Description

Control method of a system utilizing NFT and a device receiving the control

[0001] The present invention relates to a control method for a system utilizing NFTs and a device receiving such control. More specifically, the present invention relates to a control method that maps NFTs associated with a device to user information, stores them in a smart contract, and controls access to device control commands in the smart contract based on a user signature.

[0002] Blockchain is a tamper-proof technology based on distributed computing technology. It stores small data sets called "blocks" in a peer-to-peer (P2P) chain-like structure, linking them together to prevent arbitrary modification and allowing anyone to view the results of any changes. Blockchain is designed to prevent arbitrary manipulation by distributed node operators by recording continuously changing data on a change list across all participating nodes.

[0003] A smart contract is a set of executable software instructions stored and executed by a blockchain network. Smart contracts are typically stored unencrypted and are therefore visible to all participants in the blockchain network. Participants in a blockchain network can create and publish their own smart contracts, and can also typically invoke smart contracts already deployed on the blockchain network. Because the set of instructions available for smart contracts is typically Turing complete, smart contracts can support complex logic to support a variety of business scenarios.

[0004] NFT stands for non-fungible token, a virtual asset whose token cannot be replaced with another on the blockchain. Because NFTs are blockchain-based, all relevant information, including ownership and sales history, is stored on the blockchain. Therefore, the original issuer can be verified at any time, making counterfeiting impossible.

[0005] Additionally, while existing virtual assets such as cryptocurrencies have equal value depending on the issuer and can be exchanged, NFTs have a unique recognition value and cannot be exchanged equally for each other's value.

[0006] Token gating is a common tool used by NFT project teams to create value for community members. Essentially, token gating allows projects to reward NFT holders by creating exclusive content, events, and other benefits available only to token holders. This allows token gating to be an effective Web3 marketing strategy for creating value and strengthening the community through exclusivity and rewards. Token gating uses API endpoints to read data from digital wallets and determine the tokens required to grant or deny token holders access to the online community.

[0007] Meanwhile, in the conventional ID / password-based control system, there was a risk of information being altered by malicious users, etc., due to the presence of a single security point such as a central server.

[0008] Furthermore, in the conventional ID / password-based control system, there was the inconvenience of having to manually separate the user's access rights for device control each time.

[0009] One embodiment of the present invention seeks to solve the above-described problem and proposes a device control system that grants device control authority only to users who possess designated NFTs through token gating.

[0010] Another embodiment of the present invention provides a control method of a system that issues an NFT in which user information and device information are mapped and confirms whether a device control command is performed based on the mapping information.

[0019] In the step where the target device executes the command, the target device may be characterized in that it verifies the user's signature using the user's wallet address and public key included in the stored user information, changes the permission level in the target device, and executes the command.

[0020] According to another embodiment of the present invention, a device controlled using an NFT includes: a memory that stores a command; a transceiver that can transmit and receive information with a blockchain network and a control device; and a controller connected to the memory and the transceiver and capable of executing the command, wherein the transceiver is characterized in that it receives a connection request from a control device that stores user wallet information and receives user information from the control device, and the controller generates a first transaction requesting the issuance of an NFT to the blockchain network, generates a second transaction that maps the user information and the device information and stores the result in a smart contract on the blockchain network, and receives, based on the mapping information, a judgment of the blockchain network on whether to execute the command transmitted by the control device according to the smart contract, and if the command is appropriate, receives the command from the blockchain network and executes the command.

[0021] The above user information may be characterized by including at least one of the user's wallet address, the user's age, and information necessary for use.

[0022] The above mapping information may be characterized by including at least one of the token ID of the NFT linked to the target device, device information of the target device, the user's wallet address, and the user's authority level.

[0024] The above command may be characterized by including at least one of a token ID, a control request, a user signature, a user wallet address, and a permission level.

[0025] The controller may be characterized in that it verifies the user's signature using the user's wallet address and public key included in the stored user information, changes the permission level in the target device, and executes the command.

[0026] According to one embodiment of the present invention, there is an advantage in that the integrity of information is guaranteed by authenticating a user with device control authority using an NFT.

[0027] According to another embodiment of the present invention, when transmitting a control command using an NFT in which user information and device information are mapped, convenience can be provided by automatically changing the user classification and authority of the target device in a smart contract.

[0028] In addition, according to another embodiment of the present invention, payment can be made by token transfer regardless of the type of content platform, thereby enabling the use of a single payment method without a separate login, thereby increasing the convenience of payment.

[0049] Hereinafter, an electronic device using blockchain and a control method thereof according to embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail.

[0050] In this specification, it is assumed that a device refers to an electronic device.

[0051] Figure 1 is a flowchart illustrating a control method for a system utilizing NFTs according to one embodiment of the present invention. While Figure 1 depicts all of the devices in the entire system, it is within the scope of the present invention for those skilled in the art to implement the technical concepts of the present invention in any single device.

[0052] A system according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a control device (100), a blockchain network (200), and a target device (300) as components. In this case, the control device (100) and the target device (300) are not limited to one, and may include multiple devices.

[0053] A system utilizing an NFT according to one embodiment of the present invention may be a system that stores information mapping an NFT linked to a target device (300) and a user's control device (100) using a smart contract on a blockchain network, and approves or rejects a control command for the target device (300) from the control device (100) according to the smart contract.

[0054] Referring to FIG. 1, a control device (100), a blockchain network (200), and a target device (300) are linked to transmit transaction information generated by a subject participating in a device control service to the blockchain network, and the processing of the transaction can be processed by nodes, which are subjects constituting the blockchain network system.

[0055] The control device (100) is a device terminal for controlling the target device (300) and is a terminal managed by the subject (user) of the control command. The control device (100) can store an application for accessing the blockchain network system (200). The control device (100) can access the blockchain network system and operate as a control node. The control device (100) can be, for example, a smart phone or remote control managed by the subject of the control command. However, the types of terminals are only the examples described above, and can be applied to various terminals capable of storing user wallets and transmitting control commands.

[0056] A blockchain network (200) (or blockchain network system) is a peer-to-peer network comprising multiple computing devices, or nodes. Each node is a computing device including one or more controllers (702), capable of performing computations, and may have blockchain account information registered with the blockchain network (200). The blockchain account information may include a private key and a public key. The private key may function as a user's digital signature for enabling transactions to occur in the blockchain network (200). The public key may serve as information identifying each node and may function as a blockchain account address that holds cryptocurrency or tokens.

[0057] Blockchain is a technology based on cryptography and distributed systems. It is a method in which each transaction party cannot deny transaction details even if a specific third party does not guarantee the transaction in an open network environment. It can refer to a technology that operates and manages a network and database that can transmit transaction details (or transactions) or ledger data. Hereinafter, for convenience of explanation, the aforementioned network and database are referred to as a blockchain network (200). In this case, transaction details may refer to transaction records transmitted and received between participants of the blockchain network and stored. Depending on the embodiment, the transaction details may be referred to as transactions, transaction information, transactions, transaction records, or transaction data, and are not limited to the examples described above. Specifically, a blockchain network is similar to a distributed database, but differs in that members (e.g., nodes) participating in a network that connects and stores transaction details or ledger data mutually verify the integrity of the ledger data and then store the verified ledger data in each node. In other words, blockchain is a storage platform designed to make arbitrary manipulation of data difficult.

[0058] The target device (300) may be a device that the control command issuer wishes to connect and control. The target device (300) may store an application for accessing the blockchain network system (200). Furthermore, the target device (300) may connect to the blockchain network system and operate as a control node.

[0059] The target device (300) may be a device including a memory (701), a controller (702), an input / output interface (703), and a transceiver (704). This will be described later in FIG. 7.

[0060] The target device (300) may be an electronic device capable of connecting to a blockchain network (200). For example, the target device (300) may include a TV, a headset, a computer, a laptop, a tablet, a refrigerator, a washing machine, a styler, an induction cooker, a water purifier, a dryer, a humidifier, etc. However, the types of devices to which the embodiments of the present invention can be applied are not limited to the examples described above, and the present invention may be applied to various devices that can be controlled by a user.

[0061] Hereinafter, a control method of a system utilizing NFT to control a target device (300) will be described with reference to FIG. 1.

[0062] The control method for a system including multiple devices utilizing NFTs can be broadly divided into a connection step (S1100) and a control step (S1200). The connection step is a step of connecting a control device (100) and a target device (300), and the control step is a step of controlling the target device (300) via the control device (100). The connection step (S1100) will be described first.

[0063] Referring to FIG. 1, the control device (100) may have user wallet information (S1100).

[0064] The control device (100) may first transmit a connection request message to the target device (300) to establish a connection (S1102). At this time, the control device (100) may also transmit user information to the target device (300). The user information may include information necessary for use, such as the address of a wallet stored in the control device (100) and the user's age. At this time, the user information is mapped to device information and serves as the basis for determining whether to execute a control command in a smart contract.

[0065] When the target device (300) receives a connection request from the control device (100), it can transmit the user information received along with the connection request to the blockchain network (200). At this time, the target device (300) can create and transmit a transaction requesting the issuance of an NFT linked to the target device (300) to the blockchain network (200). In addition, it can create and transmit a transaction that maps and stores the user information and the information of the target device (300) in a block related to the NFT linked to the target device (300) (S1103).

[0066] In a blockchain network, a smart contract that receives a transaction from the target device (300) and issues an NFT can be created (S1104).

[0067] At this time, the blockchain network can link and preserve data related to the NFT on the blockchain by mapping and storing the token ID and user information and device information received from the target device (300) in the block related to the NFT. At this time, the information mapped to the NFT can also be referred to as the NFT's metadata.

[0068] A token ID is a unique identifier on the blockchain, used to identify and track the token within the blockchain network. Each token on the blockchain network has a unique address, and the ownership and transfer history of the token can be verified based on that address.

[0069] Afterwards, the blockchain network can issue an NFT to a user wallet existing in the control device (100) according to the rules defined in the above smart contract (S1105).

[0070] Referring to Figure 1, the issuance of an NFT linked to a target device (300) in a user wallet may be completed (S1106).

[0071] The process of connecting the above-described control device (100) and target device (300), transmitting a transaction from the target device (300) to the blockchain network, and issuing an NFT in which device information and user information are mapped to a user wallet in the blockchain network can be viewed as a connection step (S1100).

[0072] Below, we will look at the control step (S1200) for controlling the target device (300) through the blockchain network from the control device (100) by utilizing the above-mentioned issued NFT.

[0073] In the control step, the control device (100) can first transmit a target device (300) control command to the corresponding smart contract of the blockchain network (S1201).

[0074] In a blockchain network, a control command is received from a control device (100) and whether or not to execute the control command is determined based on the contents stipulated in the smart contract. At this time, the blockchain network verifies whether the control command is appropriate based on the user-device mapping information stored in the NFT according to the smart contract (S1202).

[0075] If the conditions set in the smart contract are satisfied, i.e., if the control command is sent from a legitimate user and a user with a legitimate authority level, the control command is transmitted to the target device (300) (S1203).

[0076] The target device (300) that has received the control command can perform an operation to perform the control command accordingly (S1204).

[0077] The control step (S1200) is described in more detail later in Fig. 2.

[0078] Figure 2 is a flowchart illustrating in detail the control steps of a system according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0079] FIG. 2 illustrates the state of each device after the connection step described above in the control method of the system according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0080] First, the control device (100) may store an NFT linked to the target device (300) in the user wallet (S2001).

[0081] A smart contract (200) on a blockchain network may store a mapping table (S2002). The mapping table may store information such as token ID, device information, user wallet address, and permission level.

[0082] The target device (300) may store user information (S2003). In this case, the user information may include the user's wallet address and the user's public key information.

[0083] The control device (100) can transmit a control command to the target device (300) via a smart contract (200) on the blockchain (S2004). At this time, the control command may include information such as the user's token ID, control command, user's signature, and user's wallet address.

[0084] In a smart contract (200) on a blockchain network, when a control command for a target device (300) is received from the control device (100), the user verifies the control command to determine whether to execute the control command (S2005). The user verification operation in the smart contract (200) may include a step of verifying user qualifications and a step of verifying user authority.

[0085] User verification on a blockchain network may include steps for verifying user credentials and verifying user permissions. The user credentials verification step verifies the presence of the token ID and wallet address of the user who sent the control command in the mapping table. The user permissions verification step verifies the command in the mapping table to ensure it conforms to the appropriate permission level.

[0086] If the user's qualifications or permissions are not valid, verification may fail (S2006). In this case, a rejection message may be transmitted from the smart contract (200) to the control device (100) (S2007).

[0087] If user credentials and user rights are successfully verified in user verification (S2008), the blockchain network can transmit the control command to the target device (300) (S2009). The control command may include the user's token ID, control command, user signature, and user wallet address.

[0088] The target device (300) can receive a control command and perform an operation to execute the control command accordingly (S2010). The target device (300) can first verify the user signature. At this time, the user's wallet address and public key stored in the target device (300) through the above-described connection step can be used to verify the user signature. In addition, if the user's authority is verified, the authority level of the target device (300) can be changed. Thereafter, if the above conditions are met, the control command can be executed.

[0089] FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example of a system utilizing NFT according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0090] Figure 3 (a) illustrates an example of a system control method in which an existing user uses a central server system to control a target device (300).

[0091] FIG. 3 (b) illustrates an example of a system for controlling a device using an NFT according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0092] First, referring to FIG. 3 (a), in the existing system control method, in order to control a device (304), a user (301) can register a user ID and password in the central server system (303) (S3001). Thereafter, the user (301) can connect to the central server system with the registered user ID and transmit a control command to control the device (304) (S3002).

[0093] However, in a typical system, a single point of failure, the central server (303), exists, allowing a malicious user (302) to access and tamper with information (S3003). Furthermore, since the central server (303) manages all data, there is a possibility that ID and password information could be tampered with on the central server itself.

[0094] Alternatively, if a problem occurs with the central server system (303) itself, stored information may be corrupted, or access by the user (301) may become impossible (S3004). For example, if the central server (303) undergoes maintenance or there is a mechanical defect in the server, the user (301) may be unable to control the device (304).

[0095] Only when the integrity of the central server (303) is secured can the user (301) execute the device (304) according to the control command via the central server (S3005). In contrast, the control method of the system according to one embodiment of the present invention utilizes NFTs, so there is no single point of failure. Hereinafter, the control method of the system according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to (b) of FIG. 3.

[0096] One embodiment of the present invention issues an NFT to a user (305) (S3006), and by storing related information on a blockchain network, information on a user with authority on the blockchain network (306) can be stored. That is, the issuance of an NFT to a user (305) is performed on the blockchain (On-chain), and all information, such as the issuance and owner of the NFT, is mapped on the blockchain network (306) and recorded in the relevant block of the NFT (S3007).

[0097] As mentioned above, the integrity of all information is guaranteed by the blockchain's inherent characteristics, making it impossible for malicious users to tamper with user information. Furthermore, since information is stored on the blockchain network, there is no single point of failure, ensuring availability during user authentication.

[0098] FIG. 4 is a diagram for explaining device control of an NFT-based system according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0099] Figure 4 (a) illustrates an example of a method for changing usage rights in a conventional system.

[0100] As previously mentioned, user authentication relied on ID and password, making it impossible to classify the subject of a control command. Consequently, users had to manually change access rights to the target device whenever they needed to, which was inconvenient. Furthermore, this approach allowed for circumvention. For example, in the case of age-restricted control commands, if not manually activated, a child could access the adult mode.

[0101] For example, when a first user A (401) controls a device, the first user A (401) can access the device usage mode change with the ID and password. The first user A (401) can manually change the device usage mode to a usage mode appropriate to his / her authority (S4001). Afterwards, when a control command appropriate to the authority is transmitted (S4002), the device (410) can perform the control command according to the changed usage mode (S4003). More specifically, for example, when the first user A is an adult, the device can be changed to adult mode and the appropriate control command can be performed.

[0102] When a second user B (402) controls a device, the second user B (402) can access the device usage mode change with the ID and password. The second user B (402) can manually change the device usage mode to a usage mode appropriate to his / her authority (S4004). Afterwards, when a control command appropriate to the authority is transmitted (S4005), the device (410) can perform the control command according to the changed usage mode (S4006). More specifically, for example, when the second user B is a child, the device can be changed to child mode and the appropriate control command can be performed. In this case, commands for accessing restricted content may not be performed. However, since the authority change is performed manually, there was a problem that could be bypassed.

[0103] Next, with reference to (b) of FIG. 4, device control of an NFT-based system according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0104] In a system according to one embodiment of the present invention, a first user A (403) may have an NFT linked to a target device (410) in the first user A's (403) wallet. The first user A (403) may transmit a target device control command to a smart contract (200) to control the target device (410). At this time, information about the NFT held, a user signature, a user wallet address, and the like may be transmitted together (S4007). The smart contract (200) may receive the above information, and as described above in FIG. 3, based on the mapped and stored user-device information, determine whether the user is a legitimate user and a user with legitimate authority, and execute a control command. That is, when the first user A (403) transmits a control command to the target device, the subject of the command is automatically classified based on the information stored in the NFT, and the usage authority is immediately changed to a level appropriate for the first user A, and a control command appropriate for the authority is executed (S4008). For example, if the first user A (403) is an adult, and user information about him is mapped to the NFT he owns, and when he wants to control the device using this, the user authority can be automatically classified based on the user information already stored in the smart contract, and the authority level of the device can be changed to adult mode, and a control command can be executed accordingly.

[0105] A second user B (404) may have an NFT linked to a target device (410) in the wallet of the second user B (404). The second user B (404) may transmit a target device control command to a smart contract (200) in order to control the target device (410). At this time, information on the NFT held, a user signature, a user wallet address, and the like may be transmitted together (S4009). The smart contract (200) may receive the above information, and as described above in FIG. 3, based on the mapped and stored user-device information, determine whether the user is a legitimate user and a user with legitimate authority, and execute a control command. That is, when the second user B (404) transmits a control command to the target device, the subject of the command is automatically classified based on the information stored in the NFT, and the usage authority is immediately changed to a level appropriate for the second user B (404), and a control command appropriate for the authority is executed (S4010). For example, if the second user B (404) is a toddler, user information about him is mapped to the NFT he owns, and when he wants to control the device using this, the user authority can be automatically classified based on the user information already stored in the smart contract, and the device authority level can be changed to toddler mode, and the control command can be executed accordingly.

[0106] Therefore, when a user attempts to send a control command to a target device via an NFT, a smart contract on the blockchain network can automatically classify the user based on the information contained in the NFT. Therefore, the target device's access rights can be automatically changed based on the user classification. In this way, one embodiment of the present invention reduces the hassle of manually changing permissions each time, and prevents indirect access attempts resulting from such changes.

[0107] FIG. 5 is a drawing for explaining an example of a platform payment of a system utilizing NFT according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0108] Figure 5 (a) illustrates an example of a method for making platform payments in a conventional system.

[0109] As previously mentioned, user authentication relied on ID and password, making it impossible to automatically classify the subject of control commands. Consequently, when purchasing paid content, separate logins, payment method registration, and management were required for each content platform, resulting in the inconvenience of this process.

[0110] For example, when a first user A (501) pays for paid content on a first platform (502), the first user A (501) must log in to the first platform (502) using the ID and password registered on the first platform (502) to access the platform (S5001). Afterwards, the payment can be processed and the purchase of content on the first platform can be controlled through payment method registration and payment management (S5002) (S5003).

[0111] In addition, even when the same first user A (501) pays for paid content on the second platform (503), the first user A (501) had to log in to the second platform (503) using the ID and password separately registered on the second platform (503) to access the second platform (S5004). After that, the payment could be processed and the purchase of content on the second platform could be controlled (S5006) through payment method registration and payment management again (S5005). Therefore, in the past, there was the inconvenience of having to log in and manage payment methods every time.

[0112] Next, with reference to (b) of FIG. 5, an example of paying for paid content in an NFT-based system according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described.

[0113] In one embodiment of the present invention, a system allows users to possess NFTs associated with their target devices, regardless of the content platform. Therefore, payments can be made through the registered user's wallet, regardless of the content platform, thereby enhancing the convenience of payment as a single payment method. In other words, when transferring tokens from a user's wallet, a payment request can be sent and payment completed without the need for separate authentication procedures.

[0114] For example, when a first user A (501) pays for paid content on a first platform (502), a token can be transferred from the first user A (501)'s wallet (S5007). At this time, since user authentication is possible using only NFTs without the need for a separate authentication procedure on the first platform (502), payment can be completed without the need for separate payment method management (S5008). This process is also repeated when paying for paid content on a second platform (503) (S5009, S5010), thereby eliminating the need for separate management for each platform, thereby increasing the convenience of payment.

[0115] FIG. 6 is a diagram for explaining a change in device control authority of a system utilizing NFT according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0116] Traditional token gating refers to controlling access to specific gates, physical locations, or assets based on the presence or absence of specific NFTs or cryptocurrencies. In other words, it can be viewed as a function that uses blockchain to grant and update access rights to specific systems.

[0117] According to a system control method according to one embodiment of the present invention, when transmitting a control command to a target device, it is possible to automatically classify the command subject according to a smart contract of a blockchain and change the usage rights, and automatically manage the usage rights of the target device (603) according to the user level.

[0118] For example, user A (601) can transmit a control command to a target device (603), and a smart contract can automatically execute user classification and change based on information of a device-linked NFT held by the user (S6001). Thereafter, the blockchain can transmit the control command to the target device (603), and the target device (603) can execute an operation to operate in permission mode 1 (e.g., general mode) according to the control command (S6003).

[0119] Similarly, a second user B (602) can transmit a control command to the target device (603), and automatically execute user classification and change based on the information of the device-linked NFT possessed by the user in the smart contract (S6002). Thereafter, the control command is transmitted from the blockchain to the target device (603), and the target device (603) can execute an operation to activate permission mode 2 (e.g., kids mode) according to the control command (S6004).

[0120] FIG. 7 is a block diagram showing the configuration of a device controlled by a system utilizing NFT according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0121] Referring to FIG. 7, a device (700) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one memory (701), a controller (702), an input / output interface (703), and a transceiver (704). However, the configuration of the device (700) is not limited and may additionally include or omit additional components.

[0122] The memory (701) can store one or more commands. That is, it can store commands that can perform the controller's operations. For example, the command DB can store computer code that performs operations corresponding to the controller's operations described below.

[0123] Additionally, the memory (702) may store a software program that provides a service of the system according to an embodiment of the present invention. The software program may include an interface for controlling the system of the present invention and the blockchain network system (600).

[0124] The controller (702) controls the overall operation of the device (700). The controller (702) may implement a control module, a contract module, and a compensation module. The controller (702) may execute commands stored in the memory (701) to drive the control module, the contract module, and the compensation module.

[0125] The control module can control the overall operation of the controller. Depending on the type of information received, the control module can perform a specific operation. The control module can transmit the calculated information externally or, based on the calculated information, generate a specific transaction in the blockchain network system (200).

[0126] The contract module can control the overall operation related to the blockchain network system (200). The contract module can determine the protocol to be distributed to the blockchain network system (200). For example, the contract module can create and distribute a smart contract that has rules regarding the issuance, issuance amount, incineration amount of tokens, the amount of tokens to be added or incinerated when certain conditions are met, conditions under which tokens can be transferred, information that must be included in a transaction to activate the smart contract, and an entity that can activate the smart contract. Nodes participating in the blockchain network system (200) can activate the smart contract by transmitting a transaction that satisfies certain conditions according to the rules set in the smart contract.

[0127] The operations performed by the above-described control module, contract module, and compensation module can be understood as operations performed by the controller (702).

[0128] The input / output interface (703) may include a hardware interface or software interface that allows an administrator controlling the device (700) to input specific information or output specific information to the administrator.

[0129] The transceiver (704) enables the system and components included in the blockchain network system (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention to transmit and receive information. To this end, the transceiver (704) may include a wireless communication module or a wired communication module.

[0130] It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit and essential characteristics of the present invention.
