AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing moisture-curable polyurethane resin compositions struggle to achieve high adhesion to super-water-repellent fabrics due to the decrease in adhesion between water-repellent treated fabrics and adhesives, particularly in moisture-permeable waterproof functional clothes.

Method used

A moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition comprising urethane prepolymers (A) and (B) with specific melt viscosities and isocyanate groups, which form cross-linked structures upon reacting with moisture, enhancing adhesion to various fabrics including water-repellent ones.

Benefits of technology

The composition exhibits excellent adhesion to water-repellent fabrics and maintains excellent texture without using solvents, making it an environment-responsive material.

Description

MOISTURE-CURABLE POLYURETHANE RESIN COMPOSITION, ADHESIVE, AND LAMINATETECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a moisture-curable polyurethane resin composition, an adhesive, and a laminate.BACKGROUND

[0002] Moisture-permeable waterproof functional clothes having both moisture permeability and water resistance are composed by bonding a moisture-permeable film to a fabric with an adhesive. As the adhesive, urethane adhesives have been commonly used because of their good adhesion to both the moisture-permeable film and the fabric. Among the urethane adhesives, moisture-curable polyurethane resin compositions, which are solvent-free, have been increasingly used owing to recent global solvent emission regulation and residual solvent regulation (for example, see PTL 1) .

[0003] On the other hand, the fabric to be used has become finer denier and more water-repellent because of its lighter weight and higher functionality, and therefore a problem has arisen in which adhesion between the water-repellent pre-treated fabric and the adhesive decreases. Among existing moisture-curable polyurethane resin compositions, there has not been found a moisture-curable polyurethane resin composition having high adhesion to, in particular, a super-water-repellent fabric.Citation ListPatent Literature

[0061] After applied, the moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition can be dried and cured by a known method.

[0062] The thickness of the cured product of the moisture-curable urethane hot-melt resin composition is, for example, within a range of 5 to 300 μm.

[0063] Note that, when the moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition according to the present invention is used as an adhesive for moisture-permeable waterproof functional clothes, the moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition is preferably intermittently applied by using a gravure roll coater or a dispenser to bond the fabric (i) to a known moisture-permeable film. In this case, the thickness of the cured product of the moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition is, for example, within a range of 5 to 50 μm.

[0064] Furthermore, onto the moisture-permeable film, a mesh fabric may be laminated by intermittently applying the moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition.
