[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] OVEN HINGE CONNECTION THAT PREVENTS ENAMEL FROM BREAKING ON THE VISUAL SURFACE
[0003] Technical field of the invention
[0004] The invention relates to an oven hinge connection that prevents the crack from progressing when the enamel material cracks in ovens and prevents the enamel from breaking on a visual surface.
[0005] The State of the Art
[0006] An oven is a heating device used to cook, heat, dry or grill a substance in a closed area. There are many types of ovens such as domestic ovens, wall ovens, industrial ovens and earth ovens. There are ovens that allow cooking food under suitable conditions and have features such as fan, thermostat, etc. together or separately.
[0007] The space inside the ovens where the food is cooked is called the firebox. The structure that forms the walls of the firebox is called the oven cavity. A bottom sheet is mounted ensuring that the floor where the structure that forms this oven cavity will be positioned is not affected by the heat. A door is connected to the front sheet mounted on the oven cavity so that food can be placed inside the firebox.
[0008] There are connection elements in the ovens to connect the oven parts to each other. In today's ovens, an additional metal part is needed to connect the oven cavity, which forms the frame of the firebox, and the bottom plate between the floor where the oven will be positioned and the oven cavity. In order to fix this additional part in the correct position, the hinge must be connected to the bottom plate. The use of additional parts both prolongs the application time and causes additional costs.
[0009] Since ovens operate under high temperatures, the durability of the connection parts used on the oven is important. In applications in the state of the art, a hole is created on the additional metal part for the hinge to be connected to the bottom plate. After the hole is produced, it needs to be enamelled to obtain perceptual quality. Especially ovens, refrigerators and most of the kitchen appliances are coated with enamel. Enamel protects the material it is applied to, ensures its longevity and also provides an aesthetic appearance by providing shine. Enamel is a material produced by fusing powdered glass to a substrate. Due to the glass material, it is fragile when screwed onto the surface. Therefore, problems such as cracking of the enamel are frequently encountered after the hinge is placed on the enamelled hole. These cracks progress on the surface and cause cracks in different parts of the oven.
[0010] Although various suggestions and applications have been developed for the progress of cracks in the state of the art, these developments are aimed at preventing the progress of cracks formed on the existing profile or sheet metal. Some applications of the inventions developed for this purpose are given below.
[0011] The invention that is the subject of the application numbered “US4383556A” in the state of the art relates to an apparatus for limiting the spread of cracks in welded sheet metal structures. In the invention, there is at least one slit placed at an angle to the direction of progress in order to prevent cracks that may occur in the sheets. In the invention, a slit is provided in the middle part of each pipeline section, and multi-layered sections are inserted from both sides and at a certain distance from there to act as a crack stop device.
[0012] The invention that is the subject of the application numbered “US4559974A” in the state of the art relates to an apparatus and method developed to stop ductile fracture propagating in an object such as a pipe. In the invention, a plurality of crack preventing elements are placed around the object, surrounding and gripping the object at intervals. In this way, the progression of the crack formed in the pipes is prevented.
[0013] The invention that is the subject of the application numbered "EP2097680" in the state of the art relates to a cooking device that comprises a body wherein the cooking process is performed on the upper surface and / or the interior volume, a front panel including the elements such as knobs and displays thereon, a cook top mounted on the body, containing the gas burners and / or electrical heating plates for heating and / or cooking and a frame to which the walls forming the body, the front panel and the cook top are fastened and a connection spring for resiliently attaching the cook top on the frame and for attenuating the forces acting on the cook top and thus preventing the cracking of the enamel coating of the cook top. In appliances such as ovens that come into contact with food and are exposed to high heat, enamel coating is widely used in the state of the art. Since every surface of these appliances is coated, it is possible for the connection points where the sheets are screwed during assembly to crack. Especially in ovens and similar appliances that come into contact with food and are exposed to high heat, if these coatings break and crack, it can cause major problems in terms of both health and safety.
[0014] In the documents in the state of the art, slits are used to prevent the progression of cracks. However, all of these structures are made to prevent the progression of cracks that may occur on the existing profile (sheet, pipe, etc.). In the state of the art, there is no structure that will prevent the progression of cracks that will occur in this fragile coating after the assembly of a sheet whose surface is coated with a fragile material (enamel, etc.).
[0015] As a result, due to the negativities described above and the inadequacy of existing solutions on the subject, it has become necessary to make a development in the relevant technical field.
[0016] The aim of the invention
[0017] The aim of the invention is to prevent the spread of cracks when the enamel material cracks in ovens.
[0018] Another aim of the invention is to prevent cracks with a slit that combines the hinge, front sheet and bottom sheet of the oven in a single hole and is formed in the form of "u” around the hole. In this way, when a crack occurs after the hinge is placed on the enamelled hole, a slit formed in the form of "u" prevents the progression of this crack.
[0019] The aim of the invention is to eliminate the need for an additional metal part to connect the oven cavity and the bottom sheet to each other.
[0020] Another aim of the invention is to ensure that the three parts of the oven are connected with a single hole. In this way, a self-assembly element is obtained by cutting the sheet without using an additional assembly apparatus on a single sheet. Another aim of the invention is to eliminate the need for an additional metal part to fix the oven cavity, bottom sheet and front sheet to each other with a hinge.

[0037] The invention relates to an oven hinge connection that prevents cracks in ovens from spreading when enamel cracks and prevents enamel breakage on a visual surface that eliminates the need for an additional metal part to connect the oven cavity and the bottom sheet to each other.
[0038] Said connection element generally comprises a bottom sheet (110) with a connection opening (11 1 ), a hinge (120) with a connection hole (121 ) and a cooking cavity (130) with a front sheet frame (131 ), a protrusion (132), a hole (133), and a channel opening (134).
[0039] The connection element that is the subject of the invention comprises at least one bottom sheet (110) which is placed between the oven cooking cavity (130) and the floor and which has at least one mutual connection opening (11 1 ) for the hinge (120) connection, at least one hinge (120) connecting the front sheet frame located on the bottom sheet (110) and the cooking cavity (130) to each other, comprising at least one connection hole (121 ) thereon for connecting the bottom sheet (1 10) and the cooking cavity (130) to each other, and at least one cooking cavity (130) having a front sheet frame (131 ) thereon, comprising an enamelled protrusion (132) for the hinge (120) to be attached, comprising at least one surface formed by cutting three edges at the corners where the front sheet frame (131 ) will be connected to the hinge (120) and bending the part with the cut edges by 90 degrees; at least one hole (133) provided on the protrusion (132) to connect the lower sheet (1 10) and the hinge (120) to each other; at least one U-shaped channel opening (134) that is positioned around the hole (133) on the protrusion (132) and prevents the crack from progressing to the front face of the oven when the hole (133) located on the enamelled protrusion (132) cracks.
[0040] The bottom sheet (110) is placed between the oven cooking cavity (130) and the floor. The bottom sheet is placed between the oven cooking cavity and the floor to prevent the heat generated around the oven cooking cavity (130) from coming into contact with the floor. The bottom sheet (110) comprises connection openings (11 1 ) corresponding to the hole (133) located on the front sheet frame (131 ) mounted on the oven cooking cavity. There are mutual connection openings (1 1 1 ) on the bottom sheet (1 10) for the hinge (120) connection. The hinge (120) connects the bottom sheet (1 10) and the front sheet frame mounted on the cooking cavity (130) to each other. The hinge (120) comprises connection holes (121 ) on it to connect the bottom sheet (1 10) and the cooking cavity (130) to each other. The connection holes (121 ) on the hinge (120), the connection openings (11 1 ) on the lower sheet (1 10) and the hole (133) on the front sheet frame (131 ) are aligned and connected to each other. In this way, the lower sheet (110), the front sheet frame (131 ) and the hinge (120) are fixed to each other without the need for an additional metal part. The connection holes (121 ) on the hinge (120) are connected to the connection openings (1 1 1 ) on the lower sheet (110) and the hole (133) on the front sheet frame (131 ).
[0041] The oven cooking cavity (130) is the section that forms the outer skeleton of the firebox where the food is cooked. The oven cooking cavity (130) has a front sheet frame (131 ) on it. The front sheet frame (131 ) is on the side where the door that can be opened and closed so that food can be placed in the firebox is mounted and where the user can see the inside of the firebox. The front sheet frame (131 ) has an enamel-coated protrusion (132) on it so that the hinge (120) can be attached. This protrusion (132) is enamel-coated to have a long life and a bright appearance. Enamel is a material produced by fusing powdered glass to a substrate. It is fragile when screwed onto the surface due to the glass material. For this reason, crack formations are frequently observed on enamel-coated surfaces.
[0042] A protrusion (132) is created at the junction corners of the front sheet frame (131 ) and the bottom sheet in order to fix it with a hinge at the point where the front sheet frame (131 ) will join the bottom sheet. This protrusion is created by cutting three edges of the front sheet frame surface and bending it 90 degrees from the uncut edge. In this way, a protrusion is created from the surface of the front sheet frame without the need for an additional metal part. The protrusion (132) is created by cutting three edges at the corners of the front sheet frame (131 ) where it will be connected to the hinge (120) and bending the part with the cut edges 90 degrees.
[0043] A hole (133) is opened on the protrusion (132) created from the surface of the front sheet frame. The protrusion (132) comprises a hole (133) to connect the lower sheet (1 10) and the hinge (120) to each other. When the hinge (120) is connected to this hole (133), crack formations can be observed around the hole (133) due to the fragility of the enamel material. A channel opening (134) is created to prevent the crack that starts on the protrusion (132) from progressing on the front sheet frame (131 ).
[0044] The surface of the protrusion (132) comprises a U-shaped channel opening (134) on it positioned around the hole (133). The channel opening (134) is created by creating a slit around the hole (133) on the protrusion (132). This slit that creates the channel opening (134) is in U-shape. The channel opening (134) is positioned so that the peak of the U-shape faces the front sheet frame (131 ). In this way, a crack that occurs around the hole (133) reaches the channel opening (134) while progressing to the front sheet surface, and the channel opening (134) prevents this crack from progressing to the front sheet surface. The shape of the channel opening is intentionally elliptical, ensuring that the fracture remains in the inner part instead of the front visual surface.
[0045] An oven connection element that prevents the crack from progressing when the enamel material cracks in ovens provides the connection between the lower sheet (1 10), hinge (120) and front sheet frame (131 ). For this process, cuts are made on two corners of the front sheet frame at the corners where the front sheet frame (131 ) will join the lower sheet (110). Three cuts at 90 degrees to each other are made on the surface located at the corner of the front sheet frame (131 ). These cuts have a structure that will form the 3 sides of a quadrilateral. The fourth corner that is not cut is the corner that remains connected to the front sheet frame (131 ). This surface is bent at a 90 degree angle from the edge fixed on this front sheet frame (131 ). This bent surface is called the protrusion (132) surface. A hole (133) is opened on this protrusion (132) surface. This hole (133) corresponds to the connection hole (121 ) on the hinge (120) and the connection opening (11 1 ) on the lower sheet (110) and this lower sheet (110), hinge (120) and the front sheet frame (131 ) can be connected to each other. A channel opening (134) is created by cutting the perimeter of the hole (133) in order to prevent a possible crack that may occur around the hole (133) as a result of this connection. This channel opening (134) is in the shape of a u-form and is positioned in a way that the top point of the u-form faces the front sheet frame. In this way, the crack formed around the hole (133) encounters the channel opening (134) as it progresses to the front sheet frame and is stopped before it progresses to the front sheet frame by means of this opening.
