the described features and characteristics may apply to the first foldable chair 112a (e.g., with the features replicated in a mirrored configuration with respect to the center component 118) or to another chair or portion of the frame 102 incorporated into the wagon 100 (e.g., with the features present on the second segment 115b of the frame 102 mirrored on the first segment 1 15a of the frame 102 with respect to the center component 1 18). For example, the first foldable chair 112a may comprise the same or similar materials, components, and / or configurations as herein described regarding a second foldable chair 112b. Within the Figures, like reference numerals may be utilized to designate corresponding or similar parts between the first and second foldable chairs 112a. 112b. The second foldable chair 112b may comprise a seat 166b. The seat 166b may be configured to fold or rotate such that the seat 166b collapses along the longitudinal axis LA. In other embodiments, the seat 166b may collapse in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis LA. In some embodiments, the chair 112b may comprise a backrest 168b to support the back of andincrease the comfort of a user, while in other embodiments the chair 112b may omit a backrest 168b. The backrest 168b may be pivotably connected to the seat 166b. The chairs, such as first and / or second chairs 1 12a, 112b may be configured to open in a direction D that is transverse to the longitudinal axis LA. In particular, the first and second foldable chairs 112a, 112b may be configured to open in the direction D towards a side (i.e., laterally) of the wagon 100. The direction D may refer to a direction extending from the backrest, such as backrest 168b, towards the seat 166b and may correspond to the direction in which a person sitting in the chair 112b may be facing.
[0066] The seats 166a, 166b may be disposed at a height H3 above the front and rear racks 146a, 146b, respectively, at a sufficient distance to maintain the size of the storage compartment 125. For example, the seats 166a, 166b may be set at a height H3 above the front and rear racks 146a. 146b within a range from approximately 4 inches to approximately 10 inches, approximately 5 inches to approximately 9 inches, approximately 6 inches to approximately 8 inches, or may be disposed at a height H3 above the rear racks 146a, 146b within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0067] The chairs 112a, 112b may be disposed at a height H4 above the ground surface so as to maintain an ergonomic seating surface that is comfortable for the user. The height H4 maybe configured to provide a comfortable sitting height and may correspond to an average or median height of an adult population. For example, the seats 166a, 166b of the chairs 112a. 112b may be set at a height H4 above a ground surface within a range from approximately 8 inches to approximately 24 inches, or from approximately 11 inches to approximately 21 inches, or from approximately 14 inches to approximately 18 inches, or may be set at a height H4 within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints. The height H4 may also correspond to a height configured to enable the elderly to more easily sit in or stand to exit the chair 112a, 112b. The height H4 of the seat 166a, 166b of the chairs 112a, 112b above aground surface and the height of the armrests 128a, 128b, 128c (described in relation to Figure 14 below) may correspond to the height of seats and armrests above a ground surface as used in wheelchair designs.
[0068] Each of the chairs 112a, 112b may be folded independent of each other. This may allow a person seated in a chair 112a, 112b to access the storage compartment 125 (e g., to access a cooler disposed in the wagon 100), improving the comfort, ease, and accessibility7of the wagon 100 for the user. The chairs 112a, 112b may be folded and unfolded without removing the contents of the storage compartment 125. A segment 115a, 115b of the wagon 100 maycomprise an open access segment which may not include a chair 112a, 112b to maintain an open access to the storage compartment 125. For example, as illustrated in Figure 11, the wagon 100 may include a segment 115b in which chair 112b is configured to be unfolded and a segment 115a comprising an open access segment wherein no chair 112a is configured to be unfolded and to which no chair is attached. In this manner, access to the storage compartment 125 may be maintained at all times. The wagon 100 may comprise an open access segment and two or more segments 115a. 115b to which chairs 112a, 112b are attached. For example, the wagon 100 may comprise an open access segment disposed between two segments 115a, 1 15b to which chairs 112a, 112b are attached, or may comprise two open access segments, each open access segment being disposed between two segments 115a, 115b to which chairs 112a, 112b are attached, such that the wagon comprises three or more segments 115a. 115b to which chairs 112a, 112b are attached. In some embodiments, the open access to the storage compartment 125 may extend over multiple segments 115a, 115b, such as two, three, four, or more than four segments 115a, 115b. Figure 11 (and the other Figures of the application) are not necessarily drawn to scale, and one segment 115a, 115b may have a length greater than that of another segment 115a, 115b. For example, the open access segment may have a length greater than that of a segment 115a, 115b to which a chair 112a, 112b is attached. The open access to the storage compartment 125 may have a length extending approximately 2 feet, approximately 4 feet, approximately 6 feet, approximately 8 feet, approximately 10 feet, or may have a length extending within a range having any two of the foregoing values as endpoints.
[0069] The seats 166a. 166b may be configured to fit and support a user. The seats 166a, 166b may have a width W2 within a range from approximately 18 inches to approximately 24 inches, or from approximately 20 inches to approximately 23 inches, or from approximately 21 inches to approximately 22 inches, or may have a width W2 within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints. The chairs 112a, 112b may be configured to support a load within a range from approximately 100 pounds to approximately 400 pounds.
[0070] Figure 12 shows a zoomed view of the second foldable chair 112b when the seat 166b is in the folded configuration. For clarity, the backrest 168b is omitted from Figures 12 and 13 to illustrate the connection of the seat 166b. The seat 166b and / or the backrest 168b may comprise a flexible or supple material. For example, the seat 166b and / or the backrest 168b may include a woven material comprising a polymer, such as a threaded fabric or plastic, and may comprise materials such as nylon, polyester, polyvinyl chloride, or a cotton or cottonblend fabric. In some embodiments, the seat 166b and / or the backrest 168b may comprise arigid material, such as a rigid plastic or a metal (e.g., aluminum). As illustrated, the seat 166b may comprise a flexible material such that the seat 166b hangs from the rear end component 120. A rear end 167b of the seat 166b may be attached to the frame 102. For example, and as illustrated, the rear end 167b of the seat 166b may be attached to the frame 102 via an end seat bar 176b. The end seat bar 176b may be attached to the rear end component 120 by a securement mechanism 170b. The end seat bar 176b may be configured to rotate within the securement mechanism 170b to enable the seat 166b to rotate into position when unfolding the chair 112b. The front end of the seat 166b may be attached to a center seat bar 178b. The center seat bar 178b may be detachably connected to the rear end component 120 by one or more end connectors 172b. The center seat bar 178b may be attached to the end connectors 172b when the chair 112b is in the folded configuration. The end seat bar 176b and the center seat bar 178b may comprise the same or similar materials as the components of the frame 102. The bars 176b, 178b may comprise a strong rigid material, such as aluminum, carbon fiber, or fiberglass. In other embodiments, the bars 176b, 178b may comprise a flexible material, such as wire, rope, chain, or straps.
[0071] Turning to Figure 13, during unfolding of the chair 112b the center seat bars 178a, 178b may be detached from the end connectors 172a, 172b and may be attached to center connectors 174 configured to receive the center seat bars 178a, 178b. The center connectors 174 and the end connectors 172a, 172b may be configured to clamp the center seat bars 178a, 178b, such that the connectors 172a, 172b, 174 frictionally engage the center seat bars 178a, 178b. In some embodiments, the connectors 172a, 172b, 174 may be configured to lock the center seat bars 178a, 178b in place, such as through a tightening screw or through a clamping mechanism that may open to receive the center seat bars 178a, 178b. The securement mechanism 170b and the connectors 172a, 172b, 174 may comprise any suitable means to connect the chairs 112a, 112b to the frame 102 of the wagon 100, such as hooks, hook and loop fasteners, latches, magnets, straps, slots, hole and pin connections, snaps, clips, zippers, or other connection.
[0072] Figures 14 - 16 illustrate unfolding of the chairs 112a, 112b to reach the unfolded configuration. The backrests 168a, 168b may be pivotally connected to the seats 166a, 166b, respectively, via a pivoting mechanism 180. The pivoting mechanism 180 may comprise a hinge, a ball joint, or other pivoting mechanism. After the seats 166a, 166b have been rotated from an upright position into a horizontal position, the center seat bars 178a, 178b being attached to the center connectors 174, the backrests 168a. 168b may then be rotated from a generally horizontal position to a vertically upright position. The front end component 116 andthe rear end component 120 may comprise arm components 122, 126, respectively, that may be configured to support the arms of one sitting in the chairs 112a, 112b. The arm components 122, 126 may also be shaped so as to receive the chairs 112a, 112b. The center component 118 may also comprise an arm component 124. The arm components 122, 124, 126 may comprise armrests 128a, 128b, 128c to improve the comfort of those sitting in the wagon 100. The armrests 128a, 128b. 128c may be configured to provide a comfortable surface upon which a person may rest their arms when sitting on chairs 112a. 112b.
[0073] The arm component 124 may be selectively detachable from the center component 118. In this manner, the arm component 124 may be removed to more easily access the space between the seats 166a, 166b (e.g., when the chairs 112a, 112b are in the unfolded configuration) and the front and rear racks 146a, 146b. This may prevent the arm component 124 from interfering with placing materials, luggage, or other accessories within the storage compartment 125 of the wagon 100. Particularly when the chairs 112a. 112b are in the folded configuration the arm component 124 may be removed to allow for full access of the bed of the wagon. The arm components 122, 124, 126 may comprise reclining stops 182a, 182b, 182c that may be provided to support the backrest 168a, 168b. Specifically, the reclining stops 182a, 182b, 182c may be positioned or disposed on the same side of the wagon 100 as the pivoting mechanisms 180. In other embodiments the fitting mechanisms 180 may be sufficient to support the backrest 168a, 168b on their own / uni laterally.Lining and Canopy
[0074] Figure 17 illustrates the collapsible wagon 100 may comprise a lining 184 configured to be disposed over the frame 102 of the wagon 100. The lining 184 may comprise a flexible and / or supple material and may enable the wagon 100 to cany7smaller items that may pass through the spaces formed in the front and rear racks 146a, 146b. between the tensioning devices 130a, 130b, 130c, 130d. compression components 144a, 144b. and / or the front or rear end components 1 16, 120. For example, the lining 184 may comprise a nylon or polyester material. The lining 184 may extend along the front and / or the rear end components 116, 120 from a first side 152 to a second side 154 of the wagon 100 and / or which may extend from the front end component 116 to the rear end component 120 along the first and / or second sides 152, 154 of the wagon 100. The compression components 144a, 144b may be configured to support the lining 184. The lining 184 may also comprise outer flaps that may extend laterally over the exterior on one or both sides of the wagon 100.
[0075] The lining 184 may comprise an upper portion 185 that may extend up the vertically extending components vertically above the compression components 144a, 144b and at least partially above the center connectors 174. The upper portion 185 may be detachably connected to the front end, center, and / or rear end components 116, 118, 120.
[0076] For example, the upper portion 185 of the lining 184 may comprise straps and buckles 186 that may extend around portions of the front or rear end components 116, 120. Similarly, the upper portion 185 of the lining 184 may comprise straps 188 configured to extend from the upper portion 185 around portions of the center component 118. In some embodiments, the arm component 124 of the center component 1 18 may first be removed to enable the straps 188 of the liningl84 to slide over the center component 118. The straps and buckles 186 and the straps 188 may be configured to slide about the front end, center, or rear end components 116, 118, 120. Additionally, or alternatively, the straps and buckles 186 and the straps 188 may be configured to attach to the front end, center, or rear end components 116, 118. 120 so as to prevent sliding of the straps and buckles 186 and the straps 188 relative to the frame 102. For example, the straps and buckles 186 and the straps 188 may be further attached to the components of the frame 102 via snap buttons, tiedowns, hooks, or other securement mechanism to prevent the upper portion 185 of the lining 184 from sliding vertically relative to the frame 102.
[0077] The upper portion 185 may be configured to fold down over the compression components 144a, 144b, such that the lining 184 does not extend vertically substantially above the compression components 144a, 144b. In this manner, the size of the storage compartment 125 may be increased to, for example, cany' a greater volume of contents when maneuvering the wagon 100 (by extending the lining 184 up to and vertically beyond the compression components 144a, 144b) and to make room for those sitting in the wagon 100 (by folding the upper portion 185 of the lining 184 down) when the wagon 100 is stationary.
[0078] The lining 184 may comprise straps (not shown) or other securement mechanism that may extend from the outer flap around the front and / or rear end components 116, 122, or under the front or rear racks 146a, 146b to further secure the lining 184 to the wagon 100. The outer flaps may be secured to the wagon 100 so as to prevent the outer flaps from moving about freely. For example, the outer flaps may be secured to the wagon 100 or other parts of the lining 184 via buckles, buttons, button snaps, hook and loop fasteners, tiedowns, straps, or other securement mechanism. The lining 184 may comprise one or more pockets or pouches (e.g., on the inner wall or outer flaps) to increase the storage and / or organizability’ of the wagon 100.The lining 184 may be foldable such that the lining 184 may be folded into a small and compact size for ease of storage.
[0079] Figure 18 shows that the wagon 100 may comprise a canopy 192. The canopy 192 may be configured to protect those sitting in the wagon 100 from various environmental factors, including ultraviolet rays, wind, rain, and / or snow. The canopy 192 may be configured to attach to the frame 102 of the wagon 100. The canopy 192 may extend from the front end of the wagon 100 to the rear end of the wagon 100 and may extend in a generally arcing profile. The canopy 192 may comprise a cover 194 formed from a flexible material, such as a fabric or a thin plastic. For example, the cover 194 may comprise nylon, silnylon, polyester, polyethylene, cotton, cotton-polyester blend, or other fabric. The cover 194 may comprise a water-proof or water-resistant material. Additionally, or alternatively, the cover 194 may comprise a sun- protective fabric that may have an ultraviolet protection factor of 50 or greater. The canopy 192 may comprise a first rod 196 and a second rod 198 configured to support an upper portion 195 of the cover 194 to a height H5. The height H5 of the canopy 192 may be measured from the ground surface to a first apex 202 of the canopy 192. The height H5 of the canopy 192 may be configured to accommodate the average or median height of an adult. For example, the height H5 may extend within a range from approximately 48 inches to approximately 72 inches, or from approximately 54 inches to approximately 66 inches, or may extend approximately 60 inches, or may extend within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0080] Figure 19 shows the canopy 192 from the front end of the wagon 100. The first apex 202 may extend to a greater height H5 above the ground surface compared to a height of the second apex 204. The first apex 202 may be positioned towards an open side or viewing side of the wagon 100 (i.e.. the first apex 202 may be oriented in the direction D compared to the second apex 204) enabling those sitting in the wagon 100 to have a larger field of view. The open side of the wagon 100 may be on a first side of the wagon and enable the users to sit therein and view out from the canopy, while a closed side may be disposed on a second side of the wagon 100 opposite the first side. The open side of the wagon 100 may be defined at least in part by the first rod 196. The lower portion 205 of the canopy 192 may extend downwards from the second apex 204 and / or from the second rod 198 along the second side to protect the backs of the users. The second apex 204 may be set at a lower height (compared to the height H5 of the first apex 202) to better protect those sitting in the wagon 100. A lower portion 205 of the canopy 192 may extend downward from the second apex 204 to increase the protectionof those sitting in the chairs. The lower portion 205 may extend to a point overlapping with or to a point below or aligned with the backrests 168a. 168b of the chairs 112a, 112b.
[0081] The first and second rods 196, 198 may be configured to support the canopy 192 and provide the canopy 192 with its particular shape, such as a generally rounded or elliptical canopy profile. In other embodiments the canopy 192 may comprise a different profile and may form a shape aligning with or similar to a triangular, rectangular, polygonal, or an irregular shape. However, a rounded shape may beneficially require less material to cover those sitting in the wagon while employing a generally stronger or more resistive shape (e.g., to better resist wind or rain). The first and second rods 196, 198 may be formed from a flexible yet strong material, including metals, such as aluminum or steel (e.g., stainless steel), polymers, such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, or a plastic (e.g., polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride), or composite materials, such as those combining any of the foregoing. The first and second rods 196, 198 may cross or intersect in proximity to one another at an intersection point 206a, 206b at the front end and / or the rear end of the wagon 100. The first and second rods 196, 198 may comprise a flexible but strong resilient material, such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, aluminum, or other suitable material.
[0082] The canopy 192 may be adjustable by the user to improve the coverage provided by the canopy 192 (e.g., to provide the right height of the canopy 192 to provide an appropriate angle of shade). For example, the height H5 of the first apex 202 may be adjustable by the user. The wagon 100 may comprise an adjustment member (not shown) configured to facilitate adjustment of the height H5 of the first apex 202. The adjustment member may comprise an elongate member, such as a cord, strap, chain, or other suitable elongate member the length of which may be adjusted by a user, and which may connect a portion of the canopy 192 to the frame 102. For example, the adjustment member may be attached at one end to the center component 118 and may be attached at another end to a portion of the canopy 192 at or near the first rod 196 (e.g., at the first apex 202). The length of the adjustment member may then be shortened or lengthened by the user to adjust the height H5 of the first apex 202.
[0083] The canopy 192 may comprise an extra portion 216 extending from the front and / or rear sides of the canopy 192 to or from an upper portion 195 of the canopy 192. The upper portion 195 may be defined as the portion of the canopy 192 extending between the first and second rods 196, 198. The extra portion 216 may enable the user to orient or configure the canopy 192 into a shape that may better protect the user. The extra portion 216 may have a sufficient length such that it extends to the ground surface when the canopy 192 is disposedover the wagon 100. The extra portion 216 may extend from or along the lower portion 205 of the canopy 192. The extra portion 216 may be attached to the surrounding environment via stakes, ropes, or other securement device to enlarge the area underneath the canopy. For example, the extra portion 216 may be secured to a tree with a cord to increase the coverage of the canopy 192.
[0084] As seen in Figure 20, the canopy 192 may be configured to conceal users disposed underneath, which may be useful in various activities, such as in a hunting activity. Such a canopy 192 may comprise a front extending portion 216 that hides those sitting in the wagon from view. The front extending portion 216 may comprise a slit 218 to enable those sitting inside the wagon 100 to view outwards through the canopy 192. Additionally, or alternatively, the material of the canopy 192 may comprise a one-way see-through material, such that those sitting within the canopy 192 may see through the canopy outwards but who may not be seen by those from those outside the canopy 192 looking inwards.
[0085] Figures 21 and 22 illustrate a connection between the second rod 198 to a connection bar 210. Each end of the first and / or second rods 196, 198 may be connected to a connection bar 210 at or near one or both of the front and rear ends of the wagon 100. The connection bar 210 may facilitate connection between the rods 196, 198 and the frame 102 of the wagon 100. Additionally, or alternatively, the connection bars 210 may function to support the first and second rods 196. 198 so as to provide structural support to the first and / or second rods 196. 198 against wind or other environmental factors. The connection bars 210 may be made from a stronger and / or more rigid material than the first and second rods 196, 198. For example, the connection bars 210 may comprise aluminum, steel, or stainless steel materials. Each connection bar 210 may be configured to receive an end of the first or second rods 196, 198. The first and / or second rods 196, 198 may extend through the entire length of the connection bars 210 or may extend only a portion of the length of the connection bars 210. For example, the first and / or second rods 196, 198 may extend through a majority of the length of the connection bar 210 or may only extend through a minority of the length of the connection bar.
[0086] The connection bars 210 may extend to a length within a range from approximately 6 inches to approximately 24 inches, or from approximately 9 inches to approximately 21 inches, or from approximately 12 inches to approximately 18 inches, or may extend approximately 15, or may extend to a length within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints. In some embodiments, the connection bars may extend from the frame 102 of the wagon 100 to a point at or near the intersection points 206a, 206b of the canopy 192.
[0087] The first and second rods 196, 198 and / or the connection bars 210 may be attached to the frame 102 via canopy receivers 220. The canopy receivers may comprise a socket configured in shape and size to receive an end of the first or second rods 196, 198 or an end of the connection bars 210. For example, the first end 214 of the connection bar 210 may be inserted into the socket of the canopy receiver 220 to easily and quickly connect the canopy 192 to the frame 102.
[0088] As noted above, the first and second rods 196, 198 or the connection bars 210 may cross or intersect in proximity to one another at intersection points 206a. 206b at either of the front or rear ends of the wagon 100. In some embodiments, the connection bars 210 also extend to the intersection points 206a, 206b and are connected to one another at one of the intersection points 206a, 206b. In some embodiments, the connection bars 210 are pivotably connected.
[0089] The connection bars 210 may extend along a circular path or an elliptical path. The first and / or second connection bars 210 may not be flexible and may be formed from a rigid or semirigid material so as to provide the particular desired canopy profile shape. That is, the connection bars 210 may be formed so as to direct the rods 196, 198 into the particular shape of the canopy profile. For example, the connection bars 210 may be attached to the ends of the first and second rods 196, 198 and the first and second rods 196. 198 may then extend from the front end to the rear end of the wagon 100 in an arcuate manner to form an elliptical profile of the canopy 192 having the first and second apexes 202. 204.
[0090] The rods 196. 198 and / or the connection bars 210 may extend from the front and / or rear ends of the frame 102 to an extension point 207a, 207b which may define the most distant points that the canopy 192 extends in a front and rear direction aw ay from the frame 102 of the wagon. That is, the rods 196, 198 and / or the connection bars 210 may extend from the front end of the frame 102 in a frontwards direction to a front extension point 207a and may extend from the rear end of the frame 102 in a rearwards direction to a rear extension point 207b. The extension points 207a, 207b may be near or coincident with the intersection points 206a, 206b formed by the first and second rods 196, 198. The extension points 207a, 207b may extend a substantial distance from the frame 102 so as to increase the comfort to the user. The extension points 207a. 207b may extend a length L3 from the frame 102 within a range from approximately 3 inches to approximately 24 inches, or from approximately 6 inches to approximately 21 inches, or from approximately 9 inches to approximately 18 inches, or from approximately 12 inches to approximately 15 inches, or extends to a length within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints.
[0091] By directing the rods 196, 198 outwards away from the front and rear end of the frame 102 space is formed between the armrests 128a. 128b of the frame and the cover 194 and rods 196, 198 of the canopy 192. In this manner, the canopy 192 provides space to accommodate the arms or width of a user seated in the foldable chairs. The canopy 192 also thereby provides a larger amount of shade or cover and a more comfortable larger amount of space for the user, especially as compared to canopy designs wherein the canopy 192 extends vertically from the frame 102.
[0092] To facilitate the extension of the canopy 192 to the extension points 207a, 207b, the rods 196, 198 and / or connection bars 210 may be attached to the frame 102 at an attachment angle Al. In some embodiments, the canopy receivers 220 may be attached or formed with the frame 102 such that the socket of the canopy receivers 220 is oriented at the attachment angle Al to thereby control the direction at which the rods 196, 198 and / or the connection bars 210 extend from the frame 102. The rods 196. 198 and / or connection bars 210 of the canopy 192 may be mounted to the canopy receivers at an attachment angle extending within a range from approximately 15 degrees to approximately 90 degrees, or from approximately 30 degrees to approximately 75 degrees, or from approximately 45 degrees to approximately 60 degrees, or extending within a range having any two of the foregoing as endpoints. The rods 196, 198 and / or connection bars 210 of the canopy 192 may be mounted to canopy receivers 220 at a point on the frame 102 lying below the armrests 128a, 128c such that the rods 196, 198 and / or connection bar 210 have sufficient clearance from the armrests 128a, 128c and so as to provide more space for the arms of a user.
[0093] The cover 194 of the canopy 192 may be stretched tight to enable the cover to adhere to the canopy profile formed by the first and second rods 196, 198. In some embodiments, the cover 194 may be attached to the frame 102 by a tensioning member 222. The tensioning member 222 may comprise an elastic member configured to be placed under tension when connected to the frame 102 and the cover 194. The tensioning member 222 may comprise a chain, bungee cord, rope, para cord, or other elongate member.
[0094] Figures 23A - 23B and Figures 24 and 25 illustrate a reel 224 configured to house the components of the canopy 192.
