Description

“FOUR PRODUCTS FOR THE TREATMENT OF DEEP ENDOMETRIOSIS”

[0001] This invention patent relates to four products for the treatment of deep endometriosis. The first is a platform for second-reading exams that will assist diagnostic imaging services (clinics, laboratories, hospitals, and doctors' offices). The third product includes an AI platform for supplementary image reading, which again aims to address the shortcomings of diagnostic imaging services, and software to optimize analysis and report preparation with 3D printed and digital images. With these features, we expect to significantly reduce diagnostic errors in this patient group, thereby increasing diagnostic accuracy and strengthening the reputation and credibility of the respective imaging services.

[0002] Therefore, the patent application in question covers products for a Deep Endometriosis Imaging Diagnostics center that aims to increase the accuracy of ultrasound exams, significantly reducing the waiting time for a correct diagnosis, allowing the patient to receive appropriate treatment.

[0003] The present application also aims to provide treatment assistance for deep endometriosis, a silent, painful, inflammatory disease whose causes are still unclear. One theory suggests that the disease is caused by the cells lining the uterine cavity, the endometrium. During menstruation, these cells, instead of leaving the body through the vagina, flow back through the fallopian tubes and enter the abdominal cavity, where they proliferate and cause further bleeding.

[0004] In Brazil, it affects approximately 7 million women of reproductive age, and it is estimated that more than 60% of women are unaware of the symptoms of the condition. It affects women of reproductive age (from adolescence to the transition to menopause), and its diagnosis can take 8 to 12 years, considering patients who seek health services for investigation and treatment. This delay in diagnosis is also due to the fact that the disease presents a wide spectrum of signs and symptoms, ranging from asymptomatic cases to situations in which the patient loses kidney function, requiring a transplant to live without the need for dialysis machines. The most common symptoms are cramping abdominal and pelvic pain (menstrual or otherwise), pain during sexual intercourse, and pain during bowel movements or urination. Within this range of symptoms, the disease is associated with infertility and miscarriages.

[0005] The use of techniques and objects with diagnostic capacity in laboratories and hospitals that need to offer the most accurate diagnostic exam, from the first investigation through the first-line method, which is transvaginal ultrasound (with color Doppler and bowel preparation), which would lead to greater team efficiency, physician and patient loyalty, and greater profitability, considering that ultrasound requires low investment (acquisition and maintenance).

[0006] The imaging diagnosis of Deep Endometriosis through a diagnostic center allows for an increase in the diagnostic accuracy of imaging services, thus increasing the credibility of clients, both of the doctors who refer the patients, and of the patients themselves, for providing the correct diagnosis.

[0007] Imaging services would be less dependent on physicians dedicated to learning how to diagnose disease and map it, including the learning curve naturally required for the examiner.

[0008] The diagnosis of endometriosis itself is clinical. However, ultrasound mapping is essential to choosing a treatment strategy, as it allows the physician to determine whether or not target organs are affected by the disease and whether surgery is indicated. In these cases, if positive, the surgeon can schedule the surgical time, the professional team, the surgical equipment, and questions about hospital discharge, among other things.

[0009] Of all the types analyzed, we have to define the profile that, with a solution, directly or indirectly helps the patient with endometriosis.

[0010] Answer the following questions

[0011] What is the need / problem to be addressed?

[0012] Laboratories and hospitals need to offer the most accurate diagnostic exam, from the first investigation through the first-line method, which is transvaginal ultrasound (with color Doppler and bowel preparation), which would lead to greater team efficiency, physician and patient loyalty, and greater profitability, considering that ultrasound requires low investment (acquisition and maintenance).

[0013] Who is the target audience?

[0014] Imaging laboratories and / or clinics, Hospitals

[0015] Practices of gynecologists who perform ultrasounds during consultations

[0016] What is the project's vision (objective)?

[0017] Allow a greater number of women (all) with endometriosis, symptomatic or not, to receive an accurate diagnosis, regardless of their location in relation to centers that have a greater supply of properly trained doctors with experience in this research. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0018] The present invention relates to the project that includes three products that are part of a deep endometriosis imaging diagnostic center, as described below:

[0019] 1 o Product - 2 Platform a reading

[0020] Using a tutorial provided by RevELA Dor, the examining physician would obtain specific (standardized) images that would be transmitted to RevELA Dor physicians responsible for the second reading (doctors with recognized experience in diagnosing the disease and with more than 8,000 patients examined), who, within a defined period of time and after accessing all images, would release the finalized report.

[0021] Hiring of 2 a reading by different types (ad hoc, direct partnership, indirect partnership)

[0022] 2nd product - Educational platform

[0023] Intended for doctors to improve the skills of imaging specialists (all those who perform transvaginal examinations) with the possibility of individualized mentoring / training at different time intervals, respecting the difficulties of each student.

[0024] 3rd product - AI platform for complementary image evaluation

[0025] Intended for diagnostic imaging services aimed at increasing the accuracy of examinations and medical diagnoses. Therefore, In addition to diagnosis, this platform could consequently assist in the evolutionary control of this patient.

[0026] 4 o Software to streamline the reporting process and software for preparing reports based on the images obtained and analyzed. The report, in addition to being descriptive, includes a 3D image (printed or digital) for viewing by the physician who ordered the exam. The software uses algorithms to fill out forms and streamline the report process. It also provides a 3D image of the uterus and ovary, allowing the physician to indicate the structures observed during the exam and then provide the image in printed form or as a 3D file.

[0027] The project requirements are: a) IT Infrastructure b) 4G or 5G Connection c) Database and Cloud d) Digital Platform e) AI Platform f) Software and AI Development Team g) Team of Medical Consultants image h) Database
