[0015] UBSTANCE: a group of inventions related to medical equipment, in particular to hygienic, and can be used for cleaning teeth.
[0016] Electric toothbrush contains a brush and a drive which means to put the brush in motion, a means of determining the position of the brush based on the output signal of a multi-axis acceleration sensor, a means of calculating the area to determine the site to be cleaned from a variety of areas, obtained by dividing the surface of the tooth row, based on determined position; a means of measuring the duration of cleaning for measurement cleaning and duration of each section; calculating output means calculating the output of the result of cleaning for each area based on the measured duration of cleaning the angle of the brush inclination to determine the angle of the brush which is relative to the tooth axis, based on the determined position. calculating output additionally evaluates and displays the result of cleaning for each site based on a comparison of the result of the calculation of the angle of brush inclination with a given optimal value of this angle. The group of inventions includes a second embodiment of an electric toothbrush.
[0017] The difference between our invention and this invention is obvious. In the mentioned invention, the acceleration sensor and gyroscope determine the position of the toothbrush, and position determination in the Russian invention is to measure the time each part of the teeth brushing has been spent and determine the correct position of the toothbrush about the teeth.
[0018] the whole innovation aspect of our design is using the brushes based on different positions of the toothbrush that allows the sensors to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise, and The movement of brushes on the teeth based on the scientific basis of brushing - brushing from top to bottom for upper teeth and bottom to top for lower teeth, and finally the correct extraction of food from the side of the gum. Our invention's main purpose is the scientificization of the electric toothbrush based on Stillman's method, which is possible with a different design of the brush. [0026] A toothbrush includes a handle portion and a brush head portion with a bristle set at one end of the brush head. At least one sensor is located either on the handle of the toothbrush or on the bristle set back plate of the toothbrush. When the sensor is located on the handle of the toothbrush, the position of the brush head is determined by a processor relative to the inside or outside surfaces of the teeth based on the temperature detected by the sensor, either the outside environmental temperature or the skin temperature of the user. When the sensor is located on the bristle set back plate, the determination is made based on the position of the bristle set relative to the cheek of the user.
[0027] The general difference is evident in the placement of the toothbrush brushes, the main idea of our toothbrush is in the placement of its brushes, which makes the electric toothbrush use determining sensors to detect and give the necessary instructions to the toothbrush brushes regarding the clockwise and counterclockwise. Only determining sensors have been mentioned in the above invention while the main idea of our invention is based on Stillman's scientific method with the help of sensors and a new design for the brushes.
[0028] The scientifically designed Electric Toothbrush with a Rotating Head for Correct Upward and Downward Brushing Motions for Jaws is a new invention that is based on the modern Stillman method. This invention contains a gyroscope sensor and it personalizes the device for each individual, so it decreases gum tissue injuries, because the brush head moves according to the user’s facial mimics, and the gyroscope sensor helps the toothbrush to be adjusted with the gum line and the jaws.
[0029] The movements of the common electric toothbrushes are circular, you can understand it through a simple search and see various types of electric toothbrushes which have circular heads. The Problem is their way of brushing is not scientific. Their circularness causes Food particles to leave one area and sink into the next area of the gum. This is why dentists suggest brushing teeth from the gum to occlusal which not only improves the gums and gum health, but also removes food particles from the gum side to the tooth side, and moving against it is completely harmful, especially for the health of the gums.
[0030] Stillman's Method: This method also involves placing the brush at a 45-degree angle to the gum line, but the focus is more on a sweeping motion from the gum to the crown of the tooth, which is especially helpful for individuals with gum recession or who require stimulation of the gums.
[0031] Benefits of Stillman's Method:
[0032] Gum Stimulation: The Stillman's Method is designed to provide stimulation to the gums. This can promote good blood circulation and help to maintain healthy gum tissue.
[0033] Plaque Removal: it is effective in removing plaque from the tooth surface, especially along the gumline where plaque tends to accumulate and cause problems.
[0034] Prevention of Gum Disease: By effectively cleaning the gumline, Stillman's Method can help prevent the development of gingivitis and periodontal disease.
[0035] Adaptability for Receding Gums: For individuals with receding gums or other periodontal issues, the sweeping motion of Stillman's technique can be particularly beneficial as it cleans gently and can help prevent further gum recession.
[0036] Versatility: It can be modified for a variety of dental conditions and is suitable for most adults.
[0037] In the invented toothbrush, the movements are rotatory instead of circular. The only problem is that when the movement is determined for the lower jaw, then it changes oppositely for the upper jaw and it is harmful. Now, with various gyroscopes, smart, and infrared sensors which are available in most electric devices, it is easy to design a toothbrush that moves with recognizing the correct position of the toothbrush head. This design might be the only electric toothbrush that follows the scientific rules. So for the first time, a toothbrush with all the dentists' suggestions is created which not only does not have the disadvantages of the previous electric toothbrush but also includes the advantages of being electric and the advantages of the correct method of non-electric toothbrushes.Solution of Problem
[0038] High amounts of gum injuries, tooth problems, and decay because of the wrong way of brushing can be reduced and prevented through the production of these new electric toothbrushes. Moreover, This device is highly beneficial for children, elderly individuals as well as physically disabled patients because it easily performs the proper toothbrushing technique for them.
[0039] A new electric toothbrush invention that successfully replicates Stillman's method could be considered better than older electric toothbrush models for several reasons:
[0040] 1. Improved Gum Health: Stillman's method is specifically designed not only for cleaning the teeth but also for massaging the gums, which can promote better gum health and potentially reduce the risk of gum disease. An electric toothbrush with this capability could be more effective in preventing and managing gingival and periodontal issues.
[0041] 2. Targeted Cleaning: Stillman's method focuses on the angle of brushing around the gums and teeth. An electric toothbrush that can mimic this could offer a more targeted approach to removing plaque, especially along the gum line and between teeth, areas that are often missed by standard brushing techniques.
[0042] 3. Customization for Users: If the new toothbrush could adjust its brushing mode to mimic Stillman's method, it could provide customized care for users who need specific gum attention, like those with gum recession or sensitivity, offering a tailored brushing experience.
[0043] 4. Automation of Technique: Properly executing manual brushing techniques like Stillman's method requires skill and discipline. An electric toothbrush that automates this technique would ensure that users consistently get the benefit of the method without having to master the technique themselves.
[0044] 5. Enhanced Plaque Removal: If the new toothbrush can combine the oscillating-rotating or sonic action of traditional electric toothbrushes with the motion of Stillman's technique, it could potentially remove more plaque than older models, leading to a cleaner mouth and less tartar buildup over time.
[0045] 6. Reduced User Error: One of the drawbacks of manual toothbrushing, even with advanced techniques, is the potential for user error. An electric version of Stillman's method could minimize this risk by providing the correct motion every time.
[0046] 7. Accessibility: Such an invention could make the benefits of advanced brushing techniques accessible to a broader population, including those with motor skill difficulties, arthritis, or other conditions that make manual brushing challenging.
[0047] 8. Data Collection and Feedback: If the new electric toothbrush includes smart features, like pressure sensors and timers, along with data collection capabilities that provide feedback on brushing habits, it could help users improve their oral hygiene regimen more effectively than older models.
[0048] 9. Professional Support and Compliance: Dental professionals might be more inclined to recommend a toothbrush that incorporates a scientifically recognized manual technique, which could increase patient compliance with oral hygiene recommendations.
[0049] 10. Psychological Satisfaction: Knowing that they are using a state-of-the-art device that provides a scientifically proven brushing technique could increase user satisfaction and confidence in their oral hygiene routine.
[0050] It's worth noting that while these potential benefits highlight the superiority of such an invention, the actual improvement in oral health would depend on a variety of factors, including the individual’s overall oral hygiene practices, diet, genetics, and regular dental care. Additionally, the success of this new toothbrush in the market would depend on how well it performs in clinical trials and user acceptance.
[0051] If an electric toothbrush were invented that could effectively replicate Stillman's method, it could offer several advantages that combine the benefits of a scientifically supported manual brushing technique with the convenience and additional features of an electric toothbrush. Here are some potential reasons why such a toothbrush might be considered the best option:
[0052] 1. Effective Gum Care: Stillman's method is designed to clean the teeth while also providing stimulation and massage to the gums, which can improve gum health. An electric toothbrush that can perform this method could potentially offer superior gum care compared to standard electric toothbrushes.
[0053] 2. Precision Brushing: Stillman's method involves brushing at a specific angle to the gumline and making certain motions that are believed to be optimal for oral hygiene. An electric toothbrush that could automate this precision could be more effective than manually performing the technique, especially for users who struggle with the dexterity needed for manual brushing.
[0054] 3. Consistency: One of the advantages of electric toothbrushes is their ability to provide consistent motion and pressure, reducing the risk of brushing too hard and causing enamel or gum damage. Incorporating Stillman's method into this consistent motion could lead to consistently better plaque removal around the gumline.
[0055] 4. Ease of Use: Many people may find the manual techniques challenging to master or may not perform them correctly. An electric toothbrush designed to use Stillman's method could simplify the process, making it accessible to a wider audience, including those with limited manual dexterity.
[0056] 5. Comprehensive Oral Hygiene: Combining Stillman's method with the efficiency and effectiveness of an electric toothbrush could result in a more comprehensive cleaning experience, targeting plaque removal, gum health, and overall oral hygiene.
[0057] 6. Adaptability and Customization: If such an electric toothbrush also included different settings for various manual techniques, it could be adaptable to a wide range of user needs and preferences, enhancing its appeal.
[0058] 7. Time-Saving: Assuming this new toothbrush could perform Stillman's method quickly and efficiently, it would save time for the user, combining the benefits of thorough cleaning with the convenience of an electric toothbrush.
[0059] 8. Innovation and Appeal: A novel product that is the first to market with such capabilities could attract consumers looking for the latest in dental technology, particularly those who are already health-conscious and interested in premium oral care products.
[0060] 9. Professional Endorsement: If dental professionals recognize the benefits of such a toothbrush and endorse its use, it could become the recommended choice for patients, thereby boosting its status as the best toothbrush available.
[0061] 10. Research and Evidence: Should studies and clinical trials show that this new type of electric toothbrush is superior in maintaining oral health, it would have a strong, evidence-based claim to being the best toothbrush on the market.
[0062] It is important to note that while the idea is promising, the actual effectiveness would depend on the execution and how well the toothbrush could replicate Stillman's technique. As with any dental product, clinical studies and real-world use would ultimately determine its efficacy and value in comparison to other toothbrushes on the market.
