Description

Battery exchange management device, battery exchange system, battery exchange management method, and battery exchange management program

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a battery exchange management device, a battery exchange system, a battery exchange management method, and a battery exchange management program that are placed in a battery station and control a battery exchange device that performs operations to exchange battery devices mounted on an electric vehicle, and that present required information to a user.

[0002] In recent years, electric vehicles such as electric motorcycles have been attracting attention from the perspective of resolving problems such as air pollution caused by exhaust gases and fuel costs. However, because it takes time to charge a battery, battery exchange systems have recently been put into practical use, in which electric vehicles are equipped with detachable batteries and low-power batteries can be exchanged for charged batteries at battery stations.

[0003] In such a battery exchange system, there are cases where improvements are required from various perspectives regarding the way in which the user drives the electric vehicle, etc. Therefore, a technique has been known in the past that targets multiple items related to the way in which the electric vehicle is driven, etc., and presents the results of the user's performance against an average value for all users, thereby encouraging the user to improve the way in which the electric vehicle is driven, etc. (see Patent Document 1).

[0004] This technology encourages users to use other battery stations to prevent battery changes from being concentrated at certain battery stations, encourages users to drive in a way that reduces power consumption to improve fuel efficiency, encourages users to change batteries at other times to prevent battery changes from being concentrated at certain times of the day, encourages users to change batteries when the remaining charge is sufficiently low to improve battery utilization efficiency, and encourages users to drive in a way that consumes power efficiently to increase driving distance.

[0005] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2023-30663

[0006] In a battery exchange system, when improvements are required in the way a user drives an electric vehicle, it is desirable to present the user with information (improvement support information) necessary to encourage the user to make improvements. In particular, to reliably convey the improvement support information to the user, it is desirable to use a battery exchange machine to present the improvement support information to the user while the battery is being exchanged.

[0007] On the other hand, when presenting improvement support information to a user, it is desirable to present information on as many items as possible. However, presenting information on many items to a user increases the user's viewing time. This is not a problem when a user can view the screen exclusively, as is the case with mobile devices such as smartphones. However, in a battery exchange machine, if one user's viewing time is long, the next user's waiting time increases, reducing user convenience.

[0008] Therefore, the main purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a battery replacement management device, a battery replacement system, a battery replacement management method, and a battery replacement management program that can present to a user information necessary to encourage the user to make improvements in relation to the operation of an electric vehicle, etc., and that can present to the user information that is expected to lead to effective improvements in a short period of time and in a concise manner.

[0009] The battery exchange management device disclosed herein is a battery exchange management device that is arranged at a battery station and controls a battery exchange device that performs operations to replace a battery device mounted on an electric vehicle, and is equipped with a processor that executes processing to present required information to a user. When the battery device is replaced, the processor acquires driving history information regarding the driving conditions of the electric vehicle, and based on the driving history information, evaluates the degree to which predetermined standards have been met for at least a plurality of items related to the operation of the electric vehicle, selects at least one item from among the items for which the standard has not been met, and displays improvement support information including the evaluation result for that item on the battery exchange device.

[0010] In addition, the battery exchange system disclosed herein is a battery exchange system comprising: a battery exchange device that is arranged at a battery station and performs operations to exchange a battery device mounted on an electric vehicle; and a server device that controls the battery exchange device and executes processing to present required information to a user, wherein the server device, when exchanging the battery device, acquires driving history information regarding the driving conditions of the electric vehicle, and based on the driving history information, evaluates the degree to which predetermined standards have been met for at least a plurality of items related to the operation of the electric vehicle, selects at least one item from among those for which the standard has not been met, and displays improvement support information including the evaluation result for that item on the battery exchange device.

[0011] Furthermore, the battery replacement management method disclosed herein is a battery replacement management method that controls a battery replacement device that is arranged at a battery station and performs operations to replace a battery device mounted on an electric vehicle, and that executes processing to present required information to a user by a processor, and is configured to obtain driving history information regarding the driving status of the electric vehicle when the battery device is replaced, and based on the driving history information, evaluate the degree to which predetermined standards have been met for at least a plurality of items related to the operation of the electric vehicle, select at least one item from among the items for which the standard has not been met, and display improvement support information including the evaluation result for that item on the battery replacement device.

[0012] In addition, the battery replacement management program disclosed herein is a battery replacement management program that controls a battery replacement device that is placed at a battery station and performs operations to replace a battery device mounted on an electric vehicle, and also causes a processor to execute processing to present required information to a user. When the battery device is replaced, driving history information regarding the driving status of the electric vehicle is obtained, and based on the driving history information, the program evaluates the degree to which predetermined standards are met for at least a plurality of items related to the operation of the electric vehicle, selects at least one item from among the items for which the standard has not been met, and displays improvement support information including the evaluation result for that item on the battery replacement device.

[0013] According to the present disclosure, an evaluation is performed on multiple items related to the user's driving of an electric vehicle, and the items to be presented to the user are narrowed down based on the evaluation results. This makes it possible to present to the user information that is expected to lead to effective improvement in a short amount of time.

[0014] FIG. 1 is an overall configuration diagram of a battery sharing system according to the first embodiment; FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing the general configuration of an electric vehicle and a battery pack according to the first embodiment; FIG. 3 is a block diagram showing the general configuration of a battery exchange machine according to the first embodiment; FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing the general configuration of a management server according to the first embodiment; FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram showing driving history information transferred from a battery pack according to the first embodiment to a management server; FIG. 6 is an explanatory diagram showing driving history information managed by a management server according to the first embodiment; FIG. 7 is an explanatory diagram showing the transition status of a screen displayed on a battery exchange machine according to the first embodiment; FIG. 8 is an explanatory diagram showing an example of an improvement support screen displayed on a battery exchange machine according to the first embodiment; FIG. 1 is an explanatory diagram showing another example of an improvement support screen; FIG. 2 is a sequence diagram showing the operating procedure of the battery exchange machine and the management server 4 according to the first embodiment when exchanging a battery; FIG. 3 is a flow diagram showing the processing procedure performed by the management server according to the first embodiment; FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing the general configuration of the management server according to the second embodiment; FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram showing driving history information transferred from the battery pack to the management server according to the second embodiment; FIG. 6 is an explanatory diagram showing the transition status of the screen displayed on the battery exchange machine according to the second embodiment;

[0015] The first invention made to solve the above problem is a battery exchange management device that is arranged at a battery station and controls a battery exchange device that performs operations to exchange battery devices mounted on an electric vehicle, and that has a processor that executes processing to present required information to a user, wherein the processor, when exchanging the battery device, acquires driving history information regarding the driving conditions of the electric vehicle, and based on the driving history information, evaluates the degree to which predetermined standards have been met for at least a plurality of items related to the operation of the electric vehicle, selects at least one item from among the items for which the standard has not been met, and displays improvement support information including the evaluation result for that item on the battery exchange device.

[0016] According to this, an evaluation is performed on multiple items related to the user's driving of an electric vehicle, and the items to be presented to the user are narrowed down based on the evaluation results. This makes it possible to present information that is expected to lead to effective improvement to the user in a short amount of time and in a concise manner. The criteria used to evaluate each item may represent a standard state set based on the driving history information of all users, for example. Specifically, the criteria may be the average of all users. Furthermore, the driving history information may be collected without limiting the region, or may be collected with a limited region. Furthermore, the criteria may be set by an administrator or the user themselves.

[0017] In addition, in a second invention, the processor is configured to select an item that has a large gap from the standard among the items for which the standard has not been achieved, and to display the improvement support information regarding that item on the battery replacement device.

[0018] According to this, improvement support information relating to items with a large gap from the standard is presented to the user preferentially. Note that the item with the highest priority set based on the gap from the standard may be selected and displayed, or multiple items with high priority may be selected and displayed.

[0019] In addition, in a third invention, the processor is configured to select multiple items from among the items for which the standard has not been achieved that are far from the standard, and to sequentially display the improvement support information regarding the multiple items in different display formats on the battery replacement device.

[0020] This allows the user to easily identify the improvement support information for each of a plurality of items.

[0021] In a fourth aspect of the present invention, the processor displays the improvement support information for each of a plurality of items on the battery exchange device in a different display format depending on the size of the gap from the reference.

[0022] This allows the user to easily grasp how much the actual situation regarding the operation of the electric vehicle at this time deviates from the standard for each of the multiple items. In this case, for example, a score may be calculated by summarizing the evaluation results for each of the multiple items, and improvement support information for each item may be displayed in a display format corresponding to the score.

[0023] In addition, in a fifth invention, when the battery device is replaced, the processor sets as a focus item those items for which the standard has not been achieved that have a large gap from the standard, and sets a target for the focus item, and when the battery device is next replaced, evaluates the achievement status of the target for the focus item, and displays the improvement support information including the evaluation result regarding the achievement status of the target on the battery replacement device.

[0024] According to this, a goal is set for each user separately from the standard, and the user is presented with the progress of achieving that goal. Therefore, when encouraging the user to improve their driving of the electric vehicle, appropriate support can be provided to the user. Note that information regarding the set focus items and goals may be stored in the battery exchange management device, or may be transferred from the battery exchange management device to the battery device via the battery exchange device and stored in the battery device.

[0025] In a sixth aspect of the present invention, when the processor sets the attention item and the target at the time of replacing the battery device, the processor displays the attention item and the target on the battery replacement device.

[0026] This allows the user to easily check the newly set attention items and goals.

[0027] In addition, a seventh invention is configured such that the processor acquires the driving history information output from the electric vehicle and stored in the battery device from the battery device via the battery replacement device when the battery device is returned to the battery replacement device.

[0028] This makes it possible to reliably obtain driving history information about the target user.

[0029] In an eighth aspect of the present invention, the driving history information includes actual values of at least two items of a driving distance, an electricity consumption, a remaining charge, and a number of sudden accelerations and decelerations.

[0030] This allows appropriate improvement support information to be presented to the user.

[0031] In addition, a ninth aspect of the present invention is configured such that the driving history information is accumulated driving information output from the electric vehicle during the period from the previous replacement of the battery device to the current replacement.

[0032] This makes it possible to present to the user improvement support information covering the period from the previous replacement of the battery device to the current replacement.

[0033] In addition, in a tenth invention, the processor is configured to display the improvement support information on the battery exchange device when the battery device is returned to the battery exchange device, and to instruct the battery exchange device to lend out the battery device when the user performs an operation to complete confirmation.

[0034] This allows the improvement support information to be presented to the user at an appropriate time. In addition, the battery device will not be loaned unless the user views the improvement support information and performs an operation to complete confirmation, so the improvement support information can be reliably communicated to the user.

[0035] In an eleventh aspect of the present invention, the processor selects a battery station that is recommended as a battery exchange location, and displays the location of the battery station on the battery exchange device.

[0036] This can encourage users to use battery stations that are recommended as battery exchange locations.

[0037] In addition, a twelfth invention is a battery exchange system comprising a battery exchange device that is placed in a battery station and performs operations to exchange a battery device mounted on an electric vehicle, and a server device that controls the battery exchange device and executes processing to present required information to a user, wherein the server device is configured to acquire driving history information regarding the driving conditions of the electric vehicle when the battery device is exchanged, evaluate the degree to which predetermined standards are met for at least a plurality of items related to the operation of the electric vehicle based on the driving history information, select at least one item from among the items for which the standard is not met, and display improvement support information including the evaluation result for that item on the battery exchange device.

[0038] According to this, similar to the first invention, an evaluation is performed on a plurality of items related to the user's driving of the electric vehicle, and the items to be presented to the user are narrowed down based on the evaluation results, thereby making it possible to present to the user information that is expected to lead to effective improvement in a short time and in an efficient manner.

[0039] Furthermore, the thirteenth invention is a battery replacement management method that controls a battery replacement device that is arranged at a battery station and performs operations to replace a battery device mounted on an electric vehicle, and that executes processing to present required information to a user by a processor, wherein, when the battery device is replaced, driving history information regarding the driving status of the electric vehicle is obtained, and based on the driving history information, the degree of achievement of predetermined standards is evaluated for at least a plurality of items related to the operation of the electric vehicle, and at least one item for which the standard has not been achieved is selected, and improvement support information including the evaluation result for that item is displayed on the battery replacement device.

[0040] According to this, similar to the first invention, an evaluation is performed on a plurality of items related to the user's driving of the electric vehicle, and the items to be presented to the user are narrowed down based on the evaluation results, thereby making it possible to present to the user information that is expected to lead to effective improvement in a short time and in an efficient manner.

[0041] Furthermore, a fourteenth invention is a battery replacement management program that controls a battery replacement device that is arranged at a battery station and performs operations to replace a battery device mounted on an electric vehicle, and causes a processor to execute processing to present required information to a user, wherein when the battery device is replaced, driving history information regarding the driving status of the electric vehicle is obtained, and based on the driving history information, the degree of achievement of predetermined standards is evaluated for at least a plurality of items related to the operation of the electric vehicle, and at least one item for which the standard has not been achieved is selected, and improvement support information including the evaluation result for that item is displayed on the battery replacement device.

[0042] According to this, similar to the first invention, an evaluation is performed on a plurality of items related to the user's driving of the electric vehicle, and the items to be presented to the user are narrowed down based on the evaluation results, thereby making it possible to present to the user information that is expected to lead to effective improvement in a short time and in an efficient manner.

[0043] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0044] First Embodiment FIG. 1 is a diagram showing the overall configuration of a battery sharing system according to a first embodiment.

[0045] The battery sharing system (battery management system or battery exchange system) provides a service (battery exchange service) in which multiple users share a battery pack 2 (battery device) installed in an electric vehicle 1 (electric mobile body) such as an electric motorcycle, and is equipped with a battery exchange machine 3 (battery exchange device) and a management server 4 (server device or battery exchange management device).

[0046] The battery exchange machine 3 and the management server 4 are connected via a network such as the Internet. The battery exchange machine 3 may also be connected to the network via wireless communication such as a mobile communication network or a wireless LAN.

[0047] The electric vehicle 1 is equipped with a battery pack 2 and runs on the power of the battery pack 2. In the example shown in Fig. 1, the electric vehicle 1 is a two-wheeled motorcycle, but it may also be a three- or four-wheeled vehicle. It may also be an electric wheelchair, an electric cart, or a riding cart for theme parks, golf courses, etc., which are mobility devices that are not intended to be driven on roads.

[0048] The battery exchange machine 3 receives and charges the battery pack 2 returned by the user, and also lends the user a replacement battery pack 2. The battery exchange machine 3 is installed in a battery station attached to a facility (store) such as a convenience store or a gas station.

[0049] The management server 4 registers as users (members) people who subscribe to the battery exchange service and use battery packs 2, and manages the battery packs 2 by linking them with the users to whom they are rented. The management server 4 also manages the exchange of battery packs 2 at the battery exchange machine 3. The management server 4 also monitors the charge state of the battery packs 2 housed in the battery exchange machine 3. The management server 4 also performs face authentication (face matching) to identify users who come to exchange batteries.

[0050] Furthermore, the management server 4 evaluates the degree to which predetermined standards have been met for items related to the user's driving of the electric vehicle 1, specifically, for each of the items of driving distance, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden accelerations and decelerations, based on the driving history information obtained by accumulating driving information output from the electric vehicle 1, and based on the evaluation results, generates information (improvement support information) necessary to encourage the user to make improvements regarding the user's driving of the electric vehicle 1, and presents the improvement support information to the user.

[0051] The management server 4 performs processes related to user management, processes related to the replacement and charging status of the battery pack 2, processes related to facial authentication, and processes related to evaluation of the user's driving of the electric vehicle 1, but these processes may be shared among multiple servers.

[0052] In addition, in this embodiment, facial authentication is performed as user authentication to identify a user who has come to replace a battery, but the user authentication may be biometric authentication other than facial authentication, or may be card authentication using an IC card, etc.

[0053] Next, a description will be given of the general configuration of the electric vehicle 1 and the battery pack 2 according to the first embodiment. FIG.

[0054] The electric vehicle 1 includes a travel controller 11 and an input / output unit 12 .

[0055] The traveling controller 11 controls the traveling of the electric vehicle 1. The traveling controller 11 outputs traveling information that indicates the traveling status of the electric vehicle 1. The traveling information includes information detected by various sensors mounted on the electric vehicle 1, such as traveling speed, acceleration / deceleration, and power consumption.

[0056] The input / output unit 12 inputs and outputs information to and from the battery pack 2. Specifically, the driving information output from the driving controller 11 is output to the battery pack 2.

[0057] The battery pack 2 includes an input / output unit 21 , a storage unit 22 , and a processor 23 .

[0058] The input / output unit 21 inputs and outputs information to and from the electric vehicle 1. Specifically, traveling information is input from the electric vehicle 1.

[0059] The storage unit 22 stores programs to be executed by the processor 23. The storage unit 22 also stores the travel distance, electricity consumption, number of sudden accelerations and decelerations, and remaining charge amount acquired by the processor 23 as travel history information.

[0060] The processor 23 performs various processes by executing the programs stored in the storage unit 22. In this embodiment, the processor 23 performs a driving history recording process and the like.

[0061] In the driving history recording process, the processor 23 generates driving history information based on driving information acquired from the electric vehicle 1 and stores the driving history information in the storage unit 22 .

[0062] Specifically, the processor 23 calculates the travel distance from the travel speed included in the travel information acquired from the electric vehicle 1. The processor 23 also determines sudden acceleration / deceleration from the acceleration / deceleration included in the travel information and counts the number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events. The processor 23 also calculates the electricity consumption from the power consumption and travel distance included in the travel information. The electricity consumption represents the travel distance per unit capacity of the battery pack 2. The processor 23 also stores the travel distance, electricity consumption, the number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events, and the remaining charge in the memory unit 22 as travel history information.

[0063] In addition, the driving history recording process starts when the fully charged battery pack 2 loaned to the user at the battery exchange machine 3 is installed in the vehicle, and ends when the user removes the battery pack 2 from the electric vehicle 1 for battery replacement.

[0064] The driving history recording process may be performed in the electric vehicle 1. In this case, for example, when the user removes the battery pack 2 from the electric vehicle 1 to replace the battery, the driving history information held in the electric vehicle 1 is output to the battery pack 2, and the driving history information is stored in the storage unit 22.

[0065] Next, a description will be given of the general configuration of the battery exchange machine 3 according to the first embodiment. FIG.

[0066] The battery exchange machine 3 includes a camera 31 , a sensor 32 , a drive unit 33 , a charging unit 34 , an input / output unit 35 , a touch panel display 36 , a communication unit 37 , a memory unit 38 , and a processor 39 .

[0067] The camera 31 photographs a person (visitor) who has come to exchange a battery, that is, a person who wishes to exchange a battery at the battery exchange machine 3 .

[0068] The sensor 32 is configured by, for example, a human presence sensor, and detects a person who has come to replace the battery.

[0069] In response to instructions from the processor 39, the drive unit 33 drives a locking mechanism provided on the tray 51 at the timing of returning or lending the battery pack 2 to fix the returned battery pack 2 to the tray 51, and also unlocks the battery pack 2 to be lent to the user so that the user can remove the battery pack 2.

[0070] The charging unit 34 charges the battery pack 2 via a tray 51 on which the battery pack 2 is attached.

[0071] The input / output unit 35 inputs and outputs information to and from the battery pack 2. Specifically, driving history information stored in the battery pack 2 is input from the battery pack 2. The driving history information includes, for example, the driving distance, the electricity consumption, the remaining charge, and the number of sudden accelerations and decelerations.

[0072] The touch panel display 36 displays a guide screen regarding replacement of the battery pack 2 and detects user operation inputs.

[0073] The communication unit 37 communicates with the management server 4 via the network.

[0074] The storage unit 38 stores programs executed by the processor 39 and the like.

[0075] The processor 39 performs various processes by executing programs stored in the storage unit 38. In this embodiment, the processor 39 performs battery monitoring process, return / lending control process, face image acquisition process, battery information acquisition process, verification request process, GUI control process, and the like.

[0076] In the battery monitoring process, the processor 39 monitors the charge state and empty state of the battery packs 2 attached to each tray 51 and reports the information to the management server 4. This enables the management server 4 to manage the charge state and empty state of the battery packs 2 in the battery exchange machine 3.

[0077] In the return / lending control process, the processor 39 controls the return and lending operations of the battery pack 2. Specifically, when the user returns the battery pack 2, i.e., when the user mounts the battery pack 2 on the tray 51, the processor 39 controls the drive unit 33 to lock the locking mechanism provided on the tray 51. Furthermore, when an exchange permission notification is received from the management server 4, the processor 39 controls the drive unit 33 to unlock the locking mechanism of the tray 51 mounted with the battery pack 2 to be lent to the user, so that the user can receive the battery pack 2 to be lent to the user.

[0078] In the facial image acquisition process, the processor 39 detects a person's face from the image captured by the camera 31 (face detection), cuts out the facial area from the captured image (face cut-out), and acquires the subject's facial image (facial image for authentication).

[0079] In the battery information acquisition process, the processor 39 acquires the model number (model identification information) from the returned battery pack 2 via the input / output unit 35 .

[0080] In the matching request process, the processor 39 sends a face matching request from the communication unit 37 to the management server 4. The face matching request includes a facial image of the visitor. The processor 39 also sends a battery matching request from the communication unit 37 to the management server 4. The battery matching request includes the model number of the battery pack 2.

[0081] In the GUI control process, the processor 39 displays a guide screen relating to battery replacement, which is delivered from the management server 4, on the touch panel display 36, and also acquires operation input information corresponding to the operation input by the user.

[0082] Next, a description will be given of the general configuration of the management server 4 according to the first embodiment. FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing the general configuration of the management server 4.

[0083] The management server 4 includes a communication unit 41 , a storage unit 42 , and a processor 43 .

[0084] The communication unit 41 communicates with the battery exchange machine 3 via the network.

[0085] The storage unit 42 stores programs executed by the processor 43. The storage unit 42 also stores driving history information (see FIG. 6) of each user.

[0086] The processor 43 performs various processes by executing a program (e.g., a battery replacement management program) stored in the storage unit 42. In this embodiment, the processor 43 performs facial feature extraction processing, face matching processing, battery matching processing, battery replacement control processing, standard setting processing, driving history acquisition processing, standard achievement evaluation processing, priority item selection processing, score calculation processing, recommended replacement location selection processing, and screen control processing. At least some of these various processes are included in the battery replacement management method executed by the management server 4.

[0087] In the facial feature extraction process, the processor 43 extracts facial feature information from the visitor's facial image acquired from the battery exchange machine 3 .

[0088] In the face matching process, the processor 43 compares the visitor's facial feature information acquired in the facial feature extraction process with the facial feature information registered in the user management table when the battery is replaced, and determines whether the visitor is a legitimate user.

[0089] In the battery verification process, the processor 43 determines whether the battery pack 2 returned by the user to the battery exchange machine 3 is an eligible product (compatible product) for the battery exchange service.

[0090] In the battery replacement control process, the processor 43 determines whether or not battery replacement is permitted, and notifies the battery replacement machine 3 of the determination result, i.e., whether or not battery replacement is permitted. Specifically, if the face matching process determines that the visitor is an authorized user, and if the battery matching process determines that the battery pack 2 returned by the user is an eligible item for the battery replacement service, an replacement permission notice permitting battery replacement is sent from the communication unit 41 to the battery replacement machine 3. Furthermore, if it is determined that the visitor is not an authorized user, or if it is determined that the battery pack 2 returned by the user is different from the battery pack 2 currently on loan to the user, an replacement denial notice prohibiting battery replacement is sent from the communication unit 41 to the battery replacement machine 3.

[0091] In the standard setting process, the processor 43 sets a standard value for each item. The standard value may be set based on the performance values of all users. For example, the average of the performance values of all users may be set as the standard value. The standard value may also be set based on the performance values of all users in a target area. For example, the average of the performance values of all users in a target area may be set as the standard value. The standard value may also be set based on the performance values of all users belonging to a specific user group (such as a company). For example, the average of the performance values of all users in the user group may be set as the standard value. The standard value may also be specified by an administrator or the user themselves.

[0092] In the driving history acquisition process, the processor 43 acquires the driving history information (see FIG. 5 ) stored in the battery pack 2 via the battery exchange machine 3 to which the battery pack 2 has been returned. The driving history information includes, for example, current actual values for each of the following items: driving distance, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration / deceleration. Note that the items included in the driving history information are not limited to the driving distance, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration / deceleration.

[0093] In the standard achievement evaluation process, processor 43 evaluates the achievement status of the standard for each item (e.g., mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden accelerations and decelerations) included in the driving history information based on the current actual value for each item. Specifically, processor 43 compares the current actual value for each item with a standard value, and evaluates for each item whether the standard has been achieved depending on whether the current actual value is equal to or greater than the standard value.

[0094] In the priority item selection process, the processor 43 selects a predetermined number of priority items whose evaluation results are to be presented to the user. Specifically, the processor 43 compares the current performance value for each item with a reference value, obtains an evaluation value for each item that represents the magnitude of the deviation from the reference value, i.e., the magnitude of the difference between the current performance value and the reference value, and compares the evaluation values for each item to select a priority item. Specifically, in a setting where one priority item is selected, the item with the greatest deviation from the reference value is selected as the priority item. On the other hand, in a setting where multiple priority items are selected, the priority is set in descending order of deviation from the reference value, i.e., the largest difference between the current performance value and the reference value, and a predetermined number of items are selected as priority items in descending order of priority. Note that the number of items selected as priority items may be preset or may be specified by the user or administrator.

[0095] Incidentally, since the values of each item (e.g., mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden accelerations and decelerations) are in different units, the values of each item cannot be directly compared with each other. Therefore, in this embodiment, as described above, an evaluation value indicating the magnitude of the difference from the standard is calculated for each item, and the evaluation values for each item are compared. In this case, for example, a conversion table may be used to convert the values of each item into numerical values in common units or unitless level values. The conversion table may be stored in the storage unit 42 of the management server 4.

[0096] In the score calculation process, processor 43 calculates a score (total score) that comprehensively evaluates all items (e.g., mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration / deceleration). Specifically, for example, the average of the performance values of highly rated users is set as the deduction standard value, and if the performance value of the target user is equal to or greater than the deduction standard value, no deduction is made, and if the performance value of the target user is less than the deduction standard value, a deduction amount corresponding to the difference between the target user's performance value and the deduction standard value is made. Note that the target items are not limited to mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration / deceleration.

[0097] Alternatively, the average of the performance values of highly rated users may be set as the first deduction reference value, the average of the performance values of all users may be set as the second deduction reference value, and the first deduction width when the performance value of the target user is less than the first deduction reference value and the second deduction width when the performance value of the target user is less than the second deduction reference value may be set to different values. For example, the second deduction width may be set to be larger than the first deduction width.

[0098] In addition, the calculation of the total score may be performed when individual evaluation of items for which the standards have not been met is not necessary, i.e., when there are no items for which the standards have not been met and the standards have been met for all items.

[0099] In the recommended replacement location selection process, the processor 43 selects a battery station that is recommended as a battery replacement location. Specifically, a battery station that is located near the battery station currently in use by the user and within a range reachable by the electric vehicle 1 is selected based on the remaining charge and electricity cost when the battery pack 2 is returned. By shifting the timing of the battery replacement, it is possible to perform the battery replacement when the remaining charge of the battery pack 2 is close to the lower limit.

[0100] The recommended replacement location selection process may take into consideration the normal driving route (driving area) of the electric vehicle 1. In this case, information about the driving route of the electric vehicle 1 may be stored in the battery pack 2 as driving history information.

[0101] In the screen control process, the processor 43 controls the screen to be displayed on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3. Specifically, for example, display information for an improvement support screen 501 (see FIG. 8 , etc.) that presents improvement support information including the evaluation results to the user is generated, and the improvement support screen 501 is displayed on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3. At this time, if one priority item is selected, the improvement support screen 501 related to that item is displayed, and if multiple priority items are selected, multiple improvement support screens 501 are displayed in descending order of priority.

[0102] Next, we will explain the driving history information transferred from the battery pack 2 according to the first embodiment to the management server 4 via the battery exchange machine 3. Figure 5 is an explanatory diagram showing the driving history information transferred from the battery pack 2 to the management server 4.

[0103] Current actual values for each item, such as mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events, are stored as driving history information in the battery pack 2. When the battery pack 2 is returned to the battery exchange machine 3, the driving history information stored in the battery pack 2 is output from the battery pack 2 to the battery exchange machine 3, and is further transmitted from the battery exchange machine 3 to the management server 4. Note that the battery pack 2 may store actual values for items other than mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events as driving history information.

[0104] In this case, the travel distance included in the travel history information represents the distance traveled by the electric vehicle 1 from when the battery pack 2 is rented until when it is returned. The electricity consumption represents the average value from when the battery pack 2 is rented until when it is returned. The remaining charge represents the remaining charge when the battery pack 2 is returned. The number of sudden accelerations and decelerations represents the number of sudden accelerations and decelerations that occurred in the electric vehicle 1 from when the battery pack 2 was rented until when it was returned.

[0105] In this embodiment, the driving history information, i.e., the current actual values for each of the items such as driving distance, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden accelerations and decelerations, is transmitted from the battery pack 2 to the management server 4 via the battery exchange machine 3, but the driving history information may also be transmitted from the battery pack 2 to the management server 4 via a user terminal such as a smartphone that is carried by the user and performs mobile communication. In this case, the driving history information may be transmitted from the battery pack 2 to the user terminal by performing short-range wireless communication such as Bluetooth (registered trademark) between the user terminal and the battery pack 2.

[0106] It is also possible for the electric vehicle 1 to be equipped with mobile communication capabilities and to communicate with the management server 4. In this case, the driving history is recorded in the electric vehicle 1, and the driving history information stored in the electric vehicle 1 may be transmitted to the management server 4 without going through the battery pack 2.

[0107] Next, a description will be given of the driving history information managed by the management server 4 according to the first embodiment. FIG.

[0108] The management server 4 manages the driving history information of each user. Specifically, the driving history information for each user includes values for each item, such as distance traveled, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events. For the distance traveled item, a cumulative value, an average value, and a previous actual value are managed. For the electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events, an average value and a previous actual value are managed.

[0109] The management server 4 also manages overall averages for each of the following items: mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden accelerations and decelerations. The overall averages may be calculated by averaging the values of all target users collected over a predetermined period in the past.

[0110] Current driving history information for each user, i.e., driving history information for the period from when the battery pack 2 is loaned to when it is returned, is transmitted from the battery pack 2 to the management server 4 via the battery exchange machine 3 when the battery pack 2 is returned to the battery exchange machine 3, and the driving history information managed by the management server 4 is updated based on the current driving history information for each user.

[0111] Next, the screens displayed on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 according to the first embodiment will be described. Fig. 7 is an explanatory diagram showing the transition status of the screen. Fig. 8 is an explanatory diagram showing an example of an improvement support screen 501.

[0112] 7, in the battery exchange machine 3, a guide screen regarding replacement of the battery pack 2 is displayed on the touch panel display 36. The guide screen is provided with a first display area 111 and a second display area 112.

[0113] The battery exchange machine 3 first displays a standby screen 101 (initial screen) shown in Fig. 7(A). When a person standing in front of the battery exchange machine 3 is photographed by the camera 31 of the battery exchange machine 3, the management server 4 starts a process (face matching) to determine whether the visitor is a legitimate user. At this time, the battery exchange machine 3 transitions from the standby screen 101 (see Fig. 7(A)) to an authentication in progress screen 201 shown in Fig. 7(B).

[0114] On the authentication in progress screen 201 (see FIG. 7(B)), a facial image of the user is displayed in the first display area 111. Furthermore, characters and figures indicating that facial authentication (face matching) of the user is in progress are displayed in the second display area 112. When the facial authentication performed by the management server 4 is completed (successful), the battery exchange machine 3 transitions to an authentication completion screen 301 shown in FIG. 7(C).

[0115] On the authentication completion screen 301 (see FIG. 7C), text and graphics indicating that the user's face authentication has been completed (successful) are displayed in the second display area 112. Next, the screen transitions to a battery replacement guidance screen 401 shown in FIG. 8D.

[0116] On the battery replacement guidance screen 401 (see FIG. 7(D)), the authentication result, i.e., the name of the user identified by facial authentication, is displayed in the first display area 111. Also, the second display area 112 displays text urging the user to confirm the authentication result, i.e., the name of the user identified by facial authentication, and text urging the user to perform the battery replacement work.

[0117] Here, when the user removes the battery pack 2 from the electric vehicle 1 and returns it to the battery exchange machine 3 as part of the battery exchange work, the screen transitions to an improvement support screen 501 (see FIGS. 8(A), (B-1), and (B-2)) as shown in FIG. 7(E). Next, when the user performs a confirmation completion operation on the improvement support screen 501, the screen transitions to a battery exchange completion screen 601 as shown in FIG. 7(F). At this time, the battery exchange machine 3 performs an operation to lend the replacement battery pack 2 to the user. The user receives the replacement battery pack 2 lent from the battery exchange machine 3 and installs it in the electric vehicle 1.

[0118] As shown in FIGS. 8(A), (B-1), and (B-2), the improvement support screen 501 displays in the second display area 112 the current evaluation result, that is, the evaluation result regarding the driving of the electric vehicle 1 by the user from the time the battery pack 2 was loaned out in the previous battery exchange until the time the battery pack 2 was returned in the current battery exchange.

[0119] The example shown in Fig. 8A is a case where the standard is not achieved for one item, specifically, the electricity consumption item.

[0120] In this case, the name of the item for which the standard has not been achieved, characters 121 indicating the current performance value for that item, a face mark 122 which is an image showing the pass / fail of the evaluation result with a person's facial expression, and characters 123 indicating the evaluation result are displayed in second display area 112. Specifically, face mark 122 with an expression indicating that the evaluation result is not good is displayed, and characters 123 explaining points for improvement regarding the user's driving method are also displayed.

[0121] Additionally, a "Confirmation Complete" button 124 is provided in the second display area 112. When the user operates the "Confirmation Complete" button 124, the lending operation of the battery pack 2 starts.

[0122] The examples shown in Figures 8 (B-1) and (B-2) are cases where the criteria are not met for two items, or where the criteria are not met for three or more items, and two of them are selected as priority items for presenting the evaluation results to the user. Specifically, these are cases where the criteria are not met for the items of electricity fuel economy and the number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events. In addition, because the difference between the electricity fuel economy and the criteria is greater than the number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events, the electricity fuel economy item has a higher priority than the number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events.

[0123] In this case, two improvement support screens 501 are displayed sequentially. The first improvement support screen 501 shown in Fig. 8 (B-1) displays the evaluation results for the item of electricity consumption, which has a high priority, in the second display area 112. The second improvement support screen 501 shown in Fig. 8 (B-2) displays the evaluation results for the item of the number of sudden accelerations and decelerations, which has a low priority.

[0124] In the first improvement support screen 501 and the second improvement support screen 501, the name of the item for which the standard has not been achieved, characters 121 indicating the current performance value for that item, a face mark 122 which is an image showing the pass / fail of the evaluation result with a person's facial expression, and characters 123 indicating the evaluation result are displayed in the second display area 112. Specifically, the face mark 122 with an expression indicating that the evaluation result is not good is displayed, and characters 123 explaining points for improvement regarding the user's driving method are also displayed.

[0125] Furthermore, the first improvement support screen 501 has a "Next" button 125 provided in the second display area 112. When the user operates the "Next" button 125, the screen transitions to the second improvement support screen 501 shown in Fig. 8 (B-2). On the other hand, the second improvement support screen 501 has a "Confirmation Complete" button 124 provided in the second display area 112. When the user operates the "Confirmation Complete" button 124, the lending operation of the battery pack 2 starts.

[0126] Furthermore, the first improvement support screen 501 for a high-priority item and the second improvement support screen 501 for a low-priority item have different display formats. In the examples shown in FIGS. 8(B-1) and 8(B-2), the background color of the second display area 112 is different between the first improvement support screen 501 and the second improvement support screen 501. Note that the frame color of the entire improvement support screen 501 or the frame color of the second display area 112 may be different between the first improvement support screen 501 and the second improvement support screen 501. This allows the user to easily understand that evaluation results for different items are presented, thereby increasing the user's interest in the evaluation results.

[0127] Next, another example of the improvement support screen 501 displayed on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 according to the first embodiment will be described. Figures 9, 10, and 11 are explanatory diagrams showing another example of the improvement support screen 501.

[0128] The example shown in FIG. 9 is a case where there is no item for which the standard has not been met, that is, a case where the standard has been met for all items.

[0129] In this case, characters 126 indicating a score (total score) integrating the evaluation results for all items, face mark 122 which is an image showing the quality of the evaluation result with a person's facial expression, and characters 123 indicating the evaluation result are displayed in second display area 112. Specifically, face mark 122 with an expression showing that the evaluation result is good is displayed, and characters indicating that the evaluation result is good are also displayed.

[0130] 10 shows an example in which the display form of the improvement support screen 501 changes in various ways depending on the evaluation results. Such changes in the display form allow the evaluation results to be visualized in an easy-to-understand manner for the user, allowing the user to intuitively understand the evaluation results. Note that how the display form changes depending on the evaluation results may be set in advance, or may be specified by the user or administrator.

[0131] Specifically, the background color of the second display area 112 changes according to the total score, i.e., the score obtained by integrating the evaluation results for all items. In addition, the total score is compared with two predetermined thresholds to classify the evaluation results into three levels, and the background of the second display area 112 is displayed in a predetermined color according to the level.

[0132] For example, assuming that the total score is 100, and the maximum score is 100, if the total score is less than 40 and the evaluation result is not good, the background of the second display area 112 is displayed in red, as shown in Figures 10(A) and 10(D). Also, if the total score is less than 60 but equal to or greater than 40 and the evaluation result is normal, the background of the second display area 112 is displayed in yellow, as shown in Figures 10(B) and 10(E). Also, if the total score is 60 or greater and the evaluation result is good, the background of the second display area 112 is displayed in blue, as shown in Figures 10(C) and 10(F).

[0133] In this example, a face mark 122, which is an image showing the quality of the evaluation result with the facial expression of a person, changes depending on the quality of the evaluation result. Specifically, the facial expression of the face mark 122 changes depending on the total score. In addition, the total score is compared with a predetermined threshold value, and the evaluation result is divided into three levels, and the face mark 122 with an expression corresponding to the level is displayed.

[0134] For example, as shown in Figures 10(A) and 10(D), if the evaluation result is not good, a sad-looking face mark 122 is displayed. As shown in Figures 10(B) and 10(E), if the evaluation result is normal, a dissatisfied face mark 122 is displayed. As shown in Figures 10(C) and 10(F), if the evaluation result is good, a smiling face mark 122 is displayed.

[0135] 10(D), (E), and (F), a character 126 is displayed indicating the total score (a score that integrates the evaluation results for all items), which influences the display format of the improvement support screen 501. On the other hand, in the examples shown in FIGS. 10(A) and (B), the names of the items for which the standards have not been met and a character 121 indicating the current performance values for those items are displayed, but the total score is not displayed. Also, in the example shown in FIG. 10(C), similar to the examples shown in FIGS. 10(A) and (B), the total score is not displayed, and since there are no items for which the standards have not been met, the character 121 is not displayed.

[0136] In addition to the total score, the evaluation results may be classified into levels based on the determination result of whether or not there are any items for which the standards have not been met. For example, if there is even one item for which the standards have not been met, the evaluation result is classified as a poor level; if there are no items for which the standards have not been met but the total score is not particularly high, the evaluation result is classified as a standard level; and if there are no items for which the standards have not been met and the total score is high, the evaluation result is classified as a good level.

[0137] The example shown in FIG. 11 is a case where battery stations recommended as battery exchange locations are presented to the user.

[0138] In this case, as shown in FIG. 11A, on the improvement support screen 501, in the second display area 112, characters 131 suggesting the use of a recommended battery station as a battery exchange location are displayed.

[0139] 11(B), a guide map 132 and text 133 recommending the use of the battery station shown on the guide map 132 are displayed in the second display area 112. On the guide map 132, a pin 136 indicating the location of a battery station recommended as a battery exchange location and an electric vehicle icon 137 indicating the current location of the electric vehicle 1 are superimposed on a map 135 showing the area around the current location.

[0140] 11(A), a "Next" button 125 is provided in the second display area 112. When the user operates the "Next" button 125, the screen transitions to a replacement location information screen 521 shown in FIG. 11(B). On the other hand, on the replacement location information screen 521 shown in FIG. 11(B), a "Confirmation Complete" button 124 is provided in the second display area 112. When the user operates the "Confirmation Complete" button 124, the lending operation of the battery pack 2 is started.

[0141] In this embodiment, battery stations recommended as battery replacement locations (recommended replacement locations) are presented to the user, but the presentation of these recommended replacement locations is performed when predetermined conditions are met. Specifically, for example, the recommended replacement location may be presented when the remaining charge of the battery pack 2 is the item with the largest gap from the standard and is therefore set as the item of interest. Alternatively, the recommended replacement location may be presented when the standards are met for all items, i.e., when there are no overall problems.

[0142] Next, an operation procedure of the battery exchange machine 3 and the management server 4 according to the first embodiment when exchanging a battery will be described. Fig. 12 is a sequence diagram showing the operation procedure of the battery exchange machine 3 and the management server 4 when exchanging a battery.

[0143] The battery exchange machine 3 first displays a standby screen 101 (see FIG. 7A). Next, when the battery exchange machine 3 detects the approach of a person, it photographs the face of the person (visitor) and acquires a facial image of the visitor (facial image acquisition process). Next, the battery exchange machine 3 transmits the facial image of the visitor to the management server 4 and displays an authentication in progress screen 201 (see FIG. 7B).

[0144] Next, when the management server 4 receives the visitor's facial image from the battery exchange machine 3, it extracts facial feature information from the visitor's facial image (facial feature extraction process), compares the visitor's facial feature information with the facial feature information registered in the user management table, and determines whether the visitor is a legitimate user (facial matching process). Next, the management server 4 transmits the facial matching result to the battery exchange machine 3.

[0145] Next, when the battery exchange machine 3 receives the face matching result from the management server 4, it displays the authentication completion screen 301 (see FIG. 7C) and the battery exchange guide screen 401 (see FIG. 7D).

[0146] Here, the user removes the battery pack 2 from the electric vehicle 1 and returns it to the battery exchange machine 3. At this time, the battery exchange machine 3 performs a battery collection operation, i.e., locks the locking mechanism of the tray 51 on which the user has attached the battery pack 2. Next, the battery exchange machine 3 transmits a battery return notification to the management server 4. The battery return notification includes the model number (model identification information) and driving history information acquired from the collected battery pack 2.

[0147] Next, when the management server 4 receives a battery return notification from the battery exchange machine 3, it determines whether the returned battery pack 2 is an eligible product (compatible product) for the battery exchange service based on the model number of the battery pack 2 contained in the battery return notification (battery matching process).

[0148] Next, the management server 4 acquires the driving history information included in the battery return notification (driving history acquisition process) and evaluates the achievement status of the criteria for each item based on the driving history information (criteria achievement evaluation process). Next, the management server 4 selects priority items for presenting the evaluation results to the user (priority item selection process). Next, the management server 4 generates screen information for the improvement support screen 501 based on the evaluation results of the achievement status of the criteria for each item and the selection results of the priority items, and transmits the screen information to the battery exchange machine 3.

[0149] Next, the battery exchange machine 3 displays an improvement support screen 501 (see FIG. 8 , etc.) on the touch panel display 36. Here, when the user views the improvement support screen 501 and performs an operation to complete the confirmation, the battery exchange machine 3 accepts the operation input and transmits the operation input information to the management server 4.

[0150] Next, in response to the user's operation to complete the confirmation, the management server 4 selects a battery pack 2 to be rented to the user from among the battery packs 2 housed in the battery exchange machine 3 (replacement battery selection). Next, the management server 4 transmits a battery rental notification to the battery exchange machine 3.

[0151] Next, when the battery exchange machine 3 receives the battery rental notification from the management server 4, it performs a battery rental operation, i.e., unlocks the lock mechanism provided on the tray 51 so that the user can receive the replacement battery pack 2. The battery exchange machine 3 also displays a battery replacement completion screen 601 (see FIG. 7(F)). At this time, the user receives the replacement battery pack 2 rented from the battery exchange machine 3 and installs it in the electric vehicle 1.

[0152] In this manner, in this embodiment, when the battery pack 2 is returned, improvement support information including the evaluation result is presented to the user. Specifically, the improvement support screen 501 is displayed. Then, when the user views the improvement support screen 501 and performs an operation to complete the confirmation, the battery pack 2 is rented out.

[0153] Here, assuming that the improvement support screen 501 is displayed on a user terminal such as a smartphone, the user can view the improvement support screen 501 at any time, but on the other hand, it is conceivable that the user will leave the improvement support screen 501 without viewing it. On the other hand, in this embodiment, the battery pack 2 will not be loaned out unless the user views the improvement support screen 501 and performs an operation to complete the confirmation, so the user is almost forced to view the improvement support screen 501. This makes it possible to reliably convey improvement support information to the user.

[0154] Next, a procedure of processing performed by the management server 4 according to the first embodiment will be described. FIG. 13 is a flowchart showing the procedure of processing performed by the management server 4.

[0155] In the management server 4, first, the processor 43 acquires the driving history information stored in the returned battery pack 2 via the battery exchange machine 3 (ST101).

[0156] Next, the processor 43 evaluates the degree of standard achievement for each item of the driving history information (standard achievement evaluation process) (ST102). Specifically, the current actual value is compared with the standard value, and if the current actual value is equal to or greater than the standard value, it is evaluated that the standard has been achieved.

[0157] Next, the processor 43 determines whether there is any item for which the criteria have not been met (ST103).

[0158] If there is an item for which the standard has not been achieved (Yes in ST103), the processor 43 then determines whether there are two or more items for which the standard has not been achieved (ST104).

[0159] Here, if there are two or more items for which the criteria have not been met (Yes in ST104), the processor 43 then selects a predetermined number of priority items from among the items for which the criteria have not been met, and presents the evaluation results to the user (priority item selection process) (ST105).

[0160] Next, the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 501 (see FIG. 8 ) including the evaluation results for the selected priority item on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control process) (ST106). At this time, if multiple priority items are selected, the improvement support screen 501 for each item is displayed in descending order of priority. Furthermore, the improvement support screen 501 for each of the multiple items is displayed in a different display format depending on the priority level.

[0161] On the other hand, if there is only one item for which the standard has not been met (No in ST104), the processor 43 then displays an improvement support screen 501 containing the evaluation results for the item for which the standard has not been met on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control processing) (ST107).

[0162] Furthermore, if there are no items for which the criteria have not been met (No in ST103), the processor 43 then displays an improvement support screen 501 (see Figure 9) including the overall evaluation results on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control processing) (ST108).

[0163] Second Embodiment Next, a second embodiment will be described. It should be noted that the points not specifically mentioned here are the same as those of the previous embodiment. Fig. 14 is a block diagram showing a schematic configuration of a management server 4 according to the second embodiment.

[0164] In this embodiment, when replacing the battery, for example, among the items of mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration and deceleration, an item that is significantly different from a standard is set as a target item, a target is set for the target item separately from the standard, the progress of achieving the target is evaluated at the next battery replacement, and the evaluation result for the target is presented to the user separately from the evaluation result for the standard. Note that, as in the first embodiment, the target items are not limited to mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden acceleration and deceleration.

[0165] The management server 4, like the first embodiment (see FIG. 4 ), includes a communication unit 41, a storage unit 42, and a processor 43. As in the first embodiment, the processor 43 performs facial feature extraction processing, face matching processing, battery matching processing, battery replacement control processing, standard setting processing, driving history acquisition processing, standard achievement evaluation processing, priority item selection processing, score calculation processing, recommended replacement location selection processing, and screen control processing. Meanwhile, in this embodiment, the processor 43 also performs attention item setting processing, goal setting processing, goal achievement evaluation processing, and reward processing.

[0166] In the target item setting process, the processor 43 sets a target item from among items such as mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden accelerations and decelerations, for which a target is set and the achievement status of the target is evaluated at the next battery exchange. Specifically, if there are multiple items for which the standard has not been achieved, the item with the greatest gap from the standard, i.e., the item with the largest difference between the current actual value and the standard value, is set as the target item. On the other hand, if there is one item for which the standard has not been achieved, that item is set as the target item.

[0167] In this embodiment, one focus item is set in order to reduce the number of pages displayed on the improvement support screen 551 and shorten the user's screen viewing time, but two or more focus items may be set.

[0168] In the goal setting process, the processor 43 sets a target value for the target item. The target value may be set based on the user's performance value. This sets a target value that is suitable for the user. The target value may also be set based on the performance values of all users in the target area. This sets a target value that takes into account the characteristics of the area. The target value may also be set lower than the reference value.

[0169] In the target achievement evaluation process, processor 43 evaluates the achievement status of the target for the target item based on the current actual value for the target item among the current actual values for each item included in the driving history information (e.g., mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden accelerations and decelerations). Specifically, the current actual value for the target item is compared with the target value, and whether the target for the target item has been achieved is evaluated depending on whether the current actual value is equal to or greater than the target value.

[0170] In the reward process, the processor 43 gives a predetermined reward to the user when a goal is achieved for the target item. For example, a predetermined number of points may be given to the user as a reward.

[0171] It should be noted that goals related to the focus items can be set from various perspectives, and rewards can also be set from various perspectives. For example, a battery exchange service provider can set goals and corresponding rewards from the perspective of business management or environmental protection. Furthermore, a delivery service provider using electric vehicles 1 can set goals and corresponding rewards from the perspective of improving service to customers, in addition to the perspectives of business management and environmental protection. In this case, the user to whom the reward is given is a delivery person.

[0172] In the score calculation process, the processor 43 calculates a score (total score) that comprehensively evaluates a plurality of items, as in the first embodiment. On the other hand, in the present embodiment, the processor 43 calculates scores that individually evaluate the items of interest in addition to the total score.

[0173] In the screen control process, similarly to the first embodiment, the processor 43 generates display information for an improvement support screen 551 (see FIG. 17 ) that presents the evaluation results to the user, and displays the improvement support screen 551 on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3. On the other hand, in the present embodiment, in addition to the evaluation results regarding the criteria, the evaluation results regarding the targets are also displayed on the improvement support screen 551.

[0174] Next, a description will be given of the driving history information and target information transferred from the battery pack 2 according to the second embodiment to the management server 4 via the battery exchange machine 3. FIG. 15 is an explanatory diagram showing the driving history information and target information transferred from the battery pack 2 to the management server 4.

[0175] As in the first embodiment (see FIG. 5 ), the battery pack 2 stores driving history information, i.e., current actual values for each of the items, such as the driving distance, the electricity consumption, the remaining charge, and the number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events. On the other hand, in this embodiment, in addition to the driving history information, target information set when the battery pack 2 was rented, i.e., target values for each of the items, such as the driving distance, the electricity consumption, the remaining charge, and the number of sudden acceleration / deceleration events, is also stored.

[0176] The target value for each item is set in the management server 4, and when the battery pack 2 is rented out, it is transferred to the battery pack 2 via the battery exchange machine 3 and stored in the battery pack 2. In addition, when the battery pack 2 is returned, the target value for each item is output together with the driving history information (the current actual value of each item) and transferred to the management server 4 via the battery exchange machine 3.

[0177] In the present embodiment, target information, i.e., target values for each item such as mileage, electricity consumption, remaining charge, and number of sudden accelerations and decelerations, is stored in the battery pack 2, but the target information may be managed by the management server 4, and only driving history information (current actual values for each item) may be stored in the battery pack 2. Furthermore, previous actual values may be stored in addition to current actual values as driving history information for the user currently using the battery pack 2. Furthermore, target information may be stored in a user terminal such as a smartphone carried by the user for mobile communication.

[0178] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the management server 4 acquires the target information held in the battery pack 2 from the battery pack 2 via the battery exchange machine 3, but the target information held in the battery pack 2 may be transmitted to the management server 4 via a user terminal. In this case, the target information may be transmitted from the battery pack 2 to the user terminal by short-range wireless communication such as Bluetooth (registered trademark) between the user terminal and the battery pack 2.

[0179] Next, the screens displayed on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 according to the second embodiment will be described. Fig. 16 is an explanatory diagram showing the transition status of the screen. Fig. 17 is an explanatory diagram showing an improvement support screen 551.

[0180] The standby screen 101 shown in Figure 16 (A), the authentication in progress screen 201 shown in Figure 16 (B), and the authentication completion screen 301 shown in Figure 16 (C) are similar to the standby screen 101 (see Figure 7 (A)), the authentication in progress screen 201 (see Figure 7 (B)), and the authentication completion screen 301 (see Figure 7 (C)) in the first embodiment, respectively.

[0181] 16(D) , the authentication result, i.e., the name of the user identified by facial authentication, is displayed in the first display area 111. Also, the second display area 112 displays text prompting the user to confirm the authentication result, i.e., the name of the user identified by facial authentication, and text indicating the target item set at the time of the previous battery replacement and the target value for that target item.

[0182] On the battery replacement guidance screen 451 shown in FIG. 16(E), text urging the user to perform the battery replacement work is displayed in the second display area 112.

[0183] Here, when the user removes the battery pack 2 from the electric vehicle 1 and returns it to the battery exchange machine 3 as part of the battery exchange work, the screen transitions to an improvement support screen 551 (see FIGS. 17A and 17B) as shown in FIG. 16(F). Next, when the user performs a confirmation completion operation on the improvement support screen 551, the screen transitions to a battery exchange completion screen 601 as shown in FIG. 16(G). The battery exchange completion screen 601 is the same as the battery exchange completion screen 601 in the first embodiment (see FIG. 7(F)).

[0184] As shown in FIGS. 17A and 17B, the improvement support screen 551 displays in the second display area 112 the current evaluation result, that is, the evaluation result regarding the driving of the electric vehicle 1 by the user from the time the battery pack 2 was loaned out in the previous battery exchange until the time the battery pack 2 was returned in the current battery exchange.

[0185] The example shown in FIG. 17 is a case where the target has been achieved for the items of interest, but there are items for which the criteria have not been achieved.

[0186] In this case, two improvement support screens 551 are displayed in sequence. The first improvement support screen 551 shown in Fig. 17(A) displays an evaluation result indicating that the target has been achieved for the target item in the second display area 112. The second improvement support screen 551 shown in Fig. 17(B) displays an evaluation result for the item for which the standard has not been achieved.

[0187] 17(A), the second display area 112 displays characters 141 indicating that the goal for the focused item has been achieved, characters 142 indicating a score that quantifies the degree of goal achievement for the focused item, a face mark 143 indicating that the evaluation result for the focused item is good, and characters 144 indicating reward information for the focused item. The reward information is information regarding a reward to be given to the user when the goal for the focused item is achieved. In the example shown in FIG. 17(A), points are awarded as the reward.

[0188] The target value may be set lower than the standard value. Therefore, there may be cases where the target for a focus item has been achieved but the standard has not been achieved. Even in this case, reward information is displayed on the improvement support screen 551.

[0189] In the second improvement support screen 551 shown in Figure 17 (B), in the second display area 112, as in the first embodiment (see Figure 8 (B-2) etc.), the names of the items for which the standards have not been achieved, characters 121 indicating the current actual values for those items, face marks 122 which are images showing the pass / fail results of the evaluation results with a person's facial expression, and characters 123 explaining areas for improvement regarding the user's driving method are displayed, but here, characters 145 indicating the next target are also displayed.

[0190] At this time, the item for which the standard has not been achieved is set as a new item of interest, a target is set for the item of interest, and this new item of interest and target are displayed on the improvement support screen 551. In this example, the standard has not been achieved for the item of the number of sudden acceleration / decelerations, so the item of the number of sudden acceleration / decelerations is set as a new item of interest, and a target value (number of times) for the item of the number of sudden acceleration / decelerations is set.

[0191] Furthermore, the first improvement support screen 551 has a "Next" button 125 provided in the second display area 112. When the user operates the "Next" button 125, the screen transitions to the second improvement support screen 551 shown in FIG. 1 (B-2). On the other hand, the second improvement support screen 551 has a "Confirmation Complete" button 124 provided in the second display area 112. When the user operates the "Confirmation Complete" button 124, the lending operation of the battery pack 2 starts.

[0192] If there is no item for which the standard has not been met, the second improvement support screen 551 shown in FIG. 17(B) is not displayed.

[0193] Furthermore, even if there are multiple items for which the standard has not been achieved, if the item with the greatest gap from the standard is the item of interest, a single improvement support screen 551 may display a score that quantifies the degree of goal achievement for the item of interest, and text explaining areas for improvement regarding the user's driving method.

[0194] Furthermore, regardless of the evaluation results for the focus item, if there is an item that is farther from the standard than the focus item, that item is set as a new focus item, and the new focus item and the goals for that new focus item are displayed on the improvement support screen 551.

[0195] Next, the procedure of the process performed by the management server 4 according to the second embodiment will be described. Figures 18, 19, 20 and 21 are flowcharts showing the procedure of the process performed by the management server 4.

[0196] As shown in FIG. 18, in the management server 4, first, the processor 43 acquires the driving history information stored in the returned battery pack 2 via the battery exchange machine 3 (ST201).

[0197] Next, the processor 43 evaluates the achievement status of the goal and the achievement status of the standard for each item of the driving history information (goal achievement evaluation process, standard achievement evaluation process) (ST202). Specifically, the current actual value is compared with the target value, and if the current actual value is equal to or greater than the target value, it is evaluated that the goal has been achieved. Also, the current actual value is compared with the standard value, and if the current actual value is equal to or greater than the standard value, it is evaluated that the standard has been achieved.

[0198] Next, the processor 43 determines whether the criteria for the target item have been met (ST203).

[0199] If the target item does not meet the standard (Yes in ST203), the processor 43 next determines whether there is an item whose deviation from the standard is greater than that of the target item (ST204). A deviation from the standard is greater than that of the target item when the difference between the current performance value and the standard value is greater than that of the target item.

[0200] If there is an item that has a larger gap from the standard than the target item (Yes in ST204), the processor 43 then determines whether the target has been achieved for the target item (ST205).

[0201] Here, if the goal has been achieved for the item of interest (Yes in ST205), then, as shown in FIG. 19 (A), the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 including reward information and evaluation results related to the item of interest on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control processing) (ST211).

[0202] Next, the processor 43 sets an item that has a larger gap from the standard than the item of interest as a new item of interest (item of interest setting process), and sets a target for the item of interest (target setting process) (ST212).

[0203] Next, the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 including the new focus items and targets on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control process) (ST213). Note that when displaying the improvement support screen 551 in ST211 and ST213, two improvement support screens 551 may be displayed sequentially, or they may be displayed in an integrated state on a single improvement support screen 551.

[0204] On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 18, if the target has not been achieved for the item of interest (No in ST205), then, as shown in FIG. 19 (B), the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 including the evaluation results for the item of interest on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control processing) (ST221).

[0205] Next, the processor 43 sets an item that has a larger gap from the standard than the item of interest as a new item of interest, and sets a target for the item of interest (ST222).

[0206] Next, the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 including the new focus items and targets on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control process) (ST223). Note that when displaying the improvement support screen 551 in ST221 and ST223, two improvement support screens 551 may be displayed sequentially, or they may be displayed in an integrated state on a single improvement support screen 551.

[0207] On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 18, if there is no item whose deviation from the standard is greater than that of the target item (No in ST204), the processor 43 next determines whether the target has been achieved for the target item (ST206).

[0208] Here, if the goal has been achieved for the item of interest (Yes in ST206), then, as shown in FIG. 20 (A), the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 including reward information and evaluation results related to the item of interest on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control processing) (ST231).

[0209] Next, the processor 43 sets a new goal for the same focus item as the previous time (goal setting process) (ST232).

[0210] Next, the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 including the same focus item as last time and a new target for that focus item on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control process) (ST233). Note that when displaying the improvement support screen 551 in ST231 and ST233, two improvement support screens 551 may be displayed sequentially, or they may be displayed in an integrated state on a single improvement support screen 551.

[0211] On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 18, if the target has not been achieved for the item of interest (No in ST206), then, as shown in FIG. 20 (B), the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 including the evaluation results for the item of interest on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control processing) (ST241).

[0212] Next, the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 including the same focus item as last time and the target for that focus item on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control process) (ST242). Note that when displaying the improvement support screen 551 in ST241 and ST242, two improvement support screens 551 may be displayed sequentially, or they may be displayed in an integrated state on a single improvement support screen 551.

[0213] On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 18, if the criteria are met for the item of interest (No in ST203), the processor 43 then determines whether there are any items for which the criteria are not met (ST207).

[0214] Here, if there is an item for which the criteria have not been met (Yes in ST207), then, as shown in FIG. 21 (A), the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 containing reward information and evaluation results related to the item of interest on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control processing) (ST251).

[0215] Next, the processor 43 sets the item for which the standard has not been achieved as a new target item (target item setting process), and sets a target for the target item (target setting process) (ST252).

[0216] Next, the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 including the new focus items and targets on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control process) (ST253). Note that when displaying the improvement support screen 551 in ST251 and ST253, two improvement support screens 551 may be displayed sequentially, or they may be displayed in an integrated state on a single improvement support screen 551.

[0217] On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 18, if there are no items for which the criteria have not been met (No in ST207), then, as shown in FIG. 21 (B), the processor 43 displays an improvement support screen 551 containing reward information and evaluation results related to the item of interest on the touch panel display 36 of the battery exchange machine 3 (screen control processing) (ST261).

[0218] In this embodiment, similarly to the first embodiment, when multiple priority items for which evaluation results are to be presented to the user are selected, multiple improvement support screens 551 are displayed in descending order of priority.

[0219] In this embodiment, the management server 4 evaluates the achievement status of the target and displays the evaluation result on the battery exchange machine 3. However, the achievement status of the target may be evaluated in the electric vehicle 1 and the evaluation result may be displayed on a display panel mounted on the electric vehicle 1. In this case, the target information may be stored in the battery pack 2 (see FIG. 15 ). Also, the achievement status of the standard may be evaluated in the electric vehicle 1 and the evaluation result may be displayed on a display panel mounted on the electric vehicle 1. In this case, the standard information may be stored in the battery pack 2. Also, the standard information may be stored in the electric vehicle 1.

[0220] Furthermore, when the evaluation result is presented to the user using the electric vehicle 1, in addition to displaying characters representing the evaluation result on a display panel mounted on the electric vehicle 1, an image (face mark) representing whether the evaluation result is good or bad may also be displayed on the display panel. For example, if it is predicted that the goal will be achieved, a smiling face mark may be displayed. Furthermore, the lighting state of a lamp mounted on the electric vehicle 1 may change depending on the evaluation result. For example, if it is predicted that the goal will be achieved, a green lamp may be lit, and if it is difficult to achieve the goal, a red lamp may be lit. Furthermore, an audio message representing the evaluation result may be output from a speaker mounted on the electric vehicle 1. For example, if it is predicted that the goal will be achieved, audio such as "This is a good ride" may be output.

[0221] Furthermore, in this embodiment, when the battery pack 2 is returned, improvement support information including the evaluation result is presented to the user. Specifically, although the improvement support screen 551 is displayed, the timing at which the improvement support information is presented to the user is not limited to this. For example, the improvement support information may be presented to the user when authentication is successful. In this case, the battery pack 2 may be returned before authentication. Furthermore, when authentication is performed before the battery pack 2 is returned, the management server 4 may acquire driving history information from the battery pack 2 via the electric vehicle 1 or the user terminal.

[0222] As described above, the embodiments have been described as examples of the technology disclosed in this application. However, the technology in this disclosure is not limited to these, and can be applied to embodiments in which modifications, substitutions, additions, omissions, etc. are made. Furthermore, it is also possible to combine the components described in the above embodiments to create new embodiments.
