Description

[0001] TITLE: Device for supporting a motor vehicle powertrain

[0002] Technical field

[0003] The invention relates to a device for supporting a motor vehicle powertrain.

[0004] Previous techniques

[0005] A motor vehicle powertrain generally comprises an engine associated with a gearbox or a geared motor. It is known to arrange the powertrain either axially, that is to say the crankshaft is oriented longitudinally in the normal direction of travel of the vehicle, or transversely, that is to say the crankshaft is oriented perpendicular to the normal direction of travel of the vehicle.

[0006] When the powertrain is arranged transversely, the gearbox or geared motor is arranged transversely on one side of the engine.

[0007] To ensure good vibration filtration, the powertrain is generally suspended by two supports, one on the engine side and the other on the gearbox or gear motor side. These supports are fixed to the vehicle structure, in particular to the side members of the engine compartment.

[0008] To streamline manufacturing costs, car manufacturers prefer to use the same modular platform when manufacturing different vehicle models. This platform includes the engine compartment, which can be equipped with electric or thermal engines.

[0009] In the case of thermal engines, the support is not fixed directly to the structure, but a structural riser is used to raise the engine's suspension point, which is necessary due to the greater height of the thermal engine in relation to the gearbox.

[0010] However, in the case of electric motors there is not much difference in height between the electric motor and the geared motor. In this case, using a riser is not necessary and results in a significant loss of useful volume.

[0011] Statement of the invention

[0012] The aim of the invention is to propose a powertrain support device which makes it possible to free up the maximum amount of space in the engine compartment and which makes it possible to ensure correct support of the powertrain, in particular with regard to torsional stresses.

[0013] The invention relates to a device for supporting a motor vehicle powertrain comprising a support plate and a tie rod. The support plate comprises a fixing part intended to be fixed directly to a structural element of the vehicle located on the side of an engine of the powertrain, and a support part secured to the fixing part, arranged in a console relative to the structural element and comprising means for suspending the engine. The tie rod connects a lateral side of the support plate to a sheet metal of the engine compartment of the vehicle. Such a support device maximizes the useful space available in the engine compartment and improves the capacity to absorb torsional stresses by involving a sheet metal of the engine compartment.

[0014] According to one feature, the support plate comprises fixing means comprising threaded studs arranged on an upper face of the plate. Such a support plate makes it possible to fix a component on its upper face.

[0015] According to another feature, the support plate is provided with a crow resting on the structural element of the vehicle, so as to stiffen the support part. Such a crow makes it possible to stiffen the support part.

[0016] For example, the tie rod is flat and reinforced by a stamped area. Such a tie rod is simple to manufacture and improves the absorption of torsional stresses.

[0017] Advantageously, the tie rod comprises a fixing lug. For example, the fixing lug is provided with an oblong hole configured to accommodate a fixing comprising a fir tree pin associated with a strap or a fixing flange. Such a fixing lug makes it possible, for example, to hold a water pipe in a nominal position which minimizes the risk of damage.

[0018] Preferably, the motor suspension means comprises a suspension ring configured to support a support shaft of the motor. Such a suspension ring allows rotation of the shaft and reduces transmission of vibrations from the motor.

[0019] According to another aspect, the invention relates to a motor vehicle equipped with a powertrain comprising an electric motor. The powertrain is fixed to a structural element of the vehicle by means of at least one support device as described above.

[0020] For example, the vehicle includes a water condenser mounted on an upper face of the support plate of the support device. Brief description of the drawings

[0021] Other aims, characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following description, given solely by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the appended drawings in which:

[0022] [Fig 1] is a schematic sectional view of a powertrain supported by a support device according to the invention; and

[0023] [Fig 2] illustrates a perspective view of the support device of [Fig i];

[0024] Detailed description of at least one embodiment

[0025] Figure 1 shows a transverse powertrain 1 for a motor vehicle (not shown). In the embodiment illustrated here, it is a powertrain 1 which comprises an electric traction motor 2 and a geared motor 3.

[0026] In a known manner, the geared motor 3 is supported by at least one support 4 fixed to the structure of the vehicle.

[0027] The engine 2 is supported by a support device 5 comprising a support plate 6 and a tie rod 7.

[0028] The support plate 6 comprises a fixing part 6a and a support part 6b, integral with each other.

[0029] The fixing part 6a is intended to be fixed directly to a structural element 8 of the vehicle, located on the side of the engine 2, thus freeing up maximum space in the engine compartment.

[0030] As can be seen more particularly in Figure 2, the fixing part is crossed by several fixing orifices, here two in number, which are each intended to receive a threaded rod, for example a screw or a stud. The structural element 8 is here a side member of the chassis of the vehicle. Alternatively, the fixing of the fixing part can be carried out by beads or welding points.

[0031] The support part 6b is console-like relative to the structural element 8 and comprises means 9 for suspending the motor 2. The suspension means 9 comprise a suspension ring 9a configured to support a support axis 10 of the motor. As can be seen more particularly in FIG. 2, the suspension ring 9a is here fixed to the support plate 6 by means of two threaded rods.

[0032] It should be noted that the same elements bear the same references from one figure to another. Figure 2 is a perspective view of the support device 5 of Figure 1.

[0033] The tie rod 7 connects a lateral side 11 of the support plate 6 to a sheet metal 12 of the engine compartment of the vehicle. For example, the sheet metal 12 may be a closing sheet metal for a wheel arch.

[0034] Preferably, the tie rod 7 is flat and reinforced by a stamped zone 7a.

[0035] According to one example, the tie rod comprises a fixing lug 7b which is here provided with an oblong hole capable of receiving a fixing comprising for example a fir tree pin associated with a strap or a fixing flange.

[0036] Preferably, the support plate comprises fixing means comprising threaded studs 13 arranged on an upper face of the plate 6. The threaded studs 13 are configured for fixing components on the upper face of the plate 6.

[0037] Preferably, the support plate 6 is provided with a corbel 14 on a lower face of the support plate 6. The lower and upper faces of the support plate 6 are opposite and delimit the thickness of the support plate 6. The corbel 14 rests on the structural element 8 of the vehicle, so as to stiffen the support part 6b in a console. Preferably, the corbel is rigidly fixed on the structural element 8 to guarantee perfect holding in place and to promote the transmission of forces to the structural element 8.

[0038] The support device according to the invention makes it possible to free up a maximum of space in the engine compartment. A motor vehicle whose powertrain is fixed by at least one such support device can thus comprise a water condenser mounted on the upper face of the support plate of the support device.
