AI Technical Summary
Current herbicides often struggle to effectively control a broad spectrum of weeds without harming desired crops, and the development of herbicide-resistant weeds poses a significant economic challenge.
A herbicidal combination comprising at least one carbamate herbicide, such as asulam, combined with a second herbicide from classes like chloroacetamide, triazolone, N-phenyltriazolinone, isoxazolidinone, aryloxyphenoxypropionic, or cyclohexanedione, applied in effective amounts to achieve efficient weed control.
The combination provides synergistic control of weeds, including herbicide-resistant species, while minimizing harm to desired crops and ensuring rapid dissipation from the soil, thus enhancing crop yield and safety.
Abstract
Description
TITLE: HERBICIDAL COMBINATIONS, METHODS, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE:
[0001] The present disclosure relates to agrochemical combinations and compositions. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a herbicidal combination / composition comprising at least one carbamate herbicide and at least a second herbicide. BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE:
[0002] Herbicides are used to control growth of undesired plants / weeds. Weeds are detrimental to the crop growth, health, and yield. Herbicides have been traditionally used for their weed-controlling characteristics as well as for their effect on crops. Herbicides that control a broad spectrum of weed species often have limited utility because they also injure crops. Additionally, often the most desirable herbicides for weed control and crop safety have other less desirable characteristics (e.g., environmental, economic concerns). Therefore, a desirable herbicide should control a broad spectrum of weeds, while causing no harm to the desired plants; and also dissipate from the soil rapidly after weed control is accomplished.
[0003] The development of herbicide resistance in weeds is a major concern because it almost always results in increased costs, particularly in industrialized nations that have embraced the use of herbicides and crops genetically modified to resist them. Various weeds develop resistance or tolerance due widespread use of various herbicides. Therefore, there is a need for an effective solution for controlling weeds that have developed resistance or tolerance.OBJECTIVES OF THE DISCLOSURE:
[0004] It is a primary objective of the present disclosure to provide a herbicidal combination for controlling weeds.
[0005] Another objective of the present disclosure to provide a herbicidal composition for controlling weeds.
[0006] Another objective of the present disclosure to provide a method for controlling weeds.

[0215] The effect of application of asulam and haloxyfop alone, and asulam along with haloxyfop was observed on the growth of Amaranthus hybridus weed at 14, 21, 28 and 35 DAA (days after application). The percentage (%) control of weeds was evaluated to assess the efficacy of the combination and the same has been disclosed in Table 8. The data as disclosed in Table 8 illustrates enhanced efficacy of Asulam + haloxyfop as compared to Asulam and haloxyfop alone.
[0216] In view of the above, it will be seen that the several advantages of the disclosure are achieved, and other advantageous results attained. Although the present disclosure has been disclosed in full, it will be understood that numerous additional modifications and variations could be made thereto without departing from the scope of the disclosure.
