Description

Vehicle seats

[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle seat including a pad that is a cushioning material and a trim cover that covers the surface of the pad.

[0002] A conventional vehicle seat such as the one described above is disclosed, for example, in Patent Document 1. Patent Document 1 discloses a vehicle seat having a structure in which a wire disposed inside the seat pad and a wire suspended from the rear surface of the trim cover are connected by a hog ring.

[0003] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2017-171053

[0004] However, in conventional vehicle seat covers such as those described above, after the trim cover is placed on the pad, a special tool is used to connect both wires with a hog ring, but since the special tool is heavy and the work is difficult to see, improvements were desired.

[0005] The present invention was made in consideration of the above-mentioned conventional situation, and aims to provide a vehicle seat that can simplify the work of attaching a trim cover to a pad, thereby shortening the work time and reducing manufacturing costs.

[0006] The vehicle seat of the present invention comprises a pad that is a cushioning material and a trim cover that covers the surface of the pad, and is characterized in that a linear member is disposed inside the pad, and a clip is provided on the back surface of the trim cover that is attached to the linear member by elastic deformation.

[0007] In a vehicle seat having the above configuration, the linear members are arranged in multiple locations along a recessed portion of the vehicle seat, for example. In contrast, clips can be provided in multiple locations according to the arrangement of the linear members. A trim cover with a clip on its back surface is then arranged according to the pad on which the linear members are arranged, and the clip is fastened to the linear members by pressing the clip from the front side of the trim cover. At this time, the clip is fastened to the linear members with elastic deformation, so that the fastening can be recognized by sound or touch.

[0008] By adopting the above-described configuration, the vehicle seat according to the present invention can facilitate the work of attaching the trim cover to the pad, thereby reducing the work time and manufacturing costs.

[0009] 1 is a perspective view showing a first embodiment of a vehicle seat according to the present invention; 2 is a perspective view showing an arrangement of linear members and clips in a vehicle seat; 3 is a perspective view explaining fastening of a trim cover to a pad; 4 is a cross-sectional view (A) showing a state before fastening a clip to a linear member, and 5 is a cross-sectional view (B) showing a state after fastening.

[0010] <First embodiment> The vehicle seat S shown in FIG. 1 has a detachable headrest R attached to the upper part of a seat back B, a pad P as a cushioning material, a part of which is shown in the figure, and a trim cover T as a covering material that covers the surface of the pad P.

[0011] As shown in Figure 2, the vehicle seat S has a linear member 1 disposed inside a pad P, and is provided with a clip 2 on the back surface of a trim cover T that is attached to the linear member 1 by elastic deformation.

[0012] The material of the linear member 1 is not limited, but it may be, for example, a steel wire. The linear member 1 is arranged along a plurality of recessed portions, although this varies depending on the design of the vehicle seat. As shown in Figure 3, the linear member 1 is integrated into the pad P during molding so as to be exposed in necessary locations.

[0013] As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the clip 2 has a main body 4 having a gap 3 at its lower end to allow the linear member 1 to pass through, guide portions 5, 5 that are continuous with the lower end of the main body 4 and extend on both sides of the gap 3, and a sewing portion 6 that is located at the upper end of the main body and is sewn to the trim cover T.

[0014] The clip 2 in the illustrated example has a sewn portion 6 integrated via a rib-shaped connecting portion 7 provided on the upper part of the main body portion 4, and a return portion 8 is formed above the gap 3 in the main body portion 4 to function as a retainer for the linear member 1.

[0015] In the clip 2, the main body 4 and the guide portion 5 may be made of any material that is capable of elastic deformation, but are typically made of resin. The main body 4 in the illustrated example is roughly ring-shaped with a diameter larger than that of the linear member 1, and the guide portions 5, 5 on both sides are arc-shaped and extend in opposite directions. The material of the sewing portion 6 is also not limited, but may be any material that can be sewn, such as cloth or nonwoven fabric.

[0016] The clip 2 is made by cutting a long piece of material having the same cross section in the longitudinal direction to a desired length. The clip 2 can be formed by extrusion molding while integrating the stitching portion 6 with the connecting portion 7, and after molding, it is cut to the required length for use.

[0017] As shown in Figure 3, the clips 2 are fixed by sewing the stitching 6 to the back surface of the trim cover T, and are arranged at appropriate locations relative to the linear members 1 arranged at multiple locations, as shown by the white arrows in Figure 1.

[0018] In the vehicle seat S having the above-described configuration, as shown in FIG. 3(A), a trim cover T having a clip 2 on its back surface is placed on a pad P on which a linear member 1 is placed, and by pushing the clip 2 from the front surface side of the trim cover T, the clip 2 is fastened to the linear member 1 as shown in FIG. 3(B).

[0019] That is, when the clip 2 is pushed in, the contact between the linear member 1 and the guide portions 5, 5 causes the main body portion 4 to elastically deform so as to widen the gap 3, allowing the linear member 1 to pass through the gap 3. Thereafter, the main body portion 4 of the clip 2 returns to its original shape, maintaining the fastened state to the linear member 1. In particular, the barb portion 8 of the clip 2 more reliably prevents it from coming off the linear member 1.

[0020] In the initial stage of the work of covering the pad P with the trim cover T, the linear member 1 and the clip 2 can be attached while visually checking both, but as the covering work progresses, visual inspection may become difficult. In contrast, in the vehicle seat S, the clip 2 is attached to the linear member 1 with elastic deformation, so that the attachment can be confirmed by the sound and feel at that time.

[0021] In this way, the above-mentioned vehicle seat S makes it easy to attach the trim cover T to the pad P, significantly reducing the burden on the worker, and also shortening the work time and reducing manufacturing costs.

[0022] Furthermore, the vehicle seat S described above employs a clip 2 having a main body portion 4 with a gap 3, guide portions 5, 5, and a sewn portion integrated with the main body portion 4, thereby enabling the fastening operation to the linear member 1 to be performed more easily and reliably with a relatively inexpensive and simple structure.

[0023] Furthermore, in the above-mentioned vehicle seat S, the clip 2 is made by cutting a long piece of material having the same cross section in the longitudinal direction to any length, and in particular, by forming the long clip 2 by extrusion molding, it becomes possible to mass-produce the clip 2 inexpensively, which can contribute to further reducing manufacturing costs.

[0024] The details of the configuration of the vehicle seat according to the present invention are not limited to the above-described embodiments, and can be appropriately modified without departing from the gist of the present invention.
