Description

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR METHOD FOR EXERCISE STATUS ASSESSMENTAND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUMTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] This disclosure relates to a method for exercise status assessment and system and non-transitory computer-readable medium storing said method.BACKGROUND

[0002] In order to track and monitor the status of exercise, traditional exercise equipment usually has a built-in counter to record the movement number. For example, a mechanical counter can be triggered by pressing a button, rotating a gear or pulling the equipment to count, or an electronic counter can be used to count. Counters can process signals generated by voltage changes, current changes, or induction to count. In addition, the movement trajectory can also be calculated through the emission and reflection of laser light waves or ultrasonic waves to achieve the movement counting function.

[0003] Since the built-in counter cannot effectively locate each fixed point of the movement, the misjudgment rate is high, resulting in the inability to count effectively, and thus the movement status cannot be analyzed and recorded through the number of movements. In addition, laser light waves or ultrasound are difficult and expensive to construct because they require a large number of blocking points to detect reflections.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0035] In step S14, the computing device 13 maintains the number of movement. Specifically, when no movement is executed or a movement is unfinished, no counting is performed.

[0036] In step S15, the computing device 13 generates and outputs the exercise status message at least according to the number of movement. Specifically, the computing device 13 may generate the exercise status message at least through the total number of times the exercise equipment 2 is used, and output the total number of times for the user to check exercise condition instantly. For example, the computing device 13 may generate the exercise status message in the form of audio, light, image or any other forms, and output the exercise status message through an output element such as a speaker, a lamp, a display device, a communication port etc. The output element may be components included in a personal device, such as a cell phone, a tablet etc., or may be a component separate from the computing device 13. It should be noted that FIG. 3 only exemplarily illustrates the order of step S13 to step S15, the order of step S13 and step S15 may also be in reverse or step S13 and step S15 may be performed at the same time. Further, step S15 may be performed when the user actively retrieves information, or step S15 may be performed repeatedly when step S11 starts, the present disclosure is not limited thereto.

[0037] In another embodiment, in addition to steps S11 to S15 described above, the method for exercise status assessment may further include steps of generating time information: when the determination result of step S12 is that the change in wireless signal strength matches the predefined signal strength trajectory, the computing device 13 analyzing at least one limit strength value of the change in wireless signal strength; and generating time information according to time differences between a starting time point, an ending time point and at least one time point corresponding to the at least one limit strength value of a matching part of the change in wireless signal strength. The matching part of the change in wireless signal strength is a part of the change in wireless signal strength that matches the predefined signal strength trajectory. For example, the at least one limit strength value may be a strength value of a peak or a through. In step S15, in addition to generating the exercise status message according to the number of movement, the exercise status message is generated further according to the time information. The above steps may be performed by the computing device 13. Further, the computing device 13 may pre-store definition of one or more time intervals, said definition is associated with the starting time point, the ending time point and the at least one time point corresponding to the at least one limit  strength value of the change in wireless signal strength. The computing device 13 may generate the time information according to the definition of time intervals and the time differences between time points described above.

[0038] As described above, the exercise status assessment system 1’ of FIG. 2 may also perform steps S11 to S15 or / and the steps of generating the time information, the operation details are the same, and are not repeated herein. In particular, step S11 performed by the exercise status assessment system 1’ may include the computing device 13 obtaining a plurality of first wireless signal strength values during a continuous period of time through the second wireless signal device 12; obtaining a plurality of second wireless signal strength values during the continuous period of time through the second wireless signal device 12; performing noise processing on the first wireless signal strength values and the second wireless signal strength values; and using the first wireless signal strength values and the second wireless signal strength values after the noise processing to generate the change in wireless signal strength, wherein the noise processing may include: when a difference between a first rate of change of the first wireless signal strength values over time and a second rate of change of the second wireless signal strength values over time is greater than a preset threshold, removing the first wireless signal strength values and the second wireless signal strength values corresponding to a greater one of the first rate of change and the second rate of change .

[0039] For example, please refer to table 1 below, time points T0, T1, T2 and T3 may be one continuous period of time, and the basis for division of the preset threshold is a preset magnification of 1.5 times. At time point T1, the first rate of change of the first wireless signal strength value over time is 1.052, and the second rate of change of the second wireless signal strength value over time is 2.25. At this time, difference between the first rate of change and the second rate of change is greater than the preset threshold, the computing device 13 may remove the second wireless signal strength value of time point T1, meaning removing the second wireless signal strength value -40, and uses the first wireless signal strength value and the second wireless signal strength value after the noise processing to generate the change in wireless signal strength. Specifically, the second wireless signal strength value of the removed time point T1 may be changed to a value of the first wireless signal strength value of time point T1 multiplied by the second wireless signal strength value of time point T0 and divided by the first wireless signal strength value of time point T0 (for example, -95 multiplied by -90 and divided by -100) , the second wireless signal strength value of time point T1 after said changed is 85.5.

[0040] Table 1

[0041] By the wireless signal strength value obtained by two or more sets of reference points, the exercise status assessment system 1’ may compare the wireless signal strength values of different reference points at the same time point, thereby reducing signal instability factors, improving accuracy of counting the number of movement and reducing the probability of determining the wrong number of movement.

[0042] In another embodiment, in addition to step S11 to S15, the method for exercise status assessment may further include rotating the predefined signal strength trajectory along a predefined direction and continuing to perform step S12 when the determination result of step S12 maintains the change in wireless signal strength not matching the predefined signal strength trajectory (negative) for a predefined duration. Accordingly, when the user is using the exercise equipment 2, the user may not be restricted to facing the second wireless signal device 12, and may use the exercise equipment 2 in different aspects, thereby having more flexibility in using the exercise equipment 2.

[0043] Please refer to FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, wherein FIG. 4 is a flowchart of selecting a predefined signal strength trajectory based on equipment type information according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 4, in addition to steps S11 to S15 shown in FIG. 3, the method for exercise status assessment may further include step S21: detecting the identification element disposed at the exercise equipment to obtain the target category information of the exercise equipment; and step S22: selecting the predefined signal strength trajectory from the candidate signal strength trajectories according to the target category information. The following exemplarily uses the exercise status assessment system 1’ shown in FIG. 2 to explain selecting the predefined signal strength trajectory according to the category information of the exercise equipment of the method for exercise status assessment shown in FIG. 4.

[0044] In step S21, the computing device 13 detects the identification element 14 disposed at the exercise equipment 2 through the identification element detection device 15 to obtain the  target category information of the exercise equipment 2. Specifically, step S21 is performed by the user triggering the identification element detection device 15 to detect the identification element 14 to obtain the target category information of the exercise equipment 2. The identification element detection device 15 then transmits the detected target category information to the computing device 13. Or, the user triggers an application stored by the computing device 13, and the computing device 13 runs the application to activate the identification element detection device 15 to detect the identification element 14 to obtain the target category information of the exercise equipment 2. The identification element detection device 15 then transmits the detected target category information to the computing device 13.

[0045] In step S22, the computing device 13 selects the predefined signal strength trajectory from the candidate signal strength trajectories according to the target category information. Specifically, the candidate signal strength trajectories correspond to a plurality of pieces of predefined category information, respectively. Furthermore, the computing device 13 selects the predefined signal strength trajectory required for the following step (s) according to the obtained target category information. Therefore, by having a corresponding predefined signal strength trajectory for each exercise equipment 2, counting the number of movement may be performed for different exercise equipment 2.

[0046] In the embodiment where the exercise status assessment system includes the identification element 14 and the identification element detection device 15, in addition to steps S21 to S22 shown in FIG. 4, the method for exercise status assessment may further include the computing device 13 detecting at least one identification element 14 disposed at the exercise equipment 2 through the identification element detection device 15 to obtain the weight information of the exercise equipment 2, wherein the exercise status message is generated further according to the weight information.

[0047] Please refer to FIG. 3 and FIG. 5, wherein FIG. 5 is a flowchart of a determination step of the method for exercise status assessment according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 5, step S12 of FIG. 3 includes step S121: extracting a predefined feature from the change in wireless signal strength; step S122: selecting a starting strength value from the plurality of wireless signal strength values according to the predefined feature; and step S123: starting from the starting strength value, comparing whether a similarity between the change in wireless signal strength and the predefined signal strength trajectory is greater than a preset threshold according to a sequence of the continuous period of time. In addition, when the determination result of step S123 is “yes” ,  step S13 of FIG. 3 is performed; when the determination result of step S123 is “no” , step S14 of FIG. 3 is performed. The following exemplarily explains the matching determination step of the method for exercise status assessment shown in FIG. 5 with the exercise status assessment system 1’ shown in FIG. 2.

[0048] In step S121, the computing device 13 extracts the predefined feature from the change in wireless signal strength. Specifically, after the computing device 13 obtains the change in wireless signal strength of the wireless signal device disposed at the exercise equipment 2, the computing device 13 extracts the predefined feature from the change in wireless signal strength. Moreover, the predefined feature may be a part of the change in wireless signal strength that is similar to the predefined signal strength trajectory, such as an interval of three consecutive significant changes in signal strength.

[0049] In step S122, the computing device 13 selects the starting strength value from the wireless signal strength values according to the predefined feature. Specifically, the computing device 13 uses the wireless signal strength value generated at the time point that precedes the generation time of the predefined feature by a preset period as the starting strength value.

[0050] In step S123, the computing device 13 starts comparing the change in wireless signal strength and the predefined signal strength trajectory according to the sequence of the continuous period of time to determine whether the similarity therebetween is higher than the preset threshold. Specifically, the computing device 13 compares the wireless signal strength value of each time point starting from the starting strength value with the wireless signal strength value corresponding to this time point in the predefined signal strength trajectory to determine whether the similarity therebetween is higher than the preset threshold.

[0051] To further explain step S12, please refer to FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, wherein FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram of wireless signal strength of comparing the change in wireless signal strength and the predefined signal strength trajectory of the method for exercise status assessment according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0052] As shown in FIG. 6, C1 may be a curve of the change in wireless signal strength, and C2 may be a curve of the predefined signal strength trajectory, points D11, D12 and D13 of the curve C1 of the change in wireless signal strength may be the predefined features, similar to points D21, D22 and D23 of the curve C2 of the predefined signal strength trajectory. In the implementation of determining whether the change in wireless signal strength has the  predefined features included in the predefined signal strength trajectory, the computing device 13 may determine that the curve C1 of the change in wireless signal strength has the predefined feature points D11, D12 and D13 with rates of change that change from positive to negative or from negative to positive. In the implementation of performing matching determination with the flow chart shown in FIG. 5, the computing device 13 may use the wireless signal strength value S1 in the curve C1 of the change in wireless signal strength that appears the preset period (for example, 400ms) prior to the predefined feature point D11 as the starting strength value, then determines the similarity between the curve C1 of the change in wireless signal strength with the curve C2 of the predefined signal strength trajectory starting from the wireless signal strength value S1 in the sequence of the continuous period of time.

[0053] In addition, as described above, in an embodiment, when the determination result of step S12 is that the change in wireless signal strength matches the predefined signal strength trajectory, the method for exercise status assessment may further include the step of generating the time information. For example, the computing device 13 may pre-store definitions of concentric time and eccentric time. The concentric time indicates the time differences between the starting time point of the matching part of the change in wireless signal strength and time corresponding to the limit strength value. The eccentric time indicates the time difference between the ending time point of the matching part of the change in wireless signal strength and time corresponding to the limit strength value. In the example shown in FIG. 6, the computing device 13 may determine the time difference t1 as the concentric time, wherein the time difference t1 is the difference between the starting time point corresponding to the starting strength value S1 of the curve C1 of the change in wireless signal strength matching the curve C2 of the predefined signal strength trajectory and the time point corresponding to the limit strength value (the point D11) . The computing device 13 may determine the time difference t2 as the eccentric time, wherein the time difference t2 is the difference between the ending time point corresponding to the ending strength value E1 and the time point corresponding to the limit strength value (the point D13) . The computing device 13 may generate the time information according to the time difference t1 and the time difference t2, and output the time difference t1 and the time difference t2 by, for example, an output element.

[0054] The following explains the specific implementation of the computing device 13 obtaining image of the exercise equipment 2 through the image capturing device 17, and obtaining the weight information of the exercise equipment 2 by image analysis.

[0055] When the exercise equipment 2 includes the main body and the counter weight block, the method for exercise status assessment may further include the computing device 13 obtaining an image of the exercise equipment 2 through the image capturing device 17; analyzing a benchmark pixel region in the image corresponding to the main body; obtaining a plurality of target pixel regions in the image corresponding to the at least one counter weight block according to the benchmark pixel region; and obtaining weight information of the at least one counter weight block at least according to a pixel area of the target pixel regions, wherein the exercise status message is further generated according to the weight information.

[0056] Specifically, the image capturing device 17 is, for example, a camera, and the computing device 13 may analyze the benchmark pixel region of the main body and the target pixel regions of the counter weight block by identifying the main body and the counter weight block of the exercise equipment 2 in the image. The computing device 13 may obtain the weight information of the counter weight block at least according to the pixel area of the target pixel regions. Moreover, the computing device 13 may generate the exercise status message according to the weight information. Therefore, in addition to the number of movement, the exercise status message output by the computing device 13 may further include the weight information.

[0057] Please refer to FIG. 2, FIG. 7 and FIG. 8, wherein FIG. 7 is a schematic diagram of obtaining weight information by using image recognition of the method for exercise status assessment according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, wherein FIG. 8 is a schematic diagram of obtaining weight information by using image recognition of the method for exercise status assessment according to another embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0058] In an embodiment, the exercise equipment 2 may include the main body L10 and the counter weight blocks L11 to L13 as shown in FIG. 7. After the computing device 13 obtaining the image I1 of the exercise equipment 2 through the image capturing device 17, the computing device 13 analyzes the benchmark pixel region P10 corresponding to the main body L10 in the image I1, and obtains the target pixel regions P11 to P13 corresponding to the counter weight blocks L11 to L13 in the image I1 according to the benchmark pixel region. Then, the computing device 13 obtains the weight information of the counter weight blocks L11 to L13 by the pixel area of the target pixel regions P11 to P13, and then generates the exercise status message according to the weight information. Specifically, the computing device 13 obtaining the weight information of the counter  weight blocks L11 to L13 may include determining a target range among a plurality of predefined ranges which the pixel area of the target pixel regions P11 to P13 belong to; and obtaining a target weight corresponding to the target range from a plurality of predefined weights, wherein the weight information comprises the target weight. Moreover, the predefined ranges are corresponding pixel region ranges generated according to the benchmark pixel region of the main body. The computing device 13 compares the pixel area of the target pixel region P11 to P13 and the predefined ranges, and may determine which one of the predefined ranges is the target range corresponding to the target pixel regions P11 to P13, and obtain the corresponding target weight according to the target range.

[0059] In another embodiment, the exercise equipment 2 may include the main body L20 and the counter weight blocks L21 to L25 shown in FIG. 8. After the computing device 13 obtaining the image I2 of the exercise equipment 2 through the image capturing device 17, the computing device 13 analyzes the benchmark pixel region P20 corresponding to the main body L20 in the image I2, and obtains the target pixel regions P21 to P25 corresponding to the counter weight blocks L21 to L25 in the image I2 according to the benchmark pixel region. Then, the computing device 13 obtains the weight information of the counter weight blocks L21 to L25 by the pixel area of the target pixel regions P21 to P25, and then generates the exercise status message according to the weight information. Specifically, the computing device 13 obtaining the weight information of the counter weight blocks L21 to L25 may include determining a target range among a plurality of predefined ranges which the pixel area of the target pixel regions P21 to P25 belong to; determining a target color among a plurality of predefined colors which a color of the target pixel regions P21 to P25 belongs to; and obtaining a target weight corresponding to the target range and the target color from a plurality of predefined weights, wherein the weight information comprises the target weight. Moreover, after determining the target range which the pixel area of the target pixel regions P21 to P25 belongs to, the computing device 13 determines which one of the predefined colors is the target color, and obtains the corresponding target weight according to the target range and the target color.

[0060] Moreover, in the two embodiments of FIG. 7 and FIG. 8 described above, the predefined ranges may be a lookup table, which may have different target ranges according to the area sizes of the benchmark pixel regions of the main body L10 or L20. The lookup table may also include the target weights corresponding to different target ranges, and the lookup table according to the main body L20 may further include the target weights corresponding to different colors.
