[0032] The Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Model (referred to herein as, “open system interconnection model” ) is a conceptual and logical layout that defines network communication used by systems (e.g., wireless communication device, wireless communication node) open to interconnection and communication with other systems. The model is broken into seven subcomponents, or layers, each of which represents a conceptual collection of services provided to the layers above and below it. The OSI Model also defines a logical network and effectively describes computer packet transfer by using different layer protocols. The OSI Model may also be referred to as the seven-layer OSI Model or the seven-layer model. In some embodiments, a first layer may be a physical layer. In some embodiments, a second layer may be a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer. In some embodiments, a third layer may be a Radio Link Control (RLC) layer. In some embodiments, a fourth layer may be a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer. In some embodiments, a fifth layer may be a Radio Resource Control (RRC) layer. In some embodiments, a sixth layer may be a Non Access Stratum (NAS) layer or an Internet Protocol (IP) layer, and the seventh layer being the other layer.

[0033] Various example embodiments of the present solution are described below with reference to the accompanying figures to enable a person of ordinary skill in the art to make and use the present solution. As would be apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art, after reading  the present disclosure, various changes or modifications to the examples described herein can be made without departing from the scope of the present solution. Thus, the present solution is not limited to the example embodiments and applications described and illustrated herein. Additionally, the specific order or hierarchy of steps in the methods disclosed herein are merely example approaches. Based upon design preferences, the specific order or hierarchy of steps of the disclosed methods or processes can be re-arranged while remaining within the scope of the present solution. Thus, those of ordinary skill in the art will understand that the methods and techniques disclosed herein present various steps or acts in a sample order, and the present solution is not limited to the specific order or hierarchy presented unless expressly stated otherwise.

[0034] 2. Systems and Methods for System Information Processing

[0035] In a certain communication network, a network energy saving (NES) cell can be implemented to allow / enable a network to obtain energy saving gains (e.g., reduce or minimize power consumption, resource utilization, or energy usage) by reducing the transmission / sending / propagation of system information. For example, the NES cell can be a cell supporting on-demand system information block (SIB) transmission or a cell supporting SIB-less. An on-demand SIB transmission can refer to the transmission of SIB upon or in response to receiving a request for SIB or an indication to transmit the SIB, e.g., the SIB can be transmitted aperiodically. In some cases, a UE (e.g., UE 104) that is accessing (e.g., attempting or requesting access) or camping (e.g., choosing / selecting a particular cell to provide services) on the NES cell may not directly obtain the system information of the NES cell because there may not be periodic SIB transmission on the NES cell. For instance, the NES cell may be in a low power mode when the UE 104 is accessing or camping on the NES cell. In this example, the UE 104 may not receive the system information or SIB transmission to establish a connection with the NES cell. To ensure a successful establishment of connection between the UE 104 and the NES cell, the systems and methods of the technical solution discussed herein can provide features, operations, and / or techniques discussed herein to obtain the SIB of the NES cell and / or updated system information (SI) .

[0036] In some implementations, on-demand SIB (e.g., system information block 1 (SIB1) or other SI, such as SIB2, SIB3, etc. ) of an NES cell can be triggered / initiated by an uplink (UL) wake-up signal (WUS) . In some implementations, the SIB discussed herein may correspond to, include, or be a part of SI, SIB1, or other types of SIB. For on-demand SIB, various cases or example sequences for WUS configuration transmission, WUS transmission, and the SIB transmission can be provided as follows. It should be noted that cell A can represent or refer to a cell that is periodically transmitting at least its own SIB Cell A may be associated with or related with the NES cell in one or more aspects, including but not limited to coverage overlap, sharing similar or the same information, etc.

[0037] For purposes of providing examples, the options can include but are not limited to the following cases:

[0038] · On target cell (e.g., the cell that the UE 104 transition / reposition to or attempts to establish a connection) of UL WUS transmission:

[0039] ○ Option 1: the UE 104 can transmit / send / provide UL WUS to the NES cell (e.g., second cell) .

[0040] ○ Option 2: the UE 104 can transmit UL WUS to cell A (e.g., first cell) .

[0041] · On configuration provision for UL WUS transmission, e.g., the NES cell and / or cell A providing configuration or information to the UE 104 to perform / execute the UL WUS transmission:

[0042] ○ Option A: the UE 104 can obtain / receive / acquire the UL WUS configuration from the NES cell.

[0043] ○ Option B: the UE 104 can obtain the UL WUS configuration from cell A.

[0044] · On receiving the SIB:

[0045] ○ Option X: the UE 104 can receive on-demand SIB from the NES cell.

[0046] ○ Option Y: the UE 104 can receive on-demand SIB from cell A.

[0047] In various aspects, the secondary cell can include, correspond to, or be (or replaced by) a primary cell, cell, serving cell, carrier, frequency band, bandwidth part, and / or frequency resource element, to name a few. In some implementations, the primary cell can include, correspond to, or be (or replaced by) a cell, serving cell, carrier, frequency band, bandwidth part, and / or frequency resource element, etc. In some implementations, the carrier can be (or replaced by) a cell, serving cell, frequency band, bandwidth part, and / or frequency resource element, among others. The synchronization signal block (SSB) can be (or replaced by) a secondary synchronization signal, a primary synchronization signal, a synchronization signal, a signal for measurement, a signal for idle or inactive mode UE, and / or a signal for connected mode UE, etc. The system information (SI) can include / comprise at least one of a master information block (MIB) , the system information block (e.g., SIB1) , a number of system information blocks (SIBs) other than SIB1 and SIBs for positioning, etc.

[0048] In various configurations, the UE 104 can receive / acquire / obtain various information on one or more cells, including but not limited to first information, second information, and / or third information on a first cell (e.g., cell A or at least one other cell associated with or related to the NES cell or the second cell) and / or a second cell (e.g., NES cell) . The first cell may sometimes be referred to as a non-NES cell, capable of or supporting transmission of its own system information. The second cell may be a cell that is configured to not support or cannot send SSB, capable of sending SSB on-demand (or support aperiodic transmission of the SSB) , configured to send simplified SSB (e.g., relatively smaller SSB or SSB with less information compared to SSB sent by the first cell) , does not send SI, and / or does not send SI periodically, for example. The UE 104 receiving information from a cell can refer to receiving the information from a network node (e.g., BS 102, gNB, transmission and reception point (TRP) , and / or wireless communication node) of the cell.

[0049] First Information

[0050] The UE 104 can receive / acquire / obtain the first information from the BS 102 of the first cell or the second cell. The first information (or updated first information) can include at least one of but not limited to at least one of: one or more wake-up signal (WUS) configurations, and / or a transmission mode (e.g., timing information, resource information, etc. ) of the second  information. The WUS can be utilized / used or sent / transmitted by the UE 104 to indicate / trigger the transmission of the second information (e.g., SIB1) by / from the first cell or the second cell.

[0051] In some implementations, the first information can be communicated / sent on the first cell (e.g., from the BS 102 of the first cell to at least the UE 104) . In some implementations, the first information can be transmitted on both the first cell and the second cell (e.g., from a first network node of the first cell and a second network node of the second cell to at least the UE 104) . In some embodiments, the first information on the second cell can be carried by or communicated via at least one of the SIB, paging, paging early indication (PEI) , low power (LP) WUS, sequence-based WUS, on-off keying (OOK) -based WUS, downlink control information (DCI) -based WUS, etc.

[0052] In some implementations, one WUS configuration corresponds to one or more second cells. In some examples, one WUS configuration corresponds to one second cell. Only the WUS with the WUS configuration corresponding to the second cell can be used to trigger the SI transmission of the second cell, in some implementations. In some other examples, one WUS configuration corresponds to more than one second cells. The WUS with the WUS configuration corresponding to more than one second cells can be used to trigger the SI transmission of all associated second cells.

[0053] In some cases, the transmission mode of the second information can include or correspond to the timing of the transmission (e.g., transmission timing) of the second information and / or the resources of the second information. In some other cases, the transmission mode of the second information can include at least one of a start of the second information transmission, an end of the second information transmission, a number of transmission times (e.g., a number of transmission repetitions or a number of portions / parts of the second information being transmitted) , and / or the gap / cycle of (or between) the transmissions.

[0054] Receive First Information on First Cell

[0055] In various implementations, the UE 104 can receive / obtain / acquire the first information on the first cell (e.g., cell A or non-NES cell) , such as when the UE 104 camps on or connects to the first cell. The first information can be carried by or transmitted via the SIBx (e.g.,  one of the SIBs, such as one of SIB1 to SIB16) of the first cell. In some cases, the UE 104 may receive the first information transmitted on the first cell when the UE 104 camps on or connects to the second cell (e.g., NES cell) .

[0056] In some implementations, the UE 104 can camp on or remain connected to the second cell. In some cases, the second cell that the UE 104 camps on or connects to may be associated with one first cell. In this case, the UE 104 can select / choose the first cell (associated with the second cell) to receive the first information, e.g., when desired or requested. In some other implementations, the second cell that the UE 104 camps on or connects to can be associated with more than one first cell. In this case, the UE 104 can select one of the first cells to receive the first information. The first cell to be selected can be referred to as a target first cell. The UE 104 can select, re-select, or determine a target first cell from which to receive the (updated) first information when the UE 104 satisfies a first condition.

[0057] The first condition can involve at least the UE 104 receiving at least one of but not limited to a first information change indication (e.g., indicating to update the first information) and / or a second information change indication (e.g., indicating to update the second information) , the UE 104 needing / preparing to transmits a WUS, the first information that the UE stored being invalid / outdated / expired, or the UE 104 determining / preparing / desiring to camp on or connect to another second cell. The indication of changing the first information and / or the second information can correspond to or be a part of the third information. For example, the UE 104 can store the first information (e.g., WUS configuration, etc. ) and / or the second information (e.g., SIBx) received / obtained previously. The previously provided first information and / or second information may be outdated, invalid, expired, or changed (e.g., stored configuration or system information has changed) . In such cases, the UE 104 may receive the indication (e.g., the third information) to change or update the first information and / or the second information. After receiving the system information change indication (or configuration change indication) , the UE 104 can transmit / send / provide / signal a WUS to trigger the on-demand system information transmission (e.g., to obtain SIB) on the second cell. The UE 104 can receive the first information to determine whether the first information is updated or receive the second information to determine whether the second information is updated.

[0058] In further examples, the first information (or the second information) stored by the UE 104 may be invalid / outdated / expired. In some implementations, the first or second information becomes invalid when the storage time of the first or second information stored by the UE 104 expires, e.g., storage time exceeds a predefined time limit. In some cases, the UE 104 can determine whether the first or second information is invalid according to or based on a predefined time duration, a timer, or a network indication. The network indication can be transmitted on the first cell or the second cell (e.g., by the BS 102 of the corresponding cell) .

[0059] In some implementations, the target first cell is determined by or according to at least one of the association of the first cell with the second cell (e.g., coverage of the cells at least partially overlaps, or the cells share similar or the same configurations) , the first cell satisfying / meeting at least one a cell selection criterion S, the most recent or the last first cell that the UE 104 camps on or connects to, before / prior to the UE 104 camping on or connecting to the second cell, the first cell (e.g., of a plurality of first cells) with the best channel condition among the first cells associated with the second cell, and / or any first cell (e.g., cell that can provide WUS configuration) associated with the second cell, etc. The first cell with the best channel condition can be, for example, the target cell with the maximum reference signal received power (RSRP) and / or the maximum reference signal received quality (RSRQ) among the first cells associated with the second cell.

[0060] Receive First Information on First Cell and Second Cell

[0061] In some implementations, the UE 104 can receive the first information on the first cell and the second cell. In this case, the UE 104 may have previously received the first information from a different cell (e.g., the first cell) , and now receives the first information from another cell (e.g., the second cell) . For example, the UE 104 can receive / obtain the first information on the first cell before camping on, accessing, or establishing an RRC connection with the second cell. In another example, the UE 104 can receive the first information on the first cell before the UE 104 receives the system information of the second cell.

[0062] In some embodiments, after the UE 104 camps on or access to the second cell, the UE 104 can receive the first information on the second cell, e.g., from the BS 102 of the second cell. In some cases, the UE 104 can receive the first information on the second cell when, in response  to, or after the UE 104 receives a first information change indication indicating that the first information have changed. In some implementations, if the first information the UE 104 received is different from the first information previously received (or stored first information) , the UE 104 can update the stored first information with the (most recently) received first information (e.g., updated first information) . In this case, the difference between the recent first information and the stored first information can indicate that the recent first information is an updated first information.

[0063] For example, the UE 104 can receive / obtain the updated WUS configurations on the second cell after camping on the second cell. The updated WUS configurations can be different from the WUS configurations previously received on the first cell (or stored) by the UE 104. When desired, e.g., to establish or maintain a connection, the UE 104 can transmit / send WUS with or according to the updated WUS configurations to trigger the SIB transmission on the second cell.

[0064] Second Information

[0065] The second information (or the updated second information) can include at least one of but not limited to a downlink control information (DCI) scheduling the SI of the second cell, the SI of the second cell, and / or the SSB of the second cell. The DCI can include or be at least the DCI format 1_0 with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by SI-radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) . In some cases, the second information may be transmitted on / from the first cell. In this case, the second cell may not transmit the second information to the UE 104. In some other cases, the second information may be transmitted on / from the second cell. In this case, the first cell may not transmit the second information to the UE 104.

[0066] For example, the second information can be transmitted / provided on the second cell when triggered by the WUS from the UE 104. In another example, the second information may be transmitted on the second cell when the second information is updated / changed / adjusted / modified / altered. In some cases, the BS 102 of the second cell may receive an indication or be triggered by other signaling from one or more other devices within the network to send or broadcast the second information or the updated second information.

[0067] In some implementations, the second information can be provided on the first cell and the second cell (e.g., from the BS 102 of the first cell and another BS 102 of the second cell) , where the UE 104 may receive the second information from at least one of the first cell or the second cell. For example, the second information can be transmitted on the first cell (e.g., the first cell associated with the second cell) . When the second information is updated, the updated second information can be transmitted on or from both the first cell and the second cell. In some implementations, the second information can be (e.g., automatically or triggered to be) transmitted on / by the second cell when the second information is updated.

[0068] In some implementations, the second information can be transmitted on or from the first cell. In some implementations, the second information can be on-demand or aperiodically transmitted on the second cell indicated by the WUS from at least the UE 104. When the second information is updated or changed, the second information can be transmitted on the second cell, e.g., from the BS 102 of the second cell.

[0069] Transmission Mode of Updated Second Information

[0070] One or more transmission modes of the updated second information of the second cell can be used to transmit the (updated) second information from the second cell to the UE 104. For example, FIG. 3 illustrates an example 300 of transmitting updated second information N times, in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. In various arrangements, the updated second information is transmitted N times, where N can be greater than or equal to one. The updated second information can be transmitted in or during a next second information modification period. As shown in FIG. 3, the second information may be updated or changed during a first modification period / timeframe / duration, with the updated second information provided / sent to the UE 104 during the second (subsequent) modification period.

[0071] In some embodiments, the updated second information can be transmitted from the m-th second information transmission occasion of the next second information modification period. The value of m can be pre-defined (for example, m=1) , configured by high layer parameter or indicated by a signaling. The modification period can be configured by the system information or predefined in the specification. The modification period boundaries can be defined or configured by system frame number (SFN) values or hyper system frame number (H- SFN) values, for which SFN mod m = 0, or (H-SFN *1024 + SFN) mod m = 0. The m can denote the number of radio frames comprising the modification period.

[0072] In some implementations, the second information transmitted N times can satisfy at least one of but not limited to the following conditions:

[0073] · The N transmissions may be repeated transmissions. The contents of the second information transmitted N times may be the same.

[0074] · The N transmissions may have different transmission beams.

[0075] · The transmitted second information can be quasi co-locationed (QCLed) with at least one of the SSB and / or reference signal transmitted on the second cell and / or the first cell.

[0076] · The transmitted second information can correspond to a spatial relation of the WUS.

[0077] In some embodiments, the value of N can be determined by at least one of a fixed value, a predefined (e.g., N=2, N=4, etc. ) value, a value configured by or via an RRC signaling or parameter or other types of signalings, a value configured by SIB, etc. In some embodiments, the updated second information can be transmitted N times with a cycle T (e.g., frequency or intervals) . In this case, the value T can be determined or configured by at least one of a fixed value (e.g., 20ms, 80ms, 160ms) , predefined value, configured by or via the RRC signaling or parameter, configured by the SIB, etc.

[0078] In some embodiments, the updated second information can be transmitted N times with a set of gaps or transmission gap intervals (e.g., time period or delay between each transmission of the second information) . The i-th gap can correspond to the i-th transmission of the second information. For example, the first gap can be the offset between a first transmission of the second information (e.g., start or end of the transmission) and the start of the next second information modification period. In another example, the first gap can be the offset between the first transmission of the second information and the second transmission of the second information, e.g., between the start and / or end of the first transmission to the start of the second  transmission) . In some embodiments, the gaps can be determined by a predefined value, configured by an RRC parameter, and / or configured by SIB, etc.

[0079] In some implementations, the updated second information can be transmitted within a duration, timeframe, or period. FIG. 4 illustrates an example 400 of transmitting updated second information for a duration, in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The duration may be determined or configured according to at least one of a start point / time, a length, and / or an endpoint. The duration can correspond to the time between the start point or the endpoint. The duration can correspond to the predefined or configured length. In some embodiments, at least one of the start point, the length, or the endpoint can be at least one of predefined, configured by the high-layer parameters, according to the specification, etc. In some implementations, the length of the duration is equal to the duration of the on-demand SIB1 transmission triggered by a WUS. In some implementations, the start point is the start of the next association period.

[0080] In some configurations, the second information within the duration can be transmitted with a cycle T (e.g., transmit the second information in T intervals within the duration) . For example, the value of T can be at least one of a fixed value (e.g., 20ms, 80ms, or 160ms) , a predefined value, configured by an RRC parameter or signaling (or other signalings) , and / or configured by SIB, among others. In some implementations, if the UE 104 receives the updated second information, the UE 104 can stop / pause to receive the remaining transmitted second information, e.g., stop from receiving other information. For instance, the updated second information may be transmitted N times, and if the UE successfully received the updated second information at the first transmission, the UE does not need to receive the remaining N-1 transmissions. Hence, the UE can stop  / pause to receive the remaining N-1 transmissions.

[0081] In some arrangements, the second information can be transmitted on the first cell. In some cases, the second cell that the UE 104 camped on or connected to may be associated with one first cell. In this case, the UE 104 can select / choose the first cell from which to receive the second information. In some other embodiments, the second cell that the UE camped on or connected can be associated with more than one first cells. In such cases, the UE 104 can select one of the first cells to receive the second information. The UE 104 can determine and select or  re-select a target first cell to receive the second information when the UE 104 satisfies at least one second condition.

[0082] For example, the second condition can include at least one of but not limited to the following:

[0083] · The second condition can be satisfied when the UE 104 receives the second information change indication.

[0084] · The second condition can be satisfied when the UE 104 receives the third information (e.g., change indication of WUS configuration (or other first information) and / or SIB (or other second information) ) . For example, the second information can include the SIB (e.g., SIB1, etc. ) of the second cell and is transmitted on the first cell. The third information can comprise at least an SI change indication. After receiving the third information, the UE 104 can re-obtain the SIB1 of the second cell. Therefore, the UE 104 can select or re-select a selected first cell to receive the second information.

[0085] · The second information that the UE 104 stored has become invalid / expired / outdated. In some implementations, the second information may be invalid when the storage time of the second information stored by the UE 104 expires. In some embodiments, the second information may be invalid when the second information has changed or been modified / altered, such that the updated second information differs from the second information stored by the UE 104.

[0086] The target first cell can be determined by, according to, or as at least one of but not limited to:

[0087] · The first cell (or any first cell) associated with the second cell.

[0088] · The first cell satisfying a cell selection criterion S.

[0089] · The first cell that is the most recent or the previous cell that the UE 104 camped on or connected to, e.g., before the UE 104 camps on or connects to the second cell.

[0090] · The first cell with the best channel condition among the first cells associated with the second cell. For example, the target cell can be the first cell with the maximum reference signal received power (RSRP) and / or the maximum reference signal received quality (RSRQ) among the first cells associated with the second cell. Other parameters can be utilized not limited to those discussed herein to determine and select the target cell having the best channel condition or signal strength.

[0091] Third Information

[0092] In some implementations, the third information can include / comprise at least one of but not limited to information in a paging message of the second cell, information in a short message of the second cell, the first information change indication (e.g., change indication for the first information) , and / or the second information change indication (e.g., change indication for the second information) . The third information may be transmitted / provided / sent on the first cell. In some cases, the third information may be transmitted by at least one of the synchronization signal (SS) , physical broadcast channel (PBCH) , master information block (MIB) , and / or the SIB (e.g., SIB1) on the first cell, etc.

[0093] For example, the third information may include the WUS configuration change indication corresponding to the second cell. The third information may be carried by the SS / PBCH or the SIB1 (or other signalings) on the first cell. The WUS configuration can include or correspond to the second cell carried by the SIBx of the first cell. When the UE 104 camps on the second cell and is configured to trigger the on-demand SIB transmission on the second cell, the UE 104 can detect the SS / PBCH or the SIB1 on the first cell to determine whether the WUS configuration is updated / changed. If the WUS configuration is updated, the UE 104 can select or re-select the first cell to receive / obtain the updated WUS configuration. Then / subsequently, the UE 104 can transmit the WUS with or according to the updated (or new) WUS configuration. If the WUS configuration is not updated, the UE 104 can transmit the WUS with the WUS configuration that UE 104 stored (e.g., previously received or stored WUS configuration) .

[0094] In some embodiments, the third information can be transmitted on the second cell. In some implementations, the UE 104 can receive at least one of the first information and / or the second information on the first cell and receive the third information on the second cell. In some  embodiments, at least one of the first information change indication and / or the second information change indication may be carried or communicated by or via at least one of the paging DCI, paging message, PEI, LP WUS, sequence-based WUS, OOK-based WUS, DCI-based WUS, and / or RRC parameters, among other signalings or messages.

[0095] In some implementations, the UE 104 can detect the third information periodically. In some cases, when the second information change indication is received, the UE 104 may receive the second information at the next second information modification period. The UE 104 can receive the second information at the beginning of the next second information modification period, such as described in conjunction with at least one of but not limited to FIGS. 3 and / or 4.

[0096] In some configurations, when the second information change indication is received, the UE 104 can transmit the WUS to trigger the transmission of the second information. The UE 104 may send the WUS to trigger the transmission of the updated second information. In some cases, the UE 104 may send the WUS at the next second information modification period. For example, the UE 104 may transmit the WUS on the first WUS occasion at next second information modification period.

[0097] First Cell and Second Cell

[0098] The first cell can include, correspond to, or refer to a cell that is capable of, supports, or performs the transmission of at least its own system information and / or SSB, among other information to one or more UEs 104 (e.g., wireless communication devices) . The second cell can refer to a network energy-saving cell that satisfies at least one of the following parameters or configurations:

[0099] · No transmission of the SSB on the second cell (e.g., the second cell does not support SSB transmission) .

[0100] · On-demand or aperiodic and / or simplified SSB (e.g., SSB with relatively less information or simplified information) may be transmitted on the second cell, e.g., the second cell supports on-demand or aperiodic transmission of SSB and / or simplified SSB.

[0101] · No system information is transmitted on the second cell (e.g., the second cell does not support SI transmission) . In this case, the system information of the second cell may be transmitted on the first cell, e.g., the system information of the second cell may be the same or similar to the system information of the first cell.

[0102] · No periodic system information is transmitted on the second cell, e.g., the second cell does not support periodic transmission of the system information.

[0103] · On-demand and / or aperiodic system information transmission is supported on the second cell. For example, the on-demand system information can be triggered or indicated by the WUS from the UE 104.

[0104] In some implementations, the second cell can be associated with one or more first cells (e.g., the first cell and at least one other first cell) . In some other implementations, the first cell can be associated with one or more second cells (e.g., the second cell and at least one other second cells) . As discussed, the one or more first cells referred to herein can be associated with the second cell (or other second cells or NES cells) . The association between the first cell and the second cell can include but is not limited to at least one of:

[0105] · At least one of the first information, the second information, and / or the third information corresponding to the second cell can be transmitted on (or obtained from) the first cell.

[0106] · The coverage (e.g., signal coverage) of the second cell may at least partially overlap with the coverage of the first cell. For example, the second cell can be within the coverage of the first cell or vice versa.

[0107] In some implementations, each first cell can be associated with more than one second cells and each second cell may be associated with more than one first cell. For example, one first cell can carry the WUS configuration information corresponding to multiple second cells. The UE 104 can obtain the WUS configuration (s) corresponding to the multiple second cells. The UE 104 can send the WUS with or according to the WUS configuration corresponding to the target second cell. In some cases, the second cell may be associated with more than one first cell.  For instance, when the WUS configuration is updated, the UE 104 can receive the updated WUS configuration from the target first cell or multiple first cells associated with the second cell.

[0108] In some embodiments, each first cell can be associated with more than one second cells, while each second cell may be associated with one first cell. For example, one first cell can carry the WUS configuration information corresponding to multiple second cells, while for one second cell, the WUS configuration corresponding to the second cell may be obtained from one specific or specified first cell. In this case, when the UE 104 is to receive at least one of the first information and / or the second information from the first cell, the UE 104 may receive the information (e.g., first and / or second information) from the specific first cell associated with the second cell.

[0109] In some arrangements, each second cell may be associated with more than one first cell, while each first cell can be associated with one second cell. In some arrangements, one first cell can be associated with one second cell, and one second cell can be associated with one first cell. In some other arrangements, one first cell can be associated with more than one second cell, and one second cell can be associated with more than one first cell. Various examples for the communication of the first, second, and / or third information can be provided (but not limited to those) herein.

[0110] In an example scenario, the first information can include the WUS configurations for the second cell. The UE 104 can obtain / receive the WUS configurations (e.g., in the first information) for the second cell from the first cell (e.g., BS 102 of the first cell) , and transmit the WUS to trigger the on-demand SIB1 transmission (e.g., the second information) on the second cell. The UE 104 can receive the on-demand SIB1 on the second cell (e.g., BS 102 of the second cell) and camp on the second cell. When the UE 104 receives the WUS configuration change indication (e.g., the third information) on the second cell, the UE 104 can re-select the first cell to receive the updated WUS configurations, e.g., select the same first cell to receive the updated first information.

[0111] In another example scenario, the first information can include the WUS configurations for the second cell. The UE 104 can obtain the WUS configurations (e.g., first information) for the second cell from the first cell and transmit the WUS to trigger the second  information transmission on the second cell. The UE 104 can receive the second information (e.g., SIB and / or DCI, etc. ) on the second cell and camp on the second cell. When the UE 104 receives the second information change indication (e.g., the third information) on the second cell, the UE 104 can receive the updated second information on the second cell from the next second information modification period.

[0112] In yet another example scenario, the first information can include the WUS configurations for the second cell. The UE 104 can obtain the WUS configurations for the second cell from the first cell and transmit the WUS to trigger the second information transmission on the second cell. The UE 104 can receive the second information (e.g., SIB, etc. ) on the second cell and camp on the second cell. When the UE 104 receives the second information change indication (e.g., the third information) on the second cell, the UE 104 can transmit the WUS with or according to the WUS configurations to trigger the second information transmission at the next second information modification period on the second cell.

[0113] In further example scenarios, the first information can comprise the WUS configurations for the second cell. The UE 104 can obtain the WUS configurations for the second cell from the first cell and transmit the WUS to trigger the second information transmission on the second cell. The UE 104 can receive the second information on the second cell and camp on the second cell. When the UE 104 receives the second information change indication (e.g., the third information) on the second cell, the UE 104 can select or re-select the first cell to receive the WUS configuration. Then, the UE 104 can transmit the WUS with the updated or newly obtained WUS configurations (e.g., updated first information) for the second cell to trigger the updated second information. In some cases, the UE 104 can transmit the WUS at or in the next second information modification period.

[0114] In some example scenarios, the first information can comprise the WUS configurations for the second cell. The UE 104 can obtain the WUS configurations for the second cell from the first cell and transmit the WUS to trigger the second information transmission on the second cell. The UE 104 can receive the second information on the second cell and camp on the second cell. When the UE 104 has intention to initiate / execute random access, the UE 104 can send / signal the WUS with the WUS configurations to trigger the second  information transmission. In some cases, when the UE 104 prepares to initiate a random access, UE can select or re-select the first cell to receive the WUS configuration, subsequently send the WUS with the newly obtained or updated WUS configurations (e.g., updated first information) for the second cell to trigger the second information.

[0115] In some other example scenarios, the second cell may be associated with the first cell. In this case, the UE 104 can obtain the second information for the second cell from the first cell. The UE 104 can camp on the second cell. When the second information change indication is received, the UE 104 can select the first cell associated with the second cell to obtain the updated second information.

[0116] FIG. 5 illustrates a flow diagram of an example method 500 for system information processing. The method 500 may be implemented using any one or more of the components and devices detailed herein in conjunction with FIGs. 1–4. In brief overview, the method 500 may be performed by at least one wireless communication device (e.g., a UE or terminal device) , at least one network node (e.g., a BS, gNB, TRP, wireless communication node, or access network equipment) , at least one satellite, etc., in some embodiments. Additional, fewer, or different operations may be performed in the method 500 depending on the embodiment. The method 500 can be performed or executed in various arrangements or sequences, not limited to those discussed herein. At least one aspect of the operations is directed to a system, method, apparatus, or a computer-readable medium.

[0117] At operation 502, a network node (of at least one of a first cell or a second cell) can send / transmit / communicate first information (e.g., WUS configuration and / or transmission mode of the second information) and / or second information (e.g., SI, SSB, and / or SIB, etc. ) to a wireless communication device. In some cases, at least one other network node of the first cell (e.g., the cell associated with NES cell, e.g., sometimes referred to as a non-NES cell) or the second cell (e.g., NES cell) may send the first information and / or the second information to the wireless communication device. At operation 504, the wireless communication device can receive / obtain / acquire the first information and / or the second information from at least one of the first cell or the second cell. It should be noted that referring to the cell (e.g., first or second cell) can refer to a network node of the cell, such as the BS, gNB, or TRP of the cell.

[0118] At operation 506, the network node, of at least one of the first cell or the second cell, can send updated first information and / or updated second information to the wireless communication device from at least one of the first cell or the second cell. At operation 508, the wireless communication device can receive the updated first information and / or the updated second information from at least one of the first cell and / or the second cell (e.g., from the respective network node of the corresponding cell) .

[0119] In some implementations, the first information or the updated first information comprises at least one of: one or more configurations for wake up signals, and / or a transmission mode of the second information. In some implementations, at least one of: the wireless communication device may identify a first configuration from the one or more configurations for wake up signals; the wireless communication device may send a wake up signal (WUS) according to the first configuration to the second cell; and / or the wireless communication device can receive the second information from the second cell, responsive to the WUS, e.g., responsive to the second cell receiving the WUS from the wireless communication device.

[0120] In some implementations, the wireless communication device can determine, select, or re-select the first cell (from a plurality of candidate first cells) from which to receive the updated first information, when a first condition is satisfied. The first condition can include at least one of but not limited to: the wireless communication device receives third information, the wireless communication device is to send a wake up signal (WUS) according to the first information (e.g., WUS configuration) , and / or the first information previously received by the wireless communication device has become invalid or expired.

[0121] In some implementations, the first cell can be determined according to at least one of: an association of the first cell to the second cell, the first cell (or any cell associated with the second cell) satisfying a cell selection criterion S, the first cell being a most recent cell that the wireless communication device camped on or connected to, prior to the wireless communication device camping on or connecting to the second cell, and / or the first cell having a best channel condition among cells associated with the second cell, to name a few conditions / parameters. In such cases, the wireless communication device can find the target cell accurately, thereby reducing ambiguity, for example. In some implementations, the second information and / or the  updated second information can include at least one of: downlink control information (DCI) for scheduling system information (SI) of the second cell, the SI of the second cell, and / or synchronization signal block (SSB) of the second cell, etc.

[0122] In some implementations, the updated second information can be transmitted on the second cell when the second information is updated. For example, when the second information is updated, the updated second information transmitted on the second cell may guarantee the wireless communication device (s) camped on or connected to the second cell obtain the updated second information, and no more triggering signaling may not be needed, thereby reducing the signaling overhead and minimize the complexity of the implementation.

[0123] In some implementations, the updated second information can be transmitted within a duration or can be transmitted N times on the second cell, where N is a positive integer value greater than (or equal to) 1. For example, the updated second information may be transmitted within a duration or N times, which can reduce the power consumption caused by a relatively large number of repeated transmissions.

[0124] In some implementations, the duration can be defined by at least one of a start point, an endpoint or a duration length. In some cases, N can be at least one of: a fixed value, a predefined value, a value configured via radio resource control (RRC) signaling, and / or a value configured via system information block (SIB) signaling, among others. In some cases, the updated second information can be transmitted with at least one of: a transmission cycle interval, which has a fixed value, a predefined value, a value configured via radio resource control (RRC) signaling, and / or a value configured via system information block (SIB) signaling, and / or a set of transmission gap intervals, among others.

[0125] In some implementations, the wireless communication device can determine the first cell (from a plurality of candidate first cells) from which to receive the updated second information, when a second condition is satisfied. In such cases, determining the transmission interval of the updated second information can reduce blind detection, for example. The second condition can include at least one of: the wireless communication device receives the third information, and / or the second information previously received by the wireless communication device has become invalid, to name a few conditions.

[0126] In some implementations, the first cell can be determined according to at least one of: an association of the first cell (or any cell associated with the second cell) to the second cell, the first cell satisfying a cell selection criterion S, the first cell being a most recent cell that the wireless communication device camped on or connected to, prior to the wireless communication device camping on or connecting to the second cell, and / or the first cell having a best channel condition among cells associated with the second cell. In some implementations, the third information can comprise at least one of: information in a paging message of the second cell, information in a short message of the second cell, a change indication for the first information, and / or a change indication for the second information, etc.

[0127] In some implementations, the third information may be transmitted on at least one of the first cell and / or the second cell. In some implementations, the first cell can include / comprise a cell that is capable of transmitting at least one of system information or synchronization signal block (SSB) of the cell to the wireless communication device.

[0128] In some implementations, the second cell can comprise at least one of: a cell without synchronization signal block (SSB) transmitted on, a cell with on-demand SSB transmitted on, a cell support transmission of a simplified version of an SSB, a cell without system information transmitted on, a cell without periodic system information transmitted on, and / or a cell with on-demand system information transmitted on. In some implementations, at least one of: the second cell may be associated with the first cell and at least one other first cell; and / or the first cell may be associated with the second cell and at least one other second cell. An association between the first cell and the second cell can include at least one of: the first cell being configured to transmit or provide at least one of: the first information, that corresponds to the second cell, and / or the second information or third information, that corresponds to the second cell; and / or coverage of the second cell overlapping at least in part with that of the first cell.

[0129] While various embodiments of the present solution have been described above, it should be understood that they have been presented by way of example only, and not by way of limitation. Likewise, the various diagrams may depict an example architectural or configuration, which are provided to enable persons of ordinary skill in the art to understand example features and functions of the present solution. Such persons would understand, however, that the solution  is not restricted to the illustrated example architectures or configurations, but can be implemented using a variety of alternative architectures and configurations. Additionally, as would be understood by persons of ordinary skill in the art, one or more features of one embodiment can be combined with one or more features of another embodiment described herein. Thus, the breadth and scope of the present disclosure should not be limited by any of the above-described illustrative embodiments.

[0130] It is also understood that any reference to an element herein using a designation such as "first, " "second, " and so forth does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. Rather, these designations can be used herein as a convenient means of distinguishing between two or more elements or instances of an element. Thus, a reference to first and second elements does not mean that only two elements can be employed, or that the first element must precede the second element in some manner.

[0131] Additionally, a person having ordinary skill in the art would understand that information and signals can be represented using any of a variety of different technologies and techniques. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits and symbols, for example, which may be referenced in the above description can be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or particles, optical fields or particles, or any combination thereof.

[0132] A person of ordinary skill in the art would further appreciate that any of the various illustrative logical blocks, modules, processors, means, circuits, methods and functions described in connection with the aspects disclosed herein can be implemented by electronic hardware (e.g., a digital implementation, an analog implementation, or a combination of the two) , firmware, various forms of program or design code incorporating instructions (which can be referred to herein, for convenience, as "software" or a "software module) , or any combination of these techniques. To clearly illustrate this interchangeability of hardware, firmware and software, various illustrative components, blocks, modules, circuits, and steps have been described above generally in terms of their functionality. Whether such functionality is implemented as hardware, firmware or software, or a combination of these techniques, depends upon the particular application and design constraints imposed on the overall system. Skilled artisans can  implement the described functionality in various ways for each particular application, but such implementation decisions do not cause a departure from the scope of the present disclosure.

[0133] Furthermore, a person of ordinary skill in the art would understand that various illustrative logical blocks, modules, devices, components and circuits described herein can be implemented within or performed by an integrated circuit (IC) that can include a general purpose processor, a digital signal processor (DSP) , an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) , a field programmable gate array (FPGA) or other programmable logic device, or any combination thereof. The logical blocks, modules, and circuits can further include antennas and / or transceivers to communicate with various components within the network or within the device. A general purpose processor can be a microprocessor, but in the alternative, the processor can be any conventional processor, controller, or state machine. A processor can also be implemented as a combination of computing devices, e.g., a combination of a DSP and a microprocessor, a plurality of microprocessors, one or more microprocessors in conjunction with a DSP core, or any other suitable configuration to perform the functions described herein.

[0134] If implemented in software, the functions can be stored as one or more instructions or code on a computer-readable medium. Thus, the steps of a method or algorithm disclosed herein can be implemented as software stored on a computer-readable medium. Computer-readable media includes both computer storage media and communication media including any medium that can be enabled to transfer a computer program or code from one place to another. A storage media can be any available media that can be accessed by a computer. By way of example, and not limitation, such computer-readable media can include RAM, ROM, EEPROM, CD-ROM or other optical disk storage, magnetic disk storage or other magnetic storage devices, or any other medium that can be used to store desired program code in the form of instructions or data structures and that can be accessed by a computer.

[0135] In this document, the term "module" as used herein, refers to software, firmware, hardware, and any combination of these elements for performing the associated functions described herein. Additionally, for purpose of discussion, the various modules are described as discrete modules; however, as would be apparent to one of ordinary skill in the art, two or more  modules may be combined to form a single module that performs the associated functions according embodiments of the present solution.

[0136] Additionally, memory or other storage, as well as communication components, may be employed in embodiments of the present solution. It will be appreciated that, for clarity purposes, the above description has described embodiments of the present solution with reference to different functional units and processors. However, it will be apparent that any suitable distribution of functionality between different functional units, processing logic elements or domains may be used without detracting from the present solution. For example, functionality illustrated to be performed by separate processing logic elements, or controllers, may be performed by the same processing logic element, or controller. Hence, references to specific functional units are only references to a suitable means for providing the described functionality, rather than indicative of a strict logical or physical structure or organization.
