Methods and devices for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in the peritoneal cavity

A novel approach to diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in the peritoneal cavity is described. More specifically, a technique for accessing the peritoneal cavity via the wall of the digestive tract is provided so that examination of and / or a surgical procedure in the peritoneal cavity can be conducted via the wall of the digestive tract with the use of a flexible endoscope. As presently proposed, the technique is particularly adapted to transgastric peritoneoscopy. However, access in addition or in the alternative through the intestinal wall is contemplated and described as well. Transgastric and / or transintestinal peritoneoscopy will have an excellent cosmetic result as there are no incisions in the abdominal wall and no potential for visible post-surgical scars or hernias.

Image capture control for in vivo autonomous camera

Systems and methods are provided for motion detection and capture control of video data from a capsule camera system having an on-board storage. The capsule camera system moves through the GI tract under the action of peristalsis and records images of the intestinal walls. The capsule's movement is episodic and jerky. The capacity of the on-board storage is limited. In order to avoid unnecessary capture of images when the capsule camera moves very slowly or stalls, motion detection technique is utilized to help control image capture. Furthermore, an adaptive capture control is disclosed that automatically adjusts the threshold level of capture control to maintain proper image capture. The invented capture control also conserves precious battery power by eliminating capture of unnecessary images when the capsule camera moves too slowly or stalls. The present invention of image capture control and threshold update is also applicable to a capsule camera system having a wireless transmitter instead of an on-board storage.

Special primer for aided-identifying strains of lactobacillus and application thereof

The invention claims a special primer for aided-identifying strains of lactobacillus and the application thereof. The special primer is composed of a primer pair A and a primer pair B; the primer pair A is composed of the DNA of the sequences 13 and 14 in the sequence table; and the primer pair B is composed of the DNA of the sequences 15 and 16 in the sequence table. The PCR amplification is carried out on the total DNA of the strain to be detected by using the special primer; if the PCR product can be amplified by the primer pair A or the primer pair B, the strain to be detected is the candidate strain of lactobacillus; if no PCR product is amplified by the primer pair A or the primer pair B, the strain to be detected is the candidate strain of non-lactobacillus. In combination with the denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) or the sequencing technology, the invention further determines that the strain to be detected is the specific strain of lactobacillus. By adopting the special primer of the invention and combining with the PCR and the DGGE, the planting condition of the probiotics on the intestinal wall of aquatic animal can be directly identified. The method is the fastest, simplest, most convenient and effective method at present.
